    Hi Michael,

Try these steps and see if it helps.

Disable the security software installed on your computer.

Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Once this is done, I suggest you to download the .net cleanup from the following link tool and remove all .net Framework installed on your computer. http://blogs.msdn.com/CFS-file.ashx/__key/CommunityServer-components-PostAttachments/00-08-90-44-93/dotnetfx_5F00_cleanup_5F00_tool.zip

Once all .net frameworks have uninstalled from your computer, restart the computer and then install each of the mentioned .net structures below in an order. Note: restart the computer after installing each of the .net framework file.

    .NET framework 1.1

Microsoft .NET Framework Version 1.1 redistributable package

    .NET framework 1.1 Service Pack 1 (SP1)

Microsoft .NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack 1

.NET framework 3.5 SP1 (this will also install the .NET Framework 2.0 SP2 and the .NET Framework 3.0 SP2)

Microsoft .NET Framework 3.5 Service Pack 1

    I hope this helps.

  • NET 3.5 SP1 Framework verification failed

TurboTax 2009 requires NET 3.5 SP1 Framework to run.  I get the error message: failed check .NET 3.5 Service Pack 1 framework.  Please fix the Control Panel Add/Remove.  I'm using 32 bit Vista Business SP2.

I ran repair and get the same error.  I uninstallled .NET 3.5 SP1 Framework and reinstalled (as well as updates two that go with) and rebooted and get the same error.  I have done this twice and confirmed there are in Add/Remove programs and that the updates have been installed correctly.  I ran the auditor of .NET Framework tool and it checked successfullly for all versions of .NET on my system (including 3.5 SP1).  I think I can bring some changes or changes to the registry, because the installation does not work, but do not know what they are.

That's what the Setup log gives me after that windows is unable to install net framework 3.5 sp1. I sure would appreciate it if someone could help me solve this problem. I just bought this pc about 2 months ago and it's the first question that I lived with her. Thank you

To successfully install the update, uninstall all versions of the .NET Framework on the computer, and then reinstall all the versions of the .NET Framework on the computer. You may need to work through more than one of the following methods.

Method 1: Manually remove and reinstall .NET Framework

To remove and reinstall .NET Framework manually, follow these steps:

    1. remove the .NET Framework.

    a. Click Start and then click Control Panel.

    b. double-click Add or remove programs.

    c. Note each version of the .NET Framework is already installed on the computer. Then, uninstall all versions of the .NET Framework.

    d. When you are prompted, restart the computer.

    2. use the Windows Installer CleanUp utility to clean up the State of MSI database for all versions of the .NET Framework.

.      Download the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. The following file is available for download from the Microsoft Download Center: http://download.microsoft.com/download/e/9/d/e9d80355-7ab4-45b8-80e8-983a48d5e1bd/msicuu2.exe

    a. install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility as an administrator or a user account that is a member of the local Administrators group.

    b. Click Start, point to all programs and then click Windows Installer Cleanup.

    (c) in the Windows Installer CleanUp utility, remove all Windows Installer for the .NET Framework applications.

    3. restart the computer.

    4. download and reinstall all the versions of the .NET Framework that were previously installed on the computer.
To download .NET Framework 3.5, visit the following Microsoft Web site:

http://www.Microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=333325FD-AE52-4e35-B531-508D977D32A6&displaylang=en (5. When you are prompted, restart the computer.

Note When you have reinstalled all the versions of the .NET Framework, you can use Windows Update to check for the updates of the .NET Framework.

Method 2: Use the .NET Framework automatic cleanup tool

This tool is not designed as a substitute for the standard uninstall procedure. You should try to perform an uninstall by following the steps in method 1, earlier in this article, before using this cleanup tool.

The .NET Framework cleanup tool removes the .NET Framework for you. For more information about how to obtain and use this tool, visit the following MSDN Web site:

    http://blogs.msdn.com/astebner/archive/2006/05/30/611355.aspx

Note that this cleanup tool deletes shared files and the registry keys that are used by several versions of the .NET Framework. To ensure that all versions of the .NET Framework work correctly, if you run the cleanup tool to remove the .NET Framework, you must first remove all installed versions of the .NET Framework using this cleanup tool. Then, you must reinstall all previously installed versions, starting with the version number the lowest.

Suppose you have the .NET Framework 1.1 and .NET Framework 2.0 installed on your computer, and you plan to use this cleanup tool. In this scenario, you use the cleanup tool to remove the .NET Framework 1.1 first and then use the cleanup tool to remove the .NET Framework 2.0. After you remove the two versions, you reinstall .NET Framework 1.1 and then install the .NET Framework 2.0, in that order.
