Replacements of Precision

http://www.digitalartsonline.co.UK/News/creative-hardware/these-new-Dell-precision-laptops-are-smaller-more-powerful-better-looking/  This article specifies the precision line will be replaced with 3 models.  I was not able to find these news anywhere in Dell.  Does anyone have information?

Hi Rc1949,

  • Replacement of disks on Precision 390 - size limit?

Hello everyone, I have a Precision 390 with a pair of Sata drives of 160 GB installed in a Raid1 configuration for data redundancy.

I would like to install a larger capacity replacement discs.

My question is, is there a limit to the size of HDs can be installed for the RAID configuration and also will be SATA3 readers work ok even if the controller is to spec sooner? (i.e. readers default to a mode inherited from SATA1 or SATA2?)

I hope that someone has the answers for this.

    Thank you very much

    Chris.

    Hi Chris,

Up to 2 TB hard drives will work without problem. 3 SATA disks should work, but my experience has shown that the "backward compatibility" is not always as compatible as it sounds. Yes, default readers to some SATA mode to your system. Honestly, however, it has no real performance difference for disks rotational between SATA 1, 2 or 3.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello Jim

There is no public document with precise description. I put t know how old is your device, but please be careful with the guarantee.

In any case if you want to swap the keyboard, you must remove the plastic part on the back of the keyboard. Be careful, how you do it. If the plastic part is removed, you can see the screw that the difficulty of the keyboard. Removing the work is already done. The last thing is to disconnect the keyboard.

As I said to be careful and I hope that you will not damage a few other components.

    Good luck!

    Hello

In my opinion, you must exchange the TFT with exactly the same. In this case, you'll be sure to avoid any problems.

Besides, you'll be very happy boy if someone can give you a precise answer on this subject.

  • Replacement of ODD on Satellite P10

    Hello

My UJ820B disc began to play up, which gives power calibration error reports. I recently bought a UJ830B to replace, but although physically identical, including the screw on the bezel, it does not read discs - CDs and DVDs.

It appears in the correct device manager as a UJ830S and as you can see in 'My computer' as a DVD player. When I put in a disk, the clicks in the car and I think that she strives to find. When I take the disc, it seems that the disc had been run.
The player flashes with the flashing icon on the pointer of the mouse [Win XP] but is only it works.

A rare opportunity when I put a DVD in the drive, the software WinDVD launched but that's it!
    The BIOS is V1.6 [I have a version PSP16E of the P10].
A curiosity is that, during the "BIOS boot sequence diagnostic Phase there is no reference to the DVD player when the UJ830 is installed, but there is when the original UJ820 is installed..."

There are all sorts of subjects related to DVD and master/slave settings, firmware etc, but if XP is seeing the drive do not have jumped the barrier or things are not as they seem?
Any of you good people have ideas about what could be the problem? Your opinion would be very appreciated...

    Thank you!

    Hello

I read your ad very precisely and for me it seems to be a malfunction of the player.
You said that the power calibration error pops up this error appears only if the lens of the drive cannot be calibrated in the right position.

Hmm, I put t know where you bought the disc, but I think you should contact your dealer and replace it with another drive.

    Good luck

  • need to precise specifications

    Hello

I was wondering, as many models may come with different components, where should I look to find out what components are included in the laptop?

In the example, lets take this laptop lenovo:

    http://www.linlap.com/lenovo_thinkpad_edge_e530

I don't want to buy one with the broadcom as a means of broadcom wireless adapter * Beep * problems with linux Os.

All online stores just tell that you have wireless on the laptop, but not if it is a braodcom or intel centrino adapter.

What I know, is a reference to lenovo (NZQMCMB in a store I was looking for), but I can't find the detailed specifications for it (not even on the lenovo Web site).

so... How the hell I can understand the innards of this laptop?

    Thank you

I fear that we are reaching the limits of my knowledge. Here are a few thoughts:

Some machines _do_ specify what card is available. On the Thinkpad T series, X and W (IIRC), you can switch the ThinkPad unspecified wireless Intel Centrino Advanced or Ultimate. That's what I was doing.

