Requisition AutoCreate IN. - default pool

When you find some PORs and then go to the automatic creation screen, someone knows how to do grouping displayed "Requisition" instead of "Grouping" as its default setting

I see a system profile option "PO: requisition Grouping Default", but guess this refers only to imports, as I have changed this setting to 'Request', but it still shows "grouping".

Is not a big problem because it can obviously be changed manually, but with the volume of POs create our buyers, it would be much easier if they did not have to do it every time

A help much appreciated

  • Movement of the members of the default pool

I have a band with a PS6210xs and a PS6210x. The x is in the default pool and the xs is in a different pool. Together, they hold more than 26 TB of data, so any member can contain data in itself. We have also a new 6210 x that I'm about to join. I'm hoping to join the new table for the group, but not all have the data move to it at first, so I have a few questions.

6210 x and 6210xs may be in the same pool (putting aside the question of space for a moment)? The hybrid to run raid 6 fast forward and the other just races raid 6.

If they can do in a pool, there's a downside in terms of performance for this?

Back to the question of space, and before reach us the new table, is it possible to move the 6210 x of the pool by default to other basins, if the Member of the other pool doesn't have enough free space in itself?

If I can't do this, it is possible to join the new table for the group, but move to a brand new swimming pool until it begins to automatically get the data from the other Member of the default pool?

    Thank you.

    Hello

Because they have two members are not in the same pool, I would leave as-is.   You can have up to four pools in a group.

When you add a member to a group, it has no RAID assigned level.  And so it has no space to provide for the group.  He is assigned to the default group, but you can create a new pool and it will install everything first.   Then set the RAID type.  In addition, you can delay making the space available for the group as an option to create time.  That would give you time to move the Member to a new pool.

If I pin an object in the shared pool, the whole object (all blocks) is in the buffer pool.

but you say depending on the query plan,

Oracle will place only parts of objects in the cache of the buffers at any time.

    Example:

    > To pin a table

    SQL > alter table emp storage (USER_TABLES) keep;

This table with 1 million record and it contains "n" columns.

Consider that I need o/p of columns name, emp_id, salary only.

    i.e. which receive salaries over $ 8000.

    ----------------------

Oracle will show required o/p. According to your explanation, I can't guess...

Question: How oracle will place only parts of objects in the buffer instead of the object in its entirety?

    -------------------------------

    Please explain a little more.

Oracle uses blocks.  The lines are in blocks.  When you request a column in a row, Oracle must get the block.  When you ask a couple of columns from several lines, Oracle must obtain several blocks.  Oracle makes copies of blocks.  Oracle must manage maybe a lot of people to access the rows in the same or different blocks.  Everyone must have the block appear as if it did at the start of the transaction.

Oracle has several ways to get the blocks.  It can look in the SGA, if appropriate is not it be read from the disk, or it may decide to read the many blocks both a disc, or it could even decide to read just as much as he can in PGA a user, maybe also will cancel in any of these ways to make a consistent copy of reading for the user.

So when you look at the statistics for a session, you might see gets sequential or gets scattered.  The first is often the index access, then a single block is obtained from anywhere and placed in the SGA.  The latter is often the analysis, and the blocks are scattered, they don't necessarily have to be obtained in order.  Remember, an Oracle block can be a number of operating system blocks and a multi [-oracle]-read block can be a lot of data.

So with all these blocks to enter the LMS, it must decide what remains and what is happening.  It uses an algorithm (LRU) least recently used to eject blocks and can read blocks in the middle or the end of the list, according to.  This is why the default buffer pool works so well, whatever it is continuously available in the grand scheme of things will stay warm and stay there.  SGA was much smaller, it's much easier to have things isn't everything in fact so hot get ejected and written, only to be read in a short time after, for the pools of spare would allow these places to be kept, or recycled, as arbitrarily defined.

So do blocks like the passage of objects in the SGA.  There are usually several copies of the blocks.

  • Is there a default resource pool?

