Resizing imported photos - why

When I import images, in that they are automatically reduced size image, it is to say I only see about 50% of the image which is useless. They show also reduced when I produce a dvd disc. What am I doing wrong please.

I thank Mr. Hunt you for your answer, now everything seems to be OK, but I'll keep your complete check list incase it happens again, your time is much appreciated.

  • Unable to import photos, why?

Suddenly unable to import photos into LR on my mac. SanDisk of MDGS and Canon 5 d. RAW and JPG. I can see the thumbnails and fortunately, they are important in 'Photos '. I deleted the videos of the cards, but this made no difference. LR is up-to-date. The cards have been formatted. Very frustrating! This must be a problem of LR as everything else works fine.

Oh! I think that this is the solution! Weird, but I have not changed anything. I think it's the destination folder that is at fault.

  • LR5: time offset when importing photos - why?

Import my pictures from the camera with storage in folders by date. Now, I've discovered that photos taken before midnight are stored in the folder for the next day.

After a review, I found that the time displayed when you move the pictures in the import dialog are always displayed with an offset of + 2:00 for the real time (such as described in the camera) when the photo was taken. So all photos taken after 22:00 are stored in the folder for the next day.

My conclusion is that LR obviously takes the offset from the UTC time zone (in my case: THIS summer, which is UTC + 2) when importing photos. I remember having that first saw on travel in New Zealand last year when import photos on my PC that I had put to the local time zone on a trip, so this shift was 12 hours.

When viewing the photos later in the module library or development, the time is displayed correctly, so obviously drawn "like what" EXIF/XMP.

Is this a known issue? I could not find a place in the LR settings to control this behavior.

It is a very old bug, which has never been set. The simple solution is to import from a card reader, not a camera directly connected. The insect bites only during the import of the camera.

Image capture metadata must be perfectly OK, so no need to change anything here, it is only the name of the folder that is affected by the bug.

  • Imported Photos images do not show in Safari or iMovie unless you close the Photos and the other App - WHY?

I used to be able to import photos into iPhoto and use them immediately in iMovie and Safari, but since one of the improvements (Yosemite or whenever replacement iPhoto Photos), if I import photos into Photos and you want to use in Safari or iMovie, I have to close the two Photos and Safari or iMovie (depending on what I want to use it in) and then restart the application (Safari or iMovie) I want to use it in.  I can't find a view-> Refresh or anything like that to make the synchronization of two.  Closing the two works like a charm, but it's a huge pain in the *.  Is there a way to get around this?  Thought Apple was smarter than this.

    Hey,.

I don't know why I feel always stupid when you work with Mac, it is supposed to be so simple! So I tried to import my photos from my iphone to my macbook. AirDrop does not work, I tried everything and apparently this is a problem common on macbooks. So I tried with icloud that does not work either. I imported the photos to icloud, but on my mac I don't have access to them. then I tried to connect two Bluetooth devices, but they do not match. What else I can try or I'm really too stupid to understand these programs?

  • Deleting photos on an iPhone 6 after importing Photos

I used 6 (iOS 9.2.1) photos to import photos from my iPhone but can't seem to delete them from my phone because I'm running out of space. I can't find an option in Photos for me to do. I use iCloud library but tired of receiving messages telling me I am out of space and need to buy more. I was using the iPhone Optimize Storage option, so when I try to turn off iCloud, he tells me I'm losing photos. I guess that it space to store all of the photos uploaded to iCloud original is much more than the space I have left on my phone. So why would I back up my photos to a photo library. Yes, I could go through frame by frame making sure that they are all there, but there are more than 2500 and would prefer to delete automatically the picures copied after importation. Make sense?

Import Photos Panel has a check "Remove items after importing" below the toolbar. If you enable this, before importing items, they will be automatically deleted.

You don't see this check box, because you have activated on your iPhone photo library iCloud.  As long as you use iCloud photo library, the Mac cannot delete the photos, because they are stored in iCloud and only mirrored on your iPhone.

