Satellite 320CDT: what slim burner could be compatible?

Hello!

I use a laptop Toshiba Satellite 320CDT. It is not a new machine, a few years ago, but this is not the point. I only use it to run my favorite Delphi environment while I'm away from my desktop pc (320CDT offers me more than 3 hours of battery life).

Lately, I disassembled my laptop because I traded the 'mouse' rubber buttons ('old' was almost nothing). I discovered that CD mounted in this notebook is "slim" (12,7 mm) standard drive and its connector is also standard. Now my question is: is this laptop a capable cd writer?
I mean if I buy standard burner slim and mount it will work?

This laptop comes with two standard IDE/ESDI controllers and slim drives are also standardized.
I should expect some problems, for example. problems with the firmware?
This type of player is 'dedicated Toshiba?

Thanks for your replies.

Greetz from Poland and sorry for my English which is not too good,
W.

    Hello!

    What laptop you have exactly?

AHCI mode is faster than the compatible mode, but so you need the Intel Storage Manager.

  • Satellite 320CDT: this disc is compatible?

    Hi all
I know it's old, but I have a Toshiba 320CDT which has a dead CD-ROM drive (unless it is very good)
    The mounted is a TEAC CD-220EA-32 (X 20)
    Can someone tell me if a TEAC 224th P / N 1977047 A-30 fits in replacement. It is 24 X drive.

    Thank you very much

    Shane

    Hello

You re right, it s really an oldie and, therefore, I put t found much information on this unit.
You probably know that not every internal drive is compatible because of the road settings.
There are three possibilities: maser, Salvo and c - salt.
Unfortunately, but it s I never knew what the parameters of the Satellite 320CDT uses.
But I think you should check the settings of the TEAC CD-220EA-32 (20 X). Then, you need to know what the next reader must support settings.

Otherwise, you can contact Toshiba service partner in your country and ask the guys for the compatible reader.

  • Update wireless Toshiba Satellite S1900-303: what wi - fi card is compatible?

    Hello

    I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite S1900-303.

I would like to add a Mini PCI WiFi card, the laptop is capable of wireless, as it was an optional upgrade. The wireless antenna is here and the switch and the PCI slot.

I tried using a 2200 GB Intel Pro/Set wireless card but may not turn on,
So I tried a (number PA3458U-1MPC) Atheros wireless card but I can not pass it as well.

There is no option in the Bios to enable

I tried Fn - F8 to swith the card wireless on but nothing happens and the wireless light not, but if I turn on the wireless switch, then press Fn - F8 it came as "Wireless has been disabled, please make sure that the wireless switch has been turn on.

Any suggestions? What could I have been hurt, or did the two cards are incompatible with this laptop?

If so what Wireless mini Pci card would work?

    Thank you

    Hello

I found the info that the mini PCI WiFi card part number: PA3212U-1MPC could be compatible.
There seems to be an Intel Pro 2100 wireless network card that supports the 802. 11b standard Wlan.

    Hello Angels3cma,

Thank you for posting.  It seems that you were doing data DVD discs.  To burn DVDs to be compatible with the DVD player, you will need to make DVD-video disc.  I have listed the steps below to make DVD-video disc in Windows DVD Maker.  These same steps are be typing "How to burn a movie on a DVD" in Help and Support found by pressing the button Start/Orb you Windows desktop.

    Burn a DVD-video disc

You can create DVDs quickly and easily using Windows DVD creation. You can add videos, photos and audio, make slide shows for your DVD, or add your Windows Movie Maker projects. Once you add files, you can burn your DVD with a single click, or, if you prefer, you can choose from several styles of menu and the slide show options to make your special DVD before you burn, or customize your DVD menus and write the DVD menu text yourself.

After you create a DVD, you can play the DVD on a DVD player and watch your movies and slide shows on TV. The following steps explain how to use creation of Windows DVD to burn a DVD.

    To open Windows DVD Maker

    • Click Start, click all programs, and then click Windows DVD creation.

  • Is there a problem with the maximum size of the RAM for Satellite 320CDT?

I have a 320CDT Satellite with the latest BIOS (v8.00) and Windows 98 Second edition installed. There are 32MB memory base and a 32 MB module in the single expansion slot. If I change it to a plug-in 64 MB I see that 64 MB of total memory reported, not 96 as expected; the specification for the machine indicates that the admissible maximum memory is 160 MB (32 MB base + 128MB expansion). Does anyone know if there is a problem with the maximum memory size for this model and if there is a solution or workaround? I need to know quickly, in order to decide if I should return the memory module to the vendor! Thanks a lot for any help, Peter

Satellite 320CDT supports an internal memory of 32 MB and a single slot can be used!
You can improve it to max 96 MB (32 + 64 MB)
I found a few old memory modules. You can use the modules SODIMM 144 pin EDO PA2043U 32 MB or 64 MB PA2044U
