In my opinion, you create restore DVD first. Then install the recovery image using these discs and when the OS is finished set partitions on your laptop.

After doing this, it can happen that you will not be able to use the disk HARD recovery option more but the DVD of recovery only if as a first step in the history please create these recovery disks.

  • Reformat and choose to install programs

Hello world. I'm a newbie to an Apple MacBook Pro with the retina having worked only with Windows PCs. I receive as little a MacBook with an operating system just before the release of El Capitan.

I want to reformat and install a new copy of El Capitan, but choose only the programs I want to install. I prefer not to remove these programs later. Is this possible?

I also understand that fragments of deleted programs can be left a bit like registry entries and temporary directories in Windows. Y at - there a (preferably free) app that would fix this please?

Finally, my drive will be 1 TB in size. It is better that drive of partitioning and how do I go about this?

A few references to the URL on how to accomplish these applications would be appreciated without reinventing the wheel.

    Thank you very much.

To start the Mac has no record, so, there is no registry entry on the left.

If you reformat that will remove everything from the hard drive. You will need to reinstall the operating system. They are a few applications that come with the operation such as Safari. You can not delete them.

Everything that you have installed additional software must be reinstalled once more. Each of you, the data must be restored from your backup.

This is a MBPr opportunity, so I would say that you start with a recovery of the Internet which will return back to factory MBPr. After that, you can buy the software on the App Store that you want to install. You can then upgrade to El Capitan. In this way all software will be under your AppleID so that it can be upgraded.

  • Load a Windows rescue disk the same as reformatting and reinstalling Windows?

    Win32/Ramnit.z and fitness.

Hi, once you've found the Win32/Ramnit.z on one of our computers/cash registers I need to reformat and load the operating system on. A cam XP rescue & recovery disc with the computer and I was wondering if this drive will do the same work as the reformatting.

    Hello

A recovery disk contains tools and information that can be used to 'recover' your system using the information stored on your hard drive. This 'information' could be the I386 folder, this could be a hidden restore partition, or it could be something else entirely. The key is that the recovery disc uses a lot of information on your hard drive.

An installation disc contains the software to install. A Windows installation disk contains a copy of Windows that is copied from the disk and installed on the hard drive of your computer. There is not need additional tools or information already exists on the hard drive.

  • Can I use the HP Recovery partition after formatting and partitioning the rest of the hard drive?

I recently had my HP Pavilion dv4 2145dx laptop (Windows 7 64-bit) go kerput.  The Geek Squad said that the motherboard is dead.  I bought a laptop and I use this one for now, and I use the former dv4 as external hard drive.

I intend to continue to use the hard drive from the old dv4 as an external unresolved for now, but I wish we could fix the dv4 at some point in the future.  Here's the problem: to get the most out of the former dv4 as external drive, I want to repartition it so that there is an NTFS partition and one HFS partition +.  This way I could easily use it with my Mac and Windows machines.

But if I do that, I'm not sure if the image of HP recovery would continue to operate.  If it does not, then if/when I get the old dv4 a new motherboard, I couldn't restore the operating system from the recovery partition.  It is a problem, because I have not create recovery disks (stupid, I know - I'm definitely making them for the new machine).

So, I want to do these two things:

    (1) create my dv4 recovery disks.  Can I do this if the dv4 drive is mounted in an external enclosure?

    (2) format and partition the drive dv4 (the leaving intact recovery partition) and later to recover the system from the recovery partition.  The recovery partition would continue to operate in these conditions?

Thanks for any help that anyone is obtained.

    Hello:

What you do to the C:\drive will make the ineffective recovery partition.

You will not be able to create a set of recovery discs unless the drive is usable in Notepad.

Can you still read all 25 characters of your product key of W7 on the bottom of your laptop broken?

If so, you can do this...

If you can read the Microsoft windows 7 25-character product key, you can download simple Windows 7 ISO files to burn on a DVD for the version of windows that is installed on your PC, and which is listed on the Microsoft COA sticker on your PC case.

Burn the ISO with the option to burn the ISO on your DVD burning program and burn it at the slowest possible speed that will allow your program. This will create a bootable DVD.

Or use the installation of Windows 7 USB/DVD tool to compile the ISO file that you download from Digital River. Link and instructions below. You need a 4 GB flash drive to use the USB compilation method.

    http://www.microsoftstore.com/store/msstore/HTML/pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool

Use 25 characters on the PC product key to activate the installation.