"Remove items after importation" is to risk anyway. I would not use this option. First, it is safer to check if the import was successful before deleting the photos from the iPhone.  Sometimes it happens that photos will be removed from the device, even if the import was not successful.

So why would I back up my photos to a photo library. Yes, I could go through frame by frame making sure that they are all there, but there are more than 2500 and would prefer to delete automatically the picures copied after importation. Make sense?

Since all the pictures are in the library of iCloud, download them by creating a new library of Photos on your Mac and enable it in your library to iCloud.  It will download all photos in iCloud.

You are you sure, that all the photos are safely on your Mac, disable iCloud photo library on your iPhone.  Then you can connect the iPhone to a USB port and use Image Capture to remove all the photos from the iPhone.

You can also download pictures from iCloud by using the web interface of your iCloud to www.icloud.com account.  Launch the Photos.app on this page and select the photos to download.

I use a USB cable to connect to the computer and never had a problem until now.  I have tried everything I can think to see why this is happening and I don't see a reason.

    Hello

    1. don't you make changes to the computer until the problem occurred?

I suggest you follow the steps mentioned below.

Method 1: Restore the default import settings

Visit the link below to learn how to restore the default import settings.

Method 2: Test of the issue on a new user account

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/create-a-user-account

    Method 3:
The problem can also be caused by your security such as anti-virus program or a firewall of Windows /Defender that can have conflicting parameters as to not not to perform certain tasks. I suggest you temporary disable antivirus and firewall and check the result again. You must activate new security that you was disabled programs.
    Disable the antivirus software:
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

Important note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

  • imported photos to come with the exhibition changed

When I imported some of my pictures from the camera card, they come in very light.  That exposure is increased.  The same CR2 file opened in the PS is clearly darker.  Light photos are very grainy, clearly to have increased to high exposure.  Is there a setting that I have to fix import?  Why is this happening?

You could accidentally apply a preset import, or maybe Lightroom default values have been changed. When you look at the photo in the develop Module, are the exposure slider and other sliders to zero?

  • import photos from desktop

Hi, I'm new to Lightroom. I used it only a handful of times. I recently imported some photos to a folder on my MAC laptop without problem. As I did it is by following this simple procedure... Open lightroom (or course) make sure Library tab is open, go to FILE IMPORT PHOTO, select the Source - Desktop folder with image inside. Click on IMPORT. Then open the mode develop and start to edit. Now that seemed easy enough, however, after that I finished working on a few photos and saved the new folder on my desktop, I then closed out of Lightroom, and then decided that there was another photo I wanted to bring in Lightroom and it works. That's where I got problems. When I reopened it Lightroom again once he opened right to the library again with the original photos, that I have worked with before and no way, no how could I find a way to start over using the above way to import a new picture. I tried for 2 hours. I'm embarrassed to say. I went in and out of lightroom repeatedly, I rebooted my laptop several times and for every and overtime, he took back me to the same area of the library. Also with different DIY, I could find all the different folders on my desk with my photos, but absolutely nothing happened when I clicked on one of them. I don't know why, this program must be if difficult just import a picture in it. Very frustrated at this point. Can someone help me by giving detailed advice on how to solve this problem. I have manuals, watched videos and none of them were able to help me because the program opens in a different way than this info describes. I've only used the program 5 - 6 times and it is a first time that happens. Thanking the group in advance for any help you can offer.

  • After the update recent import photos disappearednction. Just white where the photos were. Where can I find them?

After the update new import photos disappeared during the «two processes» service Just white Windows where the photos were. Where can I find them?

Got a solution - not ideal because I don't always know what's going on or why...

So - I just encountered the same problem on my first import since the update.  I have a default to apply the average contrast curve to import.

Fast/temp fix: in library view, select all the pictures, and then change the preset saved 'default' or 'zero '. or to expand the view, select the same default or reset.  Then change back to the average contrast curve... Might work for any option that you select, but that's what I used.
