The scenario is very probably below:

You have restored a controlfile who had an old sequences in his V$ LOG (compared to archived newspapers with the later sequence numbers) and the related recovery online papers were physically available on the disc. RMAN preferred just retrieve available online Redo Logs and therefore simulated a full recovery (anyway, he did not ask CAMILLE):

    Hello

    (1) If you use "DORECOVER" while cloning, please remove it.
    (2) its still not, simply set the FRA and IE

    ALTER system set DB_RECOVERY_FILE_DEST = '+ DATA ';
    ALTER system set db_recovery_file_dest_size = 2GB;

    Note: Set it to primary and standby

    Clone of the DB.

    It works perfectly now, and once Reset original value if you do not want it.

    Happy cloning :)

  • The database recovery/restore failed with unexpected error 509

    Hello

    The database recovery/restore failed with unexpected error 509

    In the Event Viewer, I had this error SEVERAL times every second.  He goes absolutely crazy.

    I don't know what to do with it.

    I'm with Windows 8 Pro running on a very stable computer with 8gig of ram, plenty of hard drive space.  Each single drivers updated Windows Update.  Everything is really clean except this error in Event Viewer

    Svchost SRUJet (1624): database recovery/restore failed with unexpected-509 error.

    Task category: registration/recovery

    Esentutl /p /r tried / everything but nothing wrong was found with those

    Thanks for any help.

    Exactly the same problem, nothing Microsoft recommended was the cause, scannow and DISM commands are returned without error.

    So I went to the event viewer and scrolled down to find, when these errors began to occur. So I found a few entries initially saying things like: an attempt to move the file 'C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\TileDataLayer\Database\EDB.log' to 'C:\Users\xxxxxxxx\AppData\Local\TileDataLayer\Database\EDB00008.log' failed indicating system 183 (0x000000b7) error: "cannot create a file when that file already exists.

    Then, I went to C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\TileDataLayer\Database\ and removed the files listed (e.g., EDB00008.log).

    Bingo, the errors will stop immediately.

  • RMAN and repositories on the same database grid control

    What are the disadvantages of having the RMAN Repository and repository on the same database grid control?

    What effect does this have

    1. daily maintenance

    2. after disaster or high availability... or the recovery scenarios.

    3 is server performance with respect to the use of the CPU and memory - not desirable to have two repositories on the same database?

    Currently we have not a RMAN or a repository of GC. We intend to implement both. Angle of savings, it would be good if we can just build another data base for two repositories on an existing database server with 2 production databases. The server has enough CPU and RAM face for 1 new database, but that would mean an exaggeration to have 2 new databases.

    If it is not advisable to have two repositories on the same database, then we would need strictly two separate databases, in this case, we will need to go to a new database server host two databases, which the org seeks to avoid, as this would mean that to buy a new license.

    I tried searching a few books, but don't have no clear guidance on the same. Any opionion would really help. Thank you.

    Where this instance fails, all rman needs to restore is in the database control file. How to restore a database with rman from the command line, without a catalog. (The backup and Recovery Guide has details of how do.) This will get data back so that you can use the grid again control.

    In order to insure against a default of the machine hosting the instance, verify that the database is in log mode archive and protected with scheduled backups of hot and copy the backup files to another server.

    Other options for high availability, you have a license (Data Guard, RAC) could also be deployed for this instance, if you need more recovery options.

    You cannot copy directly, but you can save only data file with rman "backup datafile 42. However, the RCS in the header of the data file would be different now, and you cannot recover.

    You said in one of the message that the file without a NAME no longer exists? You rename it using 'alter database rename file '?

    You can use:

    ALTER database create datafile 42 as ' / home/oraprod/PROD/data/a_txn_ind10.dbf';

    Then run:

    RECOVER THE DATABASE AUTOMATICALLY USING BACKUP CONTROLFILE UNTIL CANCEL

  • RMAN DUPLICATE: Use backup or CURRENT database

    Hi all

    I have a database of 32 TB, and about what I've experienced so far, using backup to duplicate the database is similar to the use of the command to RESTORE and RECOVERY manually.

    If I use the option of DATABASE ACTIVE, then I should be concerned about the missing log files?

    Hereby, I mean, text source and target are in ARCHIVELOG MODE anyway.

    Thank you

    To answer your original question, yes you are worried for your missing log file.

