  I just updated my OS to Win7 Pro Win10 Pro.

  I have compressed upwards and attached to this ID SAS controller driver to the bottom of this answer...

  You need to install it manually.

  Download and uncompress the file in its folder.  Don't do anything with the files in the folder.

  Go to Device Manager and click on the SAS controller requiring driver.

  Click the driver tab.  Click on set to update driver.

  Select her browse my computer for driver software option and navigate to the driver folder, that you unzipped.

  Make sure that the include subfolders is selected and the driver should install.

  Restart the PC.

• Installation failed on SuperMicro H8DA3-2 (Controller SAS LSI 1068E)

  Try to get VMWare ESXi installed on a SuperMicro H8DA3-2 (http://www.supermicro.com/Aplus/motherboard/Opteron2000/MCP55/H8DA3-2.cfm). It uses the LSI 1068E SAS controller, which is considered to be supported in the guide to the i/o Compatibility Guide for ESX Server 3.5 and ESX Server 3i. However, I get the error "Cannot find a device to install to", just after the acceptance of the license.

  Try to manually load the mtp_scsi_2xx.0 module also fails.

  I tried with no RAID, all drives in a RAID0 configuration and two readers logics, (RAID1 and RAID0).

  The LSI firmware update provided by Supermicro put the controller in target/initiator mode which means basically no RAID.  I am not too happy that the RAID is not supported by VMware on this controller.  I wish they would put notes to this effect in the HCL.

  in any case, contact Supermicro support and they can get you the update of the Firmware of the LSI for TI mode which should then work.

  I have a PowerEdge R310 with a SAS 6/iR controller. I want to have a H700 controller on the server.

  Dell sent me a card H700 with what I suppose is the cache of 512 MB NVRAM memory attached. But they also sent me a battery.

  Yes, you will need the battery to use the cache.  Without cache, you will have wasted your money on the H700.

  The H700 will have to go to the x 8 PCIe slot on a tube of length 2.

  If you do not see the readers through the new H700, there will also need you a cable to go from the backplane to the controller (8087)... the documentation is not very clear, but it seems that there is a connector on the motherboard next to SAS 6/iR PCIe slot linking readers, who probably does not work if you are using the H700 , so it would need its own cable.
