recovery of lost bitlocker keys and unable to clean install windows 7

Hi friends,

Two days back, I used bitlocker in my windows 7. At this point, I forgot to save the Bitlocker recovery key in an external drive and saved in the internal hard drive. The next day, when I started the laptop does not start and the key demand of bitlocker recovery which I don't own. For this reason, I am unable to boot my system. Then I tried clean install the OS with my recovery of windows 7 dvd. But at that time also he asks me to disable the Bitlocker for which I'm not having the recovery key. So I'm not able to clean install the OS also. So how could I solve this problem and make my laptop works properly.

If someone knows how to fix this please tell me.

I don't use BitLocker, so I can't confirm your request. If it is correct that I would use a third party tool to repartition the disk. Here are some candidates:

  • Acronis Disk Director (cost money)
  • Boot of Ubuntu CD (http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/use-ubuntu-live-cd-to-backup-files-from-your-dead-windows-computer/) (free)
  • Connect the drive as a slave drive to some other PC.

Good afternoon. I post what after having exhausted all other options I can find.

Any laptop computer that I own, I build from scratch. Once it is built and updated and installed the software, I snap a picture of the device. This time, however, I can't get this system to install Windows 7 Pro x 64.

At first, I couldn't even it to begin on a USB or external CD drive. An hour later, I've updated the BIOS and reset all the values by default and boom, he finally loads Windows.

Now in the configuration process, but every time I'll watch readers [format and what not], he tells me that is missing a required device driver. I select my language and go forward, but stuck in the same place.

This is where I become super confused: this laptop model is not a CD/DVD player available, but he told me that I'm missing "a required CD/DVD drive device driver. What? Ok.

I downloaded all the drivers for the laptop, as well as used a 3rd party software all export them to another drive. It tells me to insert a CD/DVD [although there is none] or a flash drive to install the drivers. I did it with both a drive and external CD/DVD with a 2nd flash drive, but still get the same message.

My experience tells me to disable USB 3.0 and force it to 2.0, at least until I can get the OS installed, but I can't find any option for this in the BIOS. Someone at - it other ideas to use?

Yes indeed, I was able to get solved...

The accompanying CD was the key. I thought initially that this is what I used but apparently not. I work in an IT Department, so I have a thousand of these HP DVD. Once I plugged it in the DVD provided with the laptop he started right as there was never any problem at all.

I contact HP support on this issue and they were about as useful as Comcast Customer Support [for those of you who know what it's like]. I was supposed to get at least a phone call from a person, but never did.

    But there you go!

The key to Windows inlegible sticker, want to reinstall windows

What can I do if I can't read that the key is for Windows because of the part of the key on the sticker has rubbed off and must be re-installed Windows?  The product ID is located under the control panel > system maintenance > system > Windows Activation of a useful?  I don't want to end up with a Clipboard after that reinstalling Windows because I have a legitimate copy of Windows, but the key became disfigured over time, since it's on the bottom of the laptop.  I have Windows Vista Home Premium SP 2 running on a Dell Inspiron it's way outside the guarantee of its window.

    Thank you!

    Hello

If you have a product key on a sticker in your computer, this means that you have an OEM product key. If you have OEM keys, this means that the windows you have here is preinstalled.

If you reinstall windows OEM copy, you must use either the original manufacturer recovery disk or the recovery partition. If you use one of the people, should not be put to any start-up because the windows OEM versions are technically preactivated.

If you don't have a disc or a recovery partition, you can contact your OEM (DELL) so that they can send you a disk. Alternatively, you can contact Microsoft Support just in case. : D

  • HP20002D19WM came with no software (cyberlink) key and certificates of authenticity for windows

I just bought the HP20002D19WM, which came with no software (cyberlink) key and certificates of authenticity for windows. I can't use any program cyberlink with a key number to enter. Also if I would give for somereason I wonder in my number of windows I would not be able to since I have ever trevieved it

    This is the original factory specifications for your laptop HP 2000-2d19WM. All Cyberlink OEM software should work without key, because it is not mandatory for the installed OEM mass products. Regarding the Windows product key, see Activation of Windows 8 product;

    • OEM Activation 3.0 (OA3) at the factory. A digital product key (DPK) is encrypted and installed on the motherboard BIOS during the manufacturing process. Windows 8 will be ignited automatically the first time that the computer is connected to the Internet. With systems activated by OA3, most of the computer's hardware can be replaced without the need to reactivate the software from Microsoft.

original title: try to install clean vista

You must set your BIOS to start on the DVD from the beginning to the top.

You have a good DVD of Vista (OEM/upgrade or full version) and NOT only a recovery disk provided by the manufacturer of the PC (or you burn you).

For a DVD upgrade, follow the method here and make sure you format your HARD drive thanks to the tools of "advanced install" on the DVD.

If you have a full version of Vista rather than a version upgrade then just do the first part of the above procedure.

    Hello:

Before attempting to install Vista, I have a set of recovery disks where you find all the drivers for Vista.

There will be none for your PC on the support page.

To help you get started, here are the links to the drivers I should work for your PC.

1 chip set. First, install and restart. First download is what you want.

However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.

So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.

    Hi Ribhu,

How did you start the Windows XP installation? This is the start of the Windows CD or Windows itself?

You can try a new installation of Windows XP after formatting the hard drive Vista and check.

You can consult the following wire link and check if it helps.

How can I replace Vista with XP?

Note: The above mentioned thread contains third party links.

Where should I go from here

    Hello

You cannot install Defender in Vista; It is already part of the Vista operating system.

    Read about Defender:

If you use Norton, AVG, Avira, Microsoft Security Essentials, McAfee, etc. the default action is for Windows Defender must be disabled, that these AntiVirus programs have their own Antispyware Applications.

    There is nothing to worry.

Using both programs at the same time can cause system conflicts, etc.

If you are using one of the above AntiVirus programs, this Information from David O - Support Engineer shows you how to manually enable Windows Defender (disregard information from uninstalling; not possible in Vista):

    http://answers.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/Forum/windows_vista-security/how-do-i-manually-start-Windows-Defender-in-Vista/dab845b2-9ba5-47F3-9518-c4c6781e7d5b

"Go to start, Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services. Look for Windows Defender.

Right click and select Properties , ensure that Startup Type is automatic.

Once modified, click apply and OK.

Quit and restart your computer. Check the back take the same path to confirm that Windows Defender has started"

If you want to have additional protection against malware using the version FREE of Malwarebytes AntiMalware:

The only FULL of Windows 8 Pro version would be the OEM System Builder... everything else is an upgrade...

Unlike Win 7 and earlier versions, Microsoft is not offering one COMPLETE Win 8 other than OEM package...

The difference is that the OEM version has no support from Microsoft... If you have a problem, you are on your own... Just enjoy the Forums and for any issues that arise...
