router lockout? wrt54-g

so I was messing around in my router settings and I unchecked HTTP and HTTPS under administration-> web app.

Is anyway to access other than the factory reset router?

Thanks for your time,

J

You cannot access your router now as you have disabled both options, you must reset the router and then re - configure... You should not unchecked the two options...

Press and hold the button of reset for 30 seconds... Release the reset button... Unplug the power cable from your router, wait 30 seconds and reconnect the power cable... Now re - configure your router...

  • Unable to connect after you change a new router and created a homegroup

    I myself locked up on one of my two computers while changing to a new router and creating a home group.  I apply my finger to fingerprint logon and I get a checkmark succeed.  After that the screen changes and it asks for a password.  I have a password for this unit, Dell XPS M1530, but it failed, I tried the password to the new host group and it failed.  The only thing on the screen after that failure is a bit and that is; "XPSM1530 index password".  Below, please sse list attempts;

    Fingerprints succeeded

Original password of my journal, has no

Password assigned to group living unit by me, has no

Don't have a password for collective housing by the software,

I even tried the password of the router, doesn't have to

Should I call to Microsoft @ $99 per event or Dell $$?  It is not unclear to me as to who I should contact.  If anyone out there not a remedy which the company should I go to?

  • Add WRT54G: second router / access point, unable to get to the outside network.

    Here is the prob:

We just got cable internet the other day and the cable operator insisted on using their v1000 Belkin F5D7234-4 instead of my WRT54G V8. So I thought I'd use the WRT54G as a second router/AP (without wireless/LAN/WAN). I was eager to do this by running an ethernet in the WAN on the WRT54G port and plug it into the port of the client on the Belkin, place the wrt - 54 G at the other end of the House and have the WRT54G broadcasting the same SSID and require authentication even as the Belkin and use the Belkin to Linksys Wireless Bridge. In this way, it will extend my wireless network and all computers can access the internet and the other (wireline customers will keep at wire-speed, wireless is not authicate to two different networks.)

I can't get the Linksys network based able to see all the other computers outside the WRT - 54 G, even for wireless clients. On the side of things Belkin network, I can't ping the router even if she pulls a DHCP in the Belkin address. All customers the Belkin side can meet and thin internet. I've fiddled with the WRT54-g for almost an entire weekend now with no result. The WRT54G can see the other router as a DNS as well as external DNS providers, but none of the client computers can. Basically, I'm wanting to extend the network of Belkin 4 as most cable customers and fill a few dead wireless, and make the visible computer on the same network of suggestions?

    Parameters of WRT - 54G:

    Automatic configuration - DHCP

    Same domain name like Belkin
IP router set a tire to the DHCP server

    DHCPserver OFF

    Mode of operation: router

    Safe are disabled.

Wireless SSID is the same as Belkin

Wireless channel is the same as belkin.

Method and auth. key is the same as belkin.

    Belkin:

    DHCP is on.

    15 IP addresses available.

Wireless gateway is on with the WRT54G Wireless MAC address information.

    Ethernet cords are connected.

I played with static routes for hours, tried the option routing dynamic, even tried DMZing of the WRT54G intellectual property in the belkin and still unable to connect to the internet. Tried the Belkin MAC address cloning. Nothing seems to work. When I plug the WRT - 54G directly in my digital/Modem/phone cable box, I get internet and everything. I'm at the point of throwing same DD - WRT on it.

But beyond connection "wireless" I discovered really does not work if well (drops random wireless speeds seize up) with two different pieces of equipment running two different firmwares. So the thing connecting wireless set was out the window.

I however knew what I had to do Linksys firmware:

    1.) DHCP clients forward.

    Customers of Belkin - network

    Linksys customers - network B

The dhcp pool was not get transferred to the client computers. That is the 1-2 on network computer had XXX. XXX.100 - 102 for 3-4 computers on network B was YYY. YYY. YYY statically set by Windows. Even after changing to a static address on the network A dhcp scope I could still connect to the internet or to one of the computers on the network.

The static routing table seemed not lead me anywhere either, and I've tried dozens of configurations.

The way I got it Setup is with the customer enthernet of the Belkin ROUTER to THE Internet on the Linksys WRT54G port 1-4. Maybe I should have plugged the ethernet on the client side of 4 ports Linksys?

Anyway DD - WRT redirect DCHP feature was what I need.

Regarding the scenario wireless two routers have the same encryption method and key but different channels and ssid. Who, with DD - WRT for some reason when I jump on the wireless-B, Vista will be ID it as network A (B).

I hope that it has not violated anything except the guarantee which was anyway. The reason for which I needed for my network up this way is because I do a lot of work using VM (of various operating systems), is simply easier to have two separate semi networks. (to different physical locations in the House)

  • What Linksys router for?

    Hello!

