Restrict access to files

Hi all

I need to create 50 records and 50 users, where each user can see and have access to only a corresponding folder.

The version of Windows would be XP, 7, 8, or 10.

What is the best way to achieve this?

Thank you

Normally, if you created a user, it creates a folder for them directly and that they (or administrator) can access them.  If you can create basically just your user accounts, and the rest is automatic.

    Greg,

    Restrict access to files is possible see http://weblog.oraclecorp.com/weblog/team/Beehive/2010/03/using_acls_to_selectively_hide.html.

    However, the documents and Wiki pages can be hidden the ACL for the entities are not available to any client user.

    Hi Utkarsh.Ranjan,

    If you want to restrict access to a drive by using the Group Policy Editor, you can not apply for a particular user account. This will change for the user accounts.

    You can't restrict access to the complete transmission. However, you can resrtict access to folders and files inside a car to a particular user.

    Refer to the section "set, view, change, or remove special permissions for files and folders" in the following article and follow the steps to remove the authorization of the user access to the file/folder.
  • Windows 7 won't let me access the files (my documents, my downloads), but the programs work very well!

    Currently, I am running windows 7 Ultimate on my desktop I built. My computer starts up fine, no problem when I connect and I can run all my programs like itunes, security suite norton, chrome, Picasa and Microsoft word work completely fine. There is no problem to save things on Word view my photos on Picasa (which is on the C drive) or by playing songs on itunes (which means that I can access my hard drive through programs), but when I try to open the downloads folder, it shows a popup that says: "this operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator. "and does not open the file. The problem is that I AM the administrator account on the computer! However, when I open things in my libraries such as My Documents or my music, there just a blank page, saying that I have no files in this folder, but I have files in all of these files: photos, all my music itunes and documents.

    The interesting thing is that I can save documents to the word to My Documents and it will be displayed at the beginning, but when I close the My Documents window and reopen it, the file disappeared and the folder is 'empty' again.

    Currently. I have 2 hard drives connected, a seagate 1 TB and a supplement of 250 GB. Both of these drives appear in disk management, so that the computer knows and is able to see are how many gb on them. Apart from this recognition, when I open the start menu and press computer, it only shows my USB and my CD player, nor of my hard drives. I know that computers are connected correctly as they hum and dry as usual. I am very worried about what is, be it a virus, bad connection, settings that have been changed for any reason any.

    Please help me understand why Windows 7 won't let me access my files through programs, but not in Finder Windows, I have very important files on this computer that I can't lose!

    Windows 7 has a feature of self defense which is a pain.

    is it possible to prevent iTunes to change my hard drive? I just got a new iPhone 5 as a gift, and when I tried to put my music on the phone, I had problems, which culminated with iTunes in deciding to delete my collection of mp3 from my computer. She also somehow FUBARed a DVD - RW I had saved my collection on when I made the mistake of trying to copy them to the phone from the backup DVD (must have burned a DVD-R).

    Is it possible to limit the access of iTune hard disk read-only until I learn how to prevent FUBARing my music collection? Really, I hate having to get out of my backups. I am seriously thinking the iPhone back and get something less restictive does insist on managing my music for some reason any.

    I use Windows 7 Professional and even though I know how to restrict a user access to some files with NTFS permissions, not sure how limiting access for a PROGRAM.

    Hello

    All programs will not automatically modify or access the files, unless the program is asked to go to the location, you may have set some options in the iTunes software. Given that the Apple support would be better suited to help you with this problem. Refer to this link and ask the question

    Thank you for contacting Microsoft Community.

    Usually, the security restrictions may involved all subfolders too. Therefore, when you implement security access, make sure that select the box apply to all subfolders and files. This will change all files and subfolders in a folder.

  • Restrict access to esxi welcome / getting started page possible?

    In my reading, I was not able to find an answer, so I thought that it is better to ask the collective.  Is it possible to restrict access to the page began to welcome esxi / obtaining (page you get to by typing the address of the esxi server in your browser)?  ID like it if an ordinary user cannot even see this page.

    Thank you

    In ESX, it was easy to make (http://vmetc.com/2008/10/15/modify-virtualcenter-and-esx-web-interface-to-prevent-vi-client-downloads/) but do not have access to the root file system (in ESXi) you won't be able to take this path.

    That said, you should really look at restricting access to the ESXi hosts themselves by isolating them with VLAN, then only authorized systems can access. You can see the Security Hardening Best Practices Guide for advice on securing your installation.

    Delete and re this coding, even copy the code from the first to the second had little effect.
    I deleted the file and repeat the procedure and the correct code has been entered and worked perfectly. It seems strange that in seemingly identical circumstances, CS3 should produce a different code.

    Someone else had this problem?

    It seems that you have selected the wrong type of page - ASP-javascript rather
    that VBScript-ASP.

  • restrict access to the php page problems

    I'm trying to use the dreamweaver php restrict access server behavior and will have success on both my local maching and my own host. However, the same script does not work on the server of a customer hosted by Verio on a Windows shared hosting plan.

    index.php = login page
    Login.php = forwarding connection failed
    client.php = page with a script to restrict access.

    If I remove the script of restricted access, I was able to connect fine and see page client.php. However, if I understand the access restricted in the client.php script, I get kicked to the login.php page. I only check the username and password, not the user level.

    Here is a brief overview of the two assemblies

    localhost:
    MacBook pro running apache
    PHP 5.2.0, mysql 5.0.22
    register_globals = Off

    Client server:
    Host = verio
    Windows shared hosting plan
    PHP 5.2.0, mysql 5.0.24a
    register_globals = Off

    Session settings are the same as the file phpinfo.php (with the exception of the local value of the session.save_path to the verio server)

    I can return the value of the username (and pass) using the {print $_SESSION ['MM_Username'] ;} on client.php page when I comment on the script to access restricted on the client files.}

    I wonder if there is a php setting that is causing the problem?

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

    Kind regards

    Mike

    According to media, the current windows has limited hosting plan supports for php scripts.
