Reinstalling Windows 7 problem

Hey all,.

My PC was to have some bugs, so I decided to do a clean install of Windows 7, you use the disc that came with my Alienware Aurora. I start my PC from the CD and the Windows 7 Installer begins to launch. When I press 'Install on this computer', an error message appears shortly after and said "A required CD/DVD drive driver is missing" or something of the sort; the only options are down travel and a new analysis. Therefore, my computer is pretty useless at this point. How to take this step so I can format my drive and reinstall Windows 7?

I tried setting the startup mode of the Legacy BIOS instead of UEFI, but that made no difference.

I am desperate at this point, any help would be appreciated.

Sounds like your recovery media is corrupt. You could try asking filter spare Alienware or look in what follows:

Recently my PC started working very slowly (40 + minutes to reach the Office of sleep mode). I think it started to happen after the power was out, so I guess there was some corrupted windows files. Do you have a sfc scan and it returned no problem. Attempted to run the Startup Repair tool and still no problem so I tried rolling back to a system restore but point then explorer.exe has stopped running automatically and I couldn't bring up the Task Manager, or whatever it is in the same direction. I opened in safe mode and verified that the part of shell was only set to explorer.exe and it was just beautiful. Abandoned and did a fresh reinstall of windows, but now he gets just after the start screen of Windows, only to be faced with a blank black screen with only the mouse. I left it for a few hours to see if it was maybe still install but all that happened was a Windows isn't genuine tag in the lower right (my copy is authentic). Tried to boot in safe mode but I get an error indicating that Windows is in the middle of the installation and cannot be performed in safe mode and I have to restart my computer and allow install to complete. Any suggestions? This could be a hardware problem? Could output power have fried something on the inside?

    Hello

"began to arrive after the power was out"

It points to the blackout as the reason for your problems

    1 SFC returned without error.

    2 restart found no problem.

    3. you then reinstalled the operating system twice.

    4. the time it takes to do things is still too slow.

I would like to check the hardware.

    See you soon.

  • I had to reinstall Windows - problems accessing the profile of old or existing to show all emails, I had

I had to reinstall windows. I have several drives in my computer and I copied the entire C: drive to another drive in the PC. I thought when I reinstalled Thunderbird, I could just point to profile located on the other drive... email accounts but it doesn't work.

I had multiple accounts configured in Thunderbird - accounts about 6, but just one profile. I had several records created for organizing email locally. So, I guess that he should be a both local and roaming profile with the same name? I checked my mail server web interface and there are currently approximately 105 emails on this subject. I know there are at least 500 total emails into the inboxes of Thunderbird. I try to restore those old e-mails, as well as local folders - but am not having any luck.

Anyway, with all the attempts that I did to get all the emails of my return, I think that Thunderbird has created new folders and is doing really complicated now. I don't know how to sort this out. I don't know the name of the profile that I have used before, and when I search my computer on the name of the profile, it is 22 000 + items. I'm still not able to get them all restored in Thunderbird.

Another strange thing is: in the search results for the name of the profile, the items are displayed in the results, and it has an icon Thunderbird next to them and says it's a Document of Thunderbird... but when I double-click on one of them, it will not open in Thunderbird. Nothing happens when I double-click on them. Could this be a problem/conflict version of Thunderbird? I thought my old Thunderbird was updated.

I don't know where to start to give you a hint how to help. I'm sorry.

    Any ideas?

I'm having a problem reinstalling Windows XP.  After formatting the disk and create partitions, it will not complete the installation.  He goes back and reinstall Windows again.  I go through the installation of 39 minutes, the computer restarts to complete and it loops back and start the installation again. Why it does this and what I can do to move beyond this?

My Dell Inspiron 530 sudenlly crashed, I could not start it. I called for the support of a group that I paid for. Technicians helped me start the PC, but they could not fix the screen resolution: in the display settings window, the cursor is on the left end of the bar, the low position and could not be moved. The technician finally asked me to save the folders files and reinstall Windows Vista. After the relocation, the screen resolution problem persisted. Technicians then reformat the HD, then reinstall Windows Vista again, the result was the same. We cannot change the resolution. Help, please.

  • Well reinstall Windows Vista - MAJOR problem...

For not giving all my cleaning stuff correctly a system, but I need help with something that makes me really mad.  It's about Vista and something weird with the file system.

I service computers to save his life, im pretty well informed and have tried many ways to solve this problem.  I do NOT consider formatting and reinstallation of a viable option.  How I reinstall Windows normally from the beginning is the same...

    FOR XP:

Demarrer start from a NTFS disk, rename all the critical road as folders... Windows, Program Files, Documents and settings, System Volume INformation, etc...  Delete all files in root folder and fresh install of Windows.  Beautiful... works great... never lose anyones information.

    ON VISTA:

Same steps, but without worrying if I boot from Vista dvd to access NTFS, or my special disk to access NTFS as I've used for years, the problem is that...

I can rename Windows, Program Files, and the program data of the road after a bit of a hassle.

I can rename users! Users and it sticks until I have install Vista and then I have a blue users and a black use.   I don't want 2 of them.  I tried a clean install of Vista without format.   If I format everything is normal.

I WANT all THE PERMISSIONS of FILES on disk INTEGER stripped of their security.  Vista has mucked up with permissions no matter what Im tired.   I stick the drive in another machine from Vista or XP, PROPERTY of FLYING another machine - it purrs the long hours just to not do anything sometimes.  I try to rename some files - access denied.   Desintination folder refused or regardless of the battery without end of the errors I get doing something simple as rename a stack of records to back/NTFS.   I don't want users crowded with all _ like...------.

    Record users:
    Dave
    Dave.000
    Dave.Windows.000
    By default
    Default.000
    Default.Windows.000
    etc etc.

and all _ that happens out there.

