run the system 7 pro. Can no longer access devices and printers OR convenience store can not print. Help
I did everything that was asked of me, but nothing helped. I have no viruses/malware on board. I tried the fix Blutooth, I tried the fix noted. Nothing. I can't always access devices/printers or troubleshooting. I would accept with gratitude any suggestions.
The system is a DELL System 7 pro auroura (replaced my XPS 8500 when it crapped out under warranty.) Don't want to launch another unrelated question but why 9 months microsoft since harassing me bootleg software when I use the official product delivered directly from DELL?
Respectfully,.
Dr. J. Michael (COOL Dr)

Update of the system: KB2890084 (64) can not be installed
Hello, I am not able to install the following update on my ThinkPad E540, nor by using Lenovo System Update or installation manual: KB2890084 (64). However whenever I start the system update (that I keep up to date) I find this in the section "recommended."
The only solution to get rid of this strage behavior seems to hide in the update system. Can anyone confirm that this update is obsolete, so I can hide it safely in the update system? What it is?
Please help me, because I don't know what to do. I thank very you much in advance!
Best regards, Alex
P.S. I use Windows Core 8.1 (64-bit)
This KB has been included in recent "Update 1" Microsoft for Windows 8.1
So more the KB does not apply.
We will remove the KB of system update. Sorry for this disorder.

Devices and printers takes a long time to open
In Windows 7, the devices and printers open almost instantly. In Windows 8 Pro x 64, devices and printers takes almost 30 seconds to open, and it takes a long time whenever I open it. How can I shorten the time required for the devices and printers to open?
Before you answer, please note the following:- I don't get an error message when I open devices and printers.
- I have not made any recent hardware or software changes to the computer.
- I experience the same behavior when Windows 8 starting in a boot environment.
My problem is solved.
Instead of wasting time on generic solutions, I should look for a specific cause from the start. In my case, the problem was with my scanner. In devices and printers, I open my scanner and selected properties of analysis. On the events under Actions tab, Windows had chosen to 'Interrogate what program to run.' I changed it to "Start this program" and choose my scanner software in the drop-down list.Devices and printers now opens almost instantly. -
I clicked "forget this site" and I am looking for a way to undo it. I have heard say there is no way to retrieve the history of a particular site, once it has been deleted, but surely, it leaves some kind of record in the system? I read an article that suggested running the "System Restore" feature which gives me the option to "restore my computer to an earlier time" before that some changes have been made. Would this work?
Hello, windows system restore will not restore the file that contains the history of firefox unfortunately (it's called places.sqlite). you would need a backup of your firefox profile folder to retrieve such data.
Please also update firefox - the version that you are currently using is outdated and affected by many security vulnerabilities.

I tried to install a wireless adapter USB on my laptop, but I can't seem to get the driver from the installation CD files to load. I have no problem loading and use of the adapter on my desktop. They are in C:\winnt\system32. On my laptop (Dell Inspiron 700 m, running the same WinXP Pro, SP3), no there no. C:\winnt folder. This would explain why the CD with the driver files will not charge in the computer and so why the adapter won't work. Why would this file be C:\winnt... not being on my laptop using the same operating system? It would be possible that Dell to have intentionally omitted when they loaded 'their version' of XP?
Some XP system files in C:\WinNT store computers, and some store in C:\Windows . I don't think that the difference due to the problem with your wireless network card.
The driver installation should ask Windows XP where to install the files, using the value of the environment variable SystemRoot . Its value, click Start > all programs > Accessories > command prompt , type the following command and press enter :
echo % SystemRoot %
That shows the Manager of devices for the network adapters? The wireless card is installed, and it has a driver installed? There are some unknown devices?

It sounds like you lost the file association for .exe files.
Visit the following site and follow the instructions to restore your .exe file associations. Be sure to read the note at the top that applies specifically to the .exe file associations:<>http://www.dougknox.com/XP/file_assoc.htm >

How to identify files that may be deleted without jeprodizing the files needed to run the system?
If you have to ask, the answer is "Don't '. Uninstall programs that you don't need through programs and features or add/remove programs. Do not, under any circumstances, remove files unless you are absolutely sure you know what you delete first to 100%.
