Satellite 1670 very hot and noisy problem

I borrowed a 1670 that I need for my exam in 9 days...
The problem is that he had problems of heat in his younger years (apperently not directly a problem for the cpu, but the substance was so hot you couldn't sit with him on the knees)
someone were volt-modded or something to get a fan for the air flow more...

is it possible for me to put it back to normal, so it is not so noisy.

Anders

Hello

I don't know exactly how old is this model of Satellite, but I guess that the reason may be dust. If there is no possibility is trying to blow out the dust and clean. I am sure that on this way the unit will get more air and it will be much better.

Your laptop is probably full of dust and it cannot be cooled correctly. These symptoms are typical for dirty notebook.

  • Satellite Pro U400 starts and overheating problems

    Hello

6 weeks ago, I bought a Satellite Pro U400. Shortly after that I bought, I noticed that the computer overheating. After 1 hour of use, it becomes very hot in the touchpad area, as well in the base of the computer and on the touchpad itself. It is very annoying because I almost burn my fingers with the touch pad.

The problems began 10 days ago. I had been using the laptop for an hour when it suddenly turned off without notice. Power outage? I don't know Don t. I looked like a sytem of overheating protection. My previous laptop had the same problem. After a few minutes, I was able to turn it back on.

Then it happened again a few days ago, but it took me 5 minutes to turn on. Yesterday, it happened again, and after 45 minutes without response, I went to bed. In the morning, I was able to turn it on.

This also happens when wifi is disabled, it is not only a problem with the wifi card, overheating of the system.

Am I the only one having this problem? I will try to send it back to Toshiba for a replacement or a refund.

Is this normal in a really new machine?

    Thank you

First, the warming of the touchpad is normal for almost every laptop, due to construction. Under this, there are the HARD drive and it produces heat. With my last books, and it was not bad, too.
But really to get so hot?

Due to the protection against overheating, it is normal that you cannot turn on your laptop immediately.
But the wireless card is not the device in question, because it's a very small piece of hardware and produce little heat.

You said, you had this problem with your notebook previous too. Let me ask you, when you use your notebooks? What your table surface there or is there no matter what on that table cloth?

What I can tell you right now is, to check your locations of fantilation for all dust or maybe you have objects near it so that hot air can not cool.

  • iMac gets very hot and is still hot when idle...

    Hello

My 27 2011 iMac OSX 10.8.5 becomes very hot, I can barely hold my hand on it, I'm only using Firefox & Mail.

    Other problems are:

1 when he'll sleep auto sometimes I can't wake him up and must use the back button to restart.

2 when you make sure you empty the trash, it will not empty, the progress bar stops at halfway.

    3 finder sometimes becomes unresponsive

4 Wifi disconnects and is looking

5 mail won't start, keeps bouncing

    6 system prefs launch

7 can not restart or shut down

No idea why all these problems have just begun, I did not update anything as I remember, is there a way to see if I've updated something, in this case then it will be the solution to my problem, maybe?

    Thanks in advance

  • M4: Regulation of the CPU power and fan - tablet is running hot and noisy

My M4 is running hot and and the frequent active noisy fan in the normal power setting. This allows to improve some during the definition of the maximum energy saving options: battery life. But still the fan starts running and short relatively frequent. The fan noise is high enough to be quite irritating in a quiet environment.

    Is this normal?

Also my M4 allows on occations to memorize the fan.
Cpu temperature drops from 58 to about 44 C after awhile, but the fan still works.
However, if I go on hold for 1 second and back, fan control is reset and the fan turns off.
Yourself or others behave the same?

    Hello

If the operating temperature of the machine goes upward, so that the cooling fan turns on.
Many parts for example produce a lot of heat from the graphics card.
In addition the CPU temperature increases if many processes are running in the context of the operating system or if you are working with programs (i.e. playing games).
If you have a laptop computer with a processor that is hot much faster one and then another, it must be cooled more often.
You can believe me :) It's not a fault!

If you wish, you can try changing the cooling method parameter in Toshiba power saver utility.

    Best regards

  • Satellite A300-20 b and cooling problem

    Hello

I have Toshiba Satellite A300-20 b and I have a cooling problem. Since I have this laptop I ve been tracking the temperature of the CPU and found out I got the maximum temperature was about 80 c. The strange thing is that the cooler starts only when the CPU reaches this high temperature, if it isn't the cold remains off.

Another weird thing is that once it is not blocking the cooler starts. It stops only if I restart or shut down the computer. Is this normal? Should I worry about something? Thank you very much for your answers.

