  • Regional profile settings

    Dear,

How can I configure settings regional profile?

    Hello

    Regional profile settings

    step 1:

    1. In /home/localconfig , create the following file:/atg/userprofiling/userProfile.xml
    2. Edit this file to include the new locale. Locale is defined in the dps_user table, under the locale property. Specify a language code and country, as defined by the ISO 639 and 3166 respectively, for each of the new locale. Separate language codes and country using underscore, for example it_IT . You must also provide a unique code for each locale. When you are finished, your userProfile.xml file will resemble the following:

    3.GetProfile.SetPropertyValue ("locale", en_US);

  • Qosmio G20: DVD region Code?

    Hello

I am about to purchase a Qosmio G20 wasn't what I just learned today that they won't be available mid-2005 in Belgium.

However, in preparation since then, I have a few questions:

Because the Qosmio is a DVD playback mode without having to start Windows, this means that the region will be probably set somewhere in the Bios for a given region.

Travel laptop users and my partner is American, so we have DVD region 1 and 2.

Are there any evolution of the WinDVD software when running on Qosmio the failing lock a region code after X play. I've never understood that laptops (mobile systems) have the same restrictions as the reception of readers of DVD/entertainment (whow by the way no one knows!)

So, how can we play the two regions on the Qosmio G20 or anything that will be available for the Belgium.

    Thank you
    Danny

The bounding can be changed 5 times.

After the last selected region Code is saved in the DVD player.

But also, there are a lot of programs (Freeware) that help make your life easier and work around this Limitation.

The only thing that you can do this through precaution is to google all over the place.

    Good bye

  • Qosmio G30-201: can I play HD movies with different region code

Hi I have a laptop Qosmio G30-201 with the HD inside player. This area of the playback of movies HD 1 or is it stuck on region 2.
Is not blocked is it possible to unlock it to play movies from all regions.
This unit was purchased in the United Kingdom.

    Thanks Steve

    Hello

As much as I know HD-DVD movies do not support region codes.
Support is free region code and that's why I think you should be able to watch a HD-DVD movie, BUT you need a DVD player special as WinDVD8 example

  • I get a region code error when I try to play a new DVD

I just bought a new DVD of the store, and I get a region code error message.  Laptop computer wants me to change the region code before I can read the DVD.

Regardless of your operating system go to Device Manager, go to the CD/DVD drives, click the sign more or pointer, right click on the line that appears and click Properties, then go to the region of the DVD tab.

Now, you have the choice to make, you will see changes remaining X, the value must be 4 if it has not been changed before, if you change you will need to change it back - 3-2, if you get to 0, you're stuck in this region!

If the specified region is yours then I would take the rear DVD, if the region is other than your, you have the choice above then you must indicate other PC users.

  • Region code of the DVD player

The DVD on my Pavilion A1375A Media Center PC drive is set to region 1 - I am in Australia (region 4).

    I can't set it to region 4.

I asked HP to sell me a new DVD player, but they do not know what the new discs region code will be and asked that I contact Microsoft and ask:

    (a) area code would change once a factory of re - configure?

    (b) what would be the new replacement drive region code?

It seems strange to me that HP can't?

    Hoping someone can help,

    all good wishes,

    David

    Hello

You must talk to people bad at HP since it is not Windows that
decides what optical drives of regions are defined.  HP provides probably hundreds
readers of your region (really the thousands).

    It is by design.

  • Envy 14 DVD will not change the region Code

My Envy 14 is until the last amendment of the Code of the region, he told me that he can change the region Code 1 more time but it WILL NOT change the region code.

I try to change in the properties of the device of the "DVD RAM UJ897', he said 'this is your last chance to change your DVD drive region setting. Are you absolutely sure you want to continue? »... I click OK, it asks me to insert the support in this area (it is already in the tray)... I re - insert the Code region 2 DVD, and I get the error "failed to update the region Code setting. The HP MediaSmart SW also tells me "Drive region code: region 1.» Number of times where you can change the region code: 1 ",... .He told me that the inserted DVD 2 Code region and asks if I want to change... I say yes, then confirm and nothing happens. I can't read the 2 region code DVD...

    Hello

Start in safe mode by pressing f8 when you start your PC.  Use the arrow keys to select Safe mode and press return.  Once charged, try to change the area by car.  If it still does not work, try the procedure but with another another DVD zone 2 under Windows can be picky about what it accepts.  If it works, just restart your PC and Windows does not start normally.

For filters, try to press O to see if it's the mask you are viewing rather than adjustments.

  • Universal region code

I got a question asked of me today:

"Do you know if the DVD format is universal and is compatible with the DVD overseas."

systems? I bought the DVD before USA to see they don't work here

    in South Africa. »

I think there are two issues at work here, the first, that's how I author of the DVD - Unversal region Code, the second is vs PAL NTSC.

Can someone show me how to control universal Codes in the region?

    Thank you

Region codes apply only for discs pressed in trade, made by a House of replication. The project still will be output to DLT and which will be shipped to the port replicator. Don't set any region Code, if you burn a disc, because which may cause the project to fail and not will be not honored on a burned disc, just as protection against copying (only applies to replication and can also cause trouble, so called). Region codes are used to restrict the gameplay in certain geographic areas, such as ONLY the United States, etc.

Now, vs PAL NTSC is different. These are standards of television. In very general terms (still many exceptions), a NTSC DVD will play in most of the new Euro (PAL) players. Unfortunately, the reverse is not so. I don't know any player NTSC, who manage the PAL discs, although there might be some double players out there.

The ideal is to produce a PAL project for the distribution of PAL as well as NTSC for distribution to NTSC.

    Good luck
