Recurring appointments of blackBerry Smartphones

So here's the problem: I'm currently Blackberry desktop manager 4.5 installed and tried also with 4.6, same problem. I have the 8330 and Sprint v4.3.0.127. I just got it two days ago. I have Outlook 2007 and I try to sync my appointments. My contacts synchronize perfectly well, but the problem is with the appointments. Here is the problem :--> all my recuring meetings that have been setup to someone else, that I agreed to see the place 4 hours less on my blackberry. So if the appointment made at 07:00, it will appear as 03:00. --> All recuring meetings I have install, show perfectly well high. All non-recurring meetings show as well. What could be the problem here, this problem occurs with 4.5 and 4.6. In addition, I don't work with a BES I have BIS. I need to fix this problem.

I eventually found the problem, looked at one of the sites of Smartphone.  A treo user was having a similar problem with Outlook 2007 and I tried what he did and it worked.

Here is the explanation I also posted on the Blackberry Forums:

Pretty much what you need to is, for all of the recurring appointments in Outlook 2007, open them and edit them.

Here are the steps:

1. double click on the recurring meeting.

2. choose "open the series.

3. then next to "Back" you will see "Time zone", click it.

4. after clicking on 'Time zone', double click on frequency and you will see your time zone here.

5. after that click on 'Ok', and then click Save & Close.

After you do this for all of your recurring appointments, try again, syncing with your blackberry and it will update with the correct time.

I have literally spent 5 hours trying to figure out this problem and reading several forums, even Smartphone forums and someone was having this same problem.  That's what they did, and I decided to try it and it worked!

So I guess the problem is with Outlook 2007 and not Blackberry.  This problem only happen for the periodic meetings that someone sent me, the periodic meetings that I had Setup, has worked well for me.  I guess something to do with Outlook does not store the time zone?  Not sure?

Let me know if you're still having problems.

  • Calendar appointments new blackBerry Smartphones Synching

I have install the desktop software to have 2-way synchronization between Outlook and the calendar. If I add an entry in Outlook, it appears on the device, and if I edit an existing entry on the device, the change appears in Outlook.  These calendar entries appear in a calendar called "Default". There is also another calendar called "Desktop", which has an CICAL service book tied to it, but there is no CICAL for the calendar 'by default'.

If I add a new appointment on the device, it only will allow him to be added to the "Desktop" calendar, but because it is not one that is being synchronized with Outlook, the appointment are not transferred to Outlook.

I don't want to change to sysnchronisation wireless since this doesn't seem to work for my default Outlook calendar that is in my local pst file rather than on the exchange server account.

    Any suggestions?

    Hey ddp1,.

To solve this problem I suggest merge the databases of calendar and then reset the configuration file to synchronize.

Follow the steps in this article: www.blackberry.com/btsc/KB19240

Then go to BlackBerry Desktop Manager and click Organizer and click on reset.  Then re-setup the synchronization.

  • Help with calendar with Outlook sync blackBerry Smartphones to all appointments will not sync...

I'm not a great tech, but I have some skills good enough for a girl, if I say so myself... but I'm so frustrated... I need help.

This is my first public post... So I hope that I give all the information but who will help, if I missed something, please let me know.

    Here is some background info:

    I have a BB "BOLD"

I use it NOT on a company (network)

I sync my bb with my dell

    Windows Vista (UGH!)

    Outlook - Version 6.0.6001 Service Pack 1 Build 6001

My calendar and my contacts are the most important reason, I have a bb

    My contacts are FINE

    My schedule is a MESS

I have 2 separate email addresses work well my bb... For the purposes of his post, I will refer to them as

    [email protected] and

    [email protected]

When I do appointments in my work calendar, I do one of 2 things to get all my appointments on the BB

Plan my gmail as a participant in the designation address or

Prior to the appointment to my gmail from my work email address

When I make an appointment directly from my BB I do it by selecting Menu > new = my default settings of the account gmail under the 'send '.

    BB News:

    When I'm in the calendar and select > Menu.Options > calendars > I have 3 options

[email protected] who has (518 entries)

Default device that has (157 results)

[email protected] who has (429 entries)

When I go to the Menu > Options > Advanced Options > Services > (CICAL) by default is [email protected] , it shows that I have options to select my Gmail or my .mac address

That is the problem - it did not used to happen, and I frankly did not know that my backup was messed up so I don't know how long this is happening.

