Restore the essbase.sec file to another server
Hi allI have restored several databases of our development server to another server.
But can I just copy file of security on this server?
My concern is that they have a different number of app/db, will be the work of security file?
If that does not work, how can I recover the security of a given database file?
Thank you in advance for your help!
Singlejoe,
You will have problems if you do not correspond to the app/dbs on your target server.
Assuming that your dev source server has several databases to the target, before copying, create a dummy apps/dbs on the target. Stop Essbase and save your Essbase.sec to be replaced. (Just-in-case copy to keep some security, filters, etc., you might have).
If you have more / different apps/dbs on your target, I would like to archive them (text backup is complete, copy all relevant artifacts, etc.) and then delete. Then follow the above paragraph. The point is to make the app/db files exactly the same at Essbase.sec.
Then copy on your Essbase.sec source to your target, remove the apps/dbs dummy and you should be good to go.
Kind regards

Hello
What is the procedure for recreating the file Essbase.sec in 11.1.2.0 Essbase environment... In older versions, it has been used to remove Essbase.sec, start the Essbase server and it has been recreated a file void essbase.sec... But in 11.1.2.0 with Shared services... is the procedure? If it is deleted from the file essbase.sec... start Essbase Service recreates and will update SSP Outlook2003?
Please someone help...
Thank you...Hi Alex,
Unfortunately, I have about 20 questions to ask in order to really be able to provide useful guidance, but at least I recommend checking out 'The Essbase security file management' section of the Essbase DBAG and eventually the Oracle Hyperion Enterprise Performance Management System Backup and Recovery Guide.

to restore the msvcrt40.dll file
to restore the msvcrt40.dll file
If the file has been deleted, you can either try to
(1) to perform a restore point system through the system restore feature
'or '.
(2) use a freeware call "recuva" and it will scan your drive for all deleted files are recoverable.
be said in passing, do not try to download this dll from any Web site in order to replace your missing one. If so, you will probably infect your system.

How to restore the menu bar (file-editing-display) PDF?
How to restore the menu bar (file-editing-display) PDF? I use version Adobe Acrobat 8.1.3. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!
KoljaI had a similar problem with Adobe Acrobat Pro X, where the menu bar would not appear. I was able to get menu bar to appear if I resized the document by placing the pointer on the right, left, top or bottom of the document (you see a double arrow), and then by clicking and dragging.
The problem was definitely solved for all documents by opening Adobe Acrobat without having to open a document. Then click on Edit in the menu bar. Then click on Preferences. In the preferences of the box click on full screen at the top left. Then find the section Navigation screen complete. Check the box show the Navigation bar. Finally click on OK at the bottom right.
I hope this helps someone and saves a lot of frustration.

I can script volume shadow copy service files to copy VSS files to another server?
Hello
Wanted to ask if it was possible to take the info created by VSS and move it to another server? The reason why I ask is that I need to information to a file on a backup server, copy it to another standby server and have it ready to go when the original bang goes machine!
While enjoying the fact than expected jobs work fine with the backup software and can copy the file backup due to another server as a :-) scheduled task I can't put automated restoration work to restore back this folder on a daily basis by using the backup of windows server or backup exec (very annoying!). I was wondering if I could create shadow copies of the file/volume concerned on the original server, and then have a script that has copied the files on the backup server?
Just in addition, the concerned files/folders are usually left "open" or "locked" (these include mdb files too!) so just using xcopy etc will not work :-(
Any ideas or suggestions would be welcome :-)
Thank you very much for your help
Kevin
I suggest that you take cela Server TechNet or TechNet IT Pro forums. This forum serves users with Windows home versions.

Restore the Oracle XE database to another machine
I have an Oracle XE server on a Windows XP computer, and I want to copy it to a Windows 7 computer.
On XP, I did a backup through the database "backup" interface graph user (BACKUP. (BAT). The Oracle backup created 3 new folders under C:\ORACLEXE\APP\ORACLE\FLASH_RECOVERY_AREA\XE\
ARCHIVELOG
AUTOBACKUP
BACKUPSET
I installed XE on the Windows 7 machine and it seems to work.
Then I had to face the 3 files to backup on a USB and put them in the folder structure on the new Windows 7 machine. I ran the restore from the GUI as administrator (RESTORATION. (BAT). Restore failed, and I can't understand why. I don't know what are the sequence numbers.
Now I can't get into Apex or Apex_Admin
Thanks for taking a peek at this.

ARCHIVELOG
AUTOBACKUP
BACKUPSETWindows services store the files in open ONLINELOG, so I had to shut down services and then work with the folder. That's why four files must be moved and copied onto the new machine:
ARCHIVELOG
AUTOBACKUP
BACKUPSET
ONLINELOGIf you are running as an administrator "Backup" of the GUI, it runs the BACKUP. BEATS, a batch file called RMAN. Once that is done, copy the four files to the same location on the target computer, and then run as administrator 'Restore' (RESTORATION. (BAT).
In another forum someone told to be sure that the 'archive logs' are copied. It should be interpreted to mean not only the folder 'ARCHIVELOG', but all four files.

