Satellite A200-AH6: Error Message: System CMOS checksum bad after BIOS update

I've updated my laptop Satellite A200 - AH6 PSAE0C (Bios and graphic update) after the installation of Toshiba Power Saver.
I downloaded the update of the BIOS on the Site of Toshiba and flashed my BIOS.

After reboot and all start/stop that I do now, I get a black screen (splash screen) with these details listed thus:

Updated System Configuration data
ERROR
0271: check date and time
WARNING
0251: System CMOS checksum bad - default configuration used

Can someone help me please?
If anything, I would just restore my old BIOS, if possible.

Please, someone help!

Hello

Have you tried to access the BIOS and tried to set it to default settings?
Isn't it? Do this!

By pressing the F2 key, you would be able to access the BIOS. Set the BIOS back to default settings and set up.
Then start the laptop again and check if the same notification will appear on the screen.

Welcome them

I don't see the screenshot of your post attachments. Please repost them.

This error message means that WHAT BIOS is damaged. You will need to have the BIOS flashed in a mobile shop, repair a BIOS or an HP Service Center. Do a search online with Google or Bing repair for a BIOS.  If you keep trying to update the BIOS there will come a time where everything you have a black screen.

On startup, I get '0251; System CMOS checksum bad - default configuration used"and I have to reset the date and time. How can I fix this?

Sounds like your bios cmos battery may be defective.

How you replace depends on your PC make and model

  • System cmos checksum bad - default configuration used.

    Original title;

    HP 9000 - boot errors

that means the following errors and how to fix: 0271 - check date and time settings and 0251 - checksum cmos bad system - default configuration used.

    Hi Joseph,.

Since when are you facing this problem?

The CMOS Checksum Bad error that is displayed depends on the type of BIOS used. One of these error conditions indicate that failure of a test of Basic Input/Output System (BIOS).

There are two main reasons why fails a test of the BIOS:

    · The battery on the motherboard has lost its ability to provide energy. Date and time system are also affected by a defective battery.

    · The BIOS has been updated "evil." This can happen if the power is lost by updating the BIOS, or update the BIOS with an update that was not downloaded from HP, or when a virus or malware modifies the BIOS data.

To resolve this error, use one of the following sections provided by HP.

Note: BIOS change / semiconductor (CMOS) to complementary metal oxide settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.

If your PC always shows errors about the clock or CMOS when starting the PC, the CMOS battery on the motherboard probably needs to be replaced.

Alternatively, you can contact HP for help.

  • Satellite Pro M30 - error message: the user is not authorized to update BIOS

    Hello

I bought a Satellite Pro M30 of second hand. This one has the Bios 1.30... I would like to install the bios v1.70.

I am running Windows XP Pro SP3 and tried first update in Windows.
I however got the message "the user is not allowed to update BIOS.

This message is quite surprising given that I have administrator privileges.

I read that you can use a floppy disk to update, but I did not...

So, is it possible to update the Bios with the CD?

    See you soon,.

    Hello

I checked the page European driver of Toshiba and found the version of BIOS 1.7 WIN in the field of ARCHIVES.

As you can see, it's a version of BIOS Windows and not a traditional version of the BIOS (trad BIOS can be updated using the diskette).
This BIOS win can be improved only from a running OS Win.

In any case, I see that you have installed SP3. It could have a bad influence on the update of the BIOS.
Then maybe you should try to update the BIOS without SP3 installed?

Remove SP3, download the good BIOS, unzip correctly and then try to run the BIOS update file.

_Ps: If you laptop then runs without problem a BIOS update is not necessary! _

    Hello

The BIOS battery can be replaced by only authorized service. to do this the laptop everything must be dismantled. By the way: see s operating manuals. You will find info how to load the BIOS battery.
If I remember correctly the laptop must be connected to the adapter sector more than 48 hours. Check in the manuals.

Maybe is my bad English, but I do not understand second problem.
Can you please try to explain it again? I'm sorry.

The printer is three years old and I printed 4 rolls of paper. How to load the original firmware? It doesn´t I would go in the menu with the previous firmware. (The last time I checked there is only firmware December 2013 and the new - neither one works)

  • Satellite C55-A-16Z - graphics card does not work after BIOS update

    Hello

I have a portable Satellite C55-A-16Z with windows 8 and a Nvidia geforce 740M graphics card.

Last week he asked me to update the version of the bios at 1.30.
    The bios update was successful.

However when I restarted my laptop I started having a BSOD dgxkrnl.sys.
Correction of the error and restarted for an another BSOD Windows, and after the second solution, I stopped making BSOD.
But now, I noticed its games running, if not use the dedicated card, but use the 4000 Intel.

In the settings Nvidia dedicated card is configured to be always on.
It seems that my card is missing, but it appears in Device Manager.
I tried to delete, update the drivers and the default factory reset, but nothing helped.

Also, when I go into Options power the Intel card is listed and when I disable the card intel in the Device Manager it starts to use the graphic viewer for windows.

How can I get my Nvidia card to work again?
    Any help is appreciated.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

After the BIOS update the BIOS should be set to default settings.
You can do it in the BIOS.

In addition, you mentioned that Windows 8 is still installed on your laptop.
8.1 to win has already been published by Microsoft and I highly recommend that update you the system of 8 to 8.1 Win Win.

Before you start the upgrade to 8.1 win, you should check and read the instructions step by step for Toshiba: http://www.toshiba.eu/innovation/generic/windows8_1-message/

I guess that after the Win 8.1, nVidia graphics card upgrade works well also.

Your comments would be greatly appreciated.

  • Satellite A110-203: graphics memory only to 64 MB after BIOS update

    Hello

    I have a Satellite 110-203 my aunt.
Once for the period that I have updated the Bios to ver 2.0 running my old old 1.7 and I know not is all wrong so now it's just to receive 64 m VGA in the Direct X diagnostic tool, before it was 128 MB.

Sometimes the screen is flashed that I've not met before. I check the file log and it show:
    New BIOS loading image file...

    Open the D:\winphlash\V0.05.1\Source\BIOS.rom file...
    Error code: 2(0x00000002)
    Description:
    Error code: 2

Y does it can someone help me to deal with this problem or history for the old bios. I appreciate any idea of activity

    Thanks in advance

First the video RAM size can t be replaced. It will be controlled automatically.
And as Akuma said the video RAM size depends on the size of the RAM, so if you have more RAM you will get also more video RAM.

For Windows is sufficient video 64 MB RAM.

  • Satellite X 200-20 s - LAN does not work after BIOS update

    Hi all

I've updated the BIOS version 2.7 and NIC LAN just disappeared from my list of device. The wireless network card works fine however. When I plug the ethernet cable, the green light turns orange not, so I guess that it is not broken, as it worked fine before the BIOS update.

I tried different drivers lan Windows XP and still nothing. Any ideas please?

    I have Windows 7 x 64 installed.

LAN option is listed in the BIOS boot menu?

If you have tested with Win7 and WXP maybe you should do finally test and install recovery image original Toshiba that you got with your laptop and see what happen when you use the laptop with the factory settings.

Then I updated my laptop Satellite A200 - AH6 PSAE0C (Bios and graphic update) after installation of Toshiba Power Saver, but from time to time now, if I do a restart, there is a black screen on reboot with some info about my BIOS and some things put in guard/failure.

Also, when she comes back, once again, every so often, my time is reset to December 2004, 12: 00

    Any suggestions?

Hmm... This strange s... maybe you should try to update the BIOS again. I'm not sure if this is possible if the BIOS has been already updated to the latest version but it worth a try.
In addition, you should access the BIOS and it set to the default settings and need to save settings.