Very simple.  I want a tool that strips off EACH single authorisation makes all readable as if it were a normal readable by ALL leaders.

Take possession does not really work in Vista.
ICLACLS or something else that was I used the other day has allowed me to rename them, but when I reinstalled Vista it their fame users and installed over the old virus plagued by files.

So... my questions are... How can I rename all files from the road and install fresh Vista without having to save the entire disk (from the hundreds of concerts) somewhere else, the format and copy this whole mess back.

    (A) rename all files with no hassle of permission
    (B) fully to support all permissions like how XP used to work
    (C) give me a utility that removes a complete player all it's permissions and security (best solution) or at least streams how XP has worked since I never once has problems with XP that convert all files.
    (D) someone explain to me how an operating system is unable to copy same files correctly? (related to Vista) - it is slow and is not always copy everything - once more... back to permissions.  What you did MS smear filesystem up to SO bad. ???

    Hey PerryCS,

I think that the terminology that Michael used is to start, but is the correct terminology for Vista.  XP has a "repair installation" option  Vista has not just as an installation option more.  How to imitate the old XP Repair install in Vista is known as an Inplace Upgrade Installation.  So you see the upgrade is a rather unfortunate misnomer.  Inplace upgrade as installation functions where Vista reinstall it s self, writing and replace system files, so that theoretically do not damage or over writing files of program or personal data.  I hope my explanation makes sense.

  • Need to format the drive due to some problems and having to reinstall Windows 7. I could use the same product key

    Original title: Windows 7

I am using Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit SP 1 that have previously been installed then bought my laptop. Product key number is fixed under the laptop.

I need to format my drive due to some problems and having to reinstall Windows 7. can I use the same product key and where can I get the installer of Windows 7 because I don't have it.

    Thank you

New computers that come pre-installed with Windows often have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

This is how the recovery partition is accessible to most popular brands...

For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device

For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For LG, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward

For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

For Samsung, press F4 to the power upward...

For Fujitsu, press the F8 key directly after the power

Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"

Sony VAIO, reboot and press "F8" or "F10" repeatedly until the screen "Advanced Boot Options".

For 5 years, Microsoft made it fairly easy for users of the Windows 7 operating system to get reinstall media. If you have lost your support disc or installation retail collection; either it has been damaged or defective; You can download a copy of the edition that you have licensed from a membership site called Digital River. More recently, Microsoft ended the availability to reinstall media that you can download as a. File ISO in Digital River, which is a digital reproduction of an optical disc.

It was particularly convenient for people who could not easily get the manufacturer's recovery media, did not want to pay the fees required to get or preferred a clean configuration without the software packaged manufacturers or even a recovery partition does not work. It's easy to use, all you had to do was reinstall and reactivate using the product key located on the certificate of authenticity and download all the drivers on the manufacturers website.

Given that this option is no longer available, what are your options? See the article for more details:

How to: What are my options for Windows 7 reinstall media?

Make sure you scroll down and read the section:

What to do if you cannot get your manufacturer recovery media, refuse to use or to buy it or the Microsoft Software Recovery Website does not work?

  • Reinstalling windows 7 ultimate retail after changing the SSD, the motherboard and the processor. I'm having a problem with the reactivation?

I'll upgrade my desktop PC, by changing the motherboard, processor and SSD drive with the OS on it to boot. I have a problem with the reactivation of windows, and should I turn it off, somehow first, or the previous version will be considered as-enabled automatically? It is a retail, windows 7 64 ultimate version. Please advise, thanks in advance.

    Just reactivate by phone:

How to activate Windows 7 manually (activate by phone)

    1) click Start and in the search for box type: slui.exe 4

    (2) press the ENTER"" key.

    (3) select your "country" in the list.

    (4) choose the option "activate phone".

    (5) stay on the phone (do not select/press all options) and wait for a person to help you with the activation.

    (6) explain your problem clearly to the support person.

Remember, if it is a retail upgrade license:

However, the requirements for the media upgrade is that you have an operating system already eligible such as Windows XP or Vista installed to use it. Since the Windows 7 end user license agreement.

15 UPDATES. To use upgrade software, you must first be licensed for the software that is eligible for the upgrade. After the upgrade, this agreement takes the place of the agreement for the software that you upgraded. After upgrade, you can no longer use the software that you upgraded.

So, if you are always denied, you will just have to reinstall Windows XP or Vista and let it do the verification of eligibility.

You can skip to enter the product key and try the activation of the phone to work around this problem.

OK im working on a computer for someone who he uninstalled windows 7 os. on computer there I the intstallation disc, but when I try to install windows 7 what pieces I and restarts the computer ever time... im stuck here and I feel bad, not knowing what someone can help me

If the installation fails again, it may be a hardware incompatibility problem. Go to the Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor on the Microsoft website to see if your computer can run Windows 7.

If you have compatible hardware and your computer still stops responding, disable any unnecessary material. Remove (USB) universal serial bus devices. Remove or disable network cards, sound cards and cards of the series; and then restart the installation.

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling.

For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo

  • We get an error "there was a problem, restart your PC. No changes"while trying to reinstall Windows 8

    * Original title: Windows 8 reinstall could not start

Try reinstalling Windows 8 (x 64 OEM version), but after clicking on start, I get the following error:

"There was a problem, restart your PC.  Has been no change. »

Ditto for the Refresh tool.  Verification of the Solutions tool thinks for a minute, then disappears.  Have tried to introduce these tools after boot, as well as an assortment of other boards around the internet such as the cmd line queries.  Any thoughts?  Had the PC for a year now, no weird mods or alteration of configuration, just installed Office and a few games of limited resources.  As a single user, I have full administrator access.
