restore the Thunderbird addressbook from the clouds

I had to reformat the hard drive and when I restored the computer and downloaded the last Thunderbird for Windows 7 64 - bit of the address book was empty. In reading the various possible solutions on restoring the address book, they talk about the profile folder that I have no idea where to find. The instructions to find the profile folders do not match what my system displays. Instructions to directly go to the Tools menu or the Help menu and then clicking on an item in this menu however the item specified in the notice is not under the Tools menu or help.
Please can someone tell me how to find the profile folder and restore my Thunderbird AddressBook?

The profile is store work of Thunderbird to your messages and settings. Its location depends on the OS in use.

It would be useful to know what OS you are using (Windows? Mac? Others?) and then we could offer more precise helps find your way around the menus and find your profile.

https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/Profiles-TB
https://support.Mozilla.org/en-us/KB/display-Thunderbird-menus-and-toolbar

An important point on which the second section fails to mention, is that the new Menu button is not mentioned in secondary windows: write, address book, calendar. In these windows, you will need the old menu.

I don't know why, but the regular backup of Windows does not automatically include the folder where the Thunderbird profile is stored.

  • How can I restore Favorites after migration to the cloud?

This weekend, we migrated our computer system in the cloud. I was under the assumption that we were only migrate our email to the cloud.

However, when I got to the office yesterday, I have Firefox was longer on my computer and subsequently were my favorites.

I looked at a multitude of messages and what is seen on the fact that all is lost. I looked at the files on the C: drive and the only thing that is in these folders are what I did yesterday and today. Is it all the same to find my data from last Friday?

    Thank you
    Mike

"This weekend we migrated our computer system in the cloud."

What was the purpose of the 'us' who did this?
That allows you to save the user data for the purposes of upgrading a server or software on the server?
Each user backup up to their own data, or was this fact for all users massively by the COMPUTER service company?
Whatever it is, you have access to the saved data in the "cloud"?
If not you personally, IT department access to these data and restore?

Overall, my guess is that your Firefox data has not been saved then your user account on a shared central server has been deleted or "gone" due to a system upgrade. And then when the user accounts have been restored data Firefox wasn't there.
Shear speculation on my part, without much more information on what has been done.

  • help please. yesterday, my account Hotmail deleted all my emails and contacts on pc. now, all the contacts on iPhone 5s also disappeared. attempted to recover from the clouds, but it didn't work. Help?...

I lost all contacts and emails.

Have an iPhone 5s (new in December) using the latest operating system. Back to contacts with cloud, photos etc. have in desperation tried restore from the backup that I did in December but has not worked or the data is missing. I can't see the contents of the backup file, but it is one that I used when I changed service provider in December, it should be there.

I guess the problem is somehow related to my problems to Hotmail because it seems too much a coinsidence have the same problem on both

Advice on the possible reason of the restoration did not work and how to fix would be much appreciated

Recovering contacts from Hotmail is done by adding the account hotmail on iPhone.

FYI iCloud do not back up the information that are already synchronized, and your hotmail contacts are synchronized with the iCloud contacts and Hotmail servers (if you had them would be synchronized with the iCloud server).

To retrieve the contacts to iCloud you would go to icloud.com on the computer and go to settings after you open a session. In settings, you will find backups of your information is synchronized usually some contacts/calendars and other files, and you can choose the one you want to restore, but iCloud does not restore the hotmail contacts.

  • can application not available I restore the data from an encrypted backup?

I had to get my iPhone repaired, so I did a full backup to iTunes and reset Once it was fixed, I have restored the backup, but a few apps "could not be restored. In the case of the one that interests me, the app no longer seems to exist on the App Store - I found a link for it from a review of old, but the link is dead: the app no longer exists. Since it is an application that stores data on the heights of our children, and I had used it for a few years, I would like to be able to recover at least the RAW files of my support, even if the app no longer exists. It is not a large amount of data. The backup is encrypted, so none of the files have names that are meaningful, it is impossible to guess what file is associated with that particular application. Any suggestions?

If you have the app in the iTunes library on your computer you can restore it from there.

  • iTunes game not download songs from iTunes to the cloud

I've ripped from CD music and imported into iTunes (12.4.3.1) on my PC for Windows 10

Most of the songs were transferred to the cloud without problem, but an Album with two discs seems to be stuck downloading the second disc. One went through OK. There is also another song taken from a compilation disc, which seems stuck as well. The songs in question always have a small cloud dotted beside them.

Ripping the album two disc I was presented with a choice of Albums to correspond with the second disc and may have selected the wrong year. Strange that it happened not by tearing the first disc.

The only song took his info edited so that it is listed in his artist as it was the only song torn from this CD. This has not caused problems before.

I tried to click on the Library button musical iCloud, which showed the same spinning wheel and the drop down menu text "Corresponding to your music with songs in iTunes Store" to stop the process. then under file > library > update iCloud, music library, but he sticks with the wheel turning again.

How can I solve this problem and get all the songs to download correctly?

    Hello

I suggest that you try to remove the tracks and ripping them again.

If a problem yet, try to connect to your account iTunes, close iTunes. Then reopen iTunes, sign into iTunes and check the preferences for iCloud music is checked.

  • Restore the Contacts from Iphone restore

I'm very frustrated by that.  I had to do a total restore my Iphone 5 as a result of an error in the former area software and storage being gone.  I backup of the phone before doing this, but that the backup is worth nothing because to restore the previous backup would return to restore the bug in the software again.  So I basically had to a do a new restoration of the phone and gradually bring only my necessary stuff on the phone.  I can't seem to get the contacts and calendar, that I had to come back and I see on Itunes there is a place to synchronize those.  Still when I sync them they are not restored.  My contacts have some inside information, but lack of contacts.  Those who are there are missing phone # s and addresses e-mail.   I can see the calendar and contacts that they were originally on my Ipad so I know that they are at least there.  Are not the contacts and calendars supposed to migrate in Icloud and update all my Apple devices (I have a Mac Pro too) so that they are compatible?  If there are some parameters jiving not somewhere I'm lost as to what to do and what devices for all works in harmony.

My plan is to do a backup of my phone after I put everything so that I have a clean backup, that is not a bug in there and has all the correct information.

    Hello heffmonster,

Thanks for this info and choosing the communities Support from Apple. I know how important getting your contacts on your iPhone is to you! From what you said, it seems you maybe problems with having the correct accounts added to your iPhone after you restored, since you mentioned that the lack of contacts are on your iPad. You asked if iCloud syncs contacts, and he does, but only those in iCloud. iCloud will not synchronize contacts that are related to other accounts, such as Gmail, Yahoo, Hotmail, etc. I check what are the accounts on your iPad and make sure your iPhone has the same ones added correctly. This article can help explain more about the use of Contacts on your iPhone:

  • Recently updated to Firefox and it was "cool". I have the file to him and I was wondering how can I restore my old cookies from him.

Question/topic really has the details in there. I was wondering how I can restore the cookies.

When you reset Firefox and a new profile is created and some personal data (bookmarks, history, cookies, passwords, data form) are automatically imported and the current profile folder will be moved on the desktop to a folder "Old data Firefox".
Installed extensions and other customizations (toolbars, Pref.) that you have made are lost and must be redone.

You can copy the file cookies.sqlite "Old data Firefox" folder on the desktop to the current Firefox profile folder.
You can use this button to go to the Firefox profile folder currently in use:
