RV042 & RV082 SIP aware

Are the RV042 and routers RV082 SIP aware?

I had no luck find documentation indicating such.

Thank you.

RV042 and RV082 are unaware of SIP.

If you have VoIP phones in the LAN of RV042 or RV082, you will need to use Port Forwarding to transfer the SIP traffic.

  • RV042 RV082 tunnel, NAT - T and slow performance

    Hello

    I have a RV042 VPN with an RV082 tunnel.

The RV042 has a public IP address that is obtained by PPPoE, the RV082 has a public IP address

obtained via the static IP address.

The problem I see is a show really slow. Two internet connections are inactive and performance

    is about 2 or 3 kbyte/s

My question is if I need to activate it:

    -Agresive mode

    -NAT Traversal

    -IP Compresion

    -Dead PEAR detection

How can I troubleshoot-done it slow performance?

    Kind regards

    Oliver

Hi Oliver, the first thing I recommend is to do a sur-net test speed and a net speed off test. Sense, using a site speedtest by your ISP, then a speedtest from an external site like speedtest.com. This will give you an idea how your internet behaves for both parties.

The second I would like to do is to try to lower the ciphers of tunnel. For example if your tunnel is des/md5 it should have extremely low overhead and should increase in performance.

Things such as NAT - T would not help, it is a technology to map nat had addresses. Dead, detection (DPD) peer is a mechanism serving the VPN policy after a period of time when the other side is not detected. Aggressive mode can help with little speed, he sends essentially all of the negotiations in a 1 shot instead of several phases.

  • RVO42 and Layer Gateway Application SIP-can it be disabled?

We use a phone system requiring a layer gateway Application SIP should be disabled on the router.  We have replaced former RVO42 routers with the WRVS4400N router and VOIP phone works very well with this option unchecked checkmark.

The new router RVO42 allows to disable this option?  I did find it in the manual to date.  I don't want to buy two routers and find that it won't work with the telephone system.  We have Dual WAN this time so I thought that we would try RVO42 model again as long as it is the most recent version.

Someone had problems with the RV042, RVO82 new with VOIP NEC phone systems?

    Thanks for any help.

RV042/RV082 does not support SIP ALG, so no conifguration option to disable.

  • More high version of firmware for the RV042

    Hello

I would ask if this is possible the latest version for this RV042 to have. Under system information, it shows

    Firmware version: 1.3.9 (April 24, 2007 13:03:25) CPU: Intel IXP425 - 266 DRAM: 32 M Flash: 8 M

    Cisco has later this last version " RV042 RV082, RV016 firmware 4.2.1.02 - tm (V3 hardware required). " How can I tell if the RV042 is a v3 hardware?

    Thank you

1.3.13.02 - TM is the last on V1.x RV042 brand hardware, what is Linksys.

RV042 V3 material can be identified on the product label at the bottom of the unit, where VID PID should show RV042 V03.

V3 material is marked as Cisco Small Business.

  • RV042 routing problem

I try to use the rv042 as a primary internet connection and also as a VPN failover for my primary private WAN connection.

I have a load balancer / failover device, called a Fiberlogic, which acts as the main router to network my office remotely.  This device shows you all the traffic to my private network go to junction A and all Internet traffic going to the B connection (connection B is the rv042).  If the fiberlogic sees this connection is down, it will send the connection B's private network traffic.  The RV042 has a VPN setup, I tested it and it works.

However, I have one VERY difficult to get the RV042 to act as our internet gateway.  The RV042 is in mode "gateway."  Devices plugged into it directly (or via an external switch) work very well.  The RV042 LAN is 10.2.254.0/24, and he est.1.  FiberLogic est.254.  The main network is 10.2.0.0/24 (and the FiberLogic.1.  The FiberLogic road all traffic to the internet (and for failover) of 10.2.254.1.  I have install a static route for the RV042 road 10.2.0.0/24 to 10.2.254.254.

I had a ton of problems with this earlier today.  I have a second RV042 I put in to see if that would fix it.  There can be no.  Finally I have restored the default settings and reset the top, and I thought it worked.  As I was cleaning the I did one last test - and it failed.

I have install a hub between the FiberLogic and the RV042 and configure a computer with Wireshark to do some packet traces.  I get strange results.  I never get a repyl.  SOMETIMES I see answers from 10.2.254.1 (the RV042) towards 10.2.0.25 (my desktop) in wireshark, even if I don't get them (odd).  However, whenever I have ping to internet, I never see the answers, only applications.

I read that DHCP should be disabled for a static routing to work.  I tried with and without DHCP several times.  I tried with and without VPN.

Once again, peripheral not behind the fine work of fiberlogic (i.e. on the 10.2.254.0/24 subnet that use the RV042 as gateway).  UT behind the fiberlogic devices fail.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

RV042 Rv082 and RV016 router can be configured for additional NAT networks who are sitting behind the LAN.

    1. log on to the router

    2. go in the configuration Page

    3. roughly halfway down the page, there are article that says "several Setting subnet.

