Removal of the Amin on iMac without losing data.

I am retiring at the end of the year and have need to back the rights of Admin of my iMac to my assistant. Can I do this without losing any data on my account that she needs access?

Or can I just change the name of the Admin from mine to hers?

Yes. Create a new account admin for it or have it better do so she can set her own username and password. Sign in to your account in order to transfer the files that she should have: transfer of files from one user to another account. Once the files are successfully transferred to sign out of your account. Have his newspaper his account where it can delete your old account. This is done in the preferences users and groups. Make sure what she does an immediate deletion and not a secure erase.

  • move the Panel between monitors without losing data?

I read here and here for help.  The best that I can deduct is to call SetSystemAttribute and change the ATTR_DEFAULT_MONITOR value before making a followed LoadPanel of a DisplayPanel.  Then to change the Panel of this monitor to the other, I have to call a DiscardPanel, then repeat the whole process.

This changed with success my Panel of a second monitor.

However, as soon as I throw the Panel, all the data control on this special group gets wiped.  So how do you change a monitor Panel to monitor without losing its data?

    According to the help:

To open the panels on another monitor, call SetSystemAttribute to change the value of ATTR_DEFAULT_MONITOR before calling LoadPanel or DisplayPanel.

I found is not exactly the case.  Repeat the call of the DisplayPanel just redraws the Panel.  Again, I must first close the Panel.  I tried a HidePanel instead, but it does not work.

My group, I have a table of data.  I need it to stay resident while lighting the Panel between monitors.  Ideas?

    ElectroLund ha scritto:

I think I'll just save me every row in the table and populates the table again after reloading of the Panel.

It might be faster to duplicate control on a hidden side and duplicate and then again on the new main panel.

Convert a drive to NTFS does not fit.
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/convert-a-hard-disk-or-partition-to-NTFS-format
    (Vista/Windows 7 - it doesn't matter in this case).

    However, pay attention to this:
"Although the risk of corruption or loss of data during a conversion are minimal, you must back up all data on the partition before you begin."

  • Reinstall Vista without losing data.

Trying to fix a friends laptop that has the following error: -.

    File windows\system32\configzsystem status: 0xc000000f

Windows failed to load because the system registry file is missing or damaged. Can not do a Vista repair it still comes with the above error. I managed to get into the back through recovery cd and copied data via xcopy on external hard drive, so the user data are safe. Via back managed to discover that under system32 config directory is missing and so evrything under him. As I can't get into windows then try a patch upgrade is possible to install Vista without losing data or I have to do a clean install and then copy the data from the user throughout. CD I have is Dell reintallation Vista 32 bit SP1.

Can you remove the hard drive from the laptop, if so, connect it to a desktop computer to extract the files.

Note: Depending on the age of the laptop, you need a drive adapter.

  • Can I format the HARD drive without losing data?

    Hi all
I used the restore CD to solve a problem on my system (blue screen) and everything was formatted... including the partition where I had music etc...

Is it possible to format my hard drive without losing the data on the partition?

    Hi guys

To my knowledge it s any recovery procedure, you would use; in both cases the drive HARD will be formatted!
Using the disc using the Toshiba HDD recovery procedure and recovery HARD drive will be formatted and you will lose the data on the second partition too.

As far as I know both put the laptop and HARD drive on the same State as on the first day of purchase!

I have a laptop of Pentecost 2 partitions in one, I have the OS and in others, I have my data, my problem is I want to format the partition with the operating system without losing my data, I intend to use for formatting recovery CD. Is this possible at all?

Another question, I bought my laptop on the Switzerland but I am Portuguese is it possible to get an in Portuguese of toshiba recovery cd?

    Thank you

    Hi Rita

    It is of course possible.
I assume that you installed your operating system on the first partition and all important files are placed on the second partition.
The recovery procedure contains the standard and expert recovery mode recovery mode.
You must choose expert mode. Here it should be possible to choose the partition where the OS image must be installed.

  • How Upgade Windows 7 Starter to professional using the CD without losing data?

My Samsung came with pre installed Windows 7 Starter. I bought the CD of Windows 7 Professional version. How to install this WITHOUT losing my existing data, WifI and Bluetooth settings? Thank you.

You can upgrade without using your installation disc using the Express upgrade with your product key. All programs and files will remain on the computer.

Upgrade Express using a key of already purchased the retail Pro/Ultimate

In Windows 7, type Anytime Upgrade in search programs and files box on the start menu, and then click the Windows Anytime Upgrade.  From there, you can enter your product key of Windows 7 Professional of the retail (full or upgrade) and perform a simple upgrade. Online Anytime Upgrade is not available in all countries. All programs and files will remain on the computer, there is no drive necessary and it takes about 10 minutes.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/products/features/Windows-Anytime-Upgrade

If you have a full key or upgrade of retail it will work with any time to upgrade. If you have an OEM key, academic key or Volume license key will not work with the Express upgrade.

  • Switch the disk in servers without losing content

    Hello

Need to change the hardware of server on a couple of servers and wanted to just change disks, and if all goes well he wouldn't be able to start on the new server.
But this isn't the case :(

I took 2 disks (RAID 1) of a UCS B200M3 and put it in a B200M2 UCS, but everything was gone in the disks when I started the server.
There is no policy of scrub applied on any of the servers.

How I did it, was that I've disabled 2 servers, (B200M3 - Windows and B200M2 - ESXi) and separated from Service profile. So I swapped the drives and associated Services profiles again (now: B200M3 - ESXi and B200M2 - Windows)

None of the servers worked when I started again.

If all understand what I tried to do, please help, if there is a way to do this.

    Concerning

    Stig

    Hi Stig,

The reason why you have lost data from your hard drive in because as you move them between a M2 a M3 blade. These blades do not use the same raid controller, so it is expected that you will lose data. Not only that, as explained in the below installation guide raid migration (go to hard drive installation section) between the blades M1, M2 and M3 is not supported. Please let me know if you have any questions.

  • Can I restore without losing data?

I don't have my Iphone saved on my computer. I need to get out of a boot loop, but I can't update. Is it possible to restore without losing any of my photos, music, etc.?

You have a backup of iCloud? Or do you mean that you have no backup at all? Has not created a backup before attempting to update the device? Apple recommend a backup before doing any type of update iOS.

Without a backup, you will lose data. You can recover from your last backup.

Hi, I have a problem with the laptop.it sometimes get crashed.i have vista.how can I fix it without losing anything, programs and documents? can I use vista dvd running vista to repair without losing anything? Please answer me...

    Hey sam127

Yes, you can do an installation of upgrade repair within a vista operating system unless it is a cover of dvd manufacturers you use

They allow normally, don't you reinstall vista back to factory standards

and make sure that the installed on the operating system service pack is not later that what is on the dvd

If this is to uninstall the service pack of the operating system doesn't upgrade the repair and then reinstall the service pack

  • How to restore my OS to Vista without losing DATA or other programs?

My Dell laptop sent to the Geek Squad because the keyboard went wrong. When I came back, they said they have updated the BIOS and recommended I have restore the operating system. I can do without losing other programs or data. If so, how?

    Hello

With most of the recovery methods, probably not. Usually, they return a machine to factory condition, wipe all data on the drive in the process. You should consult the documentation for your system or with Dell support to see if there are other options.

Unless you have insoluble problems, associated with the update of the BIOS, that said, there is no reason that you would need to reinstall. Good luck, Rick Rogers, aka "Crazy" - Microsoft MVP http://mvp.support.microsoft.com Windows help - www.rickrogers.org
