Hello

What you can do with Vista is directly related to the features built into your recovery by
the manufacturer of the system so its best to check with them and their forums. It is also important for
You laptop and need drivers and specific OEM configurations.

Also check with the manufacturer of information system for upgrading to Windows 7 laptop because it
probably also requires a compatible BIOS and drivers on their part. They had Windows 7
information and updated drivers on their website.

Also check their forums, as appropriate, others will have tried to upgrade to Windows 7 and or tried
a dual boot and probably can offer good advice.

I hope this helps.

  • Loading Vista on a new hard drive

I would like to re - install Windows Vista on a new hard drive on a laptop HP Pavilion DV6000 of portable entertainment is since 2007.  Now, the laptop came with Vista pre-installed.  The laptop came with a system recovery disk.  My question is: this disk contains Windows Vista I need to load new hard disk?

    GaryRob

Yes assuming that the new hard disk is at least as large as the former, system recovery disk is exactly what you need to restore the PC as long as you plant. Simply tap on F9 you turn on with the disc in the drive and select the DVD as a source of start-up and follow on-screen prompts. You'll need to do a lot of updates, but you will have a working computer.

  • Reinstalling Vista on a new hard drive in a Dell XPS420

I have been using my Dell XPS 420 for years, but lately the C: drive (with Windows Vista Home Premium and the recovery partition) are dead. I had to reinstall Vista on a new hard drive. It went well until Vista was finished all the updates that are accumulated. He says that my Windows is not genuine, and he refused to go further than the connection. The Windows CD is Dell and it came with the computer. My Dell warranty expired a long time ago. Can anyone help?

Using the recovery process of the manufacturer normally does not require activation. It will activate itself during the recovery process.

  • How can I reinstall the operating system on a new hard drive?

I strongly suspect failure of hard drive on my old computer XPS 420. Data recovery isn't a problem. However, because the way I too lazy to buy a whole new operating system, is possible that I can transfer the installation of Windows Vista on a new hard drive? I told me that Dell will send me an installation disc to do, but how to make a record like this, and is there another way?

I'm thinking of ghosting the HDD on another and the use of the recovery for nuke partition in a new facility, but it would even work?

    Thank you

    SnarfTCat

The simplest method, I prefer to install a replacement hard drive, is to clone the existing hard drive to the new, that will also transfer all applications and programs.

You need an imaging utility, similar to True Image Home 2015.

    http://www.Acronis.com/homecomputing/products/TrueImage

Acronis resize partitions transferred to match the size of the new hard drive.

Hard drive manufacturers, also have their own free cloning software available, but it can be used only with their hard drives.

First, install the new drive as the secondary and the image of the main hard drive in it.

Immediately after the cloning, shut down the system, switch the data cable [SATA port 0] to the new disk, making the new master hard drive and see if the system boots properly.

Start the system with only the new hard drive connected.

Be sure to leave the original drive disconnected, until the new hard drive is working to your satisfaction.

Before cloning a hard drive, make sure that the existing drive has no corruption or virus on it, because they will be transferred to the new hard drive.

It will take a second SATA data cable, there should be a spare connector to SATA power inside the housing.

What is obtaining a disc from the Dell operating system Vista OEM [If Dell still copies of this available media], but you can be out of luck unless you have a warranty from Dell, but it's worth a try to see what is happening.

If you reside in the United States, or the Canada and are the registered owner of the computer, with an active warranty, a disk that contains the operating system specific to your system factory installed can be requested HERE.

Note: Dell may impose a charge for the disc.

If you do not live in the United States, contact the Support from Dell, which is located in your country.

  • Satellite P750 PSAY1A: how to create the recovery Toshiba on the new HARD drive partition

    Hello

I have an old Toshiba Satellite P750 (PSAY1A-01Y022). I just upgraded my memory from 4 GB to 8 GB and am preparing to take my 500 GB HARD drive 1 TB. I had to order the disk online and wait to happen.

I always try to understand how to create the arrival of my new HARD drive Toshiba Recovery Partition. I do the same thing for an old book, I handled based on something similar to it's original factory State.

I have reflected on the recovery partition, but does not know how it was created. It is not NTFS. Does anyone have experience in the creation of a Toshiba Recovery on a new HARD drive Partition?