  • iCloud mail makes MacBook Air running very hot and very fast battery drain

Given that the upgrade to El Capitan and running the latest updates of my MacBook Air has worked very (almost too hot to the touch in some places) hot and the fan that has happened all the time. The battery is also in very quickly - I can sit and look at the percentage count.

If I disable my iCloud in Mail preferences the computer messaging service cools, the fan stops and the battery stabilizes. So it must be a problem with iCloud mail. Anyone who has ideas or fixes for this?

  • computer is very hot and sometimes even off

I put a gadget to see the use of the proscesor. And even if any application is open, markers told 40% or 30% of procsesor "in use".

my computer is also very hot, it takes like 2 minutes or more in power and they just change the hard drive, because it was boken I don't know how.
Sometimes when the procsersor marker is over 80 and the computer is extremely hot you even stop it, and when I reopen it she says the computer closed to protect the files or it has not been closed properly.
Anyone have the same problem or knows what to do?

On a laptop I find that every 6 months or if dust and lint accumulates and begins to cause a build up of heat.  I usually take a can of compressed gas and make jump through the ventilation ports on the side and bottom.

Also if you have something that is constantly keep your processor busy, you should know what it is and see what you can do about it.  Do a CTRL-ALT-DEL and start the Task Manager.  Click on the processes tab, and then double click on the header of the CPU.  Click on the button below on the left that says: show processes from all users.

Now all running tasks will be shown and sorted in order of CPU usage.  That will tell you what to eat at all cycles.

    Good luck.

  • When my computer is running windows much, it will come very hot and in a few minutes it stops... ?

Why my computer? When he opens windows as much as it will become so hot and after a few minutes, it will stop automatically? How can I solve this problem?

    Hello

    ·          What version of the operating system is running on your computer?

    ·          When the issue started?

    ·          Were there any changes made to your computer before this problem?

    ·          It's a laptop or a desktop computer?

This change of heat can occur if any hardware is defective. You can try these:

Step 1: Keep your computer clean - on hair, dirt and the dust of time can accumulate and prevent air from getting in or out of the case. Make sure that your computer case and ventilation is cleaned.

Step 2: check the fans s ' ensure that all fans of the computer are working correctly. You will need to check each of the fans and looking for problems with rotation or hear abnormal sounds determine if the fans are working correctly.

You can also contact the computer manufacturer for help with this.

    Thank you very much

    Hi mate

This certainly isn't a common behavior of mobile and I highly recommend contact the ASP (certified partner) in your country.

In my case touchpad area and the left side of the laptop is a little warm, but is nothing unusual since the cooling modules are placed on this side.

But in your case the laptop and cooling modules should be checked by a technician because there could be something wrong.

  • Satellite C660 - very slow and freezes

Just bought this laptop in Argos a week ago. I know that other people have had similar problems. Basically things together is really slow no matter what you do, escecially when you go on the internet. Takes forever for nothing to take, then you end up with several windows open and all crashes.

On the suggestion of some people on this forum, I have removed the free McAfee antivirus and installed my own Norton one instead.

I installed the update to the BIOS when prompted to by the Toshiba updates.

Another problem is that there is the windows updates about 36 the machine try to download, but it keeps failing to install them and try again whenever you turn it on.

    All advice appreciated.

    Hey Buddy,

    > Basically the whole things runs very slowly everything you do
It comes with the pre-installed Windows version or you have installed your own version? What additional software programs you have installed and that you have connected external devices?

    > Another problem is that there is the windows updates about 36 the machine tries to download but it keeps failing to install them and try again whenever you turn it on.
I recommend you to install Service Pack 1 before you start with simple updates of Windows. You can download Service Pack 1 all on the official Microsoft Website. After installation try to download Windows updates again.

  • Satellite A300D-15B - off and charging problem

    Hello

I have a Satellite A300D-15B, running Windows 7 32 bit, which has bought used recently. I encountered some problems and I hope that someone can help me with!

First of all, the day I got the machine, he spent all of a sudden, but turned back immediately and seems to be ok. Subsequently, 3 weeks later (Saturday 2 July) I was installing some software when I got an AGV virus warning, in a few moments the machine again is turned off suddenly. Unfortuanetly right now it will not turn back and the costs/AC power indicator do not come. After some research, I found that remove the BIOS battery and power dissipation allowed me to turn on the machine. Are there any known issues that could be the cause?

Second, once I had the laptop to turn on after you stop suddenly on Saturday, I found that the charger will not yet be you register as being plugged in unless I have use the folling procedure.
    (1) disconnect the power cable fuse from the transformer block
    (2) remove the battery
    3) plug into the DC Jack
    (4) plug the power cord for the transformer that causes the power led on the laptop to turn on.
    (5) reconnect the battery

The laptop then charges normally, I use it to write this post.

