RV220W second problem of DHCP vlan

Hi all

I have a router Cisco RV220W (the 1.0.4.17 firmware version).

I would like to have two separate networks with the following characteristics:

Netwrork1: network address range is 192.168.0.1 - 254. All devices should be able to reach eachother within this network and connect you to the internet via Wifi or LAN. This network, I was also able to reach the device on the router management page. Also the devices should get the throgh of DHCP ip addresses.

Network2: network address range is 192.168.5.1 - 254. All devices within this network should not be able to reach devices in Network1. All devices on this network should reach internet through Wifi only. Device management page should not be available on this network.

I have configured the router as described in the attached screenshots, but the problem is that in Network2, devices get IPs of the range 192.168.0.1 - 254 and not from 192.168.5.1 beach - 254. Also, there is no internet on these either.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mate, honestly I don't think that there is an explanation here. It doesn't seem to work as it should. I personally default from Router 2 ssid, 2 VLANs and test from there before you make additional configurations.

• problem with dhcp Cisco sg200 voice vlan

I have cisco sg200 50 p connected to the switch cisco 3750. I just wanted to separate voice (vlan2) and data (vlan1) VLAN. I created vlan 2 as my voice VLAN and separate dhcp server for vlan 2 to give IPS for phones. However the phone ip connected to my voice vlan (vlan 2) does not receive the ip address of my dhcp server vlan 2.

the dhcp server is connected to a switch with an access port (vlan2-voice) 3750

two switches are connected through the trunk ports and allowed vlan 1 & 2

IP phone is connected to sg200 via the access port (vlan 2).

Note: there is a pc connected to the ip phone

I'm really grateful if someone can help me with this problem

Hi Ruchiran,

To cover the base, ensure that VLAN 2 is added to the database VLAN on the 3750. Simple by using the command "show vlan id 2", if it is not found, you must first create the VLAN 2 on the 3750.

Second, if you connect the same IP phone directly to the 3750 on an access port, vlan 2 unidentified, is the phone receives IP address as you hope?

Then, on the trunk of 3750 connection to the SX200. Building the trunk when using a command like "switchport trunk allowed vlan remove 1-4094," then build the trunk more precisely with the VLAN ' trunk switchport allowed vlan add 2 "who will score 2 VLAN port." "

On the SG200 switch, must be defined the trunk and VLAN Tag 2 on the port to connect to 3750 then the connection to the phone port should be 2 VLANS not identified as access port.

• Problem with DHCP broadcast between VLAN

Hello

I trying to solve the lab that I set up, I have a problem with broadcast between VLANS with my DHCP. I looked around the vmware community to find my answer, but I did not who is right why I post here!

So here's my situation :

• ESX with 2 race of VM:
• An R2 of 2012 Windows running a DHCP server with a configured scope
• This virtual machine is assigned to the vmnic4 with the port VLAN 100 group
• A Windows 7, which I use as a customer
• This virtual machine is assigned to the vmnic4 with the port VLAN 110 group
• Switch Cisco with a simple configuration:

interface FastEthernet0/1

Description LINK FOR ESX

switchport mode trunk

switchport nonegotiate

interface FastEthernet0/24

Description OF LINK ROUTER

switchport mode trunk

• Configuration of the Cisco "router on the stick:

interface FastEthernet0/0.100

encapsulation dot1q 100

10.1.1.254 IP address 255.255.255.0

interface FastEthernet0/0,110

encapsulation dot1q 110

IP 10.1.2.254 255.255.255.0

IP helper 10.1.1.0

The resolution of the problems that I did:

• Affecting the client static IP and that both virtual machine can ping each other
• Moving from the client to the same VLAN as DHCP server, and the DHCP server is to give the client an IP address.
• Sniffing the packet:
• I can see the client DHCPDiscover
• I can see the router with the command "debug ip dhcp server packet" package passed on the 10.1.1.0.
• I am not able to see the packets from the router to DHCP perspective

That's why I guess miss me something ESX configuration.

