Replacement of HDD on Satellite L670D - 13H

Hello

I plan to replace my internal with a new HD like mine has a lot of bad sector and this force reinstall me my system every two months (bad sectors seems to be located on the C partition where Windows system)

the current disc is a MK5065GSX, which is hard to find. This is why I would like to know what HD I could buy instead of this model that can be mounted in my laptop.

My main problem is I want to make sure that I can still use my recovery DVD with my new HD.

I saw the MK6465GSX is available for sale, but the size is slightly larger than my current one (640 GB instead of 500 GB). I need to buy HD with the same size as my only original so that the recovery work?

Thanks in advance for your answers

> So I want to know what HD I could buy instead of this model that can be mounted in my laptop.

You n t need to buy exactly the same HARD disk that was built in the L670.
You can use the other HARD disk, but you should pay attention to the the HARD disk controller.
You need a SATA 2.5 HARD.

Given that the SATA controller must manage any size of HARD drive, you can also use a 640GO.

    Hello

    I currently have a problem on my computer (Satellite U840 - 10R Reference: PSU4WE-00E017FR).

The SSD (32 GB) from my hard drive part seems to be broken. I can't activate the SSD feature in the Intel software or I am in big trouble, so I disabled it. However, I can still use my computer because the part of the HARD drive (500 GB) is ok and the system.

My question: is it possible to take all the drive of my computer and put a new SSD a place?

How is it? This is similar to a 2.5 HDD classic?

Would what kind of interface I find him inside? (Sata 3?)

    Thank you

I don't know how old is your machine, but if the warranty is still valid I think you should contact Toshiba service and ask for replacement. Warranty will cover the costs.

In any case, this 32 GB SSD's with mSATA type slot multi-level (MLC) cell. On Google you can see what it looks like. Generally, replacement should not be problematic but if don't have experience with computer laptop disassembly you shouldn't do it alone.

Is that SSD is placed directly under the lid and place between RAM and WLAN card.

How to replace the hard drive in this notebook?

    Hello

If I remember well HDD is under the optical media drive. Optical media drive is fixed with a screw that you see above the player. Remove the screw and remove the drive from the Bay.

HARD drive is fixed, I think, 4 screws (probably black). When the screws are removed you can use two fingers to remove the HDD from the connector plug. I hope you now know how to put the new HARD drive.

Tried reloading windows two times, no joy. I'm not that computer savy if someone could help me sort or the disc is not compatible?
    Thank you

Usually, you should be able to use the recovery disk to install the Toshiba on another HDD image

But in my experience there is sometimes a problem using this recovery disk if the new HARD disk drive has a different storage size.

One of the reasons that could come from this format of HARD drive recovery disk and create new partitions. The defined recovery disk HARD drive to factory settings and creates the same partitions that were available on the old HDD.

If this is the reason for this problem, I advise to use the Microsoft Windows disk rather than the Toshiba recovery disc.

  • How to change the Satellite L670D-103 using new SSD 80 GB HARD drive?

    Hello

I have a Satellite L670D-103 with a 320 GB HARD drive running at 5400 RPM which is too slow for me.

So I plan to change this factory by a new SSD HDD to increase the performance of the overall system :)

But as the SSD are expensive, I have only a 80 GB SSD.

I built the recovery on a USB media and I want to use it to restore my system to the new SSD (I previously did the space needed to ensure that all data can be stored on my new SSD 80 GB space; p)

Retrieving SSD partitioning new procedure is done without error, but when copying image to restore data to freshly created the partition, one not enough space error stop the process!

It seems that the recovery procedure is possible on a hard drive that is equal or superior to the original size of the disk (320 gb).

So, how can I restore mysystem on my new SSD?

    Thank you
    Stéphane.

    > It seems that the recovery procedure is possible on a hard drive that is equal or superior to the original size of the disk (320 gb)

To my knowledge, you have different recovery options:

(* 1) * recovery of factory default software

    (a) recovery to out of box state
    (b) recovery without changing the HARD drive partitions
    (c) recovery of a custom size partition

    (* 2) * "erase the HARD drive.

