SATA ports on MS-7613 motherboard (HP G5370uk desktop PC)

Hello world

I have a PC HP G5370uk desktop (but with processor i5, new graphics card, and improved memory).  My next planned upgraded is a SSD and Windows 8.  I know the different shift than the races of motherbard SATA2 3 Gb/s, so I won't get all the benefits of a 6 GB/s SSD, but I'm happy with that for now.

It's the map page mother HP http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c02014355

My question is, when I watch the news (from HWiNFO64) SATA, it is said there are #0 à #5 SATA ports, but I see only 4 ports on the motherboard.  And he also said that they run interface speeds.  Is down to devices that I've connected, or will they run all 3 Gbit/s, no matter what I plug into wise SSDS.  If this isn't the case, that plug in to for best results.

Thank you very much in advance for any advice you can give

Sean

The jury only has 4 ports of 3 Gbit/s SATA2, numbered from 1 to 4 according to the scheme.

  • SSD Raid 1 on the PowerEdge 100 motherboard Sata ports

    Hello

I have a PowerEdge T100 with a Raid 1 SAS. I want to upgrade the server with 2 SSD connected to the Sata ports directly on the motherboard. They would Raid 1.

Do you know if this is possible with the T100 PE?

    Hello

I can't say with certainty. It is theoretically possible, but here are some things to consider:

    1. I show that we validated a SSD for the T100
    2. I do not show that the T100 is supported by the AHCI. Better SSDS feature with AHCI
    3. Although the ICH9R chipset is capable of RAID I do not show that it is a feature of the version installed in the T100 system map. You will need to run the RAID software within the operating system if you want a RAID array.

Another thing to note is that the SATA ports are locked when a RAID SAS controller is present. Some of the ports are unavailable if this controller is present in the system.

    Hello again,

    Yes, the paper suggests so.
But if you have just one hard drive that it doesn't matter at all.

However, if you have several hard drives connected, you must use port 0 for training with the operating system installed on.

  • Can I use the SATA port connected to an optical drive to plug in a hard drive?

I have a Pavilion e9270t desktop, Win7 Pro SP1, and I want to connect 3 HARD drive to the motherboard. Can I do this? Can I use the SATA port connected to an optical drive to plug in a hard drive?

    Thanks, CHemming

    CHemming,

I've not seen UEIF support in the existing BIOS.

If your demand on a 3T led, re - consider a maximum of 2 T.

If you ask to have 3 hard disks, then you can do it without harassing the present cable of CD.

The cage of your system hard disk will support 3 hard disks. Manual upgrade service

All you need are the SATA data and power cables. Your Board has 4 SATA data ports.

When you report back after inspecting your system for SATA power cables, I will move the cables and adapters, if necessary.

  • PowerEdge 2900 on board sata ports

I have a PowerEdge 2900 server and would like to put in a single spare 2 TB SATA for additional storage (non-critical).  The motherboard has two onboard SATA, A & B ports.  When I try to connect the drive onboard SATA ports, the BIOS does not detect anything, and when I change the type 'Auto', save the settings and restart settings are not stored in the BIOS.

I don't know if the SATA motherboard ports supports hard drives, or if there is other reason things do not work.  I tried different cables and tried the drive in another computer, and everything works fine in another computer.  Plan to put in some additional SAS drives in the drive box, I'm looking for an intermediate solution.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Thank you

I've seen this same problem and fixed it. He must go to "Shipped" in the bios and enable "Onboard Sata".

He says I have sata 1 and 2 under 'internal connectors' but I have 4 sata ports. That's the problem, I don't know which one to use. Currently, I have it plugged into one marked "Sata 3. What should I do?

    Thank you, Travis

The specs are incorrect. All 4 SATA ports are the same and are SATA2.0 ports. I doesn't really matter which port you are using, but I put the main hard drive on #1, secondary hard drives on #2 and #3 and the CD/DVD on #4.

    Thank you

    Its sata not sas No.  Motherboard: DX58SO2 Chipset X 58 Express/Intel ICH10

    System requirements:

Your motherboard must PM port multiplier support.  The 8300 is not working.

The ICH10R does not support port multipliers, you need a card with a Silicon Imaging SIL3124 or controller 3132 or some JMicron controllers.

    SeattleSam.

Many sleepless nights is early and extensive reading. You can not have both Sata and IDE controllers active.

    (1) ATTENTION: This Board only supports the Sata150. You must provide a rider and the value of the player Sata150.

This means that you must purchase a Sata150 and Sata300 drive (with a rider).

    (2) you must use the IDE emulation

  • Z200, multiple SATA ports can be designated for eSata?

I have an eSata card 2 model (which feeds my Z200 via SATA motherboard). 5 SATA port is configured to use eSata in the BIOS and works as it should. I tried the second port of routing ports SATA 3 and 4, however any eSata device that will not recognize without a reboot. It seems I can only specify a port to be a port "eSata". I use Windows 7, 64-bit as OS.

Is my question, possible to use multiple SATA ports as a port eSata on the Z200? It works fine on the Z800 I (I don't have yet to specify what are the SATA eSata ports, will work all available ones I use).

Thanks in advance for any help,

    Hello

Try HOTSWAP.  It works fine as it forces a rescan of material.  You another alternative is to use the function analysis of new hardware in Device Manager.

  • Add additional SATA ports

I have three hard drives in my XPS 9100 (start + two storage drives). I've been threatening to install an SSD , which would replace current among the hard disks. I have also two optical drives. Who uses all five SATA ports.

Ideally I would like to leave the HARD drive that is currently installed and reformat the drive for additional storage, but the issue of SATA ports and supply connections arise.

I could do this by installing a PCI-Express card like this:

StarTech.com 2 Port PCI Express controller card PEXSATA22I internal SATA II

and using a divider of power like so?

    StarTech.com 6 SATA Power Y Splitter cable adapter - M/F in PYO2SATA

Note: I would connect the SSD to a SATA port on the motherboard (not map).

    DG

    Dg27,

They attract very little energy, so it shouldn't matter.

  • XPS8500 mSATA iii, HARD drive disk SATA port?

I have a XPS8500 Office with 2 SATA iii HARD drive currently as the only player to. I bought a 1 to Samsun Evo 850 to replace the HARD drive (the HARD drive has only about 600 GB used, so it should migrate completely without problem). Ports SATA 4 deep 1 SATA ii and SATA 0 and mSATA ports are the only SATA iii ports, I would move the existing 2 TB HDD in a location empty in the cage with the SSD drive in the location of the SATA 0 port. Ideally I would drive the HARD drive using the port mSATA to keep capacity SATA iii. Is there an adapter that will allow you to it? In other words: an adapter to change the architecture of the port mSATA connector to allow a normal SATA cable connect the port for a SATA drive.

There are adapters to convert a port mSATA on the motherboard in a standard SATA 3 port to a HARD drive. If you google around you can find them, for example this one.

Remember that I do not specifically recommend (or not) this map or this provider. So shop around to find what fits your needs and your budget.

Also, I have no idea how that these adapters are working (or not).
