You can perform a second series just in case. I read the previous posts on the forums where the original manufacturers recovery disks do not work properly.

Another thing that I would recommend you do is to create a disk image and restore system that lets you easily restore your system in case of system failure, such as the hard disk crash, malicious code, or upgrade to a larger hard drive.

  • Restoration of disks for HP M7250N Media Center XP

I have a HP Media Center Desk Top System Mod # M - 7250N who has Win XP Media Center 32 bit single core cpu Intel 2.8 and 4 GB of ram installed. I bought the computer new from Best Buy a few years ago. I had a breakdown of complete hard drive a few weeks ago. I'm looking for my restore disks but could not locate them. I contacted HP support and was advised that he would convey restore disks to me when they become available. It is some time now with no response and I don't think that I will get no help on that date. My wife uses the system of family history research and I was after her forever to save things, but that was not done.

    Hi, Terry:

You probably know more to get the HP recovery discs I do since you called them and they said they would send them when back in stock.

The problem with that is that they're probably never coming back back in stock.

However, this place has a set of $27 + shipping costs.

    http://www.computersurgeons.com/ProductDetails.aspx?ID=2696

.. and Yes, your PC can run Windows 7 well. I checked the specifications and all the hardware is windows 7 capable.

Alternatively, you can check for yourself by running the free W7 Upgrade Advisor from Microsoft. All your other stuff connected and turned on like printers, scanners, etc.

The program will scan and report his ability to work on W7.

Here is the link to this tool.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/downloads/Upgrade-Advisor

However, from the cost point of view, it would be cheaper for you to order a set of recovery disks.

    Kind regards

  • Satellite Pro M30: Is it possible to restore the disk Win XP at least

I recorded the M30 Pro of the Satellite with Win XP Professional 5 years on the Toshiba-Europe website.
Is it possible to restore the disk Win XP at least?

I'll ask Toshiba for assistance (already done) or there is a way to create the disks on mine?

I'm sure someone went down this way (ar tried at least).

PS: it is a time for the upgrade of the HARD drive.

    Thank you all.
    Wall

Sorry, but I don't really know what you are meaning by the Win XP disk restore.

The Toshiba laptop was delivered with the Toshiba Recovery CD.
If you want to restore the OS from Windows XP that is installed on the HARD drive, then use this disk and reinstall the WinXP.
To start the installation, you must boot from the recovery CD.

If you want to create a clean image and then install Win XP with a CD of MS Windows, download the Toshiba driver and create the image using the tool like Norton Ghost third 3rd for example.

Please GUYS I NEED YOUR URGENT help BECAUSE I want TO SAVE FIRST MY drive HARD BEFORE I'll install new applications or before so I will use it.

    Thank you good guys...

    Hello

Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator is a tool of Toshiba that created the recovery disk available on HARD drive recovery image.
It s NOT support tool like Ghost, etc. that allows you to create an image of your operating system preinstalled.
If the Toshiba Recovery files are not available on the HARD drive then the Toshiba Recovery Disc Creator will not work!

Someone know where I can find a disk for an older MacBook utility? It seems that Apple can't MacBook since 2007.

If you were able to call Apple support (after-sales applecare or apple?) and ask if they

can know if you can still buy replacement system installation DVD of restoration for your MacBook

they could tell you if it is possible if they have your serial number, to look further into it.

    • How to identify MacBook - Apple Support models

    • Find the serial number of your Apple - Apple Support product

Depending on where you are, some support Apple or Apple Care facilities cannot

be able to comply with a demand for vintage and filtering software obsolete spare.

Some models introduced in 2007 started with 10.4 Tiger (with the version of the Intel-based OS)

and went as far as Lion 10.7.5 as their higher upgrade system. All systems prior to 10.7

usually included a system restore DVD media kit, gray-label of this Mac-specific disks.

If you bought the computer in 2007, it may have been a year of construction 2006 model, in order to

be able to identify the computer model exactly, the discovery of a boot of replacement keys is

DVD that can also be used to prepare the computer for a replacement of the HDD, etc.. The

utility disc on the DVD installation-restoration is an important tool; so is the installation disc & software.

A detail of (if any) the system drive on the computer, if those who took on DVD

would be a bootable disk utility version in the installation program. The DVD of grey original label

media can be found in resale, are used or old stock, published initially with a Mac, new.

Places online like Amazon may be able to provide the specific software package if you knew

exactly the part numbers your computer had when new on these original discs.

Serial number of Mac news - your Apple series number search:

    https://www.PowerBookMedic.com/identify-Mac-serial.php

If you identify a number before contacting Apple computers on-line software resellers

You may be able to narrow down. In addition, if identify the computer exactly, there may be some

This time DVD media (exact details, new or used; original gray-replacement of labels, used.)

And finally, if the computer running Snow Leopard 10.6.8 and he is older than the date of this

OS X system, you could buy a DVD of Snow Leopard 10.6.3 retail on Apple Store online, to get

    http://www.Apple.com/shop/product/MC573Z/A/Mac-OS-x-106-Snow-Leopard

the installation program which has a utility disk in the package. You start from the DVD to use these

utilities include in the installation program. It can also erase everything. If the computer shipped with the

last supported OS X installed 10.7, who no doubt had a key task to install USB, not a restore DVD.

Later computers have their built-in OS X Recovery, a partition on the hard drive which has the OS X

Utilities and a way to go online for the software of system recovery and restore without media disks.

Nothing is as simple as it sounds. the first thing is to correctly identify the computer; If you call

Apple (depending on where you are in the world), results may vary. their after-sales service or Apple

Nobody care may be able to help or tell you that they cannot, on the basis of the serial number.

