Rough Cut problems

Whenever I have create a rough cut apparently no data in it. No media don't start point, point of arrival or the duration. Who am I to spoil here? I pointed out the clip and subitems I want and then click on create the rough cut, right? Thanks in advance

The first edit is always created in a vacuum. You can add items and subitems to a rough cut right click on them and selecting 'Add to Rough Cut' or by dragging to the timeline window in the first edit.

Features to add the selected clip or subclip on creating a rough cut exist right now.

  • Rough Cut created as a prelude with transitions, sent to first Pro works then, using 'replace with After Effects comp', loses the transitions. Why?

With the help of Creative Cloud 2015 apps exclusively on a 64-bit win 8.1 Pro Gigabyte MB 8 core AMD pcu with 16 GB of ram and nVidia GeForce 8800 GTX graphics card. I deleted all the cache and restarted.

Created a simple Rough Cut in prelude routinely using H.264 in mp4 video and still photos from format of (via Media Encoder) components ingested in prelude ~

Rough Cut, composed of a sequence of 1 always followed by 4 x 3 second mp4 followed by another still followed by 4 more 3 second MP4, total length of 30 seconds.

Together, then the default prelude "Cross dissolve" transition between each item in the first edit.

Successfully sent this first edit in Premiere Pro using the menu option integrated prelude - send to first.

Works like a charm in Premiere Pro, including cross-fade transitions.

HOWEVER, now, in Premiere Pro, have not been able to use then 'Replace with After Effects' option under ' Dynamic Link ~ option is grayed out, regardless of how I select the element/sequence to replace. "

The only way I have found to use all the options 'Replace with After Effects' is the one that appears when you right-click on a sequence in the timeline window, but when open in After Effects, crossfade effect has disappeared; Only the elements of the scene still show when parsing through the sequence in the timeline.

After investigation, it turns out that the order of the individual elements that contribute, in the after effects project Panel, has been auto-réarrangés as assets to dissolve cross is now distributed among the other elements of the sequence and therefore cannot perform the intended function. It also destroys the fade in Premiere Pro effect that worked very well before attempting this 'Replace with After Effects' option.

I need to find a way to keep this intact sequence in Premiere Pro and after Effecys and be able to use After Effects to add additional effects to this rough cut sequence...

I have run the available tutorials in Adobe and Lynda.com and searched the forum for an explanation, but so far, nothing, I found has solved this problem. :

    1. How can I get the Adobe Dynamic Link to function when it is grayed out in the choice of Menu file?
    2. How to make the right click option 'replace with After Effects' to send the sequence in After Effects without changing its infrastructure, as described above?

I await with confidence to find someone here who knows what I'm doing well wrung out! and who can show me the error of my ways. TIA. /PSB

First transitions don't come in After Effects. They never have. Your workflow is not compatible with dynamic link. You should use AE to create shots and then change these shots in Premiere Pro. Trying to bring in a sequence which was finalized with effects and transitions is a losing proposition and not recommended.

  • Rough Cut first issues

    REALLY FRUSTRATING!

So I send my first editing of first, then I drag my first edit to the timeline, everything seems fine. But if I delete this first Assembly of the timeline is therefore more available to integrate the timeline once again, it's just empty and error message "no content in sequence Range in/out.

I tried with ' ID XMP files when importing entry ' checked and unchecked. I don't even know if it has nothing to do with the first edit, ugh!

Also, if I rearrange the bins I have sent the prelude in any way whether the first edit is lost!

So frustrated I start thinking I've lost months of time to make rough cuts in prelude.

    yuewenying,

I think the problem here is that Sheree neither I, or quite a few other potential users actually understand what and why many of the features and capabilities of this program are intended to do or work to be used. I think that this that how to use the program of the design team has thought and worked for is not clear which come to us in a way that... is a major step forward in usability for us in our work.

For example, the process takes cut seems a pretty rough cut in itself right now. I don't see how to use it actually saves me any time at the present time, the extent of total time "in the post" ingestion of images to offer a product to the customer. We, the users must be able to see how to use it in a way that enhances the use of our time, not only moves a job in a software program we know kind of one that we don't really understand yet.

Clarity of the functionality in the master plan to work a video project through the pipeline. This is what is needed.

  • Rough cuts of audio source missing prelude

    Hey everybody,

It's my first project with a prelude to a Premiere Pro workflow and so far everything works beautifully.

