  I don't know what you mean by "support assistance. Assume that you are referring to vCenter Assistant support.

  To receive by e-mail monthly reports, you must do 2 things (as long as you have vCenter Assistant support installed and configured):

  1. Enable proactive Support
  2. Subscribe to send monthly reports.
     1. In a Web browser, log vCenter Unit Assistant support.
     2. On the details tab, enter your email address and click Save.

• 500 - 242ea: unable to see the latest version of HP Support Assistant shortcut on my desktop

  I downloaded the latest version of HP Support Assistant 7.7.34.34 - the download file is sp68201. The current when configuration ok without error messages, but I do not understand a HP Support Assistant shortcut on my desktop. I navigated to the HP folder on pc and found the app, but the Support loaded up, but a message pops up saying "Support Assistant has detected the error and closes.

  I uninstalled and reinstalled but still get nowhere.

  How can I make it work?

  Problem solved. Had to re - install Windows 8.1 Refresh Pc did not resolve the issue

  Try the following.

  Unless you still have the installer, download the latest version of HP Support Assistant from the page on the link below - download links are to the bottom of the page - and Save the installer to your download folder.

  Then, if you do not have an extraction utility installed, download and install 7-Zip.  Please note that If you have a 64-bit installation, download and install the Installer x 64 64-bit .msi on the link below.

  Then, right click on the HPSA installer you download earlier, select Extract 7 - Zip, select the files, and then click Ok.  The newly extracted folder, right-click on UninstallHPTCA and select "Run as Administrator" - you may well see no progress of this attempt uninstalling, then leave the laptop at idle for a good 10 minutes before restarting it.

  When Windows has completely recharged, run Microsoft 'Fixit' on the link below again before trying to install the new version of HPSA...

• Problems with installing the new version of hp support assistant-sp54373

  I have a Compaq Presario CQ60-202US running Windows 7 Home Premium 32 bit.  A regular HP support assistant began

  and have downloaded the new version of HP support assistant (sp54373) and after installing the new version and rebooted the software he gave me a ' year error occurred "and the HP support assistant stopped working!

  I then tried to uninstalled HP adj. and got an error during the deletion process, so I couldn't finish the deletion process, so I did a system restore to a good configuration, so the older version of HP Asst. (ver. 6.0.5.4) can be used until I can get this fixed a problem.

  If someone had the same problem and someone has suggestions on how to solve this problem; any help would be appreciated.

• Replace the SSL certificate in VMware appliance identity

  I followed the steps to replace the device of identity, a certificate signed by a CA (latest version 2.2.1.0)

  Everything went well and I have included the private key and the certificate chain complete with the device of the expected identity.

  However when I close all browsers and access the identity unit his shows always the default signed certificate (despite the tab SSL showing otherwise!)

  I rebooted the device and replaced with a new certificate, but this made no difference. Am I missing something?

• Replacement of the SSL Cert - 5/vCenter vCenter Inventory Service

  Running on this issue during our next generation vCenter infrastructure 5 out.  I was wondering if someone else ran into the front.

  We create certificates signed internally and use these certificates to the virtual service centre and the inventory service.  I stop the vCenter service, replace the vCenter CERT, reset the DB password and then start the vCenter service.  Works very well and am able to connect to vCenter, but when I go to start the inventory (CERT for untouchables inventory service) service fails.  I worked with this in our lab, and he the certs could be replaced separated from another.  All ideas are welcome.

  It must be "testpassword".

  SA requires admin access to SSO so that it can implement all the permissions in vCenter (which the SSO administrator is a Director of vCenter normally), then it creates a user of vSA and uses within the SS and vCenter with appropriate permissions. It will not use the AD and probably should not use AD for this. I actually use SSO users for all my accounts of such vCenter service used by SA, vCops, Log Insight, etc, but I use AD related to SSO for all user accounts. Keeps the SSO accounts which is used as service accounts for the separate management of the AD, which means that if there are problems with the AD, I can still manage and use the virtualization system. I even create administrator accounts in SSO.

