Resize the internal SSD flash drive

I recently updated my original internal 750Go disc drive for a new card SanDisk Ultra II 960 GB SSD. Before installing, I cloned the original of this new SSD drive. After installation, I realized there was an amount unallocated free space (209,91 GB) I have involuntary partitioned. I tried to resize the disk several times through various tutorials and searches on google with no luck. Can anyone help?

Data sheet:

2011 Macbook Pro 17 "

OSX 10.11 El captain

This is what happens when I try to resize via Internet Recovery Mode & Disk Utility:

1. what software of cloning has been used?

2 Please after the release of the following OS X Terminal commands?

sudo TPG - vv - r see the/dev/disk0

3. If possible, plug your old drive via a speaker and after the output of the same command. You'll need to find the value of N in the following command using the diskutil list command output.

sudo TPG - vv - r see the/dev/diskN

  • Prevent adding an extra internal SSD flash drive

    Hey guys,.

I'm here for a bit of advice!

I have an SSD in my Macbook Pro 2012. This is badass for a laptop, with 16 GB of Ram and read/write speeds crazy. However, I'm exhausted over space and want to RAID the * on the Mac. (Replacing the DVD/CD drive).

Currently installed SSD - M500 Crucial 960 GB

Looking for 2 SSD - Samsung 840 Evo or Evo 1 to 850

    Detailed statistics:2379vsm1436D http://ssd.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Crucial-M500-960GB-vs-Samsung-840-Evo-1TB/m

Now it is allowed? 2 different makes with different write speeds?

Thanks for any help or advice!

It is always better to match in size and speed SSD if you plan to run the RAID.

  • Error - cannot install to root - CC want to put cc aps internal SSD flash disk

Error - cannot install to root - CC want to put cc aps internal SSD flash disk. (I know LR5 go on Mac OS disk...)

But what about the rest of the aps?

Thanks for the note Jeff... Finally, I have determined that you must create an Applications folder on the SSD drive. (Of course) Make sure that your installation in the CC office location points to the SSD...

    then all is good...

LR5 (according to Adobe) MUST be present on your OS drive...  Thanks again!

  • Bootcamp only gives me the option to install the secondary internal SSD flash disk. Mac Pro mid-2010

I have a Mac Pro (mid 2010) and spin El Capitan (10.11.5). I have an SSD that I boot OSX of. I have a 4 TB harddrive that store data on. And I just installed a Virgin SSD (same type as my drive OSX) I want to install Windows 8 on. When you run Bootcamp, it only gives me the option to install Windows on my hard drive of 4 TB. He's going right to the start screen of the screen asking me how large, I would like to partition. No SSD is given as an option. The new SSD is shown in disk utility and in the Finder. I tried to format it in FAT, ExFAT, and OS X Extended, but it is not yet appear in bootcamp. I also tried to boot from the installation DVD, but nothing seemed to happen. What should I do?

If the SSD (s) is not connected directly to the MacPro SATA connectors, you will have problems. Of your SSD are supported on a SATA connection?

  • Toshiba Kira - Win 8.1 cannot see all files on the 64 GB flash drive

    Hi all

Newbie on this forum. I just bought the i5 8 GB of RAM Windows 8.1 Kira Ultrabook, a great little machine.

I have a SanDisk 64 GB flash drive that has about 20 GB on it in a dozen files. These folders and the content can be seen by my Windows 7 PC, even my mobile phone and Tablet Tower.

However, the Kira cannot see both files, even if in the properties of the drive, he sees the space correctly. Turned on all folders and no difference.
My wife has a 32 GB flash - no problem.

I reformatted the flash disk, run a virus on the disk and the Kira. The Kira can someone verify the maximum size flash can see it please? I can't find it in any documentation.

Any help or suggestions appreciated - I ran support Toshiba without a response, so maybe someone here can help you.

The appearance of the folder is not in your laptop model or your system!

I recommend you to check some common view windows Explorer settings:

    (1) to see the hidden files and folders reported as
Click the view tab, and then click Show hidden files and folders.

    (2) to display all the system files that are usually hidden from view.
Click on the view tab, and then clear the Hide protected operating system files check box.

Here you will find all the information about the folder views and behavior

  • Satellite L50 - A-1 DG - with the new SSD HARD drive replacement

    Satellite L50 - A - 1 DG

I would put my SSD in the PC and install win7 on it. But it does not work.