Although after creating a couple of rough cuts as a prelude and to Premiere Pro I am facing a problem with the audio every:

All clips in a rough cut do not play back audio even if they did in the prelude. I discovered that, after being sent to preview all the clips, seem to lose their source of audio track.

So what can I do to connect my audio is righclick-> audio channels-> choose the right source. If I want to do this for multiple clips at once it works for the clips shot with the same camera / format / channel names.

As I work with sequences of three different cameras, I'm trying to understand what is happening.

Someone of you knows a similar problem?

    Thanks for your help.

    Xoxidine,

Prelude CC, the new version which is the new feature comply automatically clips after ingestion, will be available on June 17. http://www.Adobe.com/products/prelude.html

As for forcing a reconform, please try this:

    • Leave the prelude
    • Empty your media Cache files folder, or if you can more accurately determine the files to be deleted - they are appointed in such a way that you can tell which files accompany what clips surgically remove files for clips you want to reconform
      • Mac: delete the .cfa and .pek files in ~/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Common/media Cache files.

        • don't forget "~" indicates your Home Directory. On my system, it is located in/Users/wplate
        • Another point: the Lion and Mtn Lion the library folder is hidden by default. Hold the Option key to select the go menu in the Finder and the 'library' is displayed. Choose that and a pops up pointing to ~/Library
      • Win: Remove .cfa and .pek files located in C:\Users\\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Common\Media Cache Files\
        • AppData is a hidden folder. Once I was in \Users\Wes I then clicked in the address bar type the name AppData and after hitting Enter this directory was opened.
      • It is also possible that your media cache files are defined to be elsewhere. The setting is in preferences of prelude in the media category.
    • Revive the prelude
    • Open the clip again, he must reconform

I tested with Prelude CS6 on Mac and Win, and it worked for me on both platforms.

  • Click new Rough Cut gets double error

Just started using prelude and created several subclips from a Canon XF305. Merger of MXF files. I added my first rough cut and you get a popup error by double clicking on it. The error is:

    Prelude has encountered and error.

    [..-.. \Src\MasterClip.cpp-176]

I have to hit continue a couple of times and then I can click twice on my original video and continue to create subitems.

I sent many subitems to the first and that they work as expected.

I deleted and then recreated the RC several times and I can see the RC file in a window of the Explorer.

    Running the prelude CS6 Version 1.0.3 (001 (MC: 218798))

I deleted the original RC, created a new default file location and it does the same thing.

I get a popup sorry, a serious error has occurred which requires Adobe prelude to close if I double click on a subitem.

    Any suggestion is appreciated.

    Thank you

    Rob

Wes from Adobe has worked with me on Friday. Problems, getting the Roughcuts and subitems in the timeline caused by an unknown state and disappeared after a reboot I did before Wes got on my system.

I was mistaken that subitem markers should appear in the timeline of the creation of the first video clip. I had four comments above the markers of a subitem, and they were in the timeline in PP. If you need add comments above your subitems if you want to see them when you send the whole video to PP. We were blocking in PP and had a mismatch in timecode, although they were synchronized smpte, so I'm still know the workflow and how best to use the PL. I put in a multicam support in PL feature request and hope that you will do the same if you think it's important for your work.

Thanks to Wes for the great support Friday,

    Rob

  • Prelude and first Workflow for transcriptions in documentary Rough Cut

Hello community, I use Prelude and first for a documentary, I'm trying. We used the prelude to transcribe and save a large amount of equipment and took the Prime Minister to change.  Transcripts are proved to be very useful since we have more than 400 hours of film to do, and the editors have made selects raw materials that already contains tags as metadata xmp file that we have compiled and printed in easy to read documents. However, the transcripts do not appear in the first, and it would be very useful to compile the transcripts of the selections depending on the material cut in first. I wonder if there is a way to import the first sequences or as a prelude to the project and have therefore a transcription of the first rough cuts which can be easily compiled into a digital file or print versions.  I hope that I was clear enough in explaining my situation, and I hope there is a solution somewhere out there.

    Hi Andres,

Please try the workflow between Prelude and Premiere Pro.

In fact there is no option to 'Send to prelude' similar to what you see in prelude--> send on the file menu for Premiere Pro. As the workflow is designed as a log file as a prelude, creating scripted, sending Pre Pro, edit the files in pre pro and the creation of the final video. After sending the files of prelude to pre Pro, any change that you engage in multimedia files through prelude would be automatically visible in Premiere Pro.

