reinstall with Vista problem

I tried to reinstall Windows Vista once a virus has infected my computer then I used a reinstallation disc sent with the computer. He told me that there was not enough space for the installation, so I formatted the single Partition that was available and it still won't let me reinstall and now I can't start from the bios, I only can boot from the cd - dvd drive. Why is it not let me reinstall Vista?

Hello

  • STARTING WITH VISTA PROBLEM

    All of a sudden (now about 3 months ago), for any reason and without any precedent issues, Vista has started to not initialize properly - no, eventually I discovered after several attempts, first by pressing enter and then CTRL + ALT + DELETE, and then succeed to open my office dafeult. Since then, I have tried several of the recommended "startup repair" patches (etc.), including the MS recommended ones, but so far nothing is. Any ideas anyone please?

    "I tried several of the recommended"startup repair"patches (etc.), including the ones recommended MS,

    It is useful here if you say that you tried!

    Restore point:

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If restore work not and you do not have a Vista DVD from Microsoft, do a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    These hardware scan sites are a waste of time, better to look manually as shown above.
    Sound Device arise under the sounds?
    Otherwise:
    REBOOT - under sound click right panel where it says no Audio devices installed - check Show
    -Show hidden devices - disabled devices highlight speakers - lower right properties - turn on the device
    What are the drivers for your direct gateway system
    You can have this one - check under Device Manager sound
    If you need it - download - SAVE - go to where you put it - RIGHT CLICK - RUN AS ADMIN - after restart
    each installation of the driver.
    Don't forget to compare versions in device - sounds like audio often rollback - so do drivers Manager
    of course, the installed version is 6.10.5365.0 - Run - Reboot - check until this version presents itself.
    Then repeat with this last one - Vista 6 - 10.5939
    Run - Reboot - check until this version presents itself.
    If the driver will update just don't use this method then reinstall (and later check the version).
    Here is an article on the restore procedure:http://www.vista4beginners.com/How-to-restore-files to make sure you do this right.  It's a selective restore of a full or selective backup (not a full restore from a full backup) - but since you did a full backup, it matches your process more closely than would a full restore.
    This is a GREAT article on the backup and restore processes in Vista http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/magazine/2007.09.backup.aspx , but he won't go into detail about the restoration process - considering almost as easy, of course.  But it teaches you a lot about what is possible and how to do it.  It also focuses primarily on the full backup process, but he did mention the full backup and restore process as well.
    Here is an article on the advanced use of restoration (during normal restore does not work):http://www.mayankraichura.com/post/2009/08/06/Avdvanced-Restore-via-Windows-Vista-Backup-and-Restore-Center.aspx.
    I also found the following (but don't know if it of true or not):
    1. after the start of "backup and Restore Center."
    2. I chose "Advanced Restore"
    3. I was did not an administrator password... maybe because my account is an administrator account.
    4 choose "files from a backup made on a different computer.
    5. in the dialog box indicating "Select the location of the backup to restore", select "hard drive, CD or DVD...". »
    6. under the drop-down list box, select your drive/partition and continue
    7. If all the backups on your drive, it will show a list of them.
    8. in my case, he showed a backup, but in the backup location, it will show "backup location is not available."
    9. I was frustrated, but then I somehow just select this backup (Yes... even if he said that thebackup location is not available " ")
    10. and you press "next".
    11 guess what... no error!
    12. a window appeared asking me if I wanted to do a full restore, or I want to select specific folders or files.
    13. I selected the folders I wanted to restore and bingo... it their restored smoothly.
    14. so that the next time see a mistake, try to continue with him... ;)
    I don't know if this will help, but it does not provide much information about the process (when it works).  I hope you find any error or discrepancy in your procedure and it will clear up and allow you to restore.
  • Ping with vista problem
    OK, that was my story...
    It is a weird error.
    Anyway,.
    I recently changed my internet provider cos had problems with the old funding, etc. My new provider is clear high-speed I think. It's one of these usb connect modems.
    The speed seems pretty normal and I was able to go on websites. This site or the server is the only one I seem to have a problem with.
    Sound on a Korean server.
    But I'm going to Korean sites all the time and the speed is normal. In front a site I spend supposed to be slower then this site Oo, but again it loads quite fast while my friends can barely get on that.
    The site is nate.com / cyworld.
    Both nate.com and cyworld have the same server, I think.
    It was the Korean site the fastest, that I went. & While I was on the crappy internet. As almost as slow as dial-up. But then they merged with this site called nate.com and the search engine, it there was a little slow with the site. Minihp URLS seem not to be much affected, only slightly slower. But the search engine was so bad that I couldn't even use it. Just load and load, never go forward and never to expire. & While I was slightly fast internet from comcast.
    Now with my new internet provider.
    The search engine is fast again. But the minihp, (nate.com) index and links like these don't work anymore.
    http://Minihp.Cyworld.com/PIMs/main/pims_main.asp?tid=24235182
    http://Cyworld.com/_mjstyle
    Or whatever it is connected with them or have nate.com in it.