    When I sync with Outlook

There are only 518 appointments that are synchronized

I can't get the other 157 (defect of the unit) + 429 (mac) to sync with my outlook

Can someone help me to get them all on my gmail calendar? or in my outlook so that I can then sync back with the BB

I will not sync my bb with my mac

    Here's what I tired:

    • Yelling at the computer
    • Yelling in Spanish at the BlackBerry
    • ignoring the two
    • I stopped myself to throw both of them against the wall.

    But seriously

I put the BB Desktop Manager to perform a one-way synchronization > bb to outlook = NOTHING only synchronize gmail

I changed the (CICAL) to my mac address and synchronized = NOTHING - only synchronization gmail

I am at a loss and would appreciate any help.

    Hello

We will remember and then on MAC records.

Outlook contains records of 158 of the associated Gmail Calendar.

The calendar by default folders must be cleared and restored to the associated Gmail Calendar.

The Blackberry associated gmail calendar resulting will be then synchronized with Outlook to add the former default records

resulting calendars synced to Outlook and Blackberry.

Reading this, I propose more than once. Method 3 is what we do.

Let me know, tomorrow, what questions you have the procedure so that we can ensure we succeed.

KB16063 Unexpected results occur when syncing with a BlackBerry smartphone that has several CICAL service records.

Let me know how it goes!

  • BlackBerry Smartphones appointment recurring sync problem with Outlook

Outlook 2003 SP3 has been synchronized with my curve perfectly until a few weeks ago.  Suddenly the clock wants to remove all my recurring appointments in my calendar in Outlook - hundreds of them.  I opted for no synchronization.  After reviewing the forums, I found a recommendation to delete all files from my Intellisync folder and try again.  So I did, and then resync the value upward my Desktop Manager and started around.  Amen - he wanted to remove all my recurring appointments, so I advanced and accepted the additions to my Outlook.  Now I have duplicates of all appointments on my BB!  My vision is OK, but it did not get my BB calendar additions.  Sheesh!

Want to a * beep * (who really does not go through and remove all duplicates!), I would of course like to some lawyers!  Thank you in advance.

hook up desktop manager backup and restore-advanced-find calendar on the right side and click on the clear button (make sure that the device is plugged)

  • History of the calendar to blackBerry Smartphones don't keep forever, only 800 appointments

I want to keep my appointments in the calendar on my Blackberry calendar indefinitely.  I have this option in Outlook (916 go to this day) and on my 8320 where there is an option to select the story in a few days (in increments of 15 up to 90), or forever.  I chose to always.  However, when I sync with Outlook via Desktop Manager 4.7 v, my Blackberry wants to delete all appointments beyond a certain number of 800 in Outlook.  Is there a way around this, or are 800 appointments actually Blackberry interpretation of "Forever".

Sorry I can't be of any additional assistance but I had the same problem and almost gave up on the BB to come back from the Ipaq, but I persevered and everything came out good, now I'll stay with the BB.

There may be someone else who can provide you with more details there.

When you accept a solution of any could you please select the appropriate box.

  • BlackBerry smartphones is this a problem with my Bold 9700 flash memory?

A few annoying problems recently with my Bold 9700.

First, my Blackberry has suddenly started to massively delete recent appointments in my calendar, which will attempt to remove them from my Outlook calendar when I synchronize the device to my laptop.  This has not happened before, and I checked to make sure that the schedule is set to never delete nominations, and it is set correctly.

Second, my Blackberry App World application (both on the device and online) does not display one of my installed applications, except one, but they are all still on the device and working properly.  I'm 18 apps installed from BB App World, beyond the pre-installed applications on the device, which are less than 10 MB in total size.

The reason I think that the problem could be linked to the internal flash memory is that whenever I want to install an application, I usually get a message indicating there is enough memory and I have to uninstall some other applications to free up space.  When I checked my memory earlier, he said that had less than 1 MB.  I restarted the machine and now it tells me there is 12.2 MB of available space, which always seems incredibly low for me since I installed only about 10 MB of my own applications.  So, I delete the file all attachments of the device and do not keep e-mail on the device beyond 30 days, and all media is stored on flash cards, not in the device memory.

The most important question I have to solve is how to prevent the device to delete data from calendar (it keeps recurring appointments, but has been deleted and everything before about two weeks ago).

