  I have a problem with my filter, the exponential weighted moving average filter (IIR 1 st order.). Excerpt from the book: understand the digital signal processing (Richard Lyons) I have the following formula, calculate the frequency of 3dB (CF) of alpha. Alpha is the parameter to control the filter.

  Differential equation of the filter: y [n] = x [n] * alpha + (1 - alpha) * y [n-1]

  Relationship between CF and alpha: alpha = cos(2fc/fs) - 1 + sqrt [cos²(2fc/fs) - 4 * cos(2fc/fs) + 3]

  If I now choose a frequency of 3 dB from 0, 0794Hz (time constant (TC) = 2 s) alpha = 0,00169621. (fs = 94)

  For a filter command 1st IIR, the rise time (your) of the stepresponse (from 10% to 90%) is: ta = 2, 2 * TC which translates your = 4, 4S.

  But if I simulate the step response, my rise time is about 3 times this value at 14.

  I can't explain why the response of my filter is so much different. For my Moving Average filter, the calculated and simulated rise time are equal.

  I have the vi that is performed on the attached FPGA. Maybe someone can find a mistake...

  Thank you very much for your detailed answer.

  Regarding the issue with the rise time, I think I've found the error. You might be right, that the formula is not correct, or which is most probably misunderstood by me and put in the wrong context.

  When I was cycling home from work I remembered a practical function of labview: 'coefficients.vi filter smoothing' here you only need to define tau/TC and fs and it calculates the numerator and the denominator for the moving average exponential and the moving average. Offering it is alpha I could compare the result of the formula I've used and there was a big difference. LabVIEW uses the following formula: alpha = 1 - exp (-1 /(fs*TC)). With this formula, TC = 2 s is equal to alpha = 0, 0053.

  And with this alpha my simulation works! Risetime 4.4 s

  Now, back to the rounded questions. I understand that the small values are a more serious problem. This filter is used in a Lock In, the values are going to be REALLY small. But I've already tested on our measuring device and it works, to that effect, I'll test your version as well, but if I get no problems, I guess I keep to the 40bits. Simulating the following configuration, caused an error of 2.3%. 57 bits using reduced the error less than 1%. I think that 40bits should be sufficient.

  And regarding resources, I have no worries. Although using a myrio ultimately I still have a lot of DSP Slices for the multiplication and 10% in flip flops.

  Do you get the login screen before the black screen?    You never even get to the desktop?

  Try this fix.  You will need an XP installation CD.  If you don't have that it is OK to borrow one.  Try to get the same version of XP as your example Home/Pro/Media

  Configure your PC to boot from the CD if it is not already configured in this way. You may need to enter the BIOS to configure the PC to boot from the CD.

  Set the boot order of

  Floppy (if present)

  CDROM

  Hard drive

  RECORDING and EXIT

  Start your PC with the XP installation CD in the drive. When you see the prompt «Press any key to boot from CD...» ", do and start the process to boot on CD.

  When the Recovery Console option is available ("press R to start the Recovery Console"), do it. You may be asked to what Windows installation to enter, what kind of cases the number of the Windows installation you want to work (usually ' 1').

  When you are prompted, enter the password for the Windows installation. If you have not set up a password just press ENTER

  1. I don't think the source is available for these examples, but as far as I know, the SR block is the only thing missing.

  2. the SR block is not a built-in function, but I threw something together real fast that should explain it.  It also shows how to load a Workflow file to a numeric data type.

  3. There is only one waveform in memory of the 6555, including the data of the stimulus and response.

• Windows Vista stuck at 67% in stage 3 to restart after standalone install service pack 1

  I installed the stand-alone version of service pack for Vista on an AMD System powered with Asus motherboard running Windows Vista 32 bit home edition Basic.  The service worked well and seemed well until you restart. It has reached stage 3 and stopped at 67% and no response. I have run the system for 12 hours before running a forced reboot. I have restarted from the Vista DVD and have tried system restore and automatic repair. All have brought me back to the same place. I also tried to boot into safe mode with the same result. I am able to read the disc from a command prompt, and made a chkdk as well.

  You can try to rename or remove pending.xml from the startup folder on Windows Vista disk and check.

  a. Insert the installation disc.

  b. restart your computer.

  c. click on the Start button, click the arrow next to the button lock and then click on restart. If you are prompted, press any key to start Windows from the installation disc.