Your other alternative is to download the hardware Maintenance Manual (HMM) on the Lenovo site. It gives specific instructions on how to remove and replace almost any part of one of their systems. Recently, I worked on a Thinkpad X61s and disconnected the card wireless in the process. I didn't even know that was possible.

I imagine you want to buy the machine with the precise card you want, but if all else fails you can replace it with the card you want to (or have a shop to do this).

Alternatively, you might consider another machine that specifies.

Or, maybe the seller that you talk to would have access to additional information (I guess).

I don't know no perfect solution for you, but maybe these ideas to help some.

  • Replacement of the joint for W530

    Hi all

A few months ago, in this forum, I asking me for information about the compatibility of signs for the wince my Panel W530, AUO B156HTN01, is a less powerful Panel. I get the contrast ratio is less than 400: 1 (average 330:1) and color cast I get is too blue. While I have a laugh X i1 Display Pro to correct the pitches with the LUT of the graphics card, I still have problems with the angles of vision (very bad) and a bit of a magenta cast and the low level of contrast as well as the screen door effect which is annoying in white or near white surfaces.

I'm a photographer and I would approve this computer for work on the field and color delicate work, but the difference between this and my NEC monitor is too big to ignore. So, in the hope that the v4 or v7 will improve things compared to the Panel that gave me, I feel as if I had nothing much to lose.

So, I investigated a bit trying to get their hands on a v4 B156HW01 panel or a v7 (brilliant with better contrast than v4) and increasingly used those cannibalized from other systems, I was never able to get a good replacement.

So far. I managed to get an old stock seller through a contact in Asia and will get a v7 v4s being really out of stock everywhere wherever I can find. Those who try to sell you v4s you will likely receive a "compatible" part... but not the same panel.

I know that brilliant is not everyone and it's certainly not mine, but I have colleagues who work with happiness on their macs very bright and while they dislike screens nice masts, chandelier did not prevent any of them to work. The difference of color in the B156HTN01 permanently prevents me from working so I'll give that a go. Better precision on glossy paper is better that a shit mate.

I will post differences on a before and after the State of the computer. To make it fair, I'm going to re - install everything (windows and batch) to ensure that any previous color calibration is left on this computer to change the perception of the signs.

If anyone in the United Kingdom or HAD is interested, I'd be happy to get another, and we can divide the total. The panels would come to England so if you are in the European Union you need cover shipping from me to you.

    Final part.

For anyone in England, be aware that your package may take about 10 days to pass customs and an extra 48 hours to Parcelforce to deliver the parcel.

So, after this long wait, I received the new v7 Panel and began to make the Exchange.

Before that, however, to give the Panel a B156HTN01 fair to prove himself, I took some pictures with the Lenovo default color management profile. See the first launch of two images, blue, from two angles.

Now to my point of view, I ran a quick profile with the largest range of i1 Profiler (Yes, I know it has its drawbacks, but for a quickie profile is not horribly wrong and the contrast ratio is persistent)

    This is the result.

See here the contrast ratio is 247: 1... very bad.

I followed the video of this gentleman to do the Exchange.

    http://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=Igk0MiqZ_ck

To take the bezel out, however, I used a lens clening Microfiber cloth to place my fingers between the screen and the bezel and he jumped in an easier way than shown in this video. So if you go by with the spirit which.

Tests after replacement to see if it works.

    Glossy screen W530

Profile color management on the new vs NEC PA241w v7 for reference monitor (the NEC screen is calibrated to 6500 k, range of the aRGB and gamma 2.2) by default

Now, with DispcalGUI takes some time, but, since we want to measure the success or failure of the new Panel v7, I ran it. The following screenshot shows the almost corresponding screens with the v7 and NEC monitor AFTER profliing with DispcalGUI.

I was a little tired so I missed the horizontal framing for these two pictures. It is the report of DiscalpGUI.

Mind the 632:1 now and the black luminance contrast ratio is not too bad to 0.2 cd/m2. It is not a contrast ratio impressive many screens of 1000 +: 1 of today, but it's very good for a 2 year Panel, able to display most of the Adobe RGB color range as seen in this comparison with the NEC Spectraview graph. DispcalGUI for v7 on the left and for NEC PA241w Spectraview on the right.

