Remove unwanted windows that damages my office

Greetings:

I use Windows 7 Premium. Downloaded 'speed Fix Tool', then decided it wasn't for me. I deleted the program, but a window 'impossible record' can be removed from the workstation. Their help number seems to be false 1-855-252-5291.

Obviously, I'm not an IT professional and would appreciate help.

Thank you very much.

To have a windows.old folder you made a custom at one time Setup.

The windows.old folder contains Photos, music, etc. from the previous installation.

After a Custom Installation, you will need to copy your data.

  • REMOVE UNWANTED WINDOWS. FILES AND OLD DIRECTORY

Some time previously, I have known a 'Crash' computer and eventually re-instaqlling WINDOWS 7.  The old Windows 7 files were stored on my hard drive as Windows.old.  I have transferred from the files that I needed in the new files in Windows7, but have been unqable to remove the files and old windows.old directory.  I tried the remedies 'online' by using the disk cleanup and change the administrative control of the changes, but nothing seems to work.  More recently, I tried to open the prompt in administrative mode, and again, I was unable to delete the directory of the object or the files and the subfolders.

When it comes to remove the sub directories, with. and... the monikers, nothing happens, and online tips indicate that I'm not using a syntax of brand.

If I try to delete the directory or the files or move them to the Recycle Bin, the system advises I need Administrative approval?

    Any suggestions?

    Hello

    Thanks for the post.

When you try to delete the files and folders under the folder Windows.old the message says that you need administrative privileges.

    Method 1:

If you are the administrator of the computer, then log in with the Admin account and try to delete the folder.

    Method 2:

You run the prompt in administrator mode. Follow the steps.

    1. Click Start.
    2. Type "cmd" in the search box.
    3. Right-click on command prompt in the list.
    4. Choose "Run as Administrator"

    Method 3:

You can disable user account control and check if it helps. Check out the link and follow the steps.

What is the latest computer and office versions that will run office 97 / Access 97?

Office 97 is not compatible with any version of victory, win7 & win8 and is no longer supported (no update security)

Most of the problems are with outlook, so if you install, custom Setup to not include outlook, for a \Office97 \Program Files (x 86) folder

If using win7 see this first Ko http://support.microsoft.com/kb/978591 if this applies also to the win8, I cannot say.

If you are using win7 Pro (not the Home version) you can use virtual Windows XP and install Office 97 in this environment.

Office 2007 and especially relies entirely on win7 & win8

A more powerful/fast PC will make no difference for Office 97

    Hello

The best way is to clean install and start over.

In addition, it is not legal to have both installed version that the license is for a single installation.

If it is a dual boot with 32 bit and 64 bit installed on different partitions, there would not have been the conflicts you would have never started in one or the other.

    See you soon.

I deleted a bunch of files of music from my computer (directly in Windows Explorer), but registration for the music files deleted still appear in my Windows Media Player "library".  I tried to right click and select 'Delete', but it does NOTHING.

Any ideas how I get rid of these old entries. I hope I don't have to uninstall and reinstall Windows Media Player!

    SHE FOUND!

If you have a large number of entries in doubles in your library (or if your library is duplicated), it might be better to create a new library.

Method 1: To resolve this problem, clear the Windows Media Player database. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. exit Windows Media Player.

    2. for Windows 7: click Start, run, %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player and then click on OK.

    3. Select all the files in the folder, and then click delete on the file menu.

Note you don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.

    4. restart Windows Media Player.

Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

  • Can I safely remove the Windows.old files?

What's up guys?, I have a Compaq Presario supplied with the Windows Vista operating system, 32-bit. I backed up all my drivers on DVD and I downloaded a clean copy of Vista using an ISO on a DVD burner. I reinstalled the new copy put in my original product key, and he agreed. I reinstalled my drivers and all seems to work fine. I transferred all my data, mp3, jpeg, etc. for Flash readers and/or new programs on the new OS. The reason for the new OS was a virus infection which partially damaged the registry.  I really want to keep these files in the system for obvious reasons.