Although if you re-importation/reingest the same files, where the changes have been made in Premiere Pro, with Prelude, all changes would be visible as a prelude.

Make sure xmp files that are located in the same place as the original files are not deleted, they retain all the logging information made by prelude/Pre Pro.

Anyway, you always can once again log files in Prelude and send them to Premiere Pro.

I hope it helps. Please update in the case of other confusion.

    Thank you

  • Can I do a rough cut of some comments/Tags?

I have a project with several clips marked with comment markers. I want to take all similar comments (say all the tag named "John") and string them into a rough cut easily. Is there an easy way to do this? I swear I've seen before but can't remember where or how do.

    Thank you.

    Scott

    Hey Scott.

There is a way to add markers to comment in a Rough Cut for a clamp open, but currently no way easy to search in several clips and then only add markers of commentary to multiple clips in a tough don't cut at the same time.

    To do a single item:

0 open a Rough Cut (or create one)

    1. open the clamp (double click in the project Panel)

    2. in the markers Panel, enter the string you are looking for in the SEARCH field (for example John)

    3. only the markers with JOHN in them will now appear in the markers Panel

    4. Select the markers in the marker Panel you want added in the Rough Cut (use CTRL + A to select all markers)

    5. go to the menu at the top of the application where you will see the option to add markers to the open cut rough Rough Cut: 'Add selected markers '.

We are looking for possible ways to improve the workflow of prelude to allow you to search for markers across multiple clips in the project Panel. The set of markers resulting would be selectable and ideally be able to be added in the first edit. But it's still on the drawing board with a targeted release date yet.  Looks like this can help, Yes?

    Thank you-

    Michael

  • I get only one audio channel when I do a rough cut.

    Hey everybody,

When I do a rough cut with my subitems in Adobe prelude, it combines my two audio channels to a track. Even when I export my subclips in Premiere Pro, I also have an audio track with two audio channels in it. What I am doing wrong?

I am working on Mac and Prelude CC 2014 and first Pro CC v8.1.

    Can someone help me?

    Sven Jansen

    Junior video editor

    The Netherlands

    Hi Sven,

You do anything wrong here. If you grow the prelude and first audio track, you can see that the audio channels are in place. It's just the difference in the way in which strings are being represented in the timeline Prelude and rough cut.

Please let me know if you lose your audio chain.

    Thank you

    Ramesh.

  • TWITTER TIME: Call for comments on Rough Cut

    Hello all,.

A rough cut of my short film "Twitter Time" to be entered into the Festival of short film Big Sur is attached.  The brief description "Netflix sleeve" is:

"Mahatma Gandhi once said that there is more to life than simply to increase his speed.  Extend this theme of collapse of time horizons, a rapper was recently asked, "In the age of Twitter Twitter, person has time so they said no more.  What comes next? "This documentary explores the acceleration of the exponent'ial of our experience and various ways to change the sense of the time and the calendar of our senses through the creation of beauty in all its forms. "

A rough cut is designed to start a conversation.  I await your comments.

The film will be rated according to a system color of da Vinci Monday and still needing a bridge/interlude portion between two segments inserted at 02:00 minutes and work on transitions and pace.

    Here it is:

I think that your film is wonderful.

  • Serious cutting problem with HDMI HD output a7s

I am a filmmaker from THE base and possess an a7s & package Odyssey 7 q + recorder camera.

I just noticed a serious technical problem that must be addressed. When shooting video with the A7s, the component of luminance of the HD which are sent via HDMI signals are cut to 100IRE, no matter what profile picture gamma setting is chosen. I can see it in the waveform, the chrominance information is not cut exceed 100IRE. For example, when I turn the curve of gamma slog2, exposed blue sky just before clipping has kept above blue channel 100IRE, but more balanced information clip of signals (such as a piece of white paper).

This problem does not appear in the output HDMI 4 K or record XAVC-S internal. It is true both of these formats. It is specific to flow out of the HDMI port uncompressed HD video. I'm sure that it is a firmware issue.

This conclusion came after I noticed it during a shoot and have led to extensive testing. I would prefer a real difficulty as opposed to workaround, because it cut a stop of information from the latitude to highlight whenever I have to shoot 60 p or don't want to shoot 4 K.

Apparently, it's a problem with the recorder of Odyssey is not correctly interpret the sony exposure output scaling. Convergent Design is working on a fix to include with their next update of the firmware. I see this problem on Shogun I tested.