I must use this process whenever the unit is unplugged the sector or charger, which is irritating and also concern that there could be trouble on the horizon.

Any help would be much appreciated.
    see you soon
    John

    Hi John,.

You wrote that your laptop runs with Windows 7 and the first question you mentioned could be linked to the operating system only. You can test one thing please? Restore factory using Toshiba recovery disc. The disc will restore original settings of the case which is pretested by Toshiba.

If it s just a software related problem the recovery disc will resolve this problem.

Unfortunately, it could be a malfunction of the motherboard also. Are you using the original Toshiba AC/DC adapter or 3rd party one?

I tried to install OS XP Professional SP1 + SP2 on my Toshiba Satellite C660P - 11 p, but after aprox. 1 minute from starting installation of Windows, the following message was displayed:
"A problem has been detected and Windows has shut down to prevent damage to your computer. If this is the first time you've seen this stop error screen, restart your computer. If this screen appears again follow these steps:

I tried to install OS again, and the same message appeared.
I don't know what I can do to solve the problem.
How can I remove the installed hard drives or hard drive controllers?

    Thank for your help anticipate

And during the original installation of Windows 7 everything becomes OK?

I put t know what you mean with SP1 + SP2, but when you want to install WXP Windows XP edition family SP2 or WXP including SP3.

  • Satellite C50D-A-13R and WIn7 - problem of USB 3.0

Hello, can pls somebody help me on this:

I expelled Win 8.1 portable a.m.. and installed Win 7 Home Premium SP1 instead.
Everything went smoothly so far, but the USB 3.0 driver:
It is always marked with exclamation in the devicemanager.
I had downloaded all THE 34 drivers/utilities for Win7 and installed them, of course, the USB3-pilot data, too.
    but still, this tenacious thing...
    Can anyone advice on this?

BTW: is there a certain sequence/order these drivers/utilities need to be installed?
And if so, why are there no clue on the download page?
And another thing: for some devices are two different drivers being given, how do I know which is the correct?
And finally: How can I disable the touchpad?

Thank you very much in advance for your help...
    IsNis

    > is there a certain sequence/order these drivers/utilities need to be installed?
This installation order is present to win 8.1 and you will find on the page of the driver Toshiba UE (installation instructions)
It seems that these setup instructions for Win 7 are not available.

    > And another thing: for some devices are two different drivers being given, how do I know which is the correct?
Check the device that is present in your model of laptop.
How to do? The procedure is described here:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/Ann.jspa?annID=78

    > And last not least: How can I disable the touchpad?
You must install the driver of pad touch (Alcor and Synaptics)
Then, you can use the Fn + F5 function key to enable or disable the touchpad.
You can also disable the touchpad go to Panel of-> mouse-> device pointing (or Advanced tab). In the settings (or properties), you will find the touchpad options and also the ability to disable the pointing device internal.

    Regarding USB 3.0
Laptop Satellite PSCGWE C50D-A-13R supports the AMD chipset. As a result, AMD USB 3.0 driver must be installed.
Next to the installation of the AMD USB 3.0 driver, the AMD/ATI display driver should be installed since such driver contains also the AMD chipset driver files.

  • Satellite U 300 - battery and sound problems

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has had similar problems as me:
My laptop is only two years, but last year his work only intermittently. I get messages saying that the driver is not installed, until one day he will decide that the driver is installed after all and works very well. Until the next time it stops working. There seems no rhyme or reason for it. I gave up trying to reinstall the driver, because I know that (possibly) the sound will come back without intervention from myself.

My second problem may be connected - I have problems every now and then close the laptop. I try to put in mode 'sleep', but is not complete the process, and the blue light comes on. When I then open the cover, very often, the screen stays black and I have to turn off the machine and turn it on again the force again.

Then recently, I noticed a sharp drop in the battery life (less than an hour). He also annoyingly started losing all power and cut until the indicator showed all the usual warnings of low power.

Anyone know if these problems can be linked, and whether they can be fixed? A new battery will fix it? To be honest, he arrived at a point where I think to buy another laptop do since they are really starting to get frustrating!

    Thank you very much

    Gooday,

I also own a U300 I bought about 2 years ago now, I had no problem with the sound but didn't have any other problems with my 1-2 months battery life after life - 20-30 min. I just baught a new battery and it is promising, I just did the first load and it lasted long, however the windows said it had 0% remaining, but I pulled out another 30-45 minutes the dough until it went flat. It is listed under ACPI in the event log.