All - I read the white paper on esxtop that was written by Scott Drummond and can be found here - & gt; http://communities.VMware.com/docs/doc-9279 In this one, page 9, under the definition of 'State', he said:

While the state memory of the host is not used to determine if the memory should be retrieved from virtual machines (which
decision is made at the level of the resource pool), it may affect what mechanisms are used to retrieve the memory if necessary.
In the States high and soft, ballooning is favored over permutation. In States hard and low, swapping is favored by report
    balloon flight

So my question is, what happens if I do not defined resource pools?  Is there a default pool?  If not, are there any rehabilitation of the memory available for my guests/guests?

  • Logical layout of Equallogic storage with new members pools

In each of our server rooms, we currently have 2 Equallogic storage pools:

    K 7-1 GB (2 X 6100F)

We just bought an additional PS6100E and a PS6100XS for each server room.

Existing 6100F bays that we include 3 TB drives, and a new includes 4 TB drives. These berries is usually not much force exerted on them and are mostly used to map network shares or backups / replicas. Can anyone see a problem with the addition of the 4 TB 6100F s to this group?

I was counting on the deployment of the 6100XS in its own pool, as the advice I read do not mix with other types of table.

I am struggling to remember now, but you can specify a different to join pool a new Member of the group or do you always go in the default pool first?

If it always goes to the default pool first, is there a way to change a new pool to become the default pool?

    Thank you

    Hello

The 6100F can certainly be in the same group / pool without problem.  Data are distributed to members according to their relative sizes.  If a two pool members, where is 2 x else will have 2/3 of the data relative to the smallest Member.

When you add a new Member is going to the default pool.  However, with a defined RAID policy it does not provide a capacity to this pool.   So after adding in the group, I suggest you then turn on the Ethernet ports, move it to the new pool, and then assign the RAID policy.

  • EqualLogic volume refusing to move storage pools

I have (2) PS6000 arrays in a group.  A table represents my default storage pool.  The second table, I just added and created a new pool (maint).  My default pool is RAID 5.  My pool maint is RAID 6.  I am trying to move a volume of my default pool to my pool of maint.  Everything seems normal, but the volume makes never any advanced towards the end of the move.  The GUI indicates that the volume is in motion and watch the current status but the percent complete is zero.  I am able to cancel the move and everything goes back to normal.  I can try then move again, but the results are the same.

My default pool has 1.41 TB of free space and 3.05 to reserved volumes.  My pool Maint 11.34 TB of free space.

My default pool table has only an IO module.  My pool table now has two modules e/s.

My pool table now shows 1 error on packages on one of the interfaces.  I don't know how to clear it.

I am unable to find errors that indicate why the volume will not move.

In addition, the default table is running firmware 5.2.6, Maint table running 6.0.7.

Ideas, any help would be greatly appreciated.

    UPDATE!

It seems that it was caused by the firmware versions do not match.  Once I have updated the firmware on the default pool table, I was able to move the volume between the pools.

Re: cancel the mapping.  Some points to remember.  Cancel the MAPPING does not work on the replicated volumes, it's either sync replication or point-in-time standard.   Also according to the file system, it will not immediately reclaim the unused space on existing volumes.   Some file systems like VMware VMFS does not cancel the map on the fly, but offer a CLI utility to create large balloon files then delete and send him UNMAP commands simultaneously.

The basic rule is that you must have enough space to move the member selected out of the pool.   If this isn't the case, then the operation will not be allowed.  You may end up having to add the new Member to the pool until you can move a table.

Note: If you do not already done, then the site of Equallogic, with FW downloads is a document that describes how to set the value of disktimeout for several OS.   This allows the host (or the guest virtual machines) to cross the short breakdown during a firmware update or a failover of controllers due to a failure of the CM.

  • How can I order the printers in a printing pool?

I have 2 computers and 2 printers EPSON identicall and I want to create a pool of printing on each computer to achieve the following:

Computer 1 prints on the printer 1 and uses only the printer 2 as a backup in case the printer 1 fails.

Computer 2 prints on the printer 2 and uses only the printer 1 as a backup in case the printer 2 fails.

But I don't find a way to set one of the ports like the port by default, from now on, both computers print on the printer 1 and 2 printer is never used.

I read on some forums that Windows uses first the first printer that has been added to the pool, so I tried to add the printer port 2 first, but the computer still print to the port of the printer 1.