  • No audio output to speakers of the rough cut

    Hi all

My problem is that some project files do not playback audio through my speakers, although I can see sound in the audio meters when he rereads. I however other files wehre all works fine and can not find the differences between the two projects. Help

This sounds like the result of your audio tracks in sequence instead of preferences/hardware audio specific mappings, in this case. What type of tracks audio sequence are you using, by example, mono, standard, 5.1, Adaptive? What type your main audio track? Can you post a glance of your mixer Audio Track (maximize with the ~ key if you need to view all)?

  • Morph cut problem

When I try and use the morph cut on this video, it appears...

    \Concur (Sheri-Jodi) #331_5 Brittenford.00_01_57_00.Still002.png

I think it might have something with it being hidden, it has an alpha channel. I tried with the raw, and morph Cup worked how it was supposed to.

  • Put clip and rough timelines cut in different panels?

I do a rough cut and then when I click on a subclip in the project Panel, opens this chronology of a subitem in the same panel as draft chronology.

So I have to manually switch between open items to move back and forth (even if a subelement for fucks project automatically adding switches to Panel first edit.)

Is it possible for the first mounting and subitems in their own panels, open all the time? Or have two monitors up to?

I detach Panel, remove the Panel group, click another location, sliding, but nothing seems to separate them.

    Vincent

    Hi Vrvince,

Thank you to accentuate your confusion.

In fact, it is not possible to have two instances of chronology. At the same time, you can only view the clip or the scripted.

If you have several screens up, you would be able to detach the timeline to all other monitors and access to the larger screen, but you can have an individual calendar on different monitors.

Prelude supports this functionaly for monitor Panel for reading. You can check this Edit-->--> reading preferences. You would be able to view media on multiple external monitors in total.

But once again the same media file would be visible on all monitors, not the different that you try to view the calendar.

Adobe Premiere Pro supports 2 views at the same time which is a monitor of the program and the other on the Source monitor. You can use both to see clips and sequences (ruffcut) the same slave. You can see this creative cloud.

    _________________________

However, it should be a nice feature if we can have several instances of chronology; clips on a monitor and rouughcuts on the other.

You can submit feature requests to the things you want to see as a prelude to the http://www.adobe.com/go/wish. We will surely discuss this.

I hope it helps. Customer feedback is important to us. Keep writing for any clarification.

    Thank you

  • No subitems when I create rough don't cut

Simple question. When I create 2 subelements of an element and try and create a rough cut, when I drag the subelements with the clip in the first edit I get three separate clips. What I am doing wrong? Thank you

    HI -.

Looks like you drag the 2 subclips the main element in the first edit. Is this correct?  If so, then you are the finalisation of prelude to add 3 points in the first cut: 2 + 1 main element sub-elements.  You can / subelements and elements in the first montage so prelude layout allows this operation.

Looks like you want only 2 subitems in the first edit. If this is correct, then all you have to do is drag 2 subitems in the first edit.

I hope this helps. If I'm understand your steps or needs please let me know.

    Kind regards

    Michael

  • Tracker camera taped permanently 'camera problems' indicates how much time left

Tracker camera taped permanently 'camera problems' indicates how much time left

It is for a 30 second clip shot with a DSLR hand, a little shake and some pan and works

    any ideas?

Yes, the shots just won't solve. Try to prune the shot is shorter. 30 seconds is an eternity. I just cut a: 30 second TV spot which has 12 changes in action. The average length in a film shots went from 12 seconds in the 1930s to about 3 seconds today. A century of cinema data reveals how movies have changed

The normal way to work on a camera track turned is to rough, cut to about the finite length of shooting more a few frames as the handles, and then make the camera tracking and insert your effects. If you really must track camera suddenly more than a few seconds, you will need to carefully plan and fire the shot, so the camera can be re-created. More so the more likely is that the software cannot be resolved for the camera. The more things that are moving down the less likely, is that you will get a good solution. For example, if you walk with a camera on a sidewalk in New York spent thirty seconds you probably will be able to solve for the camera, unless hide you all mobile people, then compose the shot until you try to solve it.

A digital SLR that moves autour a little will also have rolling shutter problems and who gum up the shot. Blur fast movements also clogged the solution. There is no camera Tracker that can solve every time. Tracker of AE camera does a pretty good job with images carefully shot that has a lot of geometry sets in the scene when the lens used has very low distortion of the objective. Without seeing your shot, it's the best I can find. The chance whether the shot instead of a bug is very high.
