Relocation of miniport network extended wan windows 7

Hello

I'm having a problem with my wide area network wan IKEv2 VPN miniport.

This device does not work properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31)

6.1.7601.17514 driver version.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling but it never uninstall. I disabled and enabled, but it still does not work. Can I use 3rd party VPN software if I can't get this to work? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you

John Duran

  • fix the miniport (Network Monitor) Wan #2

    Hello!

In Device Manager, I see the Miniport (Network Monitor) Wan #2 device with a yellow triangle. The status of the device is this device does not work properly because Windows cannot load the drivers required for this device. (Code 31).

It is not very alarming because all four network adapters appear to work (Ethernet, WiFi, broadband wireless and Bluetooth), but is still a little awkward.

Where can I find the drivers for this device?

    Hi Bennet.

It is not possible to directly delete WAN Miniport drivers. What is the indirect pathway

    (1) Richt click on the yellow exclamation Miniport

    (2) update the driver, and then select Browse my computer...

    (3) on the next screen select Let me pick up...

    (4) remove the checkmark on compatible hardware Show in the list that choose something that can be removed for example Microsoft-> generic Mobile Broadband adapter. and then click Next.

It will replace the driver for the defective device that that can be removed by the procedure described by Martin Bennet,.

    Hi, mpr

There is a solution to get rid of this error in the Device Manager. This error occurs because Windows does not have a driver for this device and can not find a. And since there is no driver installed, it cannot be deleted. To resolve this problem, a driver must be installed and then removed manually.

    To do this:

    • Open the Start menu and in the search box, type Device Manager .
    • Open the Device Manager.
    • Right-click on the wide area network WAN miniport device.
    • Select Update driver software...
    • Select Browse my computer for driver software
    • Select Let me pick from a list of device on my computer drivers
    • Uncheck Show compatible devices
    • Choose any driver inside here. (As long as Windows installs a driver, the problem can be removed. I recommend a Bluetooth driver just for simplicity).
    • Click OK in the warnings that are likely to appear. These are just informing you that this driver is not compatible with the material of Wan.
    • Finally, the driver should install. Once it does, right-click on the device again and choose Uninstall.

The problem should go away now and this error will not appear in the Device Manager more.

Good luck. Let me know if you have any questions,

I'm moving my new laptop (15-ab277cl) to a SSD and windows professional 10.

So far, I installed the new SSD and installed a clean version of Windows 7 on it.  I bought windows 7 Professional separately and plan to use windows update to get the 10 Windows free professional upgrade after installation.  However, I can not connect to internet because I could not find the drivers for my LAN or wireless, given that HP has only network drivers for Windows 10 for my laptop model (http://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/HP-Pavilion-15-ab200-Notebook-PC-series/8499306/mode...