Thanks in advance for reading this post!

PS: I've linked a vswitch configuration screenshot

I think that you have configured an incorrect address of IP support, take a look at the following line:

IP helper 10.1.1.0

Your DCHP server is really 10.1.1.0? I think not, since 10.1.1.0 corresponds to the ID of the network 10.1.1.0/24 network.

• Invalid field of SEC (seconds) on the DHCP requests sent by 9 X 2

Hi all

When I plug the phone to the switch (CISCO SGE2010P poe) the phone starts up, but when sends the FIRST dhcp request, it has a value of 29 seconds, so switch relay makes the backup DHCP server and get all the backup information when main is living.

As can be read on the manual switch:

"DHCP requests are relayed only if their DRY field is greater than or equal to the threshold value". SPA962 with SPA942, it is always true. The initial time (used to subtract) should be network time and no start.

Thank you

I solved this problem:

The phone was right, the problem is to have activated Spannin tree on the switch, because it will not be before up to 30 seconds broadcast packets to get the link.

Thank you

• The problems of routing VLAN?

Hello

I'm trying to get our network out of a topology of flat to work with the hardware I have on the spot I have setup the network and local networks virtual, but could not get any other VLAN to carry. Here is what I use:

Reference Dell PowerConnect 6248 as my router from Layer 3 and three PowerConnect 2748 detach the 6248 in three GAL groups all with four ports together. I have VLAN 10-50 for various average things regime 192.168.10.0/24, 192.168.20.0/24, 192.168.30.0/24 ect.

Here's the question: 10.0 network works fine, but on any other VLAN, I get an IP address from the DHCP server, but I can't ping my gateway let alone ping another VLAN.

Heres my living room will be output:

Thanks Daniel, I understand this problem. on the 27xx series switches I was marking traffic on clients without realizing it was not labeled. New network equipment in collaboration with a Cisco and DELL all this background I've ever had to deal with THIS a marking was done automatically.

• Sg300 DHCP vlan

Very well. I have two scopes for two VLANS configured on the sg300. When I put my laptop in the vlan 1 I get an ip from 192.168.0.0/24. I then release the investigation period, I put the port that my laptop is in vlan 20 and try to renew to get an ip address of subnet associated 172.20.20.0/24 to vlan 20 but I get an ip address from 192.168.0.0/24 which is associated to vlan 1. The only way to get this working is I have to go in the sg300 dhcp Unbind and then renew and I can get an IP address of 172.20.20.0. I would have thought that if I put the laptop in vlan 20 and released and renewed the sg300 would give me an IP of 172.20.20.0 not 192.168.0.0 associate of vlan 1. What Miss me? Why the sg300 responds with an ip address of the vlan different?

Sent by Cisco Support technique iPad App

I have also experienced this and it looked like a post without an answer this month I think. It is not considered a bug or a problem given that the hosts are not supposed to change VLAN as they do when we use are PCs for test. Personally I think that each vlan would have its own isolated table of link as well as any other table, matrix, or structures. Maybe someone can explain why this is normal or a solution.

• [Security problem?] RV0xx vlan & VPN

Hello

I have a problem with the latest RV042 firmware (I'm not for previous as this is my first).

I have a lan interface that is connected to a network of offices (192.168.2.0/24).

On the wan interface (only 1 is used), I have the internet connection.

Office network is connected to another site (192.168.1.0/24) using site to site vpn. So through the interface web, LAN (192.168.2.0/24) is authorized to communicate with (192.168.1.0/24) and also the other way around.

Everything all right at this stage.

I have to configure a vlan comments. So I assigned a vlan unused to an unused port lan. I added a "multiple" for this new subnet VLANs. (192.168.4.0/24)

When I set up a computer with ip static/dhcp (192.168.4.1, for example), I can't access local office lan and I can connect to the internet (which is OK).