  According to me, there's no difference between vCenter through windows & device licenses.

  You will get vCenter license (as a whole) and now its your choice to deploy vCenter either on windows or deploy the same form of appliance. Once deployed, you must apply the license.

  If you opt for the vCenter Foundation, you will get the same set of features you deploy the VC under windows or as an appliance. It is the same for the standard vCenter license. If you deploy on windows, you need windows license as well.

• HP Pavilion 500-242ea: do not install after the OS re - install HP Support Assistant

  I had to make one count re - install Windows 8.1 and when I clicked on update HP Support Assistant... a specified message occurred during the update... Click Close. I can not install HP Support Assistant on PC. I downloaded the HP website sp68201 and it ran... the installation process went well but I see still no support help icon in the taskbar even after quick access HP Support Assistant ticking. I checked my pc and HP Wizard is installed in programs and found HPSE and clicked and HP Support Assistant main window appears and then HPSE does not. I uninstalled and reinstalled several times without result.

  I want to do a re factory - set again.

  I can't even re - install through Recovery Manager utility.

  Can anyone suggest how to get Wizard HP work?

  I managed to get HP Support Assistant job by running Microsoft Fix It program. I had to restart and run repaired several times. Then, I ran a deep analysis of all files HPSA previously using an uninstall program and deleted remainders. Then I reinstalled sp6801 file and everything is ok. I think that when doing a full reinstall something gets corrupted somewhere in the registry.

• Unable to do the updates recommended by HP Support Assistant

  I use HP Pavilion m6 with Win7. HP Support Assistant says that there is an important update for Intel My WiFi and wireless drivers for MS Windows 7, which consists of a 206,14 MB file. I get a message that says that the wireless lan and bluetooth are not connected, but Device Manager indicates that they are working properly. What gives?

  Hello. I ran into the same problem tonight with several downloads showing that they need to be updated. Whenever I tried to download, it would get stuck on the part of the installation process. Finally, I raised the 'Check for HP updates now' and all of the alerts went off, showing that everything was up-to-date. Not really sure what happened or why...

  I first noticed the alerts after having my internet cable and the phone turned back today. I just thought this bc I just got a pop up for my computer need to reboot for updates... I've been reporter restart for a few days and that might have something to do with it also, but that caused no problems in the past.

  My University is compels me to replace the Dell's SSL certificate in OMSA with a certificate from a certification authority.  We use InCommon.

  I generated a certificate using Microsoft IIS request.  InCommon generated the certificate and got sent back links to a variety of formats.

  Ok.  I have an answer.

  As far as I know, the interface Dell OMSA itself does not have to import the intermediate certificates (returns an error) and cannot be used to create a useful CSR (signature request) because you can't specify your own institutional settings. Our CA would not authenticate the CSR request generated by the Dell OMSA interface, even if it would incorporate new certificates (which she seems to fail at the).

  The simplest approach is to generate a CSR in Windows IIS, the authenticated certificate back from your CA, and then to export to a .pfx file (private, final, intermediate entity certificate and certificates root key, extended attributes).

  Use IBM tool called keyman (download www.ibm.com/developerworks).  Use the version of Windows.

  It can convert a .pfx file in a keystore apache in 3 easy steps.  1. create a new key file

  2 import the .pfx file 3. Save the key file.

  Tips on the internet suggest keeping all the passwords the same - pfx export, keystore, key, etc.

  Edit the server.xml file in the apache server to use your new password.

  Only downside is that your password will be readable text in the server.xml file.  In the original file server.xml file Dell used system tools or java to hide passwords.

  It is not really something of great value in AUVs to database, except the basic lines, which can be easily recreated so you are probably better if you uninstall / reinstall vum and re-init the db.

  I haveen strugling to SSL certificates installed for a few days now, it always seems to fail on the vpxd_servicecfg command.

  There are more out there, but they all simular to the other. I followed it to the letter, but all I get is:

  VC_CFG_RESULT = 650

  The only thing I can emagine is that there is a difference in vcenter 5.5 and 6.0, but else then I have don't know how to solve this problem.