Identify the elements of L1 backup and restore the last control file
DB version: 11.2
Platform: Solaris 11
We went to a database of development last month. But we kept backups rman Level0 and Level1 more archive logs generated after the last L1.
Our N0 and N1 were planned with an interval of 4 days.
The dev team now wants this DB restore in another machine. In a catalog schema, we did not keep the rman metadata. All we have is the backup pieces.
I don't know which of the backup are those who is from L0 and L1. If I managed to restore the last file to control the last backup of L1, then things will be easy. What happens if I am wrong to restore the old file of control of L0, which has no info on any new datafiles/tempfiles that I added after than L0.stcdev_p4lor85q_1_1.bkp stcdev_yls3gkjl_3_7.bkp stcdev_mhfr8293_5_4.bkp stcdev_ipxsr8293_5_4.bkp . . .
You guys, how such situations? After you restore the controlfile, simply ALTER DATABASE MOUNT, and delivers then a BACKUP of the LIST. The list will show you what knows the controlfile-if it shows the L0 and L1 of backups, you can use it. If it shows only the L0 backup, try to restore the 'other' controlfile.
If you can see the timestamps of the backuppieces, which could help identify who's the backup "later."Hemant K Collette

Access to multimedia files from another server problem
Currently I am working in a project with streaming video on-demand and using FMS 4.5 .
" Say the FMS is installed on a machine say ' 121.123.35.34 ' and there is another server"100.54.88.222". where all media files belong Now we need point to this third-party server to play videos of FMS. I did the changes below:
In the fms.ini file: set VOD_DIR2 = \\100.54.88.222\myvideos
In the application.xml: added stream: streams >/HR; ${VOD_DIR2} < / flow >
My request for access to the path of the flv as: source = "rtmp: / / 121.123.35.34:1935/vod/hr/test. Not able to access the video.
Note: If I say "C:hrvideos" in VOD_DIR2, then I'm able to access videos using the same URL.
I also tried mapping the path shared the machine to the FMS and then saw the drive mapped path in the VOD_DIR2, but it does not work.
Please let me know:
- If we set up any other parameter videos from another server.
- VOD_COMMON_DIR: I modified this similar to VOD_DIR in the directory "C:hrvideos", I am able to stream videos with http, rtmp, but not the jet of abl eto.
Please let me know we can disseminate via http too as we need to run the f4m manifest file.

Hello
For RTMP: Try mapping to another server.
For HTTP: Yesy you can change the DocumentRoot directive, but then it will search for content in this folder for all types of applications and not just HDS VOD.
To configure only HDS - VOD, positioned on the HttpStreamingContentPath:
Change this HttpStreamingContentPath '... / webroot/vod " to HttpStreamingContentPath" C:/hrvideos "
Note that the location is now absolute and oblique. Likewise, you can put in a network address.
Thank you

KrishnaHI. You actually mingle a few questions. You cannot restore controlfile from this snapshot controlfile. Snapshot controlfile goal being the other. At the resynchronization with recovery catalog RMAN must snapshot controlfile. That means and this purpose. You can restore controlfile from automatic backup or backup (controlfile) compatible.

HP C3180 printer: restore the backed up files
Hello
With the help of Sunshyn2005, I recently realized a system recovery to restore the HP Solution Center I had
lost that has fortunately been successful, now I want to replace the backup files that have been put on a USB key.
Sunshyn2005 told me to put the files on my desktop, find the backup folder and open then open an exe file to restore.
My problem is I can not find this file to open and I have no idea of what we call the name of the file I'm looking for or where it could exist and I've done a search without success the only file I've met are theHP recovery Partition and this does not open upward to display this exe file that I need.
I have windows 8.1 which at the moment I am lost on where things are except 'This PC' and that did not help me.
I took the first step and copied the files on my desk if anyone can help me find this folder to restore these files and complete the task.

I have a desktop HP Pavilion P6540F under Windows 7 Home Premium. A few days ago there was a problem with windows that virtually wiped out my OS and I had to restore my computer to factory settings. Before restoring my computer I backed up all my files on a disk. After Reinstalling windows, I placed the drive with all my files recovery on it in my computer and running the recovery .exe file that has started downloading my files. All of this worked perfectly well but the problem is that these files only stored in a file on my desktop and has not been restored to its original location. Is it possible to get these files to restore to the correct locations on my computer without having to manually, drag the files to their old location? Honestly, I don't know where many of these files were located before the restoration and many items such as preferences for certain programs are impossible for me to move. Thanks for the help.
The backup that is used to recover only restores the files in a folder, leaving the owner to move. I agree, not the application of backup more useful, but better than nothing I guess.