    In any case...

    Good luck & happy computing!

How can I find and open/search the 32 GB of data that fills the disk for possible deletion?

    Thank you.

    Download and run JDiskReport.

There are a number of things you can do to- temporarily - free up disk space.  The only real solution, however, is to get a larger hard drive.

    • You can run Disk Cleanup (start > run > cleanmgr > OK)
    • You can reduce the size allocated for the restoration of the system to about 1 GB (right click on desktop > properties > system restore > settings)
    • You can disable hibernation (if you don't use it) (right click on an empty spot on the desktop > properties > screen saver > power > Hibernate)
    • You can disable the indexing of the drive, which will also speed up your computer a bit (http://lifehacker.com/031440/turn-off-indexing-and-speed-up-windows-xp)
    • You can reduce the size of your Internet browser cache (depending on the browser that you use)
    • You can remove most of the $NTUninstallKBxxxxxx files $ following the directions here: http://windowsxp.mvps.org/Hotfix_backup.htm (read the warnings in the gray box first)

But none of these answers you will earn really large amounts of space for very long.  The term solution time is a bigger hard drive.

In the meantime, download and run JDiskReport, that will show you graphically what files take up more space and seem to so indicate what files to delete or uninstall applications.

  • System Restore Startup disk

Hello: I have a registry problem complicated that I can't get an answer to, and I would like to create a System Restore Startup disk. How can I do this? I am running windows xp (I think that sp3) on a lenovo thinkpad t61.

I can't open the *.exe files and think it's a registry problem. I tried several ways to solve this problem and have not been able to do.

    I'm running a lenovo thinkpad t61.

I am referring to the recovery disc.

You don't say what you tried, but EXE File Association Doug Knox fix usually does the trick: http://www.dougknox.com/xp/file_assoc.htm

It would be interesting to analyze both of these free applications:
    MalwareBytes Anti-Malware
    SUPERAntiSpyware

It would be wise to say away from generic 'system restore boot floppies', unless you are sure of what you are doing.  The Thinkpad T61 should have associated with the application of "Rescue and recovery" of Lenovo in a hidden hard drive partition.  See the Thinkpad T61 Service and troubleshooting guide, Chapter 4: http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/document.do?sitestyle=lenovo&lndocid=MIGR-67885.

Rather than provide a disk recovery or a Windows disc with your computer, Lenovo provides simpler methods to accomplish the tasks usually associated with these discs. The files and programs for these alternative methods are on your hard drive, which avoids having to find a misplaced drive and problems related to the use of an incorrect version of the disc.

The full backup of all files and programs that Lenovo preinstalled on your computer is located in a hidden protected area, or a partition of the hard drive. Although that hidden in the partition backups consume space hard disk. Therefore, during the audit of the capacity of the hard drive under Windows, you might note that the full capacity of the drive seems to be smaller than expected. This discrepancy is explained by the content of the hidden partition.

Since a few days, I have several errors in cluster on two hard disks for my HP Pavilion

Therefore, I have 2 new hard drives and a Win7 64 bit ready to install.

    Videocard: OK

    Realtek: probably managed by Win7

Transceiver Northstar Systems eHome infrared, Inc.

Thanks in advance for your support

    Hello

If your system still start then run this utility from Microsoft.    Microsoft Windows 7 Upgrade Advisor

Windows 7 64-bit should have all the drivers you need for the motherboard.  You must also install Windows 7 service pack 1.

I have the same motherboard in my PC and it is not a problem with Windows 7 64 bit.

Other devices that you mentioned will require that you go to the web site of the manufacturer and look for the drivers and support Windows 7 64.

Check your CD/DVD drive for a firmware update before you convert them to WIndows 7.

Check your PC for a bios update before you convert them to Windows 7.

  • Configuration of disk for CS4

    Hi all

Looking for some recommendations on the configuration of disk for CS4. Some QuickSpecs. XP Pro 64 bit, Intel i7 extreme, 12 GB of DDR3 RAM and 8 Velociraptor 300 GB disks.

I originally it was configured as a single array (RAID 5 with online backup) with two partitions (one for the OS and program files) and one for the storage and the file Page on the table and zero.  I wasn't getting very good performance so I decided to clean up and reconfigure.

I'd be better off with 2 tables? An array of 0(600 GB) RAID 2 disks for OS, Program Files and Scratch space. and the second table of 6 drives in RAID 5 (1.3 to) for storage?

Or maybe even go with a single hard drive for OS and Program Files (300 GB).  One drive for Scratch space (300 GB).  and then the 6 disks in RAID 5 for storage?

Also, where would be the best loacation for the pagefile?

Thanks in advance for the help

    Keep things simple:

    1. go to Win7-64

2 C disc for OS & programs, only Velociraptor

3 D for the swap file disk, and all the rest, 7 x Velociraptor in a raid5 configuration

You can add another drive to accept backups Time Machine... assuming it is correctly formatted for Mac to Mac OS extended (journaled), but things are not exactly "continue."

You have not indicated if you intend to add the player to the USB port on the Time Capsule, or connect directly to your computer using USB or FireWire connections. Or the other method works, with the option to connect directly to the computer being the faster connection.

Once the disc is added, you would go in Time Machine preferences (click the "clock" at the top of the screen on your Mac) to add the disk for Time Machine backups and delete the old Time Capsule disk, since backups will go is no longer this destination.

Since you have a new drive, Time Machine will do a new full backup of your Mac and then go forward with incremental backups.