I think that if you choose factory default software recovery of-> recovery to out of box state then the recovery would create exactly the same size of partition on the new SSD which were available on the 320 GB HARD drive.
I think this might be the reason why you have received this message.

Perhaps you need to choose the 3rd option Recovery on a custom size partition

    What do you think?

    Hello

I bought a laptop: Satellite L670D - 14 p and one can't find this one on the registration page (does not appear in the list).
How can I do to make the guarantee?

I live in Wallis (Wallis and Futuna in Pacific Island) and this country does not appear in the list too.

Wallis and Futuna Island in the Pacific? WOW what a great place

In any case, not this area belongs not to the EMEA region.

Satellite L670D - 14 p PSK3JE-08H005FR belongs to the European series of Toshiba and my knowledge, standard warranty is valid only for the countries in the EMEA region.

  • Drivers for Win XP Toshiba Satellite C660D - 13H

    Hello
I have Satellite C660D - 13H and I just want to work with win XP but unfortunately I can't find the drivers for my model on the Toshiba site. It is possible for this model to work with XP? Because this processor is too weak to Win 7?
    Can someone help me?

    Thank you for the advice,
    S. Stoev

    Hello

It seems that Win XP is not compatible with the Satellite C660D and that's why you can't find the drivers on Toshibas driver pages.
But even if Win XP drivers are not available, you can install Win XP.
But you need to find the XP drivers at your own hand.

Here is a nice document how to determine the necessary drivers:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/Ann.jspa?annID=78

You can also try some XP drivers out of other models of laptops as Satellite C650D

But I recommend to use Win 7, since it is the best OS from Microsoft.
The processor is not too low. Even my 6 years old notebook use Win 7. This OS, I installed and it works properly.

  • Replacing the battery for Satellite Pro A60

Can anyone advise where the the best/least expensive place is to get a replacement battery for my satellite pro A60, Ive. Ive left permanently plugged causing the batteries to be tired of apparentrly. If I turn the machine on at full load and nothing doing, the battery will expire in 15 minutes. Replacing the battery is cited as A £99, VAT in addition to toshiba - y at - it somewhere cheaper or better size. ?

    Any suggestion is appreciated.

    Carol

I put t know where is the cheapest place to purchase the battery, but in my opinion, the offers online are the cheapest.
You can see the Toshiba site options and accessories:
    HTTP://EU.COMPUTERS.TOSHIBA-EUROPE.COM/CGI-BIN/TOSHIBACSG/JSP/OPTIONSANDACCESSORIESHOME.DO?SERVICE=EU&ID=ONLINE _ SHOP

Here, you can select your model of laptop, and you will find the compatible battery.
You didn t write about you model exactly but I think that the battery pack (Li-ion, 12 cells, 6450mAh) with the PA3382U-1BRS part number must be compatible. But check before you buy!

In any case, you could Google for that number and I m you will find many offers online.

  • Cannot install utilities on Satellite L670D-103 with Win7 32-bit Toshiba

    Hello

I have a problem with my brand new Satellite L670D-103. To install my design software (AutoCAD_32bit), I had to install a 32 bit OS. So, now, I'm running under Windows7 32 bit and my CAD software works great, perfect. The problem is that I can't find any TOSHIBA (utilities or added value or HotKey) software that runs on Windows7 32 bit for my type of computer. If the shortcut keys do not work and my WIFI is turned off! (I need to use the Fn + F8 keyboard shortcut to turn on!)

I tried to install the other version of "Toshiba Value added package" of another type of computer SATELLITE but it never works...

Someone has an idea? is there anyone from Toshiba support help me?

  • Using headphones with Satellite L670D-105

    Data:
    Toshiba Satellite L670D-105
    Windows 7 64
    Realtek HD Audio Manager

I am trying to connect a headset, but it only partially works.
Most of the Realtek software above is not available for me.