  Note: If your computer is not configured to start from a CD or a DVD, see the documentation provided with your computer. You may need to change your computer's BIOS settings.

  d. choose your language settings, and then click Next.

  e. in the System Recovery Options menu, click command prompt

  f. at a command prompt, type the following command and press ENTER

  g. type cd C:\windows\winsxs, and then press ENTER.

  h. type ren pending.xml pending.old, and then press ENTER.

  Restart the computer and check.

• AppCloud Action Service - Wrong Contacts are not forwarded to configured stage

  We are currently developing an application of the Action and have a problem when an error occurs on the stage of notify. We expect the contacts to the configured path (automatically route contacts with errors of cloud App.) where our server returns 500 (see attached image named 'Path').

  
  

  But this doesn't seem to work properly, and contacts are crossing just to the next step on the canvas of the campaign even if the server returns a 500 instead of through the configuration step. Eloqua retries not 5 times, but contacts to flow to the next during the first call, regardless of endpoint Notify response.  This means that lots that raise an error on the stage of the notification will not be processed and that we have no way of their reprocessing. Is this a bug in Eloqua?

  I received a response from the support team - Eloqua

  When the notification LED is set to 'Complete' in the application configuration, Eloqua does not reply back wait and simply move the contacts (even if the answer is a level 400 or 500 error).  The status must be marked 'Active' to have more control and error, we can set back to "Errored" State, Eloqua can send to the configured step, if in place.

  To implement this, you need to create an import def and reminder in Eloqua using their API block to set the status accordingly.

  Maybe you need to rephrase your question a bit because it doesn't have much sense.

  I created a new group that has two values 'Y', ' don't. While displaying the column in the default response to put all the values at the end, event, I tried to do the sort will sort fair value Y and N, but not all. I don't see any options to sort the new group in stages of selection. Any ideas.

  Historically this 10ms used to give because it was in the stage of typical disk latency (seek time and rotational latency).

  Some of the most recent published articles tend to use numbers closer to 5 or 6 ms for exactly the same reason. It's a gray area, however, try to choose a number because there a lot of without devices now have caches of large disks that can shorten the time dramatically, and (b) If you begin planning the theory of queues you then increase the time.  That is why v$ event_histogram ( event histograms |) Oracle scratchpad ) is a such nice feature of 10 g - for things like db file sequential bed it allows you to see inputs and outputs which actually came from something like a file system or SAN cache and then the distribution of the moment for the e/s which really necessary disk visits - and in a reasonably busy on modern disks system you probably hope that the latter would show you a model centered round 10-12ms with a tail up to about 30 Ms.

  To Captivate 7, please go to the Quizzing workspace. You will have the properties and properties Quiz Panel visible. I will now repeat the workflow, I explained briefly for CP7:

  • Check the partial score in the Quiz properties and also multiple responses.
  • Indicate the correct answers on the stage
  • Select the first correct answer on the stage text caption and indicate its score (10pts) in the properties panel, not in the Quiz properties!
  • Repeat the same for each correct answer
  • Check the total score in the properties of the Quiz Panel: should now be 60pts to the full question.

  None of the quiz system variables can be changed, they are read-only. System variables in Captivate 6 - Captivate blog explains the system variables for 6 categories, there are a few changes in 7: new features of Captivate 7.01 - Captivate blog but the Quiz category is always read-only.

  Looks like the responsibility that you are trying to load point to an INV_1 menu which is not present in the destination instance.

  Please make sure that you load the newly created menus first and then try to load the responsibility.

• motion presets, the size of the stage and default values - help?

  I put a predefined query (zoom in 3D) on the movie symbol instance. It worked great - it zooms well, and the body remained at the center of the stage for the entire animation, which is what I wanted.

  I realized that I needed to change the size of the stage, for reasons that I won't go into. I've converted the measure from the scene of the pixels in inches and resizes.

  Of course, all my graphics and authorities were now out of the Center. Realign and resizing of everything, I discovered that my instance with the preset of the motion had gone down is more centered on the stage. Now, he moves diagonally right down to the right of the scene when played. In fact, now whenever I use this particular preset on anything whatsoever, in this file, and again those, the same thing happens. It's as if the preset was changed permanently on my computer and go back to the default value.

