REDUX: Opening of user profile has no... Once again!

This issue has been spoken for several years, and there is still no cut and dried "fix" for it. I don't understand why Microsoft can't take time to address this problem. Before ask you, I spent 3 hours today, reading as many positions as possible, looking for resolution and spent a few hours trying to each of them, but I failed to locate a fix that works on my computer.

I have Windows 7 Home Premium. I use a Dell Inspiron desktop computer. I tried everything that was recommended, but nothing has worked. You (the Forum) have recommended changes to the registry and remove the problem account, however, in my case there is NO account not listed other than the default, my personal account and the guest account. So, I ask, once again, for a PERMANENT solution to this problem. I don't think I'm too ask.  Microsoft has created a bit of sophisticated software, and yet they are not able to solve this problem? Strange. I would like to hear from members of the forum who have solved their problem of logon. Thank you!

  • lost my win 7 with her user profile has my FF favourites, can I get them back somehow?

Somehow, I lost my user profile in Windows 7 64. He did not come when I try to change user and I can't log off the current user account as it is the only one on the pc now. But, when I go into the users folder in the c drive, I can see my old profile and all its folders and files and programs, but I can't find a way to get you to connect on it. Then... I just took all the files and put them on my new profile... no problems except that now... when I clicked on FF to see if the pc to connect to the internet, it was as if I had just downloaded for the first time and all my bookmarks disappeared. Could all be still hidden somewhere on my PC? as in the programs on the c drive folder? or are they just disappeared, erased somehow? I don't remember what I did but I was in safe mode, and I think I clicked on create a group or a working group and the pc look like it was downloading something. now my old profile is locked up and this news is in its place, everything is identical with the exception of Fire Fox and my favorites.
    Also Note *.
I'm on my new job here at work PC, the pc in question is my old pc work at home at my house.
    Thank you!

In fact, I fixed it myself last night. I found all my old files Fire Fox and my favorites were there so I was able to import my new profile.

I used a small Windows search tool I downloaded awhile there is its called 'Search all' and I typed in "Mozilla" and it pulled up all Mozilla on my pc, I clicked then through files until I found this one with the backup book marks in it. I copy and pasted the path to the file in the import screen of Fire Fox book marks and click ok and then boom, they were there. Then I made a copy of this info and place it in a folder on my desk top in case never happens again I will not have my wife calls me at work at 7:30 asking where his bookmarks are lol!

  • HP Pavilion 15 laptop: Short hard drive DST check failure... once again.

A question that I had resolved a few months ago started occurring again, in which the laptop is struggling to load things when started and soon after falls down and has to be restarted. I guess that means that the hard drive has failed once again and so I have no doubt about how to solve this problem, but I write this query to ask: why? Why has a laptop, I had since not even a year at this stage has already had the same problem occur twice, even with the replacement of the piece that broke the first time? I am willing to assume that this is something to do with excessive I will admit that it is enabled for a good part of almost every day, often for several hours I play the games on Steam on it. Currently, I do not plan to have the hard drive replaced again because it is clearly an issue that will keep occurring that the way things are and if I can get a PC that won't break every time a gust of wind so it hits. Any information on why this happens and how it could potentially be avoided in the future is appreciated, especially if it offers a solution that doesn't involve payment of an exorbitant amount of money.

The worst enemy of hard drives is heat. If you play on a computer that is pushed to the limits of the game, a lot of it can wear on a hard drive for a few months. You get a lot of activity of fan during the game? A cooling pad may be an option, or on a computer box of Grandpa instead of a laptop for the games.
