    Hello

Are there opportunities to replace the optical drive of this model? With or without a screwdriver? I want to replace the drive combo of origin (without work) by the other Toshiba combo drive. Can I replace the optical drive or only the Toshiba official centres can do this operation (simply)?

    Thank you very much

    André - Portugal

    Hi Andre,

Change your optical drive is pretty easy (with a screwdriver). your player is usually set with one or more screws and once these are removed the reader can be slipped out of position.

You can then remove the plastic trim of the components of the original drive and install them on your new drive (unless a new one is delivered complete with all the accessories). You will also need to remove the metal from your old drive brackets since they will have to be placed on your new drive.

Insert the new drive in your laptop computer and fix it with the screws that you removed in the original.

When you start your laptop should automatically detect the new drive. Note that the boot process may be slower than normal because the system will get the proper drivers etc for your reader doesn't and will update your configuration with the new information files.

The important thing is to get a new optical drive with the same dimensions as the original.

  • Star Wars h.e. 15-an000nl: optical drive Swap with a ssd will void the warranty?

    Hi all

I am a proud new owner of this machine, and since it comes with a 1 TB hard drive 5400 RPM and I am also a happy owner of an SSD, I was wondering if the optical drive with the ssd Exchange void my warranty?

I read a little the other q / a and I see that if I try to reach the drive, with all the screws and the cover plastic to raise, I'll probably end by unsecured (actually is not very clear if it's for sure or I'll use a ssd tested non hp...) and since then to remove the optical drive , I just remove a screw, buy an adapter and you're good to go...

So my question is: what limits should I beyond the warranty for you? It's just the opening action itself, or there is more?

And since I write here, optical drive sata port is a sata3 as (I hope) the hard disk it is? Would you recommend this operation?

Thanks in advance for any assistance received...

The optical drive is an authorized user of replacement so you can put an SSD in an optical caddy and will not void the warranty but I do not recommend: 1. the interface is slower; and 2. You cannot start it. Unfortunately, access to the internal hard drive space is verboten and may void the warranty. We can speculate and say if it's done well, nobody would know and likely HP won't guarantee, but we can get official word on this, so the smartest thing is to assume the worst. If you don't care the guarantee and want just your laptop to be quick, we are happy to help you with the understanding that you risk the warranty.

Recently installed ESX 3.5 on 60 day trial on the new server, HP Proliant ML350 G5, found that what connection by customer VMWare Inf as not able to see the host Sata optical drive, ditto even VMS applies when creating new virtual machines, must use emulated local laptop computer client IDE drive to see the ISO image.

Regarding the browser data store.  Toggle the display of data warehouses in the vi client.  Or press ctrl-shift-d.  Here, right-click on your data store, and then select Browse datastore.  When that opens, add at the top of your taskbar, next to the folder icon, is a download icon, a disc with an arrow.  This will allow you to download files to your data store.  Navigate to a folder in your data store and download the ISO to.

It is a roundabout process, but will work if other methods fail.  With the ILO.  You can map your local cd through the ILO on a drive on the local ESX host.  This will make your local client drive, walk of the esx.  With one side mounted ESX host, in the settings of your virtual machine, you can edit the cd and this time, instead of customer, you can select the host device.

  • HPPavilionN5412l notebook optical drive replacement, where to find one, and HPManual

eBay is going to be your only choice at this point.

The service manual is no longer available here. You can see on the ' net for the XH series, N5000 series and the Omnibook XE3 series, all are essentially the same machine. In my view, there is a screw on the bottom which can be removed to slide the optical drive.

  • Satellite Pro L20 - DVD optical drive replacement

I'm looking for some advice, thanks, regards access to disc DVD/CD on my Pro L20.

My current car has passed away, but I was hoping (temporarily) replace it with my old car Saturday 1130.
Before even I can check to see if compatible, I have a problem in removing the existing carpet * a unit... UJ841S there are 2 screws likely below, but I think I'll also remove first the keyboard.

I'm embarrassed about the lifting of the (?) metal strip that runs along the top of the keyboard... of clues on how to do it?

And am I correct in having to delete the "Board of Directors?
    Thanks in advance...

Yes, you will need to remove the keyboard, because under the keyboard, you will find a screw that holds the CD/DVD drive.
First, then remove the thin plastic above the F1 - F12 buttons and remove the 2 screws securing the keyboard.

