(Redirected) received a defective laptop and Dell is not to honor the warranty, even if they cease of me they will-7 months and counting

I bought a laptop from Dell 7 months ago and the fan does not work so he's attended more than 100 * C the first time I turned it and since then it did not work properly. I bought for work and were not able to use it. After 5 months of countless phone calls and emails their escalation Department has finally decided to send me a replacement - it was 2 months ago. I have no computer and Dell has thousands. My experience has been so stressful. I can lose my job because I'm not able to do the contracts that I took on. Sometimes, I was on the phone - be transferred from one agent to another for more than 2 hours, and then they cut me. Does anyone have any suggestions? Better Business Bureau? I'm typing this on my old desk as my laptop $ 1000 is unusable except as a frisbee. I would never recommend anyone buying a Dell - unless you have money to throw away. Worst experience of this kind ever. I bought a base coat of Columbia, which had a design flaw, and they were replaced by a coat with a value of 4 X which was my first purchase. They told me that they never "downgrade". Not so with Dell - they wanted to send me a refurbished computer. So frustrating - which can be fact-nothing!

  • hard drive went and HP said not included in the warranty?

    I'm stumped.

    My computer would not start.

HP now tells me that it is not included in the warranty, since it must have had spilled water on it, or dropped.

    This is not true.

He has simply stopped working on me.

How can they be sure that it was not a mechanical problem?

They told me to call customer service, but the number they gave me 866-442-7029 is not correct.

    What should I do now?

    Well,.

Finally, we have the bottom of things.

After agreeing only not treatment of me the gift to the 866-684-3620 (I refused to accept that it is a failure due to misuse and pay the fee), it tells me that there is nothing he can do to help me more.

"You want me to fully waive the fee and I can't do it."

So, I asked if there was someone else, I can speak to, superior to him.

He then "climbed the case", and I got a call a day later, Eric, whose callback number was 877-917-4380 (unit 88). It turns out that Eric is a real, American HP customer service agent. He reviewed the notes and me (hope you're sitting) says:

Of course, the guarantee is covered and there was no user caused damage.

The reason I received misinformation of donation to this other number was that I asked that they also return me damaged the old hard disk (that I can try to get the data off it... see this article: http://www.geekyprojects.com/storage/how-to-recover-data-from-a-broken-hard-drive/ )

    )

and since (the hard drive broke his back) is not included in the warranty, I was being charged for an out of warranty service.

    !!!

I told Eric that Don does nothing of the sort. He told me that the damage to the car has been documented as being caused user and was therefore not in the warranty.

Eric told me that misunderstood gift probably notes.

(Strange thing is that people in India or in as much that the HP number 800-474-6836, also said that the damage is not included in the warranty and I have to pay for it. When I pressed them to find out why this is so, they quoted me the number of 866-684-3620.)

In any case, I haggled a bit with Eric and he was quite kind to put in a special request that the repair and the former player returned to me with the machine (remember, they throw out otherwise). Indeed, it has been, and I am always grateful.

    Just a couple of points.

    (1) the gift of first wanted to charge me $270 for the new disc repair. When I refused, he says can "take labor costs on and just charge me for parts... $180. Well, google it. Road costs about $40. How honest is that?

    (2) I called this number 866-684-3620 the next day and said the gentleman who responded (this time it's Mark, not Don) what happened. In my innocence, I told him I'm relaying it so that the next time someone asks the old rear drive (I guess his commune... who wants to kick back all their data), you tell them 'it was a damaged caused user. " Well, Mark told me that he couldn't care less and would not do anything with the information that I just gave him. Would not relay it to anyone.

Later, I realized that the number of 866-684-3620 is not HP, but the number for people to Quanta Computer, which are a company who perform repairs for HP. clearly, it is in their interest to do a repair and to be paid by the owner of the laptop, not HP. (HP does not pay $180 to replace a hard drive that cost me the retail $40!)

Bottom Line: Don't download jostled by the people of 866-684-3620. Ask that the case "degenerate." You will get a HP person and this time an intellegent and speak English.

For other examples of complaints of people buffeted by staff at 866-684-3620 (Quanta Computer), just google

    866-684-3620.

At the end of the day, however, I would like to thank Eric and also HP, to fix my computer and the hard drive back.

