  I just got the phone Blackberry storm 9550 unlocked, I bought this phone from verizon wireless, but I use another SIM card to travel around the world, the phone works fine, but I can not configure the e-mail account, system, I cannot set up the e-mail account.

  To use the exclusive services of BB (including the ability to Push email, BBM, etc), you must have an adequate data of your carrier plan. Carriers BIS (BlackBerry Internet Service) host for their BB users. In general, BIS is not available through generic data plans. Several ships make stop what is needed the Blackberry data plan. • BlackBerry Smartphones using missing synch for Blackberry Storm - does not contact sync etc.

  I intend as a result tomorrow when my Storm (could actually be a couple of days, but I promise you, as soon as POSSIBLE). However, on your Mac, in the address book application follow these steps if you do not.

  (1) (to select the map that you created yourself (highlighted)

  (2) in the map menu, select make this card my card

  Just because you created a card with your info is not enough.

  I checked a bit in this and apparently there are problems with the download link.  Try to download again the link now (on your Storm).  Apparently people had issues, but it seems to work now.  If this does not work, let me know and we can try a few other things.  And just in case, clear your cache browser or do a battery pull before installation to ensure that it's not going to a version cached (and so wrong) of the page.  Also, make sure that your browser ID is set to BlackBerry (and not Internet Explorer or Firefox).

• BlackBerry Smartphones Blackberry Media Manager NOT working for Blackberry storm (wont install on the computer)

  Hello 2 months ago, I got a Blackberry storm. Its a good phone, but I have a problem that would do much better. When I try to install the Office Manager, everything installs without count Roxio Media manager. It gives me an error and cancels the installation of Roxio and continues with the other stuff. I really want to transfer Photos and videos from my phone to my computer and vice versa. Please tell me what can I do to install the Media Manager to get the work of the unit. I do not have the installation CD, I downloaded it from the blackberry website. The English version WITH media manager and I even clicked Custom install and made sure that he had the intention to install it.

  My error is:

  Error 1402.Could cannot find the key:

  UNKNOWN/ComCtl3.CoolBar/CLSID

  Oh dear oh dear... it's never a good idea to try to do several things at the same time. Now we will never know who is truly causal... Here's what I propose...

  1. Untether
  2. With power ON, remove the hood back and remove the battery. Wait a minute, then replace the battery and cover. Power on and wait patiently through the long reboot - about 5 minutes.
  3. See if you can see all that through the device file Explorer
  4. Restart the PC
  5. Re-same and see if the discs are all properly visible through Windows

• BlackBerry Storm 9530 smartphones crashed or something when I tried to install the new OS

  I recently picked up a blackberry storm 9530, who has been sitting on the counter for about 5 months and decided that I wanted to use it. I got it all together upward through my carrier (Verizon) and it has been working perfectly for the last 2 weeks. However, today, I tried to update the software version of the device with the Blackberry Desktop Software and something happened. The update process was almost complete and he got in a process that says something like "Reconnecting to JVM" or something like that. Then another window pops up saying them was a mistake with the AppLoader or something and he said to disconnect and reconnect my device and then click Retry. I did about 3 times before I decided that it wasn't going to work and clicked on the Cancel button and abandoned the update. Now my phone won't turn properly. whenever I press the power button all the buttons on the bottom will be light and then the LED on top lights up red for a while, then the light turns off and the keys will blink again, and then the light, ect ect. Sometimes when I press the power button and leave it alone for a bit the flashing stops and the screen will remain black but the little loading symbol, but nothing will happen. At the moment he made the small thing of loading for about 30-40 minutes of solids and nothing happens. I read a few other posts and all the other problems seem to be resolved by the connection to the computer and fixing one way or another using the Blackberry Desktop Software, however when I plug my Berry in my computer it is not yet recognized as a device because it is busy to restart or what he does.   Newbie here again. I had the storm for about a week and get used to it. I have 2 questions.

  1. in the navigation and trying to open things like videos from Youtube or even images or files, it says I don't have the right media player or an older version. Why this new storm would not good programs and what can I do?

  2. my Office Manager told me news updates for the storm when they are available or what to get them? I already had to buy an app to give me 1 minute on the pages and texts alerts.

  Any advice on navigation and better downloads would be appreciated.

  Thnks I missed the. in the m.youtube. I tried it and it works perfect thank you. Yes my DM is defined for updates so I guess I don't hunt it down from my provider updates and assume that my device is refreshed when it is available.  There are of course many little "quirks" with this phone... had some problems with the gel, but found this to be due to applications running in the background... strange that the Red Quit button is not close the program.

  It's very disappointing that the new blackberry storm has no wi fi ability to connect up to your access point W private surf top DSL speed.  GPRS is simply too slow.

  To add to the above, you will need to override the methods "automatic" which will use the foregoing. Left alone, the "automatic" methods will offer only you OS packages sanctioned by the carrier for which your BB was built (under the VendorID on the device). But, you are not limited only to those... the easiest is, on a PC (you can not do on MAC):

  1) uninstall all the BB OS packages from your PC,

  (2) make sure you have the BB Desktop Software already installed

  (3) download and install to your PC, the BB OS package you want:

  • You need to dig through this portal to find carriers that support your model but also to compare their different OS packages that are available.

  (4) If this OS package comes from one carrier other carrier for which your BB was built, then remove, on your PC, all copies of the SELLER. XML... There will be at least one and maybe 2, and they will be located in the same way or to (it changes based on your version of Windows) these files:

  • C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Research In Motion\AppLoader
  • C:\Users\(your Windows username) \AppData\Roaming\Research In Motion\BlackBerry\Loader XML

  (5) run the Desktop software and connect your BB... the software should offer the operating system package you have installed on your PC. If, during the process, your BB votre BB a '507' error, simply unplug the power cord of the BB USB and reinsert it. do nothing else... This should allow the installation to continue.

  Do not forget to save.

  Note that if you had to make a special "tricks" for your BB to function initially get on your carrier (for example, your BB model no is not natively supported by your carrier system), then this process will wipe those out, and you have to make them once again after it's over. Before starting, so 100% certain that you know what these "things" have been and are able to do it again.

  If you are on a MAC, you are limited to only your sanctioned carriers OS packages... but can still use any level they currently have to sanction. See this procedure:

  I've just activated a storm BB via BES and the user is faced with this common problem

  Look smart dialing options in the phone dial screen > Menu > Options > smart dialing and see if all the settings are correct for the device and the geographic location of the user.

• Need help from blackBerry Smartphones to transfer Contacts from Blackberry 8800 for Blackberry Storm 9530

  I tried to use the Desktop Manager software supplied and had two phones connected via USB to my PC.

  I made sure to uncheck the transfer of everything except DATA, which was the only solution. I had no way to go just in a finer selection, like the ability to select only Contacts.

  The Desktop Manager has replaced during ALL my DATA on the storm, including the default mail server, etc..

  I was still able to make calls, but could not receive email or messages from BB because it crushed everything I had

  Can someone direct me as to how to properly use the Desktop Manager so I can just transfer my Contacts.

  Did you use the switch device Wizard in the BlackBerry Desktop Manager?

  Do... to make a complete backup of the 8800 using Desktop Manager > backup. Make a note of where on your PC that the backup is saved as well as the name.

  Now connect the new storm device to the USB port, open Desktop Manager again. Open the backup/restore > advanced.

  Find the backup file in the left pane (use file > open if it does not appear immediately). Located in the database of the address book on the left side and click on the right arrow in the middle to move data to the new device. Follow the prompts and complete the process.