The key will activate a 32 or 64 bit installation.

Then go to the support of the PC and driver page to install the drivers you need.

Link to downloads ISO of W7 is below.

    http://www.mydigitallife.info/official-Windows-7-SP1-ISO-from-Digital-River/

Or, you can probably still order a set of recovery disc for your HP laptop.

  • Reformatting and reinstallation of Windows XP SP1. (Product key issue)

Hello people on the Microsoft answers forums!

Dell Diemension 4550 Uncle started recently to behave non normal way. I found that the only solution to repair the computer after numerus charge calls to make sure the problem is to reformat and reinstall the operating system. Currently, on the computer's operating system is Windows XP Home Edition SP3. I have the original Windows installation disc supplied with the computer. (Windows XP Home Edition SP1) That's my big question that I hope can be answered. If I reinstall the operating system and then re - activate using the same product key, Microsoft will allow me to activate Windows again? I hope so because I can't afford to buy a new set of Windows XP software. Please let me know what's going to happen if I try to reinstall Windows! Thanks to you all!

That works perfectly.  You can re - install and re - activate it many times on the same computer using the same product key.

The only potential problem would happen if you replaced a significant part of the hardware of the computer, such as the motherboard.

I usually reformat / reinstall everything on my bench office every 2 years. I did this last box. I see now that there only on XP Pro Service Pack 2. I have the SP 3 Micro drive. Is it better to install SP3 on top of current news, or do a reformat and clean install of everything? I have a lot of graphics Adobe software, no games, 2 scanners etc. Nothing too major. All the boxes get cluttered junk over two years, as we all know. Thanks for any advice.   Rotab

Yes, true for most, but it can also be bad. See below.

In addition, a number of people have performed a clean installation

Yes, and also note that you have to install all the necessary
drivers for your system, you must recustomize Windows and all your
Apps to work the way you are comfortable with.

In addition to all these things being long and painful, you can
have trouble with some of them: you will find all your CDs application?
You will find all the necessary installation codes? Do you have any data
backups to restore? Do you remember yet all customizations and
tweaks can be installed to make everything work the way that you

If you can't find something you need, or do not remember something from you

  • Clustering and partitioning

    Hello

Can you please tell what is the difference between the clusters and partitioning?

What is the average of hash partitioning? I know it's done by the hash value. How we will obtain the hash value?

Little confusion to self-study. It would be great if someone explains me.

    Thank you

    Hello

Clusters are two or more tables that are physically stored together to take advantage of the similar columns between tables. If two tables have identical column and you frequently need to join the two tables, for example, it is advantageous to store the common column values in the same data
block. The goal is to reduce the disk i/o and thus increase the speed of access when you join related tables.
However, the clusters will reduce the performance of your INSERT queries because several blocks are required to store data from several tables.

Oracle partitions addresses the key issue of supporting very large tables and indexes allow you to break it down into smaller, more manageable pieces called partitions.
Once the partitions are defined, SQL statements can access and manipulate the partitions rather than entire tables or indexes.
The partitions are especially useful in applications of data warehouse, that generally, store and analyze large amounts of historical data

Hash partitioning is a partitioning technique where a hash key is used to distribute the lines evenly between the different partitions (sub-tables). This is generally used where the beaches are not suitable, i.e. the employee number, productID, etc..

  • Upgrade 9i to 11g w / AQ and partitioning

    Hi all

We will make an upgrade for a client, 9.2.0.6 on Solaris 11 GR 2 on AIX 6.1. I read that the documentation for upgrade and the best (only?) way would be to an exp/IMP. There are only about 30-40 GB of data, so the downtime should not be too suddenly.

My main concern is that the database uses AQ and partitioning. For export/import of partitioning should be able to carry it through, but for the QA part, should there be something else I should do in advance, or as long as I export/import objects QA owner then it should be ok?

    Edit:
In addition, when you apply the patches, the order would be:
    -Install 11 GR 2
    -Create the database
    -Apply the power supply
    -Apply the CPU
    -Import data?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thank you

I am agree with Dan - using dbua would be cleaner and simpler. You must first upgrade to 9.2.0.8 (which is also not too hard) before attempting to upgrade to 11 GR 2. See - http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E11882_01/server.112/e10819/preup.htm#i1007814

PL do not forget that you must apply processors or the power supply - you cannot apply both. See Section 8 of the MOS Doc 854428.1 (Patch updates Set to day for Oracle products)