  I tried to change the path image by image, but it makes a mess. I tried using the Subselection tool to change the path, but it is imprecise and does not work well.

  Does anyone have words of wisdom for me?

  Either way, I loaded that particular file on another laptop here at work who also has Flash Pro. Until I opened my file on this new computer, this predefined query worked well. Now that I opened this file in the new computer, this preset is messed up, even when I start a new file.

  I am really confused and frustrated; I'd be very happy any idea that anyone could offer me.

  Thanks for your response! I finally realized that I was wrong. Obviously, the preselections of movement (or less than for the zoom in 3D) are only designed to work with the default stage size. I had changed my stage size, so the screened numbers were all off. But that's okay - I used it as a template to create my own, and it came out great.

• SWF file plays in response to correct or incorrect quiz or text box

  Hello - I'm trying to figure out how to get different swf files to play when the learner receives the corresponding response either good or bad on a quiz question. I couldn't understand that, Yes, so I just create text boxes where if they fill in the correct answer, a cheek, bad swf, then another time. Advanced only actions work very well... can't find out how to delete (and I see in the forum doesn't seem to really, you can clear the boxes to try again), and also if I answer right, then fill in bad, I always get 'success' swf play. Work first time through case I either get their right, or not. Any suggestions? Ideally, I would like to just return the corresponding quiz question, how can I get the swf files to play with incorrect results / fix?

  First of all, I found a bug, the response shown for first ETB was not one mentioned in the tip action. Then I started re-labelling of all associated variables (v_direct, v_impers, v_build, v_intim). Sorry, it is not a bug with the consequences, you do not need to validate at all, since the advanced actions takes care of it.

  I do have several suggestions, first of all I would like to know what you prefer. Haven't checked everything again.

  You need to reset if you want to offer several attempts. The easiest way is to have a second "Reset" button with the visible actions in the screenshot; they will be re - assign an empty variable (v_Null) to the user variables and hide animations. The problem is that this change to the user variables are not passed on stage, so the user still see his previous entries, but can change and resubmit. However, we must change all the entries. This is the only way to repopulate the variables, and I think it's a problem. The appropriate animation will play, checked. Is this an acceptable solution? If this is not the case, will have to change many things about the timeline, I may have to jump to other images etc.

  Given that you use the 'contains': a user can also enter all the letters (abcd) and the condition will be successful? Just a warning, perhaps use the operator "is equal to".

  The sequence does not seem logical (the cursor is downstairs TEB), change the order of the stack in the timeline panel to fix that.

  The TextArea widget extended (created by Jim Leichliter, is free) allows you to really clear the entries on the stage during reset; It's a second opportunity, which avoids having to indicate to the user that they need to change all entries.

  Another idea: have you checked the dropdown or combobox widgets? My third part of custom questions on the blog will still be on these custom widgets questions but is not ready. But have to check the option "reset" so, fear it will be the same as that of the check boxes, radio buttons and textarea widgets: no way to reset unless I can convince Jim still to extend these widgets as well.

• How to create a form field for a paragraph response?

  I'm using Acrobat 8 Pro and I have created a form with a field that requires a somewhat longer answer, as perhaps a paragraph or two.  I tried to change the Options include the checkboxes for "Multiline" and 'Scroll long text', but still only a single line of text is visible in the field when the form is printed.  How can I make the entire visible response?

  Make sure that the field has the value of Multiline. If this is the case, something is wrong, and I delete the field and create a new.

  If the behavior persists with a new field, I would be very interested in looking at an example that illustrates this. Try to do a repair of Acrobat (help > fix the Installation of Acrobat) at this stage.

• Several video clips on stage and layers - play and pause all (via the buttons)

  I've been designing a Visual presentation in Flash CS5, there are a few video clips on the stage who are set to play a certain amount of time. The problem I have is that I'm not familiar with coding/actions. I want to have a play and a pause button to pause at any time (not a given) and speak with the public. Then, I want to be able to click on the play button to resume from there (wherever I stopped of). I hope get help and be able to learn from your responses. I don't know how clear my question is, but I can clarify if you need me for...