The problem is when one set of comments is 192.168.2.x ip. The RV0xx is 'listening' with ip 192.168.2.1 and then send the package in the vpn tunnel if the destination is 192.168.1.x.

So is there a way to stop this flow, because I don't want you will have access to the network through VPN? As you can understand, this issue is not limited to comments, but rather of vlan with VPN. What I am doing wrong?

Someone has the same problem?

Thank you

Jerome

PS: If there is a bug, can it be resolved in the next firmware soon.

To prevent a client from changing its IP address assigned, you would need an additional switch to enforce security.

|-------------||----------------------------|                   |           e1|-to-eth1-VM2-----WAN|VirtualMachine 1        eth0|---trunk-VLAN1&2---|g1         e2|-to-eth0-VM2-----LAN2|eth0=VLAN1 eth1=VLAN2       |                   |           e3|-to-eth0-VM2-----LAN2 etc.|                         PC |                   |   SWITCH  e4||VirtualMachine 2            |                   |           e5|-to-eth1-VM1---wire-to-LAN2|eth0=VLAN3 eth1=VLAN4   eth1|---trunk-VLAN3&4---|g2         e6|-to-eth0-VM1-----LAN1|----------------------------|                   |           e7|-to-eth0-VM1-----LAN1 etc.                                                 |-------------|

gX = Gigabit portseX = 100Mbit portsVMX = Virtual machine numberwire-to = patch-cord connection between ports on the switch

Schema of routing and logical visibility:

LAN1---VM1-----VM2---WAN |LAN2----------|

Important note is that LAN1 and LAN2 must be separated (visible only through routers). WAN must be visible through VM2 to LAN2 and through by VM1 and VM2 to LAN1. It seems easy, but VLAN that I did on this passage seems doesn't work.

I do it like this:

Step 1: Management of VLANS / create a VLAN...

Creation of VLANS 1, 2, 3, 4 (numbers meters right now - I have now this number 1 is restricted to the switch).

Step 2: Management of VLAN / Port to VLAN...

Setting up VLAN1 with ports g1, e5 (the two labelled or not identified?-I have not seen any difference)

Implementation VLAN2 with ports g1, e6, e7, etc...

Implementation VLAN3 with ports g2, e2, e3, etc...

Setting up VLAN4 with g2, e1 ports

Step 3: Management of VLAN / Port setting...

Implementation of ports e1 to PVID4 (chassis type = all I guess, but with "capture filter"?)

Setting up port e2 at PVID3

Setting up port PVID3 e3

etc...

Setting up port e5 for PVID1

Setting up port e6 at PVID2

Setting up port e7 for PVID2

etc...

Thus, on this configuration and that the switch it does not work for me

I know that the switch is to see Mac since VLAN which is carried out by PC, because when I arrive in "Admin / dynamic address" I see pimps on the correct ports, with good VLAN ID. So the problem is to transmit a VLAN for their ports, then clear frames of ID and let the packets to go (and return: clear packages, add the VLAN ID and send to their Gigabit ports).

Show the configuration is one of the many I tried :/ but I think this one is the best.

Or maybe I don't know VLAN as I think and this scheme is impossible? Please tell me.

Concerning

and waiting for any suggestions,

• WLC5508 problem with dhcp and flexconnect local switching

Hello
I have a new WLC 5508 with firmware 8.0.133.0 (suggested one right now) and I'm trying to set up a WLAN with flexconnect and local switching, but when I try to connect a client it is not getting an IP address.

Here's what I did:
-put the AP mode flexconnect
-support vlan in the AP has allowed
-local switching license and only in wlan
-spread the vlan from AP to the local gateway
-put the IP helper on local and pointed the wlc management ip gateway
-set up a scope for the vlan Server dhcp internal WLC
-set up a working group with the vlan-wlan association flexconnect

Here is what I checked:
-l'AP obtains an IP address in dhcp in the vlan, and a lease for that appear in the DHCP Server internal to the WLC
-If I put the interface vlan on a switch in DHCP it gets the ip address of the same way
-If I set the static IP address in the wireless client it ping the local gateway and navigate normally
-J' tried the deactivation/activation proxy DHCP in the management connected to the WLAN interface, but nothing happened
-J' tried Central DHCP activation of treatment with no luck

It seems a dhcpdump on the wireless client client ask for an IP address, but get no response, as if it were the DHCP request is be filtered or diverted somehow.