I also read theat that ports are sorted alphabetically, so I tried to name the printer 2 port A port and printer port 1 port B but the insisits on the computer on port B printing.

Is it possible to explicitly define a port in a default pool?

The description of TechNet says that "the logical printer checks for an available port and sends the documents to the ports in the order that they are added", but if your experience does result in that, I don't think that there is nothing else, you can do it.

The description of a constant of printer pooling, it's that you should have all printers in the same place 'because users will not know which printer in the pool prints a given document."  This, suggest me at least, you cannot specify a printer "favorite" or "default".

  • Maintenance storage pool - table member F/W update

    Hi team,

I have a two members (PS-300E) iSCSI san with a default Pool spanning the two tables (8.7 to altogether). I need to update the firmware of each table without interruption of service.

There are two volumes. Vol1 (total size: 4 TB, used: 2.7 Tb) and Vol2 (total size: 1.2 to, used: 1.1 Tb)

    • Total used space so = 3.8 to
    • Total handset space flight = 5.2 Tb

Can I just create another pool (name pool maintenance and configure size little below the unique = 4.2 to table size), then move the volumes inside? -allowing me to restart another Bay.

It will fail if the combined total volume (CT 5.2) is larger than the size of pool maintenance (4.2 to), or you can migrate the two volumes to the new pool if there is enough free space in the volume. (3.8 to "used" is smaller than 4.2 to)

    Hope it makes sense

    TIA

A member of the Group may be in a pool at a time.  Create a pool without a member of the Group has no allocated storage until a member is added to the pool.  Volumes cannot be assigned to a pool in the pool, there is storage space.

3.3.1 firmware version is very old and update you will need to bring the FW to a step version.  In your case, you will need to do several FW updates (restart the table between the two) to the current version.

On the support site, you can display the required path of FW update to get the latest version (it's in the guide of the firmware update).

    You need something like:

    v3.x to v4.0.x

    then v4.0 to v4.1

    then the v4.1 to v4.3

    then v4.3 to v5.0

    then v5.0 to v5.2

    then v5.2 to v6.x

A reboot is required between each update.  To first the two tables the same version, and then upgrade to the next version.

Judging by the number of updates that you need, I suggest that support you a quick call so that they can go over the steps in more detail with you.

  • PS6210xs and PS6210x in the same pool?

Hello. We have a hybrid of PS6210XS and two models of PS6210X in a group. They are all current firmware 8.1.4, and they are all in separate categories. The XS is running accelerated RAID6 and X models are running RAID6. Together, these models will all play in a pool despite the correct raid accelerated/no levels accelerated,?

In addition, members use about 30 TB out of the 58 available to, but it is not evenly distributed. I know that I can not remove the default pool, but I want to put everything in one of the other pools. If I can move the Member Pool2 in Pool1 (and it doesn't look as if I had enough space in Pool1 to do), then, I can move the default pool member in Pool1 and leave default empty, correct?

ETA: And remove Pool2 after this member is moved in Pool1, before moving the default pool member.

    Thank you.

    Hello

First of all, you don't have to remove all of the pools.  You can always merge pools.  The change will happen immediately, but it will take time to balance the pages between members.

I'm always careful about the fusion hybrid with other non-hybrid.  Sometimes, the hybrid is much smaller than the other members.  Especially in the case where the drives are NL - SAS.  Which tends to mitigate the benefits of the hybrid, being much more data on the NL - SAS members.

I would like to look at SANHQ to see what the charges are of different members.

If you decide to merge the members, I would like to start by merging the X models.  If you select a pool, there is an option "merge pools".  Then, you must select the Member that you want to add tot this pool.

You can also open a support case and ask for help.  They can examine the data SANHQ and table diagnostics.

Fusion of members is quite easy, it breaks the new, which can be more difficult.

  • Low dependency to start between CARS and VIP instance when using Server Pools

The CCR, an Instance of database on a node requires a VIP to also run on this node, otherwise, the Instance does not start. This is known in the administration Guide RAC 11 GR 2 as a dependency of good start.

However, I believe now that server pools and bases managed policy introduced in 11 GR 2, there is now start low dependence means that the RAC Instance on one node can start even if the VIP is not started on the same node.

