You cannot copy directly, but you can save only data file with rman "backup datafile 42. However, the RCS in the header of the data file would be different now, and you cannot recover.

You said in one of the message that the file without a NAME no longer exists? You rename it using 'alter database rename file '?

You can use:

ALTER database create datafile 42 as ' / home/oraprod/PROD/data/a_txn_ind10.dbf';

Then run:

RECOVER THE DATABASE AUTOMATICALLY USING BACKUP CONTROLFILE UNTIL CANCEL

    Hello

The database recovery/restore failed with unexpected error 509

In the Event Viewer, I had this error SEVERAL times every second.  He goes absolutely crazy.

I don't know what to do with it.

I'm with Windows 8 Pro running on a very stable computer with 8gig of ram, plenty of hard drive space.  Each single drivers updated Windows Update.  Everything is really clean except this error in Event Viewer

    Thanks for any help.

Exactly the same problem, nothing Microsoft recommended was the cause, scannow and DISM commands are returned without error.

So I went to the event viewer and scrolled down to find, when these errors began to occur. So I found a few entries initially saying things like: an attempt to move the file 'C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\TileDataLayer\Database\EDB.log' to 'C:\Users\xxxxxxxx\AppData\Local\TileDataLayer\Database\EDB00008.log' failed indicating system 183 (0x000000b7) error: "cannot create a file when that file already exists.

Then, I went to C:\Users\xxxxx\AppData\Local\TileDataLayer\Database\ and removed the files listed (e.g., EDB00008.log).

Bingo, the errors will stop immediately.

  • doubts in the database using backup controlfile recovery.

    Hi gurus,

I have a doubt in database recovery using backup controlfile.

I do not speak of "ORA-01207: file is newer than the control file - old control file.

Here, any of our files archive / redo log have been lost and the problem of lack of update in the control file.

So why open the database in resetlogs option, after recovering the database by using a backup controlfile. ?

    Thanks in advance

    Mahi

In order to maintain the consistency of the data, the RCS should be the same in all the files of the controlfile & file REDO data current.

By definition when you use 'backup controlfile' there a SNA expired in it.

RESETLOG requires the RCS to 1 in order to get consistency across all files in the database.

CREATE CONTROLFILE fills this new file with the most recent SNA that exist in the data files.

It's just the way Oracle has been implemented.

  • Site Recovery Manager is certified for the recovery of the database?

    Hi all

I is currently exploring the possibility of using the Site Recovery Manager for database DR scenarios.

Before you go more away and actually try to run some scenarios, I'd be interested if someone of you has tried to do the same thing and if you actually managed to go beyond the situation of disaster, i.e. with primary VM [stop] down, then activating the VM DR.

Another important aspect, I would be interested is the certification: the Site Recovery Manager is certified for the recovery of the VMS running databases?

And if so, what data is it certified by: Oracle 10/11, SQL Server 2005/2008, DB2 9.x, etc.?

If the answers are well known to my question, please just point me to the right source by a link - that should be enough.

    Thank you

    Dan

At EMC, we use this definition (which is fairly common):

Uniform crash means that all devices in a given consistency group are writing order in line at a point in time.  If an application can recover from an accident, such as would be seen with a power failure or any other event of failure, then the application can recover from failover.

    Hi, experts.
I have an interesting question. For example, I have consistent backup, backup and archivelog next cintrolfile. How to find coherent whole SNA or SNA that will I can recover the database for?

How to find coherent whole SNA or SNA that will I can recover the database for?

Not sure if we give the same meaning to "compatible", but all the SNA are "compatible": see this AskTom thread, where you can read

the system change number (SCN) is the clock of Oracle - whenever we are committed, the clock
increments. The RCS has just marks a coherent point in time in the database.

    Hi all

I created a new database and wanted to restore the backup to a different database in it, I created the required tablespaces and began the restoration of RMAN backup by

The obtained controlfile restored successfully, then I tried to restore and recover the database

  • problem reconfigure everything. in the replication after the database crash recovery

Dear friends, I have little problem in replication,.
I have 2 databases DB1 and DB2 configured as Multimaster replication and My DB1 is master def. Now my master got DB2 database crashed and replication topology displayed in red color.
So I again created DB2 database. So I tried to bring this new DB2 replication again some of the operations being on my site of master def.
So the problem is that I couldnot stop replication
Can anyone suggest me how can I reconfigure again back in replication without removing the current group of rep

I tried suspend replication by Lee. intervention but couldnot

    Start
    () dbms_repcat.suspend_master_activity
    gname = > 'REPMG');
    end;

    can someone solution
    Note:
my database got crashed and I recreated the database and made available in the position while he was just before the crash

Even if 'create you' repadmin and links from the database, there is no information about the configuration of replication (repgroup (s), repobjects etc.) in the database. Also, of course, the deferred transaction queue has no entry.

You must configure replication scratch 'from '.

  • The problem with SQL after the migration of the database to another machine

Having a SQL strange problem trying to extract a database being moved from one machine to the other.  Both machines are running SQL 2008 32-bit and are both Windows 2008 servers.  When I try to backup the database using the SQL tools and restore the. BAK file on the new SQL Server, I get the following error:

Restore failed for server 'servername' (Microsoft.SqlServer.Smo)
    Additional information:
System.Data.SqlClient.SqlError: RESTORE detected an error on the page (44:2097184) in database 'RestoreDBName' read from the backup set.

