  The monitor should have a TB and adapter power connector. The monitor works on both OSX. ? If so, shut down of windows, connect monitor and start Windows. Your TB 2012 monitor is not plug-and-play with Windows.

  The Image Size dialog box dialog box shows the uncompressed size.

  Your operating system (Explorer/Finder) shows the size compressed. (size on the disk)

  If you use save for Web, you can see the compressed size, but also an overview.

  If you want to reduce the file size of a PDF document, you must use Acrobat. If you do not have Acrobat, you're certainly welcome to try for http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat.html. Acrobat Pro, there are several options to reduce the size of the file, including the file > save as other > PDF of reduced size and file > save as other > PDF optimized.

As the screen space is useful (yes I know I can fullscreen with f11) I would like to return to original realestate by getting the display at the top of the page in the browser to a normal size.   Open Windows Photo Gallery > you can select one image at a time > click email at the top > select your image size > click on attach > repeat the same procedure in the following image and so forth

  Reader can be used only to display files pdf so you can not perform any operation on it.

  If you have Acrobat, then you can go to Acrobat > save as other > reduced pdf file

  You can also go to Acrobat > save as other > optimized pdf and then click on "Use of space Audit" button to know what takes up space in the pdf file and adjust accordingly.
