Replacement of RAM & upgrading

Hello

I have a Pavilion Media Center m7580n.

It came with 2x1GB PC2-4200 DDR2 SDRAM with speed of 533 MHz (Greek to me).

2 years ago I had to switch to a different model motherboard, but I think that everything else is the same.

Now, I have a problem...

I have a show of technicolor of bars turning on the computer. No bios no screen... bars from the outset.

The computer does not start properly, because it is configured to connect to my home network on start up... but unable to do, make alll the files inaccessible for me.

I said that this is probably due to faulty RAM sticks.

I was counting on the upgrade anyway, but don't know anything about RAM.

my new motherboard said since I am an OS, 32-bit it can read only reliably up to 3 GB of RAM. I was planning on buying a 2 GB and 1 GB module.

Can someone explain the rest for me, and what I should look for re pc2-4200 DDR2 SDRAM?

He also, lists of approved suppliers to 667, 800, and 1066 MHz, but 1066 is supported only if my system is AM2 +. I have no idea what it means.

My original mb was an Asus A8M2N - LA, the current mb is an Asus M2N68 - AM SE2. processor is an Athlon 64 X 2 (W) 4400 + 2.2 GHz.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Hello

You have an ASUS motherboard , so your best bet is to go on the site of ASUS and look over the list for the DIMM memory qualified for your motherboard.  The ASUS support site also has manual motherboard that will help you understand how to install the memory DIMM modules.

The Asus M2N68-AM SE2 could have been taken off the market then you might need to contact ASUS support directly to obtain the necessary information.

Try this memory bootable Diagnostics CD. Download memtest86 iso file and burn the disk using Imgburn. You may need to remove a dimm at a time, if diagnosis runs into errors.

  • Satellite R630-13F - RAM upgrade

    Hi all

My R630 is faced with a newly added software for Photoshop (CS5 version). Whenever it is quite slow to open and try to merge the picture for the economy.

I was wondering if I can upgrade the RAM. With a very limited knowledge, I would like to know if I need to buy an additional (if there is a vacancy for it), or I need to get one to replace the old.

I think increasing the memory to 4 GB, but I was wondering if it will be enough for Photoshop. Thanks a lot for any input.

    Best wishes

    Tim

    Hey Buddy,

RAM upgrade is not a problem because it is easy and can be done in a few minutes.

Satellite R630 has Intel HM55 chipset, and the maximum capacity is 8 GB. This means that you can install 4GB module in each memory location. Also an upgrade to 4 GB is not a problem, you can keep your 2 GB module and just buy a new 2 GB module. The module DDR3-10066 part number is PA3676U-1M2G.

If a MacBook Pro RAM and drvie hard can be modified/improved depends on the submodel and we do not know yours. There are dozens of variations of the MacBook Pro issued since 2006, and you do not want guessing us!

    Hello

If you want to increase the RAM to 1 GB then you need another 512 MB module.
As I know the laptop support modules DDR2 PC2-5300 RAM and generally the 512 MB PC2 - 5300 DDR2 RAM (PA3511U1M51) must be compatible.

  • HP Compaq Elite 8300 SFF: RAM upgrade

    Hello!

I tried to replace the 4 GB of RAM, upgrade to 8 GB with a pair of G.Skill. Unfortunately, it didn't turn out as planned, instead, I had a series of beeps and a black screen. RAM details below:

    old RAM: Samsung M378B5273CH0-CK0

    4GB 2Rx8 PC3-12800U-11-10-B0 1.5V

    New RAM: G.SKILL RipJaws X

    F3-12800CL9D-8GBXL

    PC3-12800 4GBx2

    CL9-9-9-24 1.5V

The Rams are not compatible with the system or are there other factors that could have caused it?

    Claude, welcome to the forum.

Here's Maintenance and Service Manual for the computer.  On Page 94, you will find the section of memory for the computer.  Please read it carefully.  What I've read, only seems to me that the new memory is compatible with the motherboard.  I think that the timings are incorrect.

  • ProBook 440 G2: RAM Upgrade will void the warranty?

    Hello

After a lot of dilemma, I buy THISlaptop.

My main concern is the "on-site 5-year guarantee" it comes with.

This laptop has now only 4 GB of RAM. I want to add an another 4 GB myself.