(By the way, the best place to get the HDD replacement PCB is: http://www.onepcbsolution.com/ .) Change the pcb often allows you to recover your data.)

  • My Hp Pavilion laptop 2244sa g6 does not come with the product key for windows8. Is this normal?

    Hello

My Hp Pavilion laptop 2244sa g6 does not come with the product key for windows8. Is this normal? I can't see it anywhere, should I worry?

Some laptops, like my Envy 17-3002ea loan, have the certificate of authenticity Windows hidden in the compartment where the hard drive and the battery are.  First try.

Other portable latest and which may include yours, have the Windows license key encrypted in the BIOS.  There is a thread on the Microsoft communities that verifies that. The thread is worth reading.

Just got a new modem/router DSL which is wired connected to my office.  I have access to the internet by opening Internet Explorer my network and sharing Center says that I am not connected to the internet, even though I am. There is a red cross between my computer and the internet in the network and sharing Center.  Also, on the lower right part of my office internet connection symbol has a red x.  I had a home network before this new modem/router.  Now, I can't put my home network since the system says that I have no network connection.  How can I fix it?

    Hi cpark3,

Thank you for writing to Microsoft Communities. The problem description, I understand that you receive a message from the network and sharing center that you are not connected to the internet. Provide the following information:

    ·         Did you do changes on the computer before the show?

    Follow these methods.

    Method 1: Follow these steps:

Step 1: Start the computer in safe mode with network and check.

    Startup options (including safe mode)

Step 2: If the problem does not persist in safe mode with networking, perform a clean boot to see if there is a software conflict as the clean boot helps eliminate software conflicts.

Note: After completing the steps in the clean boot troubleshooting, follow the link step 7 to return the computer to a Normal startupmode.

Did you use the recovery process HP plant or install using a different operating system disk? If the latter, you need to install the drivers for all your hardware, including drivers for wireless network cards. You will get only the pilot specific support for your laptop model HP Web site tech.

I HAVE A VERY OLD DELL LAPTOP THAT WILL NOT START ALL THE TIME, AND WHEN THAT HAPPENS IT LOOKS LIKE SA WORKS VERY HARD!

It seems that two things must happen... Three if you don't have good backups (it would be the first thing * if * you have not any outside of the machine.)

    (1) the material must be tested.  By restarting and pressing the combination of keys at the right time could test the hard/readers/speed control (CTRL + ALT + D, on a dell computer before starting at startup of Windows.)  For other tests - Dell probably put on a partition or sent a CD with the machine that allows you to perform a battery of tests on the... video, audio equipment, etc.

    (2) a restoration clean install a factory should probably be made * if * hardware testing are in agreement.  You could probably clean the machine by following the steps I'll give you - but knowing no more about the problem that we are so far... If that does not better... it's perception, or something so serious, that a clean install is probably the only real 'next step '.

(And if the new facility does not solve it and analysis of material found nothing - that's the perception, or something (material) defective which is not be picked up).

    Search for malware:

Download, install, execute, update and perform analyses complete system with the two following applications:

Remove anything they find. Reboot when necessary. (You can uninstall one or both when finished.)

Search online with eSet Online Scanner.

The less you have to run all the time, most things you want to run will perform:

Use Autoruns to understand this all starts when your computer's / when you log in. Look for whatever it is you do not know usingGoogle (or ask here.) You can hopefully figure out if there are things from when your computer does (or connect) you don't not need and then configure them (through their own built-in mechanisms is the preferred method) so they do not - start using your resources without reason.

You can download and use Process Explorer to see exactly what is taking your time processor/CPU and memory. This can help you to identify applications that you might want to consider alternatives for and get rid of all together.

Do a house cleaning and the dust of this hard drive:

You can free up disk space (will also help get rid of the things that you do not use) through the following steps:

Windows XP should take between 4.5 and 20 GB * with * an Office suite, editing Photo software, alternative Internet browser (s), various Internet plugins and a host of other things installed.

You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
-Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

You can control the amount of space your system restore can use...

    1. Click Start, right click my computer and then click Properties.
    2. click on the System Restore tab.
    3. highlight one of your readers (or C: If you only) and click on the button "settings".
4 change the percentage of disk space you want to allow... I suggest moving the slider until you have about 1 GB (1024 MB or close to that...)
    5. click on OK. Then click OK again.

