S10-3 touch pad DOA, suggestions?

I got my new Ideapad S10-3 today, I got it on ebay but it's brand new. Since I started the system, the touchpad did not work. (Cursor does not move and nothing happens when I click on buttons). I have attached a mouse, and it worked. I don't know the touch pad is not disabled (I tried Fn + F6 several times) and I've updated the driver several times. Still nothing after that.

I called the 1-877 number and a rep said that I should send the netbook to their service center. I have to pay half of the cargo. I haven't decided if I should do it. Someone with experience sending the laptop for repair? Please give me some suggestions in this regard. I'm a little desperate right now. Thank you.

Hi and welcome to the forum!

I'm not familiar with the S10-3, but I'll try to offer some help.

Try looking in the BIOS to confirm that the touchpad is turned on it. eBay auctions usually have a DOA policy, try to look into it, the seller reported the situation to see if if it is ready to do something about it.

Keep us informed.

    Can you help me?

    Hello

It seems that the wireless mouse or mouse wireless drivers/software has a bad influence on the touchpad.
I put t have a good solution for this problem. Well, you can consult the page of the Toshiba driver for latest driver updates. If the updates doesn't solve this problem I suggest to use either the mouse wireless and disable the touchpad with FN + F9 key combination or use a regular USB mouse.
I guess that you are having regular problems with a USB mouse.

  • Touch Pad Driver for Satellite A50?

I reinstall my old Satellite A50 with Win XP without the recovery CD can not find a match with the model or S/N on the Toshiba support pages well. The touchpad driver I downloaded (pointing device Alps, worm 6.0.303.4, dated the 11.12.2003) seems to be OK with the material only problem is that I can't find the right software for Toshiba TouchPad on / off? I installed what I believe is the correct software and it shows in the Panel under the mouse/TouchPad configuration, but only as inactive (gray). Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

    > Can't find a match with the model or S/N on the Toshiba support pages well.

Drivers for Satellite A50 lie on the European driver Toshiba page.
Because the A50 is an oldie, the drivers have been moved to the archives.
You should choose an archive in the type of product, and then you should find the driver for the touchpad too.

You also need to install the common Modules and Touch Pad on / off Utility v2.05.00.
    Both are here too!

  • Yoga 3 Pro Touch Pad works only with Win10

This alluded autour in several other YOGA Pro 3 WIN 10 upgrades, but it should probably start splitting on each particular issue.

My upgrade to Win10 without any problem on the upgrade itself. I did the upgrade with an attached mouse and now I no longer a switch back to the use of the touch pad. Another way of saying this is that my Fn + delete button doesn't work.

I checked Synaptics for a driver, but they don't list one for Win10.

  • MacBook Pro swollen battery and touch pad don't slam

My 2011 MacBook Pro has been inactive for 3 months and when I put it in the service of the touch pad will not work correctly.

After finding the empty battery, I loaded for several hours and it took the charge.  3 days later, the load is always good.  the problem is that, while the cursor moves easily, the touchscreen function (enter) will not work.  The pad seems to be a little swollen as well.

I was in a harsh climate in Saudi Arabia for a year and had a few touch pad issues with swelling of the battery.  When I returned in North America the problem disappeared.  Now the problem is back.

I'd like suggestions on maintenance or replacement battery.

    Hi there Jaggerdog,

If I understand correctly, you want to know how to go about setting up of service for your MacBook Pro that has problems with the battery. Take a look at the Web Service Response Center page linked below, it describes the service options for your device in several countries.

  • Toshiba touch pad does not

HI.i have a Toshiba Satellite U300-113 laptop and the touch pad does not work. I tried to look for it under the mouse settings, but it is not there.it shows that the external mouse device.i visited recently and it worked then and when I came home and tried to use the touchpad, he did not. PLEASE WHAT DO I DO? the external mouse works properly, but I really prefer the built-in mouse.plus when you are carrying the laptop around for portability, it is quite difficult because I have to carry an external mouse wherever I go.

Please, I would like to know if a solution can be found as soon as possible please?
Please specify your guidelines so that I'll know what to do.
    Thank you.

We hope that your touchpad device is not physically damaged in any way or has gone wrong.

    Then...

Type device manager in the start menu search. You can also access it by right click on computer > properties and look for a link called the Device Manager on the left.

In the device, search for 'Mice and other pointing devices' Manager and see if everything is there. Using my computer for example, I can see «Synaptics PS/2 Port Touchpad» If you see something like that, then you have a few choices.

    Right-click on it and choose:

Update driver software - update the driver software to the latest version if found on the computer or on the internet.