And the help is very appreciated.

    Thanks and regards,
    Dinesh

Recovery partition can be created when you use the original Toshiba Recovery disk and install recovery image. Before the partitions to boot OS install will be automatically created, recovery image copied on a recovery and then partition as last step recovery image installation starts.

A sort of migration of files from one to the other HARD disk is not solution.

Only for laptop with factory will work and the usable recovery partition.

  • How to copy the recovery on the new HARD drive partition, HARD drive failed?

    Hallo,

I have a Compaq Mini netbook with Windows 7 Starter.

The HARD drive has failed and it is not repairable. However, it seems that the recovery partition is OK.

I want to buy a new HARD drive, install the driver on the netbook, and then use the tools/recovery partition to install windows 7 on a new PC.

So, the question is simple: how to copy the recovery for the new HARD drive partition?

    Hello s91066.

If your hard drive of your laptop doesn't have? If this is the case, what do you mean by the "recovery partition is ok? I doubt that this laptop has two hard disks, so if you are able to see this partition of your hard drive may still work.

You will need a set of recovery disks to restore the partitions on the new drive. If you can start Windows, which you can probably not with a dead hard drive, you can follow these steps if you can get into Windows.

If you are unable to boot into Windows, you need a set of disks. You can order it directly from HP. The number of the United States / Canada is 1-800-474-6836. If you are in another domain, you must visit HP's Support around the world to find contact information for your region.

I hope that is useful; have a great weekend!

Am trying to re - install Acrobat 9 Pro (includes the Distiller) after installing a new hard drive. iMac 27 "2009, ElCapitan 11.11.6. I have the original dmg file. have also tried copying from back up. Same thing is happening anyway. It seems to load correctly. When open it asks my password but not to its own serial number. It is open, but don't watch not at the full bar at the top, that the word Acrobat, and it does nothing? Worked very well before the old drive crashing. On the same operating system?

Not compatible does not mean that it cannot work (even if sometimes this does not mean that). This means that it has never been tested and not be fixed; This often means people have seen strange and unpredictable issues.

Acrobat makes changes to the system, it is always more vulnerable. DC Acribat is the current version. If the goal is to slow down completely, perhaps more profitable subscription activity.

  • How can I make a DVD of the restore hidden in my external hard drive partition recovery

How can I make a DVD of the restore hidden in my external hard drive partition recovery because I want to recover my toshiba satellite L840 that does not respond directly to my hard drive so I put my laptop to an external HARD drive and then I want to copy a DVD recovery partition

Your question is a bit confusing, you can boot the laptop at all? Have you tried booting in safe mode, you can make a recovery DVD set from there, the folder Toshiba.

With the drive in the Toshiba, you should be able to use a F, F10, F11, or F12 key to activate the installation from the partition hidden started upward.

Otherwise, you can contact Toshiba, and with the model of the product id number and the laptop for Windows, you can buy a set of disks.

  • I need to reinstall Windows Vista on a NEW hard drive

I need to upgrade my hard drive a 500 GB to a 2 TB hard drive. I want to keep the old hard drive as what without having to format. I'll put it on in the case where I never need to access the data that's out there. I have the key Windows Vista Home Basic 32-bit disk and license. Is it possible to just install it on the hard drive again without any license validation error or the old hard drive must be formatted to remove windows. Desktop PC. Thank you

    Hello

Legally, you must save your data > wipe this most hard > re - install your data, and then use this drive hard as you would normally use an external hard drive. namely for data only.

One license is for a single installation.

  • How to reinstall Vista on a new hard drive in a HP Pavilion dv6-1128tx Entertainment Notebook PC

Original title: ok, so I have a HP Pavilion dv6-1128tx Entertainment Notebook PC

I have a HP Pavilion dv6-1128tx Entertainment Notebook PC right... and my hard drive crashed just completely, I had a new hard drive and now I want again to install windows Vista on it, but I don't have a restore cd but I have a back on my old operating system... What can I do? Help?

is there anyway that I can restore my operating system...?

    Hello

What do you mean by: "I have a return upwards on my old operating system?"

You make an image and with what program?

If this is not a picture read more.

Contact HP and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.