My old wired router Linksys BEFSX41 v1 died and I had to use my old Netgear RT311 router to use the Internet. I'm looking for a new router at a local retail store (Best Buy, Fry, Office Max, Staples, etc.) to buy tomorrow evening. I heard a lot of positive comments on WRT54. A good for? I don't need speed and will always use an old Linksys WAP11 (connected) because some old wireless devices and computers do not have something higher to WEP (Yes, I know, it is easily hackable). The good of http://www.salescircular.com/ca/computer/wrlsnp.shtml?

    Thank you in advance.

Yes, the WRT54G is really a good wireless router... A few good models are WRT54GS, WRT54G2... Check out this link.

  • Installation of two - route

I live in a rural area and have the two satellite internet and cellular (mobile broadband) internet, because none are reliable. I connect to technology mobile broadband with a PCMCIA card that is inserted into a Linksys WRT54G Router. Until very recently, I plugged on satellite via a separate router, which meant that I had to switch routers to switch services and one of the two services could use both.

I just bought a router Linksys RV042 double-Wan, hoping to run them simultaneously by satellite and cell phone through the same router and use load balancing. I have the RV042 defined as the router DHCP. DHCP is disabled on the 54G. I changed the IP address of the default 54G to 192.168.1.145, in the sector of the RV042 customer. I connect a LAN on the WRT54G port to a port on the RV042 WAN. No go. The RV042 does not see the 54G. He treats the LAN connection as active, but does not have an IP address.

How can I get the RV042 the 54G, as he would a modem? Any ideas?

It's a bit complicated, so I have it divided into stages.

    IP address settings:

    (1) the value of the port LAN WRT54G 192.168.2.1

    (2) set the RV042 LAN port on 192.168.1.1 [default]

    (3) RV042 WAN1 and WAN2 for obtain an IP automatically

    (4) WRT54G LAN Server DHCP active.

    (5) WRT54G gateway (no RIP) mode

    (6) set RV042 for BACKUP or load balancing mode as you wish

    (7) fill RV042 configuration of DHCP - DNS Server - with 192.168.1.1 or the address of an Open DNS server that is accessible from both of your ISP.

    Connections:

    (1) WRT54 LAN to RV042 WAN2

    (2) RV042 WAN1 to satellite Internet

    (3) PC and any other printer, etc., next to RV042 LAN game consoles.

    Results:

    (1) WRT54G should now be accessible [of LAN] to 192.168.2.1

    2) two providers of Internet services must be accessible without the need to reconfigure the hardware or the LAN IP settings

    (3) RV042 is accessible [LAN] at 192.168.1.1

    (4) all connected to the WRT54G wireless LAN devices will not be able to access the Internet by satellite.

  • Tips to add a VPN router to my current network configuration

    Dear all

My apologies if the answer to this question already exists, however, I searched in many situations and none seem to match what I'm after.

I currently have an ISP modem/router in Bridge mode connected to a TC of Apple which is my wireless router, I have 2 Express airport connected to this acting as the extensors of the range.  I have a VPN service through the MyPrivate network I activate on the desired device when required and everything works fine.

What I want to do now is to be able to use my AppleTV and burning Amazon via the VPN as well so you need to add a VPN router in the configuration.  I want to finish with 2 wireless networks running together for these devices who need VPN and those who are not.  I don't want to lose the opportunity to extend the network to express it however airport.

If someone could explain to me if this is possible and if so how do I set up the network.

    Thanks in advance

    Mark

Basically you would need a device that supports VPN-passthrough and VLANS for your goals of networking. MyPrivate network, seems to be a VPN SSL, which is a user-server configuration. In other words, you install a client VPN on your Mac and you connect to the VPN network MyPrivate server to establish a VPN tunnel.

Networking two or more "separated", should be using a router that supports VLAN services. Each segment of VIRTUAL local area network, in essence, would be a separate, she either wired or wireless network or a combination of both. This would probably be the 'easiest' part for the installation program.

Now how combining the two would be the question, and I don't know what would be the best way, or even if it is possible.

    A few thoughts:

    • Use a router that supports VLANS. Create at least two VIRTUAL LAN segments. One for Apple TV & Burns, one for Internet access in general. Connect the device to VPN client host on the first segment, and configure for Internet sharing.
    • Download a dedicated VPN network application that supports hosting of third-party VPN clients, like yours. You would still need a router that supports VLAN to provided separate network segments.
    • Hire a consultant network. Let them know what you the goals of networking and ask them to offer potential solutions.

  • Can I use the Time Capsule wireless for multiple computers without using it as a router?

I am looking for an external backup for 2 computers drive.  I have a desktop iMac and MacBook Air.  I like the idea of being able to back up my MacBook Air wireless, but I need to make sure that it will work the way I need to.

I already have a wireless router that works well for me, I don't need the time Capsule to act as a router. I'm just needing a wireless backup drive.  So, the question is, can I use the only time Capsule as a storage device for backup of wifi or do I also have to use it as a wifi router?  My fear is that the router service is not as good as the router, I currently have.  I live in a big House of 2 floors, making it very difficult to receive a strong signal throughout the House.

can I use time Capsule only as a backup wireless storage device or do I also have to use it as a wifi router?

