  I bought my laptop Toshiba Satellite A110-231 in Spain in January 2007. Provided with Windows XP, it has created a "Windows Vista ready" label.   I saw the same symptom with my W700 and it is the keyboard and managed to mitigate by removing the power settings on the USB device. The bluetooth keyboard ends up looking like USB to the operating system.

  I think the keyboard could be compatible, but I doubt the battery designed for Sat A110 would be compatible with the model A100.

  As far as I know the Satellite A100 supports the 9 cell, 6000mAh
  PA3478U-1BRS or 12 PA3400U-1BRS battery and the A110 supports PA3457U-1BRS Battery Pack Li-ion (4300mAh, 8 cells)

  just a silly question from me: fact you power on the printer when connecting to the machine? If YES, then try all USB ports on your computer and the printer must be turned on for the connection to the machine.
