  Some units of the Satellite A200-PSAECE series were equipped with the Intel WLan card and some portable computers support the Atheros card.

  It's a big problem for me because I can't is Windows Vista and I install XP properly on my machine.
  I have seen that it is'n a new problem and a lot of people must face the same situation.

  If someone has install Windows XP on Satellite A200 (PSAEC) Please give me links to necessary drivers.
  I tried to do my best and use your advise in other posts, but I couldn't get my working of the machine correctly.

  nVidia Geforce GO 7300 256 MB of RAM (name of code G72MV NV)
  I recommend you simply looking on the net for details of the graphics card. Should the nVidia page; provide most of the information.

  I have the above laptop downgraded to purchase Vista Ultimate to WXP SR2, but I'll have questions, get the BIOS to recognize that there is 4 GB of RAM in there. He thinks that there is 3GB.

  With regard to the number of question

  (1) the serial number of the laptop is found at the bottom of the unit. Check the label. I found the info also, that the A200-1BW would belong to the PSAECE series.

  (2) If you are using the operating system XP on this laptop you must update the BIOS to the XP version. If you want to use Vista, updated the BIOS to the version of Vista.

  (3) usually after the BIOS update the 4 GB of memory should be recognized.
  Note _But; _ the version of Vista 32 bit will always be use only 3 GB of RAM due to the limitation of the 32 bit OS!

• Satellite A200 PSAECE - fan of Windows 7 (& BIOS)

  Dear community,

  I installed the latest version of BIOS Toshiba offers for Windows Vista (v.1.80 21/08/07) and I'm running on Windows 7 on a Satellite A200 PSAECE.

  The fan is very VERY strong. I've heard talk of a solution would be to return to a previous version of the BIOS but I can't find it anywhere.

  No indication of how to proceed? Something must be done about it, cannot even bring the laptop to the cause of the library of people complain. (The fan was MUCH less noisy before...)

• Satellite A200 - need driver for CD/DVD drive

  Hey people.

  Recently installed WXP Pro on my laptop A200 PSAEC, so I'm now in dual boot XP and Vista on my laptop.

  Problem is that I have all the drivers doesn't work on XP and everything works perfectly, but when I tried to burn a DVD, Nero said the recorder cannot burn DVDs. In 'My Computer', the drive shows up as a DVD - RW drive, but when I insert a blank DVD, it says CD drive. The drive shows up as "TCSDcor" CD/DVGW TC - L6 #2D "" in Device Manager. I searched a driver, but it is impossible to find an exact match for this drive and there is no driver optical drive on this section of driver from the Toshiba site. The only thing I found is an executable file of the firmware upgrade, but it throws an error saying that it is the wrong drive.

  Anyone got any ideas?

  You don't need a new driver for CD/DVD drive because it s a part of the operating system. So, you won't find one.

  I think you should try to remove the upper and lower filters in the registry. I did the same thing a few days ago, if I also had problems with my CD/DVD player and it worked for me! :)

  Have you tried to reinstall the display driver? I put also t know why this happens, but theoretically, that might solve the problem.

  I tried to uppdate the displaydriver of my Satellite A200 (PSAE0). I downloaded from toshibas website. 7.14.10.1461 driver version. (vista 32 bit).
  But when I try to install the exe, I received a message that the computer do not have the minimi requirements to run the program.

  I tried to update the driver removes I can't get any picture in WinTV, only sound. Used with the Hauppauge Nova-TD USB tv card.

  Hello. Deploy a satellite A200.

  Original problem would not initialize only power light and hard drive light came on a second, nothing on the screen, not access to the parameters of F2.   I bought a Satellite A200-12V during the Christmas sales and decided to downgrade the OS from Vista to XP SP2.
  I went during the major part of the allocation of this forum and installed XP on the machine. (after wake the mobile ICH8 driver and the bus driver from realtek on xp drive).
  I also install the driver for the graphics chip, the driver LAN and wireless trouble-free device driver at all. (Also Windows update as well).

  The only problem I am facing is whenever I try to install the chipset driver or other drivers as mass storage device drivers (I think that's going to be the TI card reader driver), touchpad, key software are supported on Fn and the Chicony Camera Assistant Software from the Toshiba driver, I always had a blue screen of death just after the restart. Even if I had a created restore point before the installation of the driver, the machine jumps to the blue screen just after the restoration of the system.

  I have flashed the BIOS to the version for XP... and I have no idea on what to do next if it executes correctly.

  I hope that someone in this forum can make me light in solving this mystery. It's a real pain after you have reinstalled XP on the same HDD during more than 20 times of testing and errors. ; p

I installed Windows XP SP2 Pro family edition several times on different A200 and P200 successfully. The BIOS is the version of Windows XP Home edition and it is very good. Please use the Windows XP SP2 home edition installation. After the fresh install of WXP follow the instructions facilities document (if available) and please follow this order of the facilities. It is very important.
