  I use a Nvidia GeForce 8500 GT and Windows Vista graphics card. Also, I downloaded the latest driver from Nvidia site
  and installed correctly. After you start Photoshop CS5 first, everything works perfectly. Also when I close the program and restart, no problems occure.

  If I restart my computer, start the CS5 Photoshop software and open a picture from an existing file, the image may not be displayed on the screen. Also if I start a new file (click file - new-...) the white drawing card is not displayed. The only thing I see is the color of gray background, but also leaders. The thumbnail of the image open or white card drawing is displayed in the browser normally window and there is no error message at all.

  If now I reinstall the NVIDIA driver, restart my computer and launch Photoshop CS5, it works again all perfectly. To run Photoshop CS5 on my computer, so I need to install the NVIDIA driver already installed after each reboot.

  Maybe there's a solution by changing the parameters of VRAM in Photoshop?

  First disable the opengl and see what happens. If it helps, maybe set to "basic". On a sidenote: the latest drivers are not always the best.

  My Photoshop CS5 works perfectly UNTIL I try to batch-process anything. If I go into file > automation > Photomerge, no problem, but when I go to file > PLC > lots, the second I hit the jackpot, I get an error message telling me that Windows has to close Photoshop. I never had this problem with CS4, I never deleted and must use when batch processing. What gives?

  If I do that, I won't be able to run my scanner software! Is there a TWAIN driver that will not crash it when I try to batch?

  Recently migrated to CS5.

  Running Photoshop CS5 fine for a week, working mainly on pictures... but now that I need to work on something that has more text in it (like a CV chart) screen is not reflecting the changes I'm making.

  I can click inside a text box, but I'll never see the cursor. I can type, but I will never see what I'm typing. What was there before I clicked on the text box is still there. It's as if the viewport is frozen.

  However, if I leave the area of text, perform a zoom out and zoom... I see the changes I made. Ditto if I move the layer.

  There is something wrong with the freshness of the display window. I even turned off OpenGL, recharged at all... and it will only properly work for a minute or two before as I have nothing in this document gets immediately posted. I always move layer autour, or make the zoom tour, to see what I did.

  What is even more strange is that this file is only 5-6 MB in size. I worked with 6 GB (that's right, GB) files the week last without any problem, because the text was minimal. But the program cannot process a file size of peanuts if there a lot of text in there. It's the strangest thing.

  If someone has encountered this problem, and if so, what did you do to fix?

  OK, so my only other guess is that a corrupt police may cause a slowdown as we try to preview.

  Try to disable the font previews in the preferences, restart and see if it happens again.

  I am trying to run Photoshop CS5 in 64-bit Windows 7. Everytime I open the program, I get an error saying "Adobe Photoshop CS5 has stopped working", immediately after the startup screen goes away and the main GUI opens. The only option on the error is "close the program".

  I'm on a computer with a processor i7 and 12 GB of memory. I have two Nvidia GTS 250 video cards, four monitors running.

  During the last day, I reformatted my computer and reinstalled Windows twice. I reinstalled the CS5 Master Suite several times that I can remember. I also downloaded and installed the latest drivers from Nvidia video card.

  I keep having the same problem whenever I try to open all of the programs in the suite CS5.

  The only time where as I got near the do function was immediately after installing new Nvidia drivers, before restarting my computer. I could open only once without it breaking, once I restarted my computer, Photoshop kept giving me the same error everytime I try to open it.

  I don't have any other software installed on my computer. This is a new installation of Windows 7.

  I was on the phone with Adobe technical support for about an hour and a half, and I still have to get one unique suggestion other than to try with my unplugged network cable installation. Other than that, they seem to be fond of the transfer me back and forth between departments (and asking me to repeat all my information every time).

  As you can probably, I am very frustrated at this point and would be very happy to suggestions.

  My scenario and history:

  Windows Vista Ultimate Edition and now Windows 7 Ultimate

  NVidia Quadro Fx 4500 screwing 4 monitors total SLi on or off - makes no difference.  Drivers are irrelevant.

  2 x Xeon 5160 (so total 4 cores)

  24 GB RAM

  PS CS 4 or 5

  4 monitors - Yep it's the thing 4 monitor.

  Fails every time that you describe.

  Comment - if you remote desktop on the computer - and so, indeed, use a single monitor - PS works fine.

  A WORKAROUND solution for 4 or 5 - I don't consider not that difficult because you lose some features, but it gets you 99% it and is the same workaround for CS4 or 5

  Go to: Files\Adobe\Adobe Photoshop CS5 (64 bit) \Plug-ins\Extensions\ (or CS4 - according to version)

  Look for the file:

  ScriptingSupport.8li

  Disable this extension by renaming the file with a tilde before the name of the file.  So:

  ~ScriptingSupport.8li

  Start Photoshop - it works and is essentially functional.

  The only real drawback I found is that disable this script extension means that you cannot use some of the scripts integrated under FILE - SCRIPTS - larger PIA for me to be that of the Contact Sheet Builder no longer works.  But as I now use Lightroom to create planks-contacts - this is not a big loss.  Other features script - I'm sure is applied - but not to the point I find PS unusable.

  ADOBE - if you read this - it was this extesión now for the last two editions of the PS.