    RMAN automatically copies the file to the server in the destination host settings, start the auxiliary instance with server settings file, copy all database files needed and archived redo logs over the network to the destination host and recovers the database.

    If your copy of 32 TB on the network would take more than 1 day (what is your strategy of retention according to your other thread), so what, you won't be able to recover the database.

    And you must mark this thread as a response and continue in your original thread.

    I use the rman recovery catalog, all databases are stored on the catalog database, is there any script to monitor all the databases that are registered in the recovery catalog.

    I have the script that displays only the last time success of the work of recovery catalog

    SELECT name, Inc., Journal, ctl
    Of
    RMAN.rc_database d,
    (select db_id, to_char (max (START_TIME),' MM/DD / YYYY:HH24:MI:SS') full)
    of s rman.rc_backup_set
    where s.backup_type in (')
    and controlfile_included = 'NONE '.
    Db_id group) f.
    (select db_id, to_char (max (START_TIME),' MM/DD / YYYY:HH24:MI:SS') Inc.)
    of s rman.rc_backup_set
    where s.backup_type ('i')
    Db_id group) i.
    (select db_id, Journal of to_char (max (START_TIME),' MM/DD / YYYY:HH24:MI:SS'))
    of s rman.rc_backup_set
    where s.backup_type ('l')
    l band db_id),
    (select db_key, ctl to_char (max (completion_TIME),' MM/DD / YYYY:HH24:MI:SS'))
    of s rman.rc_backup_controlfile
    Db_key group) c
    where f.db_id (+) = d.dbid
    and i.db_id (+) = d.dbid
    and l.db_id (+) = d.dbid
    and c.db_key (+) = d.db_key
    order by 1;

    Real!

    Difficult to shoot everything I want in a single query.

    select
            db_name,
            start_time,
            end_time,
            status,
            time_taken_display,
            output_bytes_display,
            output_device_type,
            session_key,
            session_recid,
            session_stamp
    from rc_rman_backup_job_details where end_time > sysdate -1

    Best regards

  • Database recovery

    Hello..

    I am new to Oracle RMAN backup and restore. I created a table and backs up the entire database. now, I dropped the table. When I restore and recover the database of

    RMAN > RESTORE database;
    RMAN > RECOVER DATABASE;

    the table is not recovered but if I make the point in time of recovery of

    RMAN > RESTORE DATABASE until TIME 'SYSDATE-1/24;
    RMAN > RECOVER DATABASE until TIME 'SYSDATE-1/24;

    the table is retrieved. I wants to recover normally. What should I do?

    you have to perform specific recovery time until when the table is available that is why cmd 'RESTORE DATABASE UNTIL TIME 'SYSDATE-1/24' '; works in your case.
    However if you perform a recovery full recovery of database and database back to the stadium even when the table was dropped and its not available in the database.

    Therefore, perform incomplete recovery.

    Thank you

  • RMAN level 0 and level 1/database tablespace relations

    If I take an incremental backup of level 0 of an entire database and then take a level 0 of an individual tablespace, an incremental backup of level 1 of this tablespace is refers to additional membership 0 the entire database or storage space? If I change the order of the level 0 backup, does it change the reference level of 1 storage space?

    I assumed that what I ask,'s done it level 1 differential reference the last level 0 regardless of whether it is the entire database or just the tablespace or a level 1 still reference it's own level 0?

    Also, if I take a level 0 of the data base Sunday night, then a level 1 of the database every night after that, as well as several levels 1 to a tablespace throughout each day, basic level of data Tuesday evening 1 will include all levels of tablespace to Monday 1?

    I can't find documentation oracle on these relationships.

    'Database' and 'Space' are logical groupings for our comfort.

    RMAN follows the data file level backups. Therefore, a backup of level 0 of a data file or a group of data files (storage space is a group of data files) using the most recent backup of this data file / group replacing a previous level 1 of the same data file backup / group.

    You could take the backups at level 0 of the database weekly and select level or level 1 backups of some files of data every day (e.g. datafiles 1 to 10 on Monday, 11 to 20 on Tuesday...) and Oracle will follow backups of data files.
    When you perform a BACKUP or a RESTORE to a tablespace, data files are backed up at different times, Oracle restores the correct image to each data file and apply the recovery using the ArchiveLogs.
    (Don't forget: even if you have a tablespace of only 2 data files and you backups tablespace, 2 data files can have different start times for their backups if you have 1 by backupset datafile!)