    Only one that loads with nate.com is the search engine that is as follows.
    http://mm.search.Nate.com/search/video.html?z=VD&s=&TQ=&q=%BF%ad+%B8%B0+%C0%BD+%be%C7+%C8%B8+m.c+the+Max
    Even more bizarre is like when I go to a proxy, which I was just testing. In fact, it loads the site. Some slow, some, as if I typed yahoo.com... like quickly. I couldn't just click on the next page buttons.
    This site has a proxy I used.
    http://myjobtool.info/
    It is one that has been fast measured.
    I don't understand why in all it can load into proxy, but not on my pc. Not like the session timeout thingie... COS barely, it took 2 minutes to load.
    It is not my browser, cos I tried in different browsers. So same thing.
    I tried to download some of the free internet speed increases, firefox addons and pc speed ups. Still nothing. I even tried to install stuff like... give your session in firefox as long to laod for slow sites. & a proxy for firefox. (the proxy would not accept the URL... that was so useless)
    Even more strange is that when I got my new internet. Everything about this great site loaded fast. So it's not like the internet too slow for it... COS it was freakin two days ago work!
    It was my favorite site and I used a lot.
    -Now
    So I googled around, several times and eventually find something.
    Here, this site is for my problem
    http://www.AOTA.NET/Server_Performance/sitedown.PHP4
    Then, how should I do?
    Uhm, lol
    Now his work.
    I don't understand, given how when I couldn't stay connected my friends could.
    But happy.
    Thanks for your reply.
  • Problem with SP1 after reinstall clean Vista
    I did a "clean and reinstall" on Vista 32 bit Home Premium machine due to problems of registry after a "System Mechanic" install.  The reinstallation of Vista went well so I started to download and install all updates for the computer.   Everything downloaded and installed fine until I got to SP1 (KB 936330).  Windows Update tells me that the installation was successful, but when I click with the left button on computer then check properties that SP1 does not appear in the description "windows edition".  I installed the update several times and get the same results.  Windows updates always tells me to install the same update (SP1) and when I look through the history it States successfully 4 times.  When I look at control panel-programs-uninstall a program - and discovers a part of the update uninstall, update SP1 is not listed.   I missed something?  Help, please.
I ran to day thought advise that I could upgrade to windows 7... but apparently so that I can fix the problems of windows, I'm stuck. Thanks for any help!
    Hello
    Error code 80070490 claims a repair upgrade install, not an uninstall and clean reinstall.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/Windows-Update-error-80070490
    If you receive the Windows Update 80070490 error, it means that a file (CBS Manifest) that is needed to install updates is corrupt. To correct this problem, you will need repair Windows. Repair Windows will not damage your personal files or the programs that are installed on your computer.
    Have you tried the other option for system update readiness tool in the link I just gave you?
    The System Update Readiness Tool for Windows can correct some conditions that cause Windows Update 80070490 error. You can access and run this tool by reading this Knowledge Base article on the Microsoft Web site.
    And you need a DVD of Vista from Microsoft to do a repair installation upgrade according to the instructions, NOT the normal manufacturer's recovery disks.
    You will need to borrow a Microsoft Vista DVD from a friend or working knowledge.
    Here's how a repair upgrade installation:
    "How to perform a repair for Vista Installation"
    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/88236-repair-install-Vista.html
    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@
    And if you can't get a loan from a Vista DVD from Microsoft, you may need to do a reinstall of Vista:
    You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.
    They should do this for a small fee.
    To reinstall Vista using their recovery disk/s, you start from the 1st recovery disk they provide and follow the manufacturer's instructions to reinstall:
    You need to change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order:
    How to change the Boot order in BIOS:
    http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/SS/bootorderchange.htm
    "How to replace Microsoft software or hardware, order service packs and replace product manuals.
    http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/326246
    And if you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your computer, there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.
    The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)
    Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.
    Ask them to the proper key sequence.
    And if you do not score a manufacturer of recovery on your hard drive, you should be able to make your own recovery from her disks to reinstall the operating system.
    Go to programs > name of the manufacturer of your computer > then their system or recovery tools software topics for them, depending on how it is formulated.
    If you can't find any reference to it, contact the manufacturer for advice on how to make these recovery disks.
    Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.
    If this happens, you may need to try this instead:
    You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.
    Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.
    And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs
    Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:
    "How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '
    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html
    And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.
    And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.
    "How to activate Vista normally and by Activation of the phone '
    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/84488-activate-Vista-phone.html
