(Redirected) Backup and restore with Windows 10 could not be updated

I received a message that I had to update Dell backup and restoration since I was in my first month trying Windows 10. Started the update, got about 1 - 1 1/2 minutes, then got an error message.

Patch file failed:
C:\Program Files (x 86) \Dell Backup and Recovery\QTtool Lite.exe

Clicked OK, light timer counts down, but the progress bar would move not to give the impression, that he had won as a result of the above error so I stopped it. What is happening to others?

  • Backup and restore in Windows 7 will not make an incremental backup

    Hello.

I have about 400 GB of backup files, for most audio (I have a home studio). Backup and restoration continues to do a new backup full instead of an incremental backup. I tried to disable "Windows Media Sharing whatever" and has no effect. I found the registry entry that the so-called forces a backup under certain circumstances, if I understand correctly. I put the value '0' and he still makes no difference - copy Windows files that I know have not changed over the YEARS and to create a new full backup. My current full backup is December 2014 on a 1 TB external hard drive. It is the backup that I added to-probably on a maximum of 20 additional concerts.

This is important because in 400 concerts, I have neither the time nor the space to do a full backup every time. I searched these forums and around the web and found nothing more disable sharing of Windows Media Services. For now I'm reduced to manually copy the new audio files on a backup drive, which is heavy at least when dealing with the whims of my Audio sequencer for recording methods and organization of files.

Please let me know how I can make an incremental backup instead of a full backup of my hard drive. Thanks for your help.

IMHO, I wouldn't play with the built-in backup.  It is, at best, kludgy, depends on the OS partition, is inflexible and not easy to use.

IMHO, I would not trust my data or spend my time on it.

In addition, the following file locations is not found because they no longer exist. So why the backup wizard continues to look for and how to remove the backup set? I guess the error code following each line means simply that records cannot be found. Is this correct?

  • How to create a recovery media factory with Dell backup and restore on Windows 10 1.6.2.4 v?

I got today a Dell inspiron 3521 a customer, without warranty, after some checking, I discovered that the hard disk has errors and needs to be replaced

No problem, the only problem is... I have no installation of Dell Windows 8 media. The laptop is updated to Windows 10 last year. In programs and features, I see that Dell backup and restore 1.6.2.4 v is installed. When I search the Dell backup or watch all the apps installed I can't find the program. So I can't run the program to create installation floppies

    When I go to:

program/PC (x 86) / Dell backup and recovery, I see a lot of files and 4 records, but no configuration file.

So my question is, how do you create a Dell Windows 8 installation media? Can I use after installing the new hard drive, reinstall Windows?

For good order, I can't, until now still approach the hard drive.

Who knows the solution to install the software dell of origin on the new drive?

The application must be updated for Windows 10 - you can get it as a download from Dell.

However, if 10 is already installed and enabled, you can also manually install WIndows 10 without the need of a product key - that way, however, do retain none of the applications Dell preinstalled on the system (which is not very important, as some of them such as PowerDVD would require a paid upgrade to work with Windows 10 in any case).

  • "Backup and restore" in Windows 7 saves nothing, except the data files?

I want to save my 'Favorites' of internet list, messages stored in Live mail and my address book in Live mail.  It seems that the "Backup and restore" function in Windows 7 saves only data files unless you choose the option of system image, and then it is not yet clear and seems to save much larger files that I could put on a DVD.

Can someone direct me to information on this topic or suggest a better method of simple backup.

By default, Windows 7 saving files in libraries and folders for all users.  That includes everything in your user folder: data applications, contacts, desktop, downloads, Favorites, music, photos, documents, etc..  Windows Live Mail stores messages in the application data folder, so they are automatically backed up.

The system image contains everything on your computer.

Both types of backup can create more data that a DVD can hold.  I recommend that you get an external drive for backups. Owner, Boulder computer Maven

Backup stores data in a compressed format on optical drives and blu - ray is an optical device device, I don't think you can use Windows built in backup and restore functionality.

You must use a backup solution 3rd party backup on the Blu - ray disc.

  • Regarding activation and the process of backup and restore in windows 7

First of all thanks a lot for the reply of my previous post about windows activation.