    4. click on the button that says "Add/Edit."  This will bring up a dialog box

    5. Enter the network number and subnet mask, then click 'Add to list' for example network: 192.168.200.0 mask subnet: 255.255.255.0

    6. click on save changes

    7. that you will return to the previous page in the installer

    8. the checkbox in Multiple subnet must be checked and the second network to be coordinated should be

    9. click on the page to "Save settings" at the bottom of the page

I note: the latest version of the firmware for the RV016 seems to prefer to have this process done with Internet Explorer.

  • Multi-NAT

    Hi all

I have a small business network with multiple systems on a local network.  I would like to expose two of these machines on the Internet with static IP provided by my ISP. Both of these machines offer web services via ports 80 and 443, and so port forwarding will not meet my needs.  The way I have addressed this issue in the past is to use a router with "multi-NAT" or "NAT-to-many" support. Alas, the router I was using no longer works, and the company no longer provides a similar offer. Speaking with the service the customer of CISCO today, they have suggested that one of the CISCO 800 series routers should respect my need.

    So my questions are:

1 - is anyone out there using a router 800 series to face a similar scenario?

    2. If so, is it possible to configure this scenario (e.g., Multi-nat) uses the Cisco Router Web Setup (CRTS) tool?  I'm not familiar with IOS and prefer to ignore the learning curve.

Thanks for your suggestions and advice.

    Kay

Routers Cisco Small Business RV as RV042 RV082, RV016, RV120W and RV220W are supported a feature called NAT one by one, that supports your scenario. All routers may be managed by a Web GUI.

Here you can find the administration for these routers guides.

  • How to point a public IP of my unit of Tandberg?

Good day - someone directly my on the best way to a point of my public IP will bring to my unit of Tandberg.  It is currently in my network, I can shout to public IPs but I would than others to call me.  Any help will be greatly appreciated.  Thank you

The fact that you work out would indicate that your NAT device (Firewall / Router) a H323/SIP awareness. To the incoming enalbe call, you will need to create a static NAT mapping 1 to 1 on your firewall for a public IP address mapped to you internal address of you the VC unit for the ports required for video conferencing.

There are two documents of support site Tanderg for Tandberg, Tandberg & H323 and SIP that detail the ports that should be allowed.

  • RV042 v3 & RV082 v3: WAN Failover + restore VPN

    We have a v3 RV082 and RV042 v3 with latest firmware.

They have all two Dual WAN (backup active Smartlink).

They connect with each other via the VPN (with VPN enabled and configured backup Tunnel).

When primary internet (WAN1) fails, and it switches to the internet backup (WAN2),

We have to manually replace the VPN of WAN1 WAN2 interface to restore

    the VPN tunnel.

We tried to create a second instance of VPN using WAN2, however it will not save

due to a conflict of network with VPN original (even if we move the destination VPN

IP and VPN backup tunnel IP).  I imagine that the conflict is the destination network.

How do we automate the VPN interface change an outage of the internet?

Or about what work can be done to ensure the VPN is restored after a

failover of the Internet (WAN interface change).

To address scenarios, you need the two operating sites in the double-wan load-balancing mode. The main tunnel is formed with two interfaces WAN1 and the backup tunnel is formed with two interfaces to WAN2.

  • RV042 binding protocol SIP and RTP (VoIP)

    Hello everyone,

I have a RV042 with a DSL (WAN1) and cable internet connection (WAN2) in load balancing Mode. The DSL provider also provides the internet phone when registered via its line. When I turn off the WAN2 port, my IP phone properly registered with the server of the provider of DSL registration. I also defined bindings Protocol (port 5060) SIP and RTP (5004 to 5020 ports) to be associated with WAN1. My IP phone is configured to listen on those ports.

    The rules are in detail:

    SIP(UDP/5060~5060)-> 'myPhoneIP' ~ "myPhoneIP" ('RegistrationServerP' ~ 'RegistrationServerIP') [active] WAN1

    SIP(UDP/5060~5060)-> 'RegistrationServerIP' ~ "RegistrationServerIP" ('myPhoneIP' ~ 'myPhoneIP') [active] WAN1

    RTP(UDP/5004~5020)-> 'myPhoneIP' ~ "myPhoneIP" ('RegistrationServerP' ~ 'RegistrationServerIP') [active] WAN1

    RTP(UDP/5004~5020)-> 'RegistrationServerIP' ~ "RegistrationServerIP" ('myPhoneIP' ~ 'myPhoneIP') [active] WAN1

With these protocol bindings in place when I reactivate WAN2, then after a while the phone shows "failed to save".

I put something else outside the protocol binding to force the VoIP traffic to go via WAN1?

    Thanks for your help

    Felix

Congratulations! And I certainly intend to. Enjoy your day as well.

  • Router business small RV082 - Wake on lan (Internet)

Hi all, I saw old discussions about WOL and RV082/RV042.