Uninstall - Uninstalls the driver entirely.

I suggest try updating first. If this does not help then do an uninstall (it may disappear when you do this). After uninstalling, look up and you'll see a few icons. Place the cursor on them until you see the description "Check for changes on the hardware" and click on it (the icon should look like a computer with a magnifying glass). The unit should reappear, right click and reinstall the driver.

Note: If you double-click on a device, you can see the status of the device. It should say "Device works properly."

Note #2: Also on the Toshiba site, I can't find the drivers Toshiba Satellite U300-113 and support page. I see U300-ST3091, U300-ST3092 and U300-ST3094.

I recently had my computer Dell XPS 'fixed' and when I came back I couldn't use the "scroll bars" on the touch pad to move the cursor up or down or back.  What can I do to remedy this?

  • Touch pad to turn off Windows 7 when the mouse remotely installed as I could in Windows XP

In Windows XP, I could go to control pannel, mouse and click to Disable Touchpad when another mouse was attached.  It would be automatically on the touch pad if no mouse was attached USB.  I couldn't locate any method or the answer that allowed a change of software touchpad in Windows 7.

I had an old Dell D820, installed Win7 and couldn't find a way to disable the touchpad and keys/stick.  Based on other suggestions, I went to the Dell website and downloaded the drivers Vista (Win7 drivers not available).  As soon as he installed and rebooted, I had an icon in the Sys Tray (by the clock) that I could then select a setting to turn off when the external mouse connected.  So for those who said it is a pilot thing, I agree with them.

  • My computer laptop touch pad keeps freezing

So I had this problem with my HP laptop for a while now. My mouse freezes randomly when I use my touch pad, make me have to close my laptop and open it again to my touch pad start labor, it might sometimes take awhile to start to get back to work. Someone please tell me what to do this gets really annoying when I have to keep closing my laptop to get my touchpad to stop the freezing point.

(P.S my mouse works fine when I plug in a mouse, so I know that my touchpad is the promblem here.)

    Hi Chanellex,

Thank you very much for the product number. I hope you had a good weekend. I included the link to the driver for your TouchPad below. Start by making sure that the original driver is deleted. Go to your device manager and looking for your Synaptics TouchPad or something similar. Right click and uninstall. Then, install the link below. Please, note use this method if you have an external mouse, if you install just the software.

  • Equium L10 - touch pad stop working (mouse)

    Hi guys,.

really need your help. I have an Equium L10-300 and my touch pad has stopped working. A few days back, he started to freeze, but reboot solved the problem... but now it has stopped working all together. The icon that normally indicates at the bottom right of the screen disappeared. Have done the FN9 thing and tried to look at the settings...

    Help, please

    Thanks, Pete

    Hi friend

have you already tried to remove the mouse from the Device Manager? Or reinstall the driver would also be a very good attempt to resolve this situation as a whole.

The first step that needs to be done is to exclude a software error, then go-> http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/-> support downloads & -> support-> download home page-> download drivers

Get the driver for your mouse and reinstall. If it shouldn´t work then come here and we will see what could be the next step...

I have been runing Windows Vista on my Toshiba Satellite Pro A300 PSAGDE. Because my original Windows Vista key has been blocked I did a system recovery CD Toshiba vith XP. Everything work fine except the fingerprint sensor and the touchpad. Manager access suite said he couldn't connect with equipped and the driver touch pad in the taskbar icon shows but it seems to be inactive. The touchpad does not work even though I have pres FN + F9.

What should I do to save this problem.

Sory for my bad English, I just form Slovenia, I hope you understand.

Somehow the material is not properly recognized.
It will be interesting to see if the fingerprint sensor and touchpad may work with Vista preinstalled originally.
I think that Alex is right. Contact the nearest Toshiba service provider and ask for help. They should check the functionality of the hardware.

  • Portege R930 - Touch Pad on / off button does not work

    Hello

R930 nine (PT330A) and a minor but annoying thing... the small button above the touch pad and below the space bar for the Touch Pad on / off does not work. I can't find the configuration options for this anywhere. Fn + F9 works very well.

Not much, but I like things to work! And this button would be very convenient for a quick switch.

    Thank you
    Mark

Can you use the Toshiba? I think you should have the button eco and presentation on this machine.

Check please if you can enable/disable these keys in the HWsetup tool.
I don t have Win8 machine, but I think that all these buttons can be enabled/disabled.

    Please, check and send comments.