Time Capsule need to connect to your router/modem existing using wired Ethernet wired, permanent.

If you plan to use the time Capsule to back up your Mac with the help of the application Time Machine on every Mac, the Mac will have to save on the wireless signal Time Capsule for the process to be officially supported by Apple.

While it is possible to turn off wireless on the Time Capsule and try to save it to your existing wireless network... and it pourrait work... but there will be no Apple support backup problems... so it would be a good idea to plan to use Time Capsule wireless backup purposes.

  • Use the second router to extend the network to Time Capsule

I have a v7.6.7 running Time Capsule 1 TB and older airport. I'm hoping to add a second router in a new location, and I use an ethernet cable from the TC at the new router (TP Link Archer C5), updated to the latest version of the firmware. The IP address of the TC is 192.168.1.1.

I have set up my router C5 as follows: allocation of IP 192.168.1.199, value DHCP = off, and I connect a cable between the TC ports and port WAN (not Internet) available on the C5. In the C5 wireless settings, I tried both using the TC SSID and pw and creating a new SSID and pw. In both cases, the network will work for a short time, but eventually the entire network, including the TC, stops working. I made no changes to the parameters of the TC on any trial.

Is it possible to use a TC and a router not Apple on the same network? If so, what are the right settings for the TC and the secondary router? If not, is it better to have the not Apple as main router and add the TC to the network created by the non-Apple router?

Is it possible to use a TC and a router not Apple on the same network? If so, what are the right settings for the TC and the secondary router?

Yes. That would be the basis of a network of mobile type.

The key for a roaming network parameters are:

    • The 'primary' router must be configured as a router. In other words, it must have active NAT and DHCP services.
    • All other routers used in a network of roaming must be reconfigured as a bridge.
    • All routers must broadcast a Wi - Fi network that uses the same network (SSID, aka) name, and the type of wireless security, and the password.
    • All routers must be interconnected by Ethernet. To provide Powerline adapters using an Ethernet connectivity should also work.

If not, is it better to have the not Apple as main router and add the TC to the network created by the non-Apple router?

Should not really which is the main in the roaming network.

I think at this point, your current circuit line. To check that, I would suggest that you consider to bring back the router C5 in the same room as you have the TC. Then connect it directly to one of the LAN of the TC ports. Complete the entire upward to a mobile network and test it. If everything works, bring back the C5 in the desired location, and then try again.

If it fails, then the circuit line will be tested to check that it provides a solid 'Ethernet' connection between the adapters.

  • Need to connect MacPro to the router

My Mac Pro is now connected to the internet via the airport card and the modem is down. But I need to connect a router on a mac so I can run my laserprinter through a network using a RJ45 cable. I can't run the cable in the area of the modem is located. Can I connect the router directly to Mac and use the card airport as the internet connection?

    Dbarunas,

You left out some important details, but let me see if I can answer without them:

Assuming that the ISP modem you mentioned is your current destination of wifi and Airport card is built-in wifi Mac Pro adapter.  I also guess your desktop not a laptop since you don't mention MacBookPro.

    1. If your router is wireless and assuming that the 'airport' is the the computer's built-in wifi card.

(Wired connection) modem-> router (cable) * (wifi)-> laptop (wifi) (* printer cable) to connect to the router via wifi instead of the modem, then turning off the wifi on the once the router WiFi modem set up, if possible. (No need to nuke the family bits with too many signs wifi).

    2. If your router is not wireless.

Modem-> laptop (wifi) * (wired)-> router (wired) (wired)-> printer (cable) (* make sure that the computer has not a gateway specified in the network settings for this connection assigned static address.)

    3. If your router is not wireless and no other host on the router. (without router required)

Modem (wifi)-> laptop (wifi) (wired)-> * printer (cable) (static addresses the only, once again no gateway) (* this may require a crossover based on the capabilities of the printer Ethernet cable.)

When you use a wired network on the laptop and wireless Internet access, make sure the "backend" network cable is on a completely different range of addresses and 'NO' gateway assigned or the laptop would not know how to get to the INET.

  • How to fill Airport extreme wth my DSL router

I am interested to buy an airport extreme and I currently have a DSL WiFi router. can I fill my current setup and then copy it into the new airport extreme, and then turn off my WiFi in my DSL router? in other words, I wish the Airport extreme to be the main WiFi, I hope I'm supposed?

You cannot copy between dissimilar model routers.

And there is absolutely no reason and without having to turn off the current router wifi and every reason to leave it on.

The extreme must be in bridge including the Apple Installer mode to remove the wireless of comments. So I encourage you to just run two wireless networks... (there bandwidth to run 3 without causing problems).

Create the wireless on the extreme with your own new values wireless... and you connect some Apple devices you want.

But you can do what you want... just use the existing router SSID in the airport and use his password... However, this can cause problems for clients who expect a single Assembly and find that they are connected to something unknown.
