It is possible that in order to can be a wrong format or some specific bad value for this command. As far as I know that there are also some country-specific codes.

  • Group of locking in the 3K concentrator with radius w2k server

I have 2 user group set in my hub 3K. I have no problem to authenticate the user using internal data base about locking group. When I change the method of authentication to the radius of w2K, any valid user with correct password passes the authentication that is not related to the actual group.

I met some documentation says that the radius server must pass the group information in these formats UO = groupname. How to set this on the shelf w2K?

    Kind regards

    Sam

Use the "CLASS" attribute to set the name of your group.

  • Convert W2K Server installs drivers on logon

    Hi all

I used 7 Workstation and import files for p2v Windows 2000 Server. On the first connection to the virtual machine, windows tries to install a lot of drivers, i.e. motherboard, dvd, diskette, EISA Programmable controller, direct access memory, printer port, controller bus pci and more...

Because I wasn't sure what he was doing, I canceled their and not install them.

After the P2V, he is not supposed to be smooth sailing? What is going on? Someone can help me solve it, i.e. resources, links...

    Thanks for your help.

    Chris

Because I wasn't sure what he was doing, I canceled their and not install them.

The P2V process injects the drivers for the mass storage controller and the keyboard and mouse as well as the required Windows registry entries, otherwise Windows would not be able to enumerate the newly discovered virtual hardware and install the drivers or the user to be able to interact properly... So if an OS wants to install drivers for the detected hardware then you don't need to know what you are doing so to say other then to let the OS to do what it takes... then you shouldn't have cancelled it!

  • What VMWare used to run W2K Server in Windows Server 2008 x 64?

We have recently replaced a 32-bit Windows Small Business Server with Standard Windows Server2008 x 64 but find that a particular database will not work on a 64 bit OS.

The Publisher of the application said to run it on Windows Server 2000 or 2003 on a virtual machine, and we are just lucky to have a clean and unused copy of Windows Server 2000.

I used MS VirtualPC, but have never used VMware.  Should what version of VMWare I use?  Preferably a free version?

In addition, any info or links to information, which would help the installation process would allow me to save time and greatly appreciated.

    Thank you

    Hello

I don't really expect VMware Server 1 for work on Wk28 x 64... the product is not updated on this operating system.

Windows 2008 is perhaps editable so that it will work... but then why bother using the new operating system if you pass on the new security model. The right way to go indeed uses VMware server 2 because it will also mean that you have a supported configuration.

Where or where did I go wrong turn?  Was it because I was bottle fed as a child, or maybe when I turned my teacher of class 2 with a pistol to water... but I digress.

The documentation that I found on the VMWare Web site does not appear to be any reference to the creation of a host name, the user name or the password during the Setup process.  Of course, I missed something along the line.

VMware server 2 has all of its normal maintenance and the remote in the browser console.

After installation you can access the console via https://127.0.0.1:8333

Instead of localhost (127.0.0.1) address, you can also try the real IP address of the computer or host name.

I expect that there is a menu option to access the management interface in the start menu under Windows 2008, but apparently not. Guess I have to implement on my both Win2008 box afterwards... The account to use to log on is the administrator account on your windows machine.

No guidance to properly install VMWare Server 2 (or same v1), and then creating a new virtual machine would be appreciated.

I suppose you start with something like "Everything first uninstall v1 and start v2 installation process".  Then what?

Then try opening the administration interface of Vmware Server via the browser and if that doesn't work, post here.

  • Converter 4 Server W2k BSOD

Am reposting this in a new thread per suggestion.

Installed VMware Converter 4 on W2k Server all the patches applied. Server of solid rock that never BSOD'd since its installation.

Two minutes of conversion the BSOD of machine.  There is a directory created to save point with a .vmx, hard and a folder with .lck.

The vmdk file reaches 2 Megs.  It was a conversion of on-line server.  I was going to run VMware Standalone Client on the server itself and writes

the image on a USB hard drive attached.  I ignored his request for the sysprep files, don't know if that makes a difference. I'm hesitant to try again.