On DispcaGUI, the dotted line represents the spectrum AdobeRGB and Spectraview is the yellow line.

    Not bad, huh?

  • HP G62-451SA notebook: replace a laptop computer key HP G62-451SA

    Hello

I had to remove one of the keys on my laptop and now can't put it back on! Ive been online and on youtube, but nobody seems to be able to advise how to replace a. It's just one of the standard buttons and I have all the parts. I can't seem to be able to get help from HP because I am out of warranty

    Can someone help me please?

    Thank you!

It is extremely hard to do and even harder to explain how do. You must first get a mental picture of how the key is attached and how to build media bit (I call them the 'bridge') under the key. I just spent an hour doing this Saturday on one last model G62 and it has not been easy.

This is useful, if not precisely there:

    https://www.YouTube.com/watch?v=0IB5sFMXZFc

I just often say xxxx it and buy a new keyboard for $15 on the theory that my time is more valuable than that.

  • Default command num is 0. Can it be replaced by a white?

NUM of default command to 0 on the front panel. Can it be replaced by a default white? I know one way to do this is to convert the number to a string. But on my face, I have an array of bunches and I prefer to keep the type of some as digital controls showing a white rather than a zero.

@chuck72352 - tst gave you some good options for display as an empty space, but the short answer is - not, there is no way to have control have no number in there by default.

The long answer (regarding why) has to do with LabVIEW data allocation and lifetime memory.  In LabVIEW, unlike many other programming languages, a value is created or initialized as soon as you place an indicator or constant control over your VI and exist only when LabVIEW is performing a garbage collection automatic operation.  In your case, as soon as you place a digital order, you initialized a digital object.  Because the digital object is initialized, it must have some value.  If she did not, you can run you code and have no number on the wire.  What it seems you are trying to achieve is a digital object that has no value, that generally does not exist in LabVIEW.  While a number double-precision has something similar to this (value NaN), most of the data types in LabVIEW are never explicitly created in the code, rather they exist as soon as the code is written.

Anyway, sorry if this has been a bit too academic, but there is a fundamental difference in LabVIEW that migration to the language many people do not realize.  To a LabVIEW data type that has a life set to check the references of data value.

  • Precision digital multimeter

    Hi all

I just noticed this, but the precision (number of decimal digits) must be the same on a meter and its digital display? It does not make sense to me. If the meter not a - 10, 0, 10, why should we be forced to display as - 10,000, 0.000, 10,000 if we want 3-digit digital display below?

In other words, I want another precision on the meter itself and its digital display.

    Am I missing something?

I strongly support your opinion! Until now I used to replace the digital meter a meter with an independent digital indicator exactly to reach another level of accuracy between them, but this can be problematic, because you can't forget one of the indicators was updated with strange effects obvious.

Please repost this in the exchange of ideas and I'm going to Bravo this idea immediately!

  • Replacement of LTC

I am trying to generate a range of function by using the option 'generate the function tree.  I need two bars LTC (cursor), but seems to take only the last defined DLV.

The code snippet below shows correctly the LTC with correct FmtWinOpt enums

///HIPAR 7/Format with which to evaluate the passed in value
       ///SLD 7/FmtWinOpt

    But if I change

///HIPAR 7/Format with which to evaluate the passed in value
    ///SLD 7/FmtWinOpt
///HIPAR 8/resolution to be used when printing the number to the screen
    ///SLD 8/Precision

The slider for setting 7 displays more (even if the aid is still correct) and now I have a slider for setting 8 showing correctly.

It's something I'm missing or am I allowed only 1 slider by function?

    Thank you

    Hello Mark!

I'm afraid that the behavior you're seeing seems to be a bug in the mechanism of generation of CVI function tree and there is currently no work around for this problem (you can follow the bug in the future with the ID #456464).

The only way you could correct the behavior is to manually replace the commands of the ring with the slider controls in generates multi-function.

Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience!