Q1. Is this because the VIP may be running on another node in the server for the VIP Pool?

Q2. So the VIP could be assigned to a Pool which has different nodes that the Server Pool assigned to the RAC database - is - right?

Q3. I guess that's not say that the Instance of FCAC does not have a VIP before starting, what he said, so that the VIP for this Instance may not necessarily be running on the same node as this Instance?

Trying to get my head around that! As in the past, that the only reason why a VIP would not not be running on the node for, would be if the node has failed and the VIP was inherited by another node. In this case there are 2 VIP on the same node, supported by the same Instance.

Q4. Now that we seem to be saying that is a VIP and the associated Instance could be on separate nodes - is that correct?

    any advice greatly appreciated,

    Hi Jim,.

This is a pretty good example of server pools:

An Introduction to RAC 11.2 server pools & #8211; All things Oracle

It is designed as a feature for clusters really big cars, that you divide into pools. And for each pool, you name the amount of servers, you want to have and the candidate. The clusterware chooses server on which to run your instances.

Yet, even in this case, you should have 1 VIP and 1 listener node by node rac. Saw 2 VIP on a node is only failover and a node without a VIP can support a listener running on the VIP. If the case in your Q3 will not happen even in a server pool.

You can play arround with resources as it moves to the CCR on a test system with:

  • Migration from old to new SAN SAN

Hello. I was hoping someone could point me to a white paper or a procedure for Dell because I don't think that this is a rare situation.

I have a PS6500 I need moved to a new PS6210. I use VMware with three hosts and I need the whole kit and the shebang to the new San. All procedures out there so I'm not reconstruct the pieces of suggestions of online?

    Thanks in advance,

    Hello

There is no procedure formal whitepaper that it pulled out of the basic features of the PS Series table.  The ability to add/remove members to a live band.

The 6500 will need to be updated at least 7.1.x firmware before trying to add in the 6210.  The 6210 is likely to 8.x firmware.  If so, you must upgrade the 6500 to 8.1.14.

You'll want to create a temporary pool for the 6210.  I.e. "maint".   When you add in the 6210, it will be in the default pool.  Before you set the RAID policy, move the 6210 in the pool "maint".  When you select the Member, it invites you to configure the RAID, select No.  The menu in the middle of the screen will be "move Member".   Select, then you will see the pool "maint" you have created.  What to choose.  Now the 6210 is assigned to this pool.   Configure the other network interface, and then select the desired Member RAID policy.  Leave the RAID to finish the construction.   If you have not already set it to update the 6210 at least 8.1.14 now would be a good time to do so.  In addition, the latest version of the software is 9.0.

If at this point you have two choices.  You can create volumes on the 6210 Member, format it with VMFS and use storage vMotion to migrate the virtual machines.   Alternatively, you can merge two pools together.  In the graphical interface under "Storage Pools", there is an option "merge pools".   Select the pool "maint" and when you select Merge pools, it will show the available pools to move it to.    The move will appear in the moment.  However, in the background, the space is balanced on to the 6210.  According to the amount of space in use, to move it could take some time.

So if you have taken the first choice, once you have all the data passing above, you can remove this member.  Select the 6500, right of the mouse and select 'Remove member' ' this table will be reset to the factory and removed from the group settings.

If you have merged the pools, once the space is balanced, you will create a new pool.  'temp' for example.  The select the 6500, right 'move the Member' of the mouse and select the pool "temp".   This will push the remaining data on 6500 the 6210.   Once the move is completed, use the option 'Remove member' to remove.

Question: The 6210 is able 10GbE, you're going to be running to 10GbE?

When you connect as grpadmin, you are in a group CLI program.  This is not the same thing you are trying to execute commands via SSH.  Orders are not passed IN the CLI program.

If you want to run commands, download the Scripting Host tools since EQL support site.  You select the Firmware version that you are running.  You can use the current version of the same family.  That is, if you run 7.1.0 you can select Package 7.1.x version.  You can find a link for the Scripting Host for Linux and Windows tools.   These have all the files you need to use PERL or Python to script on the chart commands.  There are examples of included scripts.  I prefer PYTHON PERL for how its text handling and better support for SSH.  PERL seems to do better through TELNET which I do not use.
