    Hello

Have you checked the microphone recording level?
Microphone level settings are in the utility of Microphone level.

Hold down on the speaker icon in the taskbar and select form of recording devices submenu. Select the Microphone and the Properties tab.
On the level tab, move the Microphone slider to increase or decrease the level of the microphone.

If you feel that the volume of the microphone level is inadequate, move the slider for Microphone Boost to a higher level.

  • Satellite A60: Sound quality poor microphone when you use the USB phone

I have problems with the microphone/recording quality on my A60 including but not limited to situations when you use a USB phone. Talk to the USB phone produces a lot of static when it is used with the A60, which is not the case when I use another laptop.
The two laptops have the same VOIP software and "simplyphone.

Any ideas what could be the problem? Drivers?

Toshiba support suggests to see if a system restore will improve things, but I am reluctant to go there for a questionable result.

    Hello

I don t think that the driver update will help you. The operating system uses the simple common Microsoft USB drivers. I think we should get the problem somewhere else.

You can try to disable the power save option in-USB hub-> properties > Device Manager. I noticed that if energy saving is enabled on ports USB some external devices could not work with maximum efficiency.
In addition, you should disconnect other USB devices during the test the USB microphone.
I think that it of not impossible that some external USB devices might have a negative influence on the use of a USB microphone.

PS: I found a site interesting on tests of micro USB

  • I can't activate microphone on Satellite 2435-s255

    I use Win XP system...
Portable satellite 2435-s255 uses AC 97 sound card... I tried several drivers (this I have on my cd of toshiba, another realtek and even some site...). All works (I can hear the sound through the speakers), but I can not ACTIVATE the microphone recording... The microphone is still cut off and I can't uncheck that...

-Yes, I plugged the microphone in the right place
-the audio drivers are working well... all devices are properly installed without error...
-Currently, I installed ADVANCE AC97 Audio driver (ver. 5.10.0.4010 dated dated: 2002-09-14) I can't find anything to day ahead and the same driver is on the cd of toshiba...
-the microphone is 100% ok - I checked it on another computer

    Help, please
    Thanks in advance

You are 100% sure that the MIC port is not faulty?

Everything that you have done is just, and I really don't know if there is something wrong with the drivers, especially if you use the original Toshiba sound driver. If the hardware is not faulty, I think, one must work.

Having had several portable Toshiba older, always pre-installed with recovery media, but I've never had problems with the use of the mic.

    Hello team,

When you use Skype to video chat online, my microphone recording device began an absurd behavior. I can hear clearly the voice of the other party, but my voice that them is very disturbed with a lot of background noise. Even when I check its recording through the sound recorder and read it, it sounds too similarly troubled. Can anyone please help...

    Hi Priya,

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community Forum.

I understand that the other party is unable to hear your voice clearly during your Skype conversation and also through the sound recorder.

  • Microphone voice not recognize

Before you start anything saying aleardy ive done and it's useless, Ive checked the volumes, updated maps, connected to the line to the blue connector and pink pretty much everything, so what im trying to figure out how to make my microphone works so I can record videos with my voice, but everytime I try a solution to solve this nothing works and all these solutions are significantly the also, it annoys me so much, I just want that my microphone to recognize my voice and the fact that should work afterwards. Thank you

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

    1. What happens when you try to record videos with your voice? Do you have a
      error message?
    2. Recognizes the Microphone input?
    3. What is the brand and model of the computer?

I would suggest trying the following steps and check if this is useful:

Step 1: Use of Windows sound recorder to test the
    microphone.

You can use this section to find out if the computer can record a signal from the microphone and reading. Use Windows sound recorder to create an audio file using the following steps:

    1. Plug the microphone into the computer.
    2. In the search box, type sound recorder , and then open it.
    3. Click start recording and speak into the microphone.
    4. When you are finished recording, click on stop recording.
    5. Screen automatically opens.
    6. Type a file name and click Save. A type WAV or WMA file is created in the
      Documents folder.

If you can record the Audio using the Microphone using the method above then the
Microphone works very well.  Now, it should work in any application that Supports Microphone. If the computer records the audio using the method above, then it might be a problem with the Microphone settings. Now, check the following settings.

Step 2: Activation of the Microphone.

    1. Plug the microphone into the computer.
    2. In the search box, type sound recorder , and then open it.
    3. Click start recording and speak into the microphone.
    4. Tab showing a signal detected for the Microphone recording device

Note: Microphone icon should have checkmark on it. If there is no checkmark, it means it is disabled. If there is no green mark on micro it never works. To activate the Microphone, right click on Microphone and click Activate. If you do not see the Microphone in the list, right click on the white space and select devices see the disabled. Then you'd see the
Microphone. However, if you don't see the green check mark on it, right-click on it and click Activate. And also to select the Microphone and click on set as default (if defined as default button is active).

If you see the green checkmark on Microphone the Microphone really works.

Try to run the recording Audio troubleshooter

Open the troubleshooting of Audio recording

I hope this helps. Please let us know the results. Feel free to write us again for any help.