In doing so, it will take Bay opening to service the laptop.

Open myself for a RAM upgrade will void the warranty?

In addition, no one knows how much total RAM this computer supports? How many slots is there?

The page of the product didn't.

I tried to contact HP technical support by email, and I have to enter a serial number to reach them. I entered the serial number of my laptop current (and also a probook), but I think that the agent did not read my email properly. Instead of answering my question, he sent me a link to extend the warranty on my laptop today.

    Thank you...

    Hello

According to the Manual, it has 2 slots:

See Page 2, 3, 47, 48, to get the instructions before and during the replacement process. Even if it is a simple procedure if you do not have confidence in replacement, it gives to the HP service center, they will do it for you. Opening the door to service memory will not void the warranty - but if you daamage something in the replacement process, it will void the warranty.

Please get the exact configuration and preference of the same brand (like this one in the slot) of RAM, mentioned in the manual.

You can run this toolto know the details of the installed RAM sticks & moving forward with the purchase of od sizes appropriate sticks needed to make it to 8 GB in total.

  • Unrecognized RAM upgrade - HP Pavilion DV9628nr

Hello! I recently updated my old Windows Vista 32-bit, HP Pavilion DV9628nr to a configuration of SDDR 2 x 1 GB for a 1 x 1 GB, 1 x 2 GB configuration, waiting for my RAM available for increase of 2 GB to 3 GB, but that's my BIOS or my system properties seem to take account of the change (I finished analyzing memory BIOS boot successfully). I did this because as I understand it, the 32-bit Windows System I'm running can recognize only 3 to 3.5 GB of RAM upgraded anyway, while I was trying to be economic. Is there a problem when you use an old 1 GB SDDR wand in a slot and a new 2 GB of SDDR stick in the other? I reinstalled the new stick in both slots, without success. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

    Hello:

It is either poorly labeled or screwed up somehow.

I would certainly return it and get another.

If the replacement does not work, try a different brand of memory, and if it does not, you have a strange problem with your PC!

    Hello team HP,

I use a Compaq Presario CQ40 - 144TU, Windows 7 64 bit. I want to upgrade RAM. But I don't know exactly the frequency of the ram to be updated. What is 667 Mhz or 800 Mhz?  which is more suitable for my laptop?

Is it possible for me to upgrade to 6 GB. In the main location 4 GB and 2 GB in the secondary location.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

You machine has 2 GB of RAM in two slots curently (1 GB each)- 2048 MB (1 x 2048 MB):

    http://support.HP.com/EE-en/document/c01573098

It supports 8 GB (4 GB) total. Yes, you can switch to 6 GB. RAM are cheap now, you have to throw away two 1 GB parts - account up to 4 + 2 or 4 + 4 won't cost you much more.

Please use manual #13 to the following list (Compaq Presario CQ40 Notebook PC - Maintenance and Service of Guide)

    http://support.HP.com/us-en/product/Compaq-Presario-CQ40-notebook-PC-series/3752105/model/3815418/manuals

#2 shows you what RAM you need. page #54 shows you the part number and how to replace the RAM.

    Good luck.

  • Satellite 3000 - X 4: Question about RAM upgrade

    Hi all

I'm looking for more information on how to upgrade the RAM for my SATELLITE S3000 - X 4 (120 MB RAM, 14 GB HD I think!). Here's a little history...

This laptop is about 5 years old, and I'm hoping to speed up a bit. I don't want to buy a new computer because she usually serves my needs.

I emptied my hard drive files and unwanted programs. And I ran Jv16 Power Tools to clean the registry and minimize starts the process.

It's always a little slow and if I am considering upgrading the RAM because I think I can do this for about £50. My questions are:

What type of upgrade RAM should I look to buy? (This laptop have 2 RAM "plug-ins" or just one?)
What is the size of RAM upgrade is the maximum an S3000 - X 4 could face?
Could a novice like me to adapt to the style DIY upgrade?

Thanks for any help you can offer!

    Gabrielle

    Hi Gabrielle

He is old enough. I looked for some info, but unfortunately I n t have not found much. The device can use the 512 MB of RAM, and you can use 2 sticks of memory. I'm not 100% sure but I think you can use the module with tracking number PA3086U - 1. 25 M.

The unit is not known to me but please check the underside. On most units, you can find coverage of memory.