I try to put the SSD into the DVD rom adapter. It can not been recognized in the bios.

I tried to replace the SSD hard drive. Then the pc cannot start up. And I can't get into the bios or adjustment.

    Someone knows what's the problem?

    > I try to put the SSD into the DVD rom adapter. It can not been recognized in the bios.

This does not work with all models of laptops.
As far as I know that the laptop must support Slim Select Bay and the BIOS should also support this hardware option. But in your case, it doesn t.

One possible solution is the use of SOLID-STATE drive instead of the HARD disk.

You said that you are not able to access the BIOS after these updates.
Well, before you do this (a SSD drive connection) you should access the BIOS and must disable secure boot and must set the start mode MSC mode.

    The comments appreciated.

  • WRITEBACK FAILED WITH THE NEW USB FLASH DRIVE/PEN

I installed XP (SP3).  I recently bought a 8 GB (sandisk cruzer) flash drive and when I try and copy files on this drive, the process hangs after you copy a file and then after about a minute gives the following error message:

"Cannot copy IMG_111: cannot find the file specified. '. Make sure you specify the correct path and name of the file. »

Then, I get the following error message:

"WINDOWS DELAYED WRITE FAILED.  Windows was unable to save all the data for the file H:. The data has been lost. This error can be caused by a failure of your computer hardware or network connection. Please try and save this file elsewhere. »

However, I have 2 other USB more former flash drives, a 512 MB which is 9 years old and a 256 MB a few years that work perfectly.

I tried 2 other 4 GB flash drives last year - which did not work on my system, and gave the same mistakes. On this occasion, I sent the disks back thinking they were defective instead of a problem with my PC.

All this seems to coincide with the installation of SP3.

After talking to Sandisk, they suggested that I need to get updated drivers.

However I dodnt know if this is the solution and if so where can I find the?

    Help!

Please let know how you solved your problem.

    Hope this helps, Gerry Cornell

  • What is the minimum size Flash DRIVE bootable installation of Sierra?

When you make a bootable installation of Sierra, what is the minimum size of USB that is required?

    8 or 16GBs.

Installers for OS X Mavericks to Sierra bootable USB

First, review this introductory article: creating a Setup program bootable OS X Mavericks or Yosemite - Apple Support. Second, see this diagram how to create an El Capitan bootable Installer. Just replace the Terminal command with that of the previous article by copying it in the Terminal window.

You will need a 8 GB or more flash disk USB that has been partitioned and formatted for use with OS X.

    Drive partition and format

    1. Open utility disk from the Applications\utilitaires folder.
    2. After disk utility charges select the drive (entrance Out-bumpy with of the mfgr.) ID and size) in the list to one side.
    3. Click clear in the utility disc toolbar. Name of the player, "MyVolume". <-IMPORTANT!
    4. In the Group dropdown set the GUID partition scheme. Define the type of Format Mac OS extended (journaled).
    5. Click apply and wait for the done button to activate it. When it click on it.
    6. Quit disk utility.

    Create the installation program

Open the Terminal in the Utilities folder. Choose according to the command line appropriate (in red) on the OS X installer you want. Paste this entire command line by underneath at the Terminal prompt:

    Order for macOS Sierra:

    sudo/Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia--volume/Volumes/MyV--applicationpath/Applications/Install\ macOS\ Sierra.app

    Order for El Capitan:

    sudo/Applications/Install\ OS\ El\ Capitan.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia--volume/Volumes/MyVolume--applicationpath/Applications/Install\ OS\ El\ Capitan.app X\ X\

    Order for Yosemite:

    sudo/Applications/Install\ OS\ Yosemite.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia--volume/Volumes/MyVolume--applicationpath/Applications/Install\ OS\ Yosemite.app X\ X\

    Control of Mavericks:

    sudo/Applications/Install\ OS\ Mavericks.app/Contents/Resources/createinstallmedia--volume/Volumes/MyVolume--applicationpath/Applications/Install\ OS\ Mavericks.app X\ X\

Press RETURN. You will be asked your admin password. It won't echo on the Terminal window. Press RETURN again. Wait for the prompt to the Terminal, meaning that the process is complete. It takes a while to complete. Be patient.