I activated my copy of windows 7 Home premium system builder license successfully in my custom bench. I ordered an ssd drive and I want to install fresh in my ssd and avoid the cloning. Now my question is after installing windows SSD it will activate normally as it was for my hard drive (I used the online activation process). If this isn't the case, then what's the process?
My next question is after the installation I want to create a file system image of my windows (in SSD) c partition to external hard drive for security. But currently, I have a lot of content in my HARD drive. So if I use windows system image backup option it will also create a backup of the rest of the partition so or I can choose only drive c (my ssd only)? nozzles it will save a lot of space and during recovery, I can only restore C drive and leave intact records. Or I have to use a third party s/w for the recovery of the image?
    Please help me...

  • Backup and restore with MacPro and Pegasus using Time Machine

    Hello

I have more than one mac mini, and Mac Pro.  I have external Pegasus 12 TB and two external hard drives of 4 TB.

Im trying to back up all servers in those storage unit.

I can see them in every window of servers as being selectable but I get an error of error OSSTATUS 2

It was suggested to connect all readers behind the time machine backup, but it has not been that reliable.

Do you have a suggestion of how to back up each server Pegasus 12 TB and 4 TB two external disks?

I can't wait to hear your thoughts

    Joe

From a given computer, you can back up all drives connected locally to this Time Machine backup drive.

The backup drive Time Machine for a particular computer can be a locally attached disk, a drive attached to a "Tall" Time Capsule or a network drive 'shared' by another Mac on your network. The Time Machine backup disk cannot be a NAS drive, because the restoration of these discs is not completely reliable.

The space required for the proper functioning of Time Machine is at least two times greater than the amount to save, and 2.5 to 3 times more is recommended.

  • How to backup and restore of Windows medial Player library?

I rebuilt a WMP library several times due to changes in operating systems, accidents, etc.  Re-creation of playlists and of reloading the files of music becomes tedious. I know that you can have just the library automatically fill up again, but I did a lot of changes to customize the library and I would like to save the library and restore it if necessary. Is it possible to do? I'd appreciate any help in this area.

You can try to use a Windows backup and backup the file/database library.

  • Windows 8 could not apply updates, changes, without system restart

Hi, I have a question for the community. I inherited laptop family which had been neglected for a year or two, and the user only became interested in this topic when it became virtually unusable. Usually, I have no problem to fix things, but this one left me speechless. I am preparing him to be his main portable College. All answers are appreciated! Thank you.

    The problem

    1. The first thing I did was clean reallyyyy good. The anti-virus scanner found and quarantined 17 virus, and 74 infected files and those isolated thus found malware scanner. I did two of each type of scan, and he showed clean. So I don't know, I work with a system bug free.
    2. Then I went to Windows Update and saw that there were 102 important updates waiting to be installed. I laughed pretty hard and then install them. There is no problem downloading or installation of updates, and it prompted me to restart my computer.
    3. After the restart, he said briefly that he was applying updates. And then he said: "failure Configuring Windows Updates. Changes in recovery', and he stays on this screen for nearly an hour and let me finally reconnect.
    4. To ebb in Windows Update, it has installed updates not listed as 'Impossible '.

    What I tried

    1. The tool for troubleshooting Windows 8 "online, Mr. Fix it."
    2. Online draft and the installation of the Windows update that updates the Windows Update program (I don't have the number on me, but I can pick up if necessary)
    3. Installation of a few at a time
    4. Only install the update as soon as possible
    5. Update of article 8.1; He won't let me not until I install the remaining updates, which I am obviously unable to do

    Systems specifications

    • HP laptop
    • Windows 8.0
    • 30 months of age
    • Zero, a hardware or software issues that are known (in addition to Windows Update)

What can I do? I did the basic troubleshooting steps, and I thought before that I really jack he is trying obscure solutions I should post LOL. Thank you!!!

And after adding only two programs of installing the base, YET the the DO COULD NOT.

Of course, here, I could see that he had to now be one of the two programs, Google Chrome and Comodo Antivirus.

It turns out that these errors were caused by a misconfigured firewall and an excess of zeal, even if my comodo firewall with the same settings on Windows 7 had no problems.

But apparently, it considers that the program Windows Update in Windows 8 is a bit sketchy haha.

A simple rule change fixed it! Thank you.
