Sansa express 2GB just died

I recently bought 2 GB Sansa Express. After transferring files MP3 player today stopped working.

When on just get SanDisk on screen then turns off almost immediately.

Tried hard reset, did not work. Connecting to the pc, the player now shows as storage device.

Following further discussions, I guess it's in MSC mode, but I can't do anything to change it.

When you run Sansa updater, the message appears "no updateable sansa product has been recognized.

Don't know what to do next?

After many attempts now works OK

  • Sansa Express 1 GB is not using MTP

A few years back my Sansa Express 1 GB worked as a MTP device.  Then, last year, my PC died and I replaced it.  Then, this year I had to reinstall my Windows XP Pro SP3 and my Sansa Express 1 GB now appears as a USB key instead.

I can't the Sansa of new MTP device?

I found the solution to my problem!  To get any MP3 player to work as a device MTP of Windows XP, you MUST install Windows Media Player 10 before the update for Windows Media Player 11.  If you do not, MTP Protocol will not install and the MTP Protocol is not available as a separate download.

Could be a number of things. Have you tried leaving plugged for a good ten minutes and then force to restart? You would do that by pressing the home button and the lock for ten to fifteen seconds, button let go when you see the Apple logo again.

Outlook Express 6 just ate the value of year of my emails.  They seem to have disappeared.  This happened after I was asked if I wanted compact (or was it archive?) my emails.  All hope of recovery?

    Thank you!

Please read this in its entirety. It includes the restoration of the trash.

Two reasons the most common for what you describe is disruption of the compacting process, (never touch anything until it's finished), or bloated folders. More about that below.

Why OE insists on compacting folders when I close it? :
    http://www.insideoe.com/FAQs/why.htm#compact

    Why mail disappears:
    http://www.insideoe.com/problems/bugs.htm#mailgone

    Recovery methods:

If you are running XP/SP3, then you should have a backup of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin (or possibly the message store), copied as bak files.

To restore a folder bak on the message store folder, first find the location of the message store.

Tools | Options | Maintenance | Store folder will reveal the location of your Outlook Express files. Note the location and navigate on it in Explorer Windows or, copy and paste in start | Run.

In Windows XP, the .dbx files are by default marked as hidden. To view these files in the Solution Explorer, you must enable Show hidden files and folders under start | Control Panel | Folder options | View.

Close OE and in Windows Explorer, click on the dbx to the file missing or empty file, then drag it to the desktop. It can be deleted later once you have successfully restored the bak file. Minimize the message store.

Open OE and, if the folder is missing, create a folder with the * exact * same name as the bak file you want to restore but without the .bak. For example: If the file is Saved.bak, the new folder should be named saved. Open the new folder, and then close OE. If the folder is there, but just empty, continue to the next step.

First of all, check if there is a bak file already in the message. If there is, and you have removed the dbx file, go ahead and rename it in dbx.

If it is not already in the message, open the trash and do a right-click on the file bak for the folder in question and click on restore. Open the message store up and replace the .bak by .dbx file extension. Close the message store and open OE. Messages must be in the folder.

If messages are restored successfully, you can go ahead and delete the old dbx file that you moved to the desktop.

If you have not then bak copies of your dbx files in the Recycle Bin:

DBXpress run in extract disc Mode is the best chance to recover messages:
    http://www.oehelp.com/DBXpress/default.aspx

    And see:

    http://www.oehelp.com/OETips.aspx#4

A general warning to help avoid this in the future:

Do not archive mail in default OE folders. They finally are damaged. Create your own folders defined by the user for mail storage and move your mail to them. Empty the deleted items folder regularly. Keep user created folders under 300 MB, and also empty as is possible to default folders.

Disable analysis in your e-mail anti-virus program. It is a redundant layer of protection that devours the CPUs, slows down sending and receiving and causes a multitude of problems such as time-outs, account setting changes and has even been responsible for the loss of messages. Your up-to-date A / V program will continue to protect you sufficiently. For more information, see:

  • Sansa Updater for Sansa Express - can we trust?

Last October, I found myself "bricking" my Sansa Express while trying to update its firmware.  Fortunately I got it back working, but it took several hours of poring over forums and trying different things.  Today, while a few new songs to the Sync feature, a window appears telling me that there is an update available.  Can I trust him and how do I know what are the potential benefits of the update?

As I suggested before, read the Release Notes in the post that I linked to.

It is very possible that you already have the latest version, see how the latest updated for this model is 4 years old now. If you are less than a year ago, you have already installed this version. Check f/w on your Player version to confirm.

  • No sound from radio Sansa Express

I was in the middle of listening to the radio on a Sansa Express 1 GB player and when I tried to change to another game before all of a sudden there was no noise coming from the drive.  I went to the music and who played well.

Has anyone else encountered this problem before?  How can I fix this without having to send it back to the company?

Another thing: the big square button does not respond well to the presses when the player is in radio mode.  Not sure if this is related to the problem of radio itself.

I tried the up button, but that didn't work.  However, your comment prompted me to press some other buttons and eventually I realized that the play button doesn't actually control toggle functionality.  Thank you, keberloo.

  • Sansa Express: FM Radio Tuner

    Hello

I bought 2 Sansa Express 2 GB MP3 players.  I can't find the voice recorder Radio to a player, only music, FM tuner and parameters.

    Could someone help me please?

    Kind regards

I managed to get a player with the correct firmware update and now the FM radio works fine.  However the player SE which was originally the FM radio is not recognized by my computer.  Turn on the player, only one answer is the construction of data base until it stops.  No luck by applying one of the suggestions in this forum.  Think it must be returned or hammered unrecognizable. :-(

  • MicroSD - "Drive is not formatted" after taking on sansa express

    Here's my problem.