In other words, the headphones work, but I can't access to portions of the software that would allow me to switch from headphones and speakers. That was my main problem early.

The speakers work, but the sound from the laptop cannot be disabled, since these options in the software are not available for the changes for me.

I hand in the laptop soon, who was the Adviser of the Forum German Toshiba.
[Just look at the photos: steckerbild - lender.blogspot.de] and to ignore the funny language.

It was from the start that caps should be able to move more completely than they, like everyone else has so far. The first photo shows you how they still stick, I put white on paper to show the part which cannot be convinced to go in others.

The next picture below shows the plugs attached to the laptop. It feels because they do not completely connect, I can't access the software and switch from the headset to the speakers.
These software options are not available for me.

That's when I contacted Toshiba Forum speaking German and they advised me to use force, which honestly does not help, or by hand in the laptop.

any ideas? Is this a known issue?

    Hello

As far I know the phone head and takes three drivers support simple microphone input mini jack 3,5.

Images provided by the link in your post shows exactly this 3.5 mm mini jacks 3 drivers.

    > In other words the headphones work, but I can't access to portions of the software that would allow me to switch from headphones and speakers

I found a thread on the same topic:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=65295

The sound came through the speakers, even if the helmet has been inserted.
In the upper right corner, there is a little yellow folder called "the connector settings."
Here, you can re-enable the setting "enable popup dialog box, when the unit is plugged.
So now when you plug-in an external speaker or a headset, it appears, and I select the option "helmet" (instead of "line-in"), and then the sound only through the headphones / speaker ext.

  • Upgrading RAM on Satellite L670D-106

    Hello world

I want to ask about upgrading RAM for laptops,

I have the Toshiba Satellite L670D-106 want a change from 4 GB to 8 GB. In fact, I have 2 x 2 GB 1066 MHZ Ram inside. What Type of RAM can itake max? 1066 or 1300 or 1600 DDR 3?

    THX for your answers

Toshiba offers modules to 4 GB compatible and tested for your machine and there PA3677U-1M4G part number. Check the specs of this module and pick up info that one you can use.

Please note: a lot of people are trying to use some modules cheap and later report here on this forum about the issues so I highly recommend you to obtain 100% compatible RAM.

See also the page of Kingston. Kingston offers quality and compatible modules for Toshiba laptops.

  • Satellite L670D - 15 d does not start successfully after upgrading RAM

    Hello

    I have a Satellite L670D - 15 d and now I've passed on SSD.
In this context, I wanted to increase the RAM (2 GB DDR3-1066 original installed).

I bought the Mushkin 8 GB kit DDR3-1066.
In the BIOS are displayed both modules of 8 GB RAM.

After the logo screen, the white course remains the top left corner and the boot process stops.

Does someone has an idea and can help me?

The questions is related to the new RAM inserted.
But I m confused what RAM is installed exactly now; Modules of RAM of 2 GB + 8 GB or a single module of RAM to 8 GB?

I m request because the laptop Satellite L670D - 15 d supports 8 GB of RAM, and from my point of view of some 10 GB of RAM (2 GB + 8 GB) is too much.

That's why I recommend you to use 2 x 4 GB RAM modules.
Kingston modules provide good quality value ration. Modules are not the cheapest, but in most cases, these modules don cause compatibility issues t. You know

  • How to add video memory in my Satellite L670D-159?

    Hi all

I have a satellite L670D-159 with 8 GB RAM and 1 TB of HARD drive.

When I look at the record, I noticed that the video RAM could be upgraded to 1917 MB with 4 GB of RAM and an x 64 system.

    I use Windows 7 Home Premium x 64.
When I look at the video card, I saw that only affected the video RAM 256 MB.

I wanted to know how I could increase this value to 512 MB or 1 GB.
I found nothing in the BIOS and video driver.

If anyone has information of operation really, it'll be great.

    Sincerely.

    Christophe

    Hi Christophe

Unfortunately this option does not exist. Everything works automatically and the control system of the use of the Ram for video operations.