The windows, server logs don't seem to have anything useful regarding the BSOD.

Could you please download a dump of memory the complete kernel for this crash? It would be useful to understand which driver caused the crash and why.

First, you must enable full kernel memory image. Go to my computer, properties, advanced, startup and recovery.

Then, you must rerun the P2V and obtain the dump file memory.

BTW, if you already had a full kernel memory dumps enabled, you need not to revive anything. You can just get

the dump of your Windows directory.

The dump file is going to be a few hundred MB of size. You will not be able to post it here. Please use FTP

to download on ftpsite.vmware.com using username/password as incoming/entrants and create your own directory.

I use to manage my DSL modem via an ip address. When I enter FF8 I wonder where to save the file. Why and how can I prevent the FF8 to do this?

And now, whenever I'm in an ip address that I wonder if I want to download the file.

This happens when the modem server does not send the file in text/html, but with a different MIME type.

I tried adding index.html in the event that the server can send this file as text/html.

If your DSL modem has a support Web site, then you can try asking it there advice on how to configure the server modem.

  • What is the best solution for Win2K server without?

I am running VMware server 2 on a Windows 2000 Server computer. Single processor with a few guests of ubuntu hosting web apps. If I want with VMware 2 or is there a better free vmware I should up grade too? It's a Dell with the old installed dc Perc raid controller scsi/320.

Are you unhappy with VMware 2 on W2K? I guess you are thinking about ESXi as it's the only other free VMware virtualization platform.

Why do you feel the need to change? Are there questions? Or you just think improve it?

If you are moving to ESXi, you should be aware that you lose the host W2K Server itself.

  • Windows mirror (dynamic) make my very difficult HD clone

I'm running W2K Server with two HDs 30 GB partitioned in C: 5 GB volume and a volume D: 25 GB.  The two discs are reflected through W2K and as a result, are dynamic.  Exchange 2K runs on the D: partition and it is out of free space.  The c: partition is also very tight.  I need to clone a bigger HD.  My research so this esteem that I must remove the mirrored drive, convert dynamic disks to basic and then run a clone copy c: program to a larger partition and d: to a larger partition.  I'm afraid that when I break the mirror, I could lose my drive letters.  Also, if I use the disktest for convert dynamic at the base, it loses my drive letters as I did on a volume e: a 3rd HD.  It worked well to change dynamics at the base, but after the start, the new disk basic had no drive letter.  No problem I used disk management to assign it as e: once again.  I'm afraid that if I lose my c: drive letter, windows will not start clean because the paths will not be solved without drive letters.  Can what suggestions you provide in order to allow the necessary HD transition.  Thank you very much!

  • Copy error troubleshooting

I have two PCs.  1 XP PRO and 2. Windows 2000 server...   Here the glimpse.  I have an application on XP PC which basically regularly free I mean TIF to Windows 2000 server images... basically copy for say D:\images W2K Server folder.  Now, W2K server is a utility that search image sub-folder D:\images basically and treaty files those.  If the utility cannot find the files, and then it generates the error.

Here's what I got.  The utility on W2K server has been generating errors frequently because it cannot find the files.  According to the application on the XP machine logs, files have been generated.  Now, I don't know whether or not they were ACTUALLY copied on W2K server.  Y at - it a utility out there that may know if the files were present at all on the W2K Server or were actually copied from XP machine?

This is a random question so I can't see and monitor because it may or may not happen.

Suggestions, hint or direction would be greatly appreciated.

  • OfficeJet 6830: Officejet 6830 noise

My new HP Officejet 6830 is a very large slope whistling noise.  It reminds me sort of modems phone old noise used to do.  The noise seems to come from the area where the power cord is attached.  The noise continues even when the printer is turned off: only unplug it stops the noise.  Is it a problem that I can fix it?  Or do I have to return the printer?

You need to upgrade your 3.3. (2) W2K Server, make a backup of 4.1.1 (24) of the W2K and restore it in the W2K3 server.