Similarly, when I am trying to copy the. MDF and. LDF files to the new server and tie them, I get the following error:

Attach the database failed for the server 'servername '.
    Additional information:
An exception occurred during the execution of a Transact-SQL statement or batch.
A system assertion failed.  An assertion failure is usually caused by a corruption of data or software bug.  To check the database, consider running DBCC CHECKDB.  If you have agreed to send images to Microsoft during installation, a mini dump will be sent to Microsoft.  An update can be an available from Microsoft in the latest Service Pack or a QFE from Technical Support.
Could not open new database 'NewDatabaseName' create a DATABASE is dropped.

    Expression: lfh-> lfh_startOffset is startOffset
    SPID:55
PID: 292876 (Microsoft SQL Server, error: 3624)

Everything I've read, these errors usually indicate some sort of database corruption.  However when I run DBCC CHECKDB on the database on the source server, it is up to perfectly don't own... None detected corruption.  In fact, this server hosts 8 different databases.  Departure from all the correct DB on the source server, none of them will restore however to a new server using one of the methods above.  I'm having a hard time to believe that each of them could be corrupted when they show absolutely no indication of a problem.

    Anyone have any ideas?

Try to make the backup and restore via SQLCMD (or via a query in SQL Server MS window).

The backup will be the following (obviously, change "MaBase" and "D:\BACKUPS" to some database and the location you wish to save - just using for example):

    BACKUP DATABASE MyDatabase

    TO DISK = 'D:\BACKUPS\MyDatabase.bak. '

    WITH NOFORMAT, NOINIT,.

NAME = 'Database MyDatabase - Full Backup',

NOREWIND, NOUNLOAD, STATS = 10, SKIP

Copy your backup to the other server and file make:

    RESTORE the DATABASE to MyDatabase

    FROM DISK = 'E:\Backups\MyDatabase.bak' WITH FILE = 1,

    GO to "MyDatabase_Data" to "E:\SQLDATA\MyDatabase_Data.mdf,"

    GO to "MyDatabase_Log" to "E:\SQLLOG\MyDatabase_Data.ldf,"

    NOUNLOAD, STATS = 10 REPLACE

Again, change your names and locations in function.

If this does not work, try to restore a database by third-party tools. You can find them in Google. If you don't want to spend the time to research, you can try a tool SQL Server Recovery Toolbox. All the details about this program on the link. http://www.oemailrecovery.com/sql_repair.html

First, just for him heck of it, try to take out the battery (don't lose the screws bit) for a minute or two. It can reset.

The problem is probably a file that has been bad or has been corrupted by mysterious Sansa bugs. If you are able to connect to the computer in MSC mode, you can run ChkDsk to zap the wrong file.

If not, you will probably have to format and, unfortunately, lose all the music/video/pictures on it. Create a new empty folder on your desktop called sansa.fmt, go into the recovery partition and drag the sansa.fmt in there. Do not FORMAT THE PARTITION RECOVERY VIA WINDOWS - YOU're going to DESTROY VITAL FILES. When you disconnect, the Sansa will set up. Recharge a few albums at a time. Your most recent file was probably the one that crashed it.

If it was the fault of a file that you added - and personally and not scientific, I don't think that it's always - you should look at the tags of your files and use a good tagging program, mp3tag. More information on ID3 tags here.

  • Sansa E280 going to update the database when it is connected to the computer

    Hello

Just at the moment where I was getting things straightened on my drive and everything was working fine, I plugged my E280 on my computer and it says "Refresh database" on the player and my computer does not see the E280.

I've been looking around on the forum, and there are so many different options to try (of: delete the SYSTEM folder, which I was told not; to turn off the drive and engaging the hold button and the button to rewind when connecting to the computer, etc., which I tried ~ nothing; take off Firmware and put one on; do something in Recovery Mode) , which I have no idea how do; etc.).  Sorry, but I hope you get my point... What do I do?

Thanks for any help once more.

Thank you clu31355.  I tried the very first thing that you said ' put in operation and allow it to update the database (if desired) before you connect. "and voila - it worked.

These Sansas seem to be quite ticklish - who knows what will happen?

  • Compellent snapshot for the passive copy of the database Exchange 2010

    Hi all

I have the following Setup: A DAG with 3 Exchange 2010 mailbox servers, two of them are in the main data center and have the databases and the logs on the local storage. However, the third server is on a Data Center remote for disaster recovery and data bases, and newspapers is the Compellent storage. Of course, because it's my disaster recovery site, the database is a passive copy. However, the Replay 7.1.1.1 Manager Explorer is unable to see data in the section "Exchange shops". But if I turn the databases on this server, and then Replay Manager is able to see. My question is, how can I create snapshots of the passive copy of the database from my Exchange 2010 Server?

    Thank you!

I confirmed that Replay Manager cannot do that; the reason? Dag have a database and are essentially sending for updating the passive copies of newspapers. Since they are not online and synchronizes the DAG status between servers backup will always attempt to occur on the asset. If only one of your copies of DAG is on an HDS, it will be a more serious problem.

There is no restriction not to take a replay on passive volume all - except the same caveat that it will be not a quiece at the level of the BONE and being written in the log transactions is not valid. Unlike earlier versions of Exchange IS simply reject these that he committed the paper to the data store (if you try to mount the reading disaster).