All you other ideas?

DHCP on the controller is not a real dhcp server, see it that way. The management interface is used when defining aid ip and proxy dhcp must be enabled for internal dhcp. In your configuration, dhcp only works for the AP and should not work for any cable customer. You should be able to use the IP helper pointing to your WLC management interface but also make sure that you create an interface on the WLC for the local subnet and assign the interface to a correct address, even if it is not actually using it. Then in the new dynamic interface of this local subnet, you create, make sure that the primary dhcp is the ip address of the controller management. I think it works.

I would really use a true if possible dhcp server or even put a dhcp scope on the interface of L3 on the production site.

• Cisco SPA with problem of DHCP Options 66

Dear all,
I have a problem of my phone Cisco SPA for the autodeploiement.
If I manually enter the page configuration and paste "[- pwd - password user uid] http:///dms/def/spa$PSN.cfg" in the profile rule. Everything works perfectly.
However, we would like to do in the provision of zero touch, I add the "[- pwd - password user uid] http:///dms/def/spa$PSN.cfg"DHCP Options 66. " The SPA phone seems impossible to get the 66 Options parameter. It shows that "/ spa$ PSN.cfg" in the rule of profiles.
I'm sure that the DHCP server works perfectly.
Can anyone help on this?

Kind regards

Desmond

You cannot use the custom during initial deployment (zero touch) password. DHCP can be used to deliver key to the device in this way.

Ok. What are the options you have?

You my use of the configuration file, compiled with SPC type -target option. It encrypt the file by using the password from each device Mac so you need no password given to the device - device can calculate the password required their Mac. It provides just basic security level - insensitive user, like me, know the algorithm used for password generation so that it can calculate the password and decrypt the file.

You can use HTTPS with mutual certificate authentication to deliver XML or SPC configuration form. All phones have the unique client certificate, then you can be sure that the request has been issued by the unit. It offers a high level of security.

There are also a few other possibilities, but disclosed so that information on the goal you want to hit, so I can't list.

Just note that DHCP will meet anyone, in addition, the answer may broadcast (therefore handed to anyone, even without prior request). If you deliver critical data via DHCP, you can consider them publicly available. Security resulting is without security.

• Problem with DHCP SG200-26

Hello, I have a switch SG200-26 for a small business network that gives me some irregular deadlines. We have a wired broadband to Internet services, (cable Modem), which is plugged into a port on the switch Gig. In our office space, we have a wireless router for PCs connected to SG200-26, and connected by Ethernet to SG200-26 IP phones. In the PC desktop access via Wireless-> SG200 - 26-> cable Modem.

DHCP is provided by cable modem for the devices connected to the SG200-26, devices on the wireless get an IP address of the wireless AP.

I have an IP phone and a laptop that won't get a DHCP address when it is connected to the switch SG200-26. I know that DHCP works on the cable modem because the 6-10 devices work without problem. The phone that will not get an address is new. When I connect to the wireless router to test it, it gets an IP address without problem. I connect my laptop to the switch and that you do not get a DHCP address. I rebooted the cable modem, all devices got an IP address except this new phone. I blame the phone, but my laptop is not getting and address either. I also checked the cable operator and they don't see any errors on the cable Modem.

Help. I fear that the switch is failed the DHCP information and when the current IP address leases expire I have a dead network.

Thank you

Hello

If you have this option then the best Setup is to connect your E2500 directly to the modem with a static IP address, then connect the switch to the E2500 and connect the whole switch. It works like a charm.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.