    Hello

It's an automatic protection mechanism with BBs. During the AppMemory (not the device, no media memory card memory) get low, the BB must start deleting things to preserve its ability to operate. Unfortunately, he really can't go after data... it can't really go after installed applications. Here are some tips to use:

    • KB02843 What is the function of low memory manager on the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB14320 How to maximize space and power battery life on the BlackBerry smartphone
      • KB14213 Call logs, SMS text and email messages are deleted from the BlackBerry smartphone
    • KB10183 E-mail messages are removed from the BlackBerry device until the messages expire

In addition, it is always important to correctly close applications when you are finished with them. Using the back or on the red button won't do that - those leave the app to decide what to do... and some let themselves memory-resident, consumes resources on your BB, slowing down the overall performance. On the contrary, to close an application, tap on and select 'Close' or 'Quit'... which force the application to be closed, freeing resources for your new use it consumed. Some applications will always be running (in general - BBMessenger, browser, homescreen, phone and Messages)... but, you should always close them properly - especially the browser... If we leave on a web page, it will not consume only additional resources, but the power of the battery as well.

Now, AppMemory is not just for the apps... the real BB operating system is here as well. Depending on the options you have included, which might be things bloating as well.

    Good luck!

  • BlackBerry smartphone error synchronizing Calendar using Desktop Manager 4.7, Outlook 2003, on the storm

I just installed Desktop Manager on my PC (Windows XP).

    Contacts sync fine.

    Calendar does not synchronize:

"Schedule of playback device" is fine.

    "Treatment device calendar" is fine.

'Reading of MS Outlook calendar' is where the error occurs:

Desktop Manager starts to read Outlook 988 items and constantly stops at the point #227, with one of the two error messages:

    (1) ' reported Intellisync, unknown error"or

    (2) 'operation ended unexpectedly.'

    I followed the directions for:

How to enable advanced logging for Intellisync because of the failure of the synchronization to the BlackBerry smartphone

    to

    http://www.BlackBerry.com/BTSC/microsites/search.do?cmd=displayKC&docType=kc&externalId=KB01451&SLIC...

This operation required that I change the iloptcfg.cfg file.

    Still no luck. any suggestions?

around on this issue... the only way I found to fix this was to reset the device completely and synchronize "fresh" from my computer. Note: has happened since then, and every time that it is when I use the camera to change a recurring APPT. For now, my lessons learned: whenever I need to edit or delete a recurring appt, I do it from the computer so I do not get locked out of sync to the storm.

  • BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry to take apart and put back together.

No, I don't mean remove the physical device.

My company (finally) made me a Blackberry (Bold 9650) so I could learn to do things like it backup, restore and so immediately and (better) to provide technical support for others.

So, I would like to know:

    1. how to back up my Blackberry?

I have e-mails, contacts and appointments calendar and your Internet favorites.

Would I need (as I believe...) to connect the device to a computer via a USB cable and somehow save these items on the computer?

Is it a synchronization for this software?

    2 restoration

I guess I want to reverse the process above.

    3 secure wipe

Some time ago, in another section, I was told that it would probably be necessary, if a Blackberry into a movement of one BES/BPS server to another, to wipe the device and then turn it back on.

Wipe the unit would, I guess, delete the personal data, hence the master back to the top and restore operations.

What a wipe erases exactly (and what don't we not delete)?

    4. What is (re) activation after a wipe?

Wiping the Blackberry does include eliminating the activation information (I guess for that), it seems that I have to reactivate with my ISP (Verizon, in my case), correct?

Now, I won't do this 3 times a week, every week, but can I reactivate my Blackberry as I want? I just call Verizon like I did at the beginning?

    Hello

Yes, the subject line is a little off the mark! I'm afraid that some people may not even venture into your thread accordingly. However...

Hmmm... I'm not sure on the migration of one BES to the other, but I know that a WIPE has no effect on the it policy. I don't know if the migration to an another BES replaces the policy of IT or not. Nevertheless:

Reactivation as with the carrier. For the Association, is a lack of prejudice no-fault to reactivate with them. Simply dial * 228 and select Option 1 (then again and select Option 2). You don't really have to call and talk to them because your BB is fully registered on their network the first time you activate... on CDMA networks, there is much more "hardcoded" into the network (where the greatest difficulty taking CDMA devices and use them on another CDMA network).

    I hope this helps!