    I have a kingston 1gig microSD card.

I use a card reader and add songs to the card.

I insert the card into the sansa express. Sansa reads the card very well, the songs are there.

But when I remove the microSD card and plug my card to the reader to add more songs it says that "the drive is not formatted" and I need to format it in until I can use it!

    http://img213.imageshack.us/img213/1629/formez4.jpg

This means that I have to erase everything that card and readd all the songs.

The sansa express did something to the microSD card. It makes it unreadable when I connect it to my pc?

    Any fix for that?

    I found the problem.

It was the * beep * kingston brand.

Looks like sansa dislikes the kingstons.

I bought a transcend 4 GB sdhc micro, and the problem disappeared.

In fact, when I insert the chip in the sansa and plug the sansa I also get a drive for the micro sd card (it didn't happen with the kingston), in other words this thing doubles as a sdhc reader.

But I had to format the chip with my other player sdhc first.

  • iMac sound just died

The sound died today on my iMac.  iTunes opens by itself, and I can't listen to music if I try to play anything.  I checked mute and in system preferences, he has not yet shown built-in speakers, just the headphones and it kept flashing like a neon sign.  Does anyone else know something similar to this?

There are several possible reasons for the release of its failure. Please take each of the following steps that you have not already tried it. Some may not apply to your model. Stop when the problem is resolved.

Back up all data before making any changes.

    1. start by the steps recommended in this support article. Do not skip any step. It is the starting point for further efforts fix.

2 make sure that you have an installation fully updated to Mac OS X.

    3. If you have installed an application called 'Own memory' or any other third party software that is supposed to 'clean' or 'purge' memory automatically, remove it according to the instructions of the developer and restart. You should do this even if the software is not causing the problem, because it is useless.

    4. other third party which has been reported to interfere with an audio software includes the "Boom" and "Samsung Kies". If necessary, uninstall instructions of the developer (not not by dragging something in the trash.)

    5. If a device AirPlay is selected for the audio release of iTunes (or other applications via third party software such as "Wing"), deselect it.

    6. launch the application 'Setting up Audio and MIDI' by entering the first letters of his name in a Spotlight search and by selecting it in the results (it should be at the top). Select output integrated in the list on the left. If the mute boxes are checked, then.

    7. If a red light is visible in the port of audio when its must play, the internal switch is stuck in the position of the digital display. You may be able to release it by inserting and removing of a mini stereo plug of adequate size. If this is not the case, the machine needs to be repaired. Insert any kind of tool in the port can cause damage that is not covered by the warranty.

If there is no red light, the switch can always be locked in the position of the helmet. Try to clear the same way.

8 disconnect all devices wired except the keyboard and mouse, as appropriate. If more than one display is connected, unplug all the extra zeros. Restart and test.

    9. If you have a MacBook Air, turn Bluetooth off and restart.

10 start in safe mode. Do not open a session; Just restart as usual when the login screen appears. When you do, make sure that the words "Safe Boot" do not appear in the login screen. If they do, the system is still in safe mode and the sound does not work.

    11. reset the NVRAM.

    12. Reset the SMC.

    13. triple - click anywhere in the line below on this page to select this option:

    /Library/Preferences/Audio

Right-click or Ctrl-click on the highlighted line and select

Services ▹ reveal in Finder (or just to reveal)

of the contextual menu.*, a file must open with a selected item. Move selected item to the trash. You may be prompted for administrator login password. Restart the computer and empty the trash. Re-create your settings in the sound preferences panel.

    * If you do not see the item context menu copy the selected text in the Clipboard by pressing Control-C key combination. In the Finder, select

Go ▹ go to the folder...

from the menu bar and paste it into the box that opens by pressing command + V. You won't see what you pasted a newline being included. Press return.

    14. reinstall OS X after you back up all data.

    15. an appointment of 'Genius' in an Apple store.

  • Satellite Pro P300 just died on me

    Hello

Yesterday my Satellite Pro P300 (PSPC1E) died just the'm... no battery charging lights nothing. Nothing happens when I press the power button it is DEAD.
The battery was ok last time used, the adapter is still give me almost 20volts.

I took the laptop goes to check the DC in connector, it's ok.
I guess that, after some research, it is a fault of the motherboard. In general my warranty missed 2 months ago!
A new motherboard replacement so far here quoted costs £180, not too eager to pass that as I have a tax account at the end of this month!

Any ideas of what could be the problem?
I found a mobo on eBay which is a course of p300-1 to 8 for a song, but which would be compatible?
What are all the variations in motherboards?
Any other motherboard would be compatible?

All ideas, suggestions would be much appreciated, and I thank everyone in advance for ideas.
    See you soon
    Steve

I think motherboard is dead too. My brother had a similar issue when he wanted to connect the external HARD drive.
Simply, there is an electro shock and from that moment the cell phone was dead. No reaction at all. Drive external HARD even was dead and it smells like burned plastic.

Anyway, if you want to have the same hardware, you can buy identical mainborad of a PSPC1E model.

  • New Apple Airport Express - I just swap out with my old?

If I have to set it up, can someone tell me dumbed down how?

    Thank you

It is always better to start with the default factory setting when the replacement of base stations.

However, if both base stations are 802.11n models, you can use AirPort Utility to set up the terminal 'new' to replace the older one. If this is the case, you can just power the new base station, and then select its Wi - Fi your Mac network. Doing so will give you the opportunity to run the AirPort Utility. Just follow the steps automated to replace one with the other.