You can control the amount of space used may or may not temporary Internet files...

Empty the temporary Internet files and reduce the size, that it stores a size between 64 MB and 128 MB...

-Open a copy of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
    -Select TOOLS - Internet Options.
-On the general tab in the section 'Temporary Internet files', follow these steps:
-Click on 'Delete the Cookies' (click OK)
-Click on "Settings" and change the "amount of disk space to use: ' something between 64 MB and 128 MB. (There may be many more now.)
    -Click OK.
-Click on 'Delete files', then select "Delete all offline content" (the box), and then click OK. (If you had a LOT, it can take 2 to 10 minutes or more).
-Once it's done, click OK, close Internet Explorer, open Internet Explorer.

You can use an application that scans your system for the log files and temporary files and use it to get rid of those who:

It is a good idea at this time to ensure that you continue to get the updates you need. This will help you ensure that your system update is ready to do it for you.

Download and run the MSRT tool manually:

(Ignore the details and download the tool to download and save to your desktop, run it.)

    Reset.

Download/install the latest program Windows installation (for your operating system):
    (Windows XP 32-bit: WindowsXP-KB942288-v3 - x 86 .exe )
(Download and save it to your desktop, run it.)

    Reset.

    and...

Download the latest version of Windows Update (x 86) agent here:

... and save it to the root of your C:\ drive. After you register on theroot of the C:\ drive, follow these steps:

    AutoScan--> RUN and type:

    --> Click OK.

(If asked, select 'Run'). --> Click on NEXT--> select 'I agree' and click NEXT--> where he completed the installation, click "Finish"...

    Reset.

Now reset your Windows with this FixIt components update (you * NOT * use the aggressive version):
How to reset the Windows Update components?

    Reset.

Now that your system is generally free of malicious software (assuming you have an AntiVirus application), you've cleaned the "additional applications" that could be running and picking up your precious memory and the processor, you have authorized out of valuable and makes disk space as there are no problems with the drive itself and your Windows Update components are updates and should work fine - it is only only one other thing youpouvez wish to make:

Get and install the hardware device last drivers for your system hardware/system manufacturers support and/or download web site.

If you want, come back and let us know a bit more information on your system - particularly the brand / model of the system, you have - and maybe someone here can guide you to the place s x of law to this end. This isn't 100% necessary - but I'd be willing to bet that you would gain some performance and features in making this part.

  • HP pavallion 15e019tx: laptop computer charger not covered by the warranty of 3 years?

    Mr President
I pavallion computer 15e019tx hp laptop that I bought in September 2013 with 3 years on-site warranty for equipment. Now my chager does not work. When I contact support team, they simply said that the battery and charger are not in warranty!
If we are given the charger with the laptop at the time of purchase and there is no separate additional charges for the adapter, then why we are asked to pay for the replacement, if we are under warranty!

This means buying a laptop for around 40 k and then pay for coverage and then your charger is still not covered under the present... when it will stop working, you are to pay about 2 k more...

    one more thing

the address for the authorized service centers and their contact details must be updated on dialy basis... you have no idea how much we - customers have to suffer...

Sorry, but I'm really angry... to get to talk to a representtive through online chat, it took me an hour to connect... and then he said that you are connected to the usa... gave me the link for the number of teams and contact with Indian support (he was really friendly, which helped me). I waited two hours to connect to the chat Indian tech support chat online and then disconnected...

What should I do now? buy a new one and tear up the papers and that Bill saying "3 years on-site warranty..."

or wait for a miracle to happen...

    Hello

Not normally. All sellers are doing the same.

    Kind regards.

  • My HP laptop says it is not connected to the internet, but I can still surf the web very well.

All windows applications claim that I am not connected to the internet. So I can't change all the details such as my password or an image. Charges of the app store, but when I go to install an application she claims that I am not connected. I tried many things to fix it, I'm not connected to a proxy, I've had this laptop for about a month and he began to do about two weeks ago.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your query in Microsoft Community.

According to the description, I understand that you are facing inconvenience when you install Windows store applications.

Please follow the methods below to solve the problem:

Method 1: Reset the store of widows.
This command resets the store Windows without changing account settings or remove installed apps. WSReset.exe is usually located in the folder %%SYSTEM.