As blocks to route broadcast from internet to lan packets, operate, the WOL I should change the table of ARP on the router using telnet, this action was probably, with the versions V1 and V2 possible, but challenging telnet connection (http://<> Address > / sysinfo123.htm IP?) ConsoleSimulation = 1 with RV082 V3 nothing is displayed and the telnet connection on fails (23) standard port.

Does anyone know how to get the magic packet WOL through a V3 RV082 on internet to the LAN?

Using simply do not port forwarding, router throw broadcast packets from the internet.

Hi Loris, you're wrong, if the computer was turned off completely, you will never be able to reactivate it. Even if a router does not throw a broadcast packet, the firewall will be. What you need to do is to tell the router to wait for the type of service and just allow it.

Render a service to the customer, usually port 9... then do 2 access rules.

First access rule is WAN LAN refuse all services of refuse any source and any destination

Second rule is to WAN to LAN with permit personal service from any source to any destination

For good measure, you can try to do a port forwarding, but give access to try first rule. I assure you of the network card or the BIOS of the computer is in sleep. The MAC address is what is important that's why I don't feel of port forwarding is necessary.

This will allow this package through the router. When you connect to the network of the internet, the computer you are using has no notion of what computer on the local network it is trying to access (unless you specify the correct fields in the WOL GUI). He uses the IP and the subnet of the external router. So as long as the computer on the local network has the listening port that corresponds to the WOL GUI so it should work.

  • bad connection RV042

    Hello

    I have Cisco rv042.

    Firmware version: v4.2.3.03

set up dual wan and balance the load.

I have problem with Patton sn4639 BIS so VOIP router, every minute of connection loose, and need to re-register you... when it connected directly to modem everything work is fine.

    Any ideas how to fix?

    Thank you

    Hi Taras,.

I think it should be option SIP ALG must be configured on the RV042

Then go to the webgui interface and open a hidden page

    https://IP.address.of the.router/f_general_hidden.htm

and you can see the SIP ALG option

Please let me know after your tests

  • Conflict of Certificate SSL RV082 Cisco for ActiveSync

I have a Cisco RV082 session before my exchange server. I have the port forwarding for 443 to my exchange server.

My ActiveSync (iPhone, Droid) users get a connection error when HTTPS is enabled on the Firewall tab using the MS Connection Tester, it appears that the ActiveSync connection picks up the cert of Cisco, installed on the RV082 and not the cert I on the Exchange Server.

If I turn off HTTPS then it all works.

That would be fine except that I seem to need HTTPS to my VPN connection enabled to work.

    Help!

I saw this question on RV0xx V3 devices. The devices are built with more security, but the device will always meet the demands of SSL certificates and not transfer the request even if the port forward is activated. Even when the port which is transferred 443 is not the router will always respond with its own SSL certificate. If you experience this kind of configuration problems. Please if you do not need ensure the management to distance, SSL VPN, or secure disable management LAN HTTPS under the firewall settings. If you need these parameters so please call in and create a case. More business with this number, we create the problem gets noticed and solved. There is no rejection of bug at this time for the same problem, I know. Please call Small Business Support Center at 1-866-606-1866. • RV082 WAN speed limit

    Hi all

I worked for years with RV042 and RV082 routers will detect any problem.

Now, I have implemented a RV082 connected to a router (cisco) of my ISP (fiber) which provides 30 MB. I cannot download more than 10 MB/s. I can almost Download 30 MB/s.

If I connect my Airport Express directly to the Cisco router I can reach close to 30 MB/s download and download without problems.

I played with MTU (auto, 1500, 1492,...) without success. I used Load balancing, backup or just a Wan connection cable but no result.

    Can someone help me?

    Thank you very much!

    Alberto

OOOOO, I remembered where I saw this kind of problem before!

Check the setting of the ethernet in the WAN port and make sure that it is set manually to match the speed of the port on cisco routers.  For example, if Cisco is 100 MB half-duplex, be sure that the rv082 is set to the same.  I saw the same thing on a router, I had who had only 1 mb down and 11 MB upwards.  The duplex setting was wrong.

I hope that this solves the problem!

  • Errors of certificate RV042 browser by connecting to the web-based GUI

I put the RV042 for QuickVPN access.  The router config recommend turning on HTTPS in the firewall when using QuickVPN.  The side effect of this is any web browser get me certificate errors and warns me not not to continue to connect to the router config.  How can I fix this so the browser does not throw these messages?

Router Linksys brand is using the latest firmware for this material (1.3.13.02 - tm)

    Hi Tim,.

The deeper issue, it's because of the certification on the cisco.com area which you do not own. And when you connect to your router probably with your own domain name or ip address that it compares this information with the information stored in the certificate. Because it will never match across is a mistake. The RV0xx series routers are not able to install 3rd party certificates, then it will not be able to resolve in their current version. I'm not aware of any decision to modify the code to solve this problem. The RV220W and SA500 series routers have the ability to install a third-party certificate. The SA is the only other model that has the ability in the line of small business to double WAN.