Then you could lift the keyboard carefully (don't forget the keyboard cable flat that connect the keyboard to the motherboard)
Then remove the two screws holding the optical disk drive.

Then turn the computer, remove the two screws (at the bottom of the unit) fixing the ODD.
Then pull on the STRANGE carefully.

This description should help you to remove the disc.

But if you don t have enough experience; Don t this and ask the technician for help!

  • Qosmio G10-100 - optical drive replacement and IDE01

I just replaced my optical DVD drive on my Toshiba Qosmio G10-100 with a product number Optiarc AD7543A drive but I get an IDE01 error message at first upward.

Initially, the optical DVD drive worked later Toshiba does not recognize the drive. All solutions?

The solution is the use of optical discs compatible. Error IDE is the best proof, you try to use non compatible drive. Compatible dimensions appear in the manuals of the user to page 10-14 s.

  • Satellite 5200-902: the optical drive replacement

    Hello

I'm trying to replace my Panasonic uj-810 multiple disks with a new Panasonic uj-845 a. The problem is that it does not start with the inserted disc. If the disc is inserted with windows running, nothing happens until I go and refresh Device Manager. Then the computer, it crashes with kernel blue screen error that sort of thing...

If the disc is inserted while Windows starts, the system crashes without warning... I should also mention that there is nothing wrong with the drive itself, because it works without a hitch on other computers, in that I have tried.
Some help would be appreciated please

    Hello Vano

The problem is that each player is not compatible with all units due to the assignment of pins. If your new disk is not compatible, it may be that your device falls down at the beginning while windows try to detect all available hardware components.

I believe you that the drive is ok but as I said is probably caused by compatibility.

    Good bye

  • HP Envy 14 (beats): more great disc into optical drive replacement

I am trying to upgrade my HP Envy 14 after moving for Win7 to 10.

I still like the phone, but the start time, which I found was a bit slow, and I need more storage than the 750G that I currently have.

I changed the HD to a SSD, which set the start time, 500G and intend to remove the DVD drive and replace it with a HD in a caddy.

Previous forums show that it is possible to transfer the original disc to this place (currently 750G).

    The questions are -:

Is that you can use a disc more?. What is the maximum? A bios upgrade would affect the possibilities?

Thank you. It's the ifo that I needed.

    Hello Maggie,

Thanks for posting your question on the Microsoft community.

where can I buy original hp spare parts in bangladesh?

Use uefi HP PC Hardware Diagnostics utility to test the optical drive. My HP Omen 15 product ready to version 5.7.2.0 installed. You should maybe download and update your version of HP PC Hardware Diagnostics to get one that will test the optical drive. www.hp.com/go/techcenter/PCDiags

Press the power button and then press the ESC key to access the boot menu. Now, press the F2 key to enter the diagnosis. Click the tests of components and then click on the optical drive. If the test shows the drive as failure you know it's time to replace it.

Do a web search on Google or Bing with "hp pavilion g6-2305tx optical drive replacement"as key words to find a seller online.

Yes you can. Here's the part you have to do with. Just remove the optical drive, add a hard disk in one of these adapters and replace it for the optical drive:

    https://www.jacobsparts.com/items/HDDBAY-02/

You may also need to swap the façade of the old optical disc to make the installation of good look.

I wouldn't use this for one SSD. An SSD belonged to the main disk space to enjoy the speed. The drive into the optical drive adapter will not be bootable and it will be not given quite as fast as the main hard drive transfer speeds. So if you have a drive in this card, a big (1 TB) and slow (5400 RPM) drive would be preferable. It will be purely for storage and it is still fast enough to see the video of for example but if you are doing video editing I would try not to edit videos from the optical drive Bay. Move them to the fastest reader first.

  • Would it not possible to replace my optical drive in my series Vaio E with a SSD

I have an Vaio E series SVE14A27CXH. I was wondering if it would be possible to remove my optical drive and replace it with a SSD then put Windows 8 on the SSD to speed up boot time.

    mutiger16,

It might be possible to replace the optical drive with an optical drive for SSD conversion kit, but I'm not sure that it starts from this Bay.  My estimate is that it can, but I can't guarantee it will work...
