Restore CD failed

I installed unlicense WXP Pro replace my OS to Windows XP Home edition home page. I want to install my OS WXP Home back. I try to launch my product recovery CD but failed.

How have you tried to start the product recovery CD? What model of laptop you have and how you want to install the operating system exactly (on an existing partition or maybe to create a partition)?

  • System restore image fails - missing Bootmgr

    Recently bought more large hard drive to my PC at home - the system Windows 7 (from my old HD) image successfully created using native Windows 7 system image utility.

    When you try to load the image on my new HD, it seems to work fine, however start fails with "Bootmgr" is missing error.

    Have tried to use the restoration of utility system Windows 7 installation disc, but that does not solve the problem.

    THX in advance for any idea / help

    Hello

    Windows 7 creates a 'Active' partition (drive Q in general) that the system boots from. You got the fine image, but probably not the Q score he needs to boot from. This partition is usually 100 mb in size and the beginning of the disc.

    Here's what I would try first.

    1) boot from the Windows 7 DVD and install it. Don't bother entering your key.
    (2) when it is finished, apply your custom image on the new installation of Windows on the C partition as you did before. This should wipe the installation we just did and replace with your image. The boot partition will be set up and you should be good to go.

    I hope that this help... is not myself, but it should work fine. Mark <> Microsoft Partner

  • System Restore keeps failing

    I tried all day to do a system restore. No matter what date choose for a starting point, when the process is finished, a window opens and says "system restore failed and no changes to your computer." It drives me crazy! All I want to do is run a system restore that works. Can you help me please? Thank you.

    Hello

    If you have Norton Internet Security installed, you should first disable Norton Tamper Protection as described in step 2, on the link below.

    http://us.Norton.com/support/kb/web_view.jsp?wv_type=public_web&docURL=20091112171719EN&LN=en_US

    Once you are done, turn off the PC.  Windows system restore is usaully better run in Mode without failure.  Tap away at f8 that you start the PC to enter the Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select Safe mode and press ENTER.  When it has loaded, on the Start Menu, click principally made programs, accessories, click System Tools and run the system restore.  Choose a restore point, you want and then do the restore.  When you are finished, Windows will restart normally.

    Let me know if you still cannot deliver the issue to run correctly.

  • Clean install / restore to fail Internet

    I'll put up a 2010 MacBook Pro start as new for a next project. After erasing HD for a clean install, the installer returned a message that says El Capitan could not be verified or may have been corrupted. I resorted to the recovery of the internet, but this is also a message that El Capitan can not be installed due to an error. I don't have a backup time machine small enough to drive on the Mac - is it possible forward here?

    Thanks in advance...

    stop,

    Disconnect all external devices

    Reboot into recovery mode

    If the internal collection fails try internet recovery

    for best results, connect your mac directly to your router/modem and suspend any transmission from other devices on your network that can be download or steam.

  • Mini 101NR - restore to fail, error message "cannot find the file.

    While restoring my Mini 1010NR with 8 GB SSD from the disk of XP SP3 operating system, everything fine until partially through the recovery an error message saying that it cannot find the i386\ASMS file.

    I tried the options "install fresh copy" and "repair" and get this same error message in both directions.

    I formatted the SDS with both regular and quick NTFS file system. My OSD software gives me the possibility of formatting of the SDS with fat? I have not tried. That I should?

    I looked at the CD, and in the i386 subdirectory, I see a subdirectory called ASMS. I see several subdirectories in this directory.

    I am booting from an external CD/DVD drive. This seems correct, as the installed much restoration program file until stopping in the message saying that it couldn't find the file ASMS.

    This OSD provided with the computer when I bought it new at HP.

    Thank you

    Peter

    The cd is corrupted or damaged or installation loses communication with the CD-ROM drive. If you can, try another cdrom drive.

  • Restore the system to a Restore Point fails: System Restore was unable to extract the original copy of the restore point consoleDirectory.

    I can create restore points and when updates are installed the system automatically creates a restore point. The problem is that I can't get the system to restore to a restore of these these points.

    Hello John R H,

    Are you able to restore system successfully on a different date, or that you get the same result?  I looked through this thread and was curious to know why you want to perform a system restore?  Having other issues in addition to what you have described?

    Try to make a last good known Configuration and see if you are able to perform a system restore.

    Last good known Configuration:

  • Windows Backup and Restore always fails when you create a system image.

    When I run the Windows backup, it works fine until it gets to create a system image, it goes for about a minute then says "Done creating System Image" then the progress bar turns red. I've already defragged, virus research and checked to find errors on the disk external drive all come with nothing and no help.

    I found this suggestion but have no idea what that means or how to do

    Number 4: Error Code 0 x 80070003.

    If the reparse point is a mount point or a junction point to the root of another volume, you may experience the following issues when you try to restore the files under the reparse point:

    • You cannot restore to the original location if the reparse point directory is removed.

      To work around this problem, re-create the reparse point directory.

    • You cannot restore to another location if you click to select the box restore files in their original subfolders in the file restore wizard.

      To work around this problem, clear the check box restore files in their original subfolders when you run the wizard to restore the file.

    Do you think that would help and please tell me what to do, it's all so frustrating when you have no idea what the jargon means or where access things.

  • RMAN restore after failed upgrade

    Hi, I started level of 11.2 in 12.1 using DBUA and the upgrade went bad so need to restore back.

    Its a database of test and I had not expected the upgrade to go wrong (my bad!), so was not as careful as I should have been with pre-upgrade backup and took a backup to cold...

    The last backup I made was a hot rman back, including archived logs, control files and SPFILE.

    Before you begin the upgrade, I've disabled archive logging to save space.

    When you are restoring I started nomount and restored control files. Then mounted and restored database. Everything is good so far.

    Then I tried to recover and he didn't:

    "Cannot find archived log" which I was expecting little.

    I then tried recovery to a point in time, when all archive logs were there:

    run
    {

    until ' to_date ('2014 - 06 - 19:10:28:00 ',' yyyy-mm - dd:hh24:mi:ss');
    restore the database;
    recover the database; }

    There is also:

    "some found goals - abandonment of restoration."

    Is there anyway to get my data back or it is lost forever?

    Thanks for looking

  • restoration of Internet on iMac fails

    What I need to do on my iMac, it's doing a restore of the internet back to the original operating system for the iMac. I restarted with the command-option-R keys and got into the mode of restoration of the internet. It got to the point of giving me the choice of wifi networks and I have authenticated successfully to a wifi network. Then, after a few minutes, I was presented with graphic of circle with a line through it. Looks internet restoration had failed. Am I missing something? I have to prepare my Mac somehow in order for the restoration of the Internet at work?