I suggest you perform the steps below to reset the Windows store.
    (1) key press"Windows + R"on the keyboard to open the run window.
    (2) in the run window, type "wsreset. exe«and then click on the button ok . » It will clear all hide all Windows store.

Follow the method if the problem still persists below.

Method 2: Temporarily disable all security software, then check to see if that solves the problem.
Temporarily disable anti-virus software or other security software installed on your computer.

Warning: security software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Method 3: Run the network troubleshooter

I suggest you follow the link to perform network troubleshooting.

I hope the above methods will help you solve the problem. Please let us know if you need help with Windows.

    Thank you.

  • My laptop does not connect to the internet, even if the wi - fi connection is available

OK, I have a netbook ASUS T-100 with windows 8.1. Yesterday, while I was downloading a game software, a notice came up saying "Windows Defender has blocked a program to run. I trusted the software so I went Windows Defender and allowed the program to run. But I discovered that the program could have the potential of harmful effects to other startup add-ons and programs download without my permission (even if during the installation of the software, I REFUSED any other unwanted programs being installed). So, I opened the Panel and uninstalled everything that has been downloaded.

This is where everything started to go weird. I thought everything was fine until I tried to open Google Chrome on my desk.  He said something like 'cannot be opened because this application may have been moved or copied. Same for Internet Explorer. I went on the start screen and tried to open Chrome and IE, but there was no answer. Then I thought maybe restart the laptop would be useful. So I restarted. Worst decision ever. After the reboot, there is no Chrome or IE. They simply disappeared! I tried to look for them, but it did not help.

I tried to download Chrome from the store, but it wouldn't connect to the internet (even if it was connected to my router). It showed an error «0x80072efd» I went Windows Network Diagnostics and tried to solve the problem, and something else end up - "the remote device or resource wont accept the connection". I looked on the internet and there are solutions saying to disable security. So I tried to turn off Windows Defender and firewall, but even once, that does not solve anything. One of the alternatives was to do a system restore, but I don't think that this is necessary, just?

P.S. I have an iPod touch and a family laptop that connects perfectly with WI - FI. Thus, there cannot be a router issue...

I DON'T KNOW WHAT DO YOU HEEEELLLP PLEASE! I have an assignment due next week and I need my netbook for IT... any help would be greatly appreciated...

UPDATE1: I just noticed that the mail application still displays new messages, except the pictures of these mails are not displayed (they come with a cross). Does this help? #

    I FIXED IT! BY MYSELF

so, for those of you who have a similar problem:

    what I did:

    1. realizes Change PC settings (from by clicking on settings of charms)

    2. click on network

    3. click Proxy

    4. off "use a proxy server".

5 BOOM, internet s on the back.

I have a question however, disabling proxy effect on my network connection? Like what is?

  • Why do I receive an error message that I am not connected to the Internet when I try to update to 9.3

I tried to update to IOS 9.2.1 9.3, but after the update is verified, he said I am not connected to the Internet, but I can get on safari without problem. I have tried rebooting and turning my victory-fi off and turn it back on. I even tried plugging my iPhone hotspot. It happens if my iPad is connected to the power supply or not. Then it gives me the choice to start over, or remind me later. I've never had a problem before update. any ideas?

Because Apple pulled the iOS versions 9.3 to less recent devices. Wait for a patch.

  • Re: Computer laptop Qosmio F15 does not start when the Start button / stop is pressed

My Toshiba Qosmio f15-av201 does not turn when you push the power button, even if the lights of ac adapter & battery are both on (on). Indeed, the yellow light that is supposed to turn on the power button when the laptop is turned off does not appear. In addition, there is no sign that shows the laptop tries to start when the button is pressed, not even a peep. The laptop was recently dismantled (open) to clean the fans, who made the famous monstrous noise which toshiba qosmios are apparently well known for.
Everything seems to be connected correctly in its correct place. Nothing seems to be damaged. So, I have no idea where I can get out of here. Pending issue.

    Help will be less appreciated.
    Thank you

    The same question again?

Why you can't finish under http://forums.computers.toshiba-europe.com/forums//message.jspa?messageID=126963? To start the new thread new will help a lot.
