sale of a computer and the serial number.

Should I contact Dell to say that I own is no longer the computer I've bought from them, as the service tag will cause a buyer the details of my account?

If I don't need to get in touch, which is the best way to do it? Thanks to the support of customer or technical support to just send an email?

The computer in question no longer has the hard drive (I took it because I do not trust a straight deletion of data to provide any security to ensure the safety of my data and sensitive details), but it does not work.

Thanks in advance for any info.

No, you need not do anything either, and the serial number does NOT reveal the details of your account. The new owner can transfer the serial number to a new account, but unless they can provide details of account like checking, only serial number will not allow Dell to provide information about the account.