  • Portege R700 - Touch Pad, ecoUtility and presentation of the key does not

    Hello

    I got a Portege R700 with Windows 7 64 bit.
This machine starts very slowly after the log in user mode only.
The system is waiting for 1 to 2 Minutes before you can work. In administrator mode erverything is fine and fast.

Thus our directors thought it might be the Toshiba Software and a lot has been disabled or uninstalled.
Because this did not help and because I thought that it migt be cause of Kaspersky, I started to reinstalled and update the software from Toshiba. Most of it works now. Shortcut keys does not work, then I start TfcRst.exe via autostart now, even he would somehow it would be better in 'systemecommencent '.

But still some keys do not work. The Tablet touch power switch, just above the touch pad does not work.
The Fn F9 works. And the two keys to the right upper corner (ecoUtility/off button and the presentation-Key) do not work. In all three major, I get a pop up saying "this function not taken in charge.

Anyone has any idea of this?

    Thank you

    Hello

Why you n t try to restore the operating system back to the same state until the administrator has removed or uninstalled the Toshiba Software?

Generally speaking the VAP (value added package) controls the multimedia keys.
Also the FN keys require the VAP and Flash memory card Support utility.

  • turn off the touch pad hp pavillion

    Hello!

    I have a HP pavilion g6-2240sq with windows 7.

In the instructions that came with the laptop it says touch quickly 2 times a circle in the top left of the touch pad to turn it off. I tried, but it does not work.

I want to disable the Touchpad, cause it gets in the way of typing.

    Can someone help me please?

    Thank you!

    Concerning

It seems that you can run Windows 7 on a system designed for Windows 8 and you run without drivers TouchPad.

HP Pavilion g6-2240sq Notebook PC Drivers & Downloads

This does not explain it.  No worries.  This is not my personal specialty;  I have a couple of options for you.  If none of them does not work because the pilots have not features you need or the drivers don't work well on your machine, we can ask for additional help.

    Options:

    ===========================================================================

    • You might try your driver for Windows 8 running in compatibility mode.  Lot of software works in compatibility mode - if the driver for the TouchPad will be happy if this is something you can try or no--a personal choice.

Download and do not install the device:

    Synaptics TouchPad Driver 16.5.3.3 sp61882

How to install and run the drivers / software Compatilbility Mode:

Drivers and software compatibility by AttackOfZaq mode running

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Try this Windows 7 driver for a similar computer of the g6:

    Synaptics TouchPad Driver 15.3.11.0 sp53851

    • Download and press twice on the installation package
    • Restart / reboot the computer after installation

    Comment

For something like this, it is best if you have an external mouse attached - it's common sense and not because of something flakey on occur.  It's like the race without a disc of recovery and personal backups: you can get away with it for years and then ONE day, Poof - here you are with a blank screen and no way to recover your data.

  • Satellite A660 - touch pad / stop and other buttons do not work

    Dear people on this forum,

Recently, about 3 weeks ago, I turned on my computer and I cleaned out the dust because it was overheating.

about 2 weeks before, I noticed that my touchpad is not working and the buttons at the top of the page do not work, there is no light (multimedia audio buttons wireless) I can't activate/deactivate or either, I don't know how. I don't know if the problem because I cleaned my laptop and has not logged a few threads back but I included this detail because I do not use these buttons if I haven't noticed if they were on. but he said: 2 days ago, I don't know how my wireless exploded Ant when I press fn + f8 (wireless) wireless communication switch is turned off, which is one of the buttons is not working (upstairs next to / switch even with my touch pad)

    I tried the following:

    Windows Update
turn off the computer, remove all cables and battery and wait for about 30 minutes. Then then hold down the button for 30 seconds
Reinstall the support flash cards, hw Setup utility / value pack
and finally a Toshiba out of the recovery of the box using the recovery of 2 cd product

I don't know what to do next. It's either:

    try something else
or is there a wire is connected both touchpad and the buttons at the top and I have to open my laptop and connect them.

Please answer as to my next step to get my wireless.

Please don t get me wrong, but I don t know how to help you now. Disassembly of the laptop is to only authorized persons and if you do it on your own there is always a risk that something may be hurt or may be damaged.

OK, I must also say that I also removed my machine too but I got lucky and everything is OK as before.
I put t know how A660 looks inside, but the principle is still the same and I can't imagine you have whatever it is damaged.
You know very well that we cannot say much about your problem. What you need to do now is the final test of functionality and install original recovery image that you got with your laptop. Test the functionality with the factory settings. If the problem is still there, I m afraid you must open for new laptop and check if everything is connected correctly.

Last option is to contact the service and ask for help.
